Really cool ride to the top. Decorations on point. Nice areas for shade and to sit on around the course. Was some dirty water though. Price is nearly $12 per person. Overall pretty fun and I would recommend for any tourists looking for a change up from the sand. read more

Unique touch of adding the little train ride in the beginning with the pirate robots in the cave you go through during the ride. Some challenging courses but still great for the entire family. read more

Great option for mini golf! Not a ridiculously hard place, but not simple either. Makes for a fun family time where everyone feels like they can participate. The train ride is a little gimmicky when it's three 20-somethings playing, but I imagine kids love it. A little pricey for what you get, but it makes sense for the area. read more

Very fun course. There re 2 courses. Diamond and gold. We did diamond. Good challenges with holes and some easy. The train ride to hole 1 is fun. Just a kiddie train but fun. Took a video but it won't post. Trimmed it down to 12 seconds and still won't post. A little help would be great. Adults are $10.75 and children $8.75 4 and under are free and get a plastic club. Parents watch your knee caps. read more

I miss the days with crazy obstacles like windmills whose blades you have to time correctly to get the ball through...alas, those types of courses no longer seem to exist. Things I liked about this course: 1. There is a train ride to the top of the "mountain" where it lets you off to take one of TWO courses. You don't have to take the train ride if you don't want to. 2. There are TWO courses. They assign groups a course in alternation to help prevent backups. The couple in front of us chose the wrong one when they got to the top meaning we got backed up, but luckily in early June it wasn't busy (no place was) and they moved ahead of us fast enough. I imagine if you played more than once you could tell them and they'd let you pick the other course if you wanted. There's no one monitoring. 3. The layout was interesting - it goes through caves, has some interesting decor, etc. It's got a nice "theme" going for it. We've played Mutiny Bay a couple of times and this is about the same level of "theme". I think there's at least 3 courses with a Pirate Ship on them down here - Mutiny Bay actually has a hole one this ship! The course we played here at Lost Treasure did not, though maybe the 2nd course did. Things I didn't like: 1. Holes were kind of plain. Most were just straight with a bump or obstacle here or there. Getting most of them in 2 shots is pretty easy (with a caveat, which is my next gripe). A few had little "jumps" in them - one over a waterway, one with a "ramp" that you could jump into the hole if done correctly, etc. There was the obligatory three holes at the top that funnel down to a single hole at the bottom (though none seem actually aimed at the main hole. 2. Many of the cups were "raised" or had an aluminum rim around the edge that any ball shot on a normal course would go in, but in these they either rode around the rim or were deflected away. On some even a dead on shot could get deflected. I don't think if you fell right on the edge on any of them the ball wouldn't "fall in" - it would roll away. This made many many shots that should have sunk go around the hole so we got some 5 and 6 scores on what should have been 2 or 3. It made what was an otherwise basic course seem to ramp up the degree of difficulty to a ridiculous level at the cup itself - 1 shot to get you within inches of the hole, 10 shots to actually get it in the cup if you weren't "perfect". 3. We went after it had rained, so naturally the course was damp, but many of the caves drip water - some actually have stalagmites forming! Kinda cool, but if it were windy and/or misty, you'd probably want a jacket and hood or hat to avoid getting dripped on too much. Many of the cups were full of water - they didn't drain like the others. So just a little gripe, but I'm thinking because of the way this course is designed it's going to take longer to dry out than some others. There is a waterfall too which blows a lot of mist. This would be a plus on a hot summer day (and the caves make for plenty of shade) but since a lot of people go when the weather is not a good beach day (meaning overcast, windy, or rainy) the amount of shade and water dripping/spraying might be a nuisance if you're not prepared for it. So I'm putting it here so you know to bring a poncho just in case! 4. Most of the holes had an opening at the end for a walkway off the course onto the sidewalk to the next hole. But this means any shot that banks off a wall might leave the course so we had to block this exit at each hole as none of us are Tiger Woods and we were far more likely to overshoot or hit the edge/obstacle. All in all though, I liked this course and the family had a good time. I liked it a little better than Mutiny Bay but I don't think either is bad. Mutiny Bay might have more exciting holes (can't really remember though) but I feel like the "theme" here and the well thought out dual course and train give this a bit of an edge, especially for families with little ones that would enjoy the train. Things my wife didn't like about this place: 1. I beat her by one stroke ;-) read more

We had a good time playing the game. But the train conductor was very rude to us and others who were there to have fun. So we may not go back just because of him. May want to reconsider things if your that unhappy. read more

Lost Treasure Golf - Mini Golf Near Me - Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina

A fun spot to play a round of mini golf. The staff were friendly and its a well maintained course. We did the gold course and had fun playing 18 holes. None are too hard so it's definitely a good family spot - there were lots of groups with very young children who were having a great time. A nice way to kill an hour or so! read more

Looks awesome from the road, did not really satisfy though, holes were very basic and not very exciting, kinda boring course

It's nice looking from afar but the holes are almost all straight shots with no challenge at all. We did 18 holes on the Diamond course in 30 mins. Boring. read more

Waited about 30 min to play, which is not too bad for mini golf on this island at 9pm. Unfortunately it just was not worth the money. $12 for adults and $13 after 6PM. Most places run 8-9 bucks per adult and the holes at least have some hills or obstacles or something. The first 8-9 holes on the gold course are just flat and straight... Course is ripped several places and the caves could use a fan or two to move the hot air out. Club heads were damaged/ torn and the lights were so dim in places it was hard to see the holes at times. Overall maintenance was lacking for sure and I don't think any major upgrades have been made over the years (I have been coming for the last 6) Just wondering why so expensive relative to other courses that seem to be more interesting and challenging. Not sure what they are spending that $13/person on. read more

Pretty expensive and the course isn't much. It was not that busy and they placed everyone on the same course. Doesn't make sense. It was fun but there are better options just down the street. read more

Although it was a somewhat fun course, it was not a fun experience whatsoever. They kept piling people on the course leaving a wait time for each hole. My boyfriend and I felt rushed the entire time taking away from what was supposed to be a fun date. read more

Love the train ride to the holes. The course is well let but the scenery is the most exciting part. The holes are pretty standard. I still recommend it, especially since there are multiple shady spots on the corner to hide from the sun read more

My boyfriend and I love mini golf. We've been to the Outer Banks several times, always threatening to find a course (not easy in the off season), but never have...until our last trip, at the end of April. We got there about noon, and there were a few folks out on the course, but no one ahead of us. We found the mini-train ride up to the top amusing, albeit a bit silly for two adults and no one else. :P I think we were on the Diamond course. However, we got through the course--some of those "easy" holes were deceptively hard! It had rained earlier in the week, and some of our holes were full of water--something we didn't discover until our balls plopped into the water! How hard is it to empty those out? Nine dollars plus seems a bit pricey for one round of golf, but it was fun, and we'd do it again. Not sure if I'd do it during the season--I suspect it will be jam-packed! However, it was an enjoyable way to kill an hour. read more

Had a lot of fun. The courses were great. Not too many obstacles or short cuts, but the atmosphere really made up for it. Even in the rain it was a lot of fun. Definitely give this place a shot to kill some time and have fun. read more

The holes were pretty basic. The caves are very musty, and there is a cockroach infestation. Very very gross

Course is nice & big ! you have an option to ride a little train or take the stairs to your first hole !! we took the train it was a nice little ride very neat I have never seen that before ! It was a big course with unique challenges loved it ! read more

My daughter mom and aunt came today, we had a blast, my daughter learned the basics about mini golfing, and loved going in and out of caves, the challenges each hole had, only complaint is that it has a pirate ship and had two courses but only one c ends on the pirate ship the other is just a "mystery hole" so kinda suckish last holes but awesome game play read more

This was a nice golf course. $18 for 18 holes for 2 people. The holes weren't bad at all. Someone in our party got a hole in one and it was his first tine golfing. There is a little train that takes you up to the first hole and then you can work at your own pace. Would recommend this place for anyone in the Kitty Hawk/Duck area. read more

Went on Easter Sunday and we had plenty of time for our family if 5 to enjoy! Course was in great shape and our kids (ages 5, 7, and 10) all did well! We did the Gold course and it was easy enough for everyone. Our 5 year old even got a hole in one! Would highly recommend! read more

A lot of effort put on the aesthetics of the place and to that effect the aesthetics are pretty good. The goofy little train ride that takes you to the first hole is a highlight. The downside is that the course design is boring and very unimaginative. Some are just a straight shot at the hole with no obstacles. It's OK but I'm sure there are better in the area. read more

Went here with my wife and 1 year old daughter. We loved it, as it has a river running around and through the whole course, has multiple waterfalls, caves, and a train ride up to the top of the course. Also, there are two courses (gold and diamond), we went two nights this week to try both. With all of the scenery, it kept my 1 year old preoccupied, which made the experience much more pleasant. If I had to give one critique, it's that there aren't any obstacles on the course itself. Even though there are all of the scenic features around the course, there aren't any windmills or anything so the holes are very straight-forward. read more

This mini golf course is truly bad. Despite lavish scenery each hole features a complete dearth of variety. I was disgusted by the way that every hole was essentially one large rectangle with the hole located in the 4th quadrant. Paying over $10 for an experience so underwhelming will surely encourage suicidal tendencies. Something needs to be done. Don't let Big-minigolf and its choke-hold on congress manipulate your life. Stand up for what's right. read more

Exciting courses with a good combination of easier to more challenging holes. Shaded areas. Decent amount of seating along the way. Handicapped accessible. Nice walking path around the green. read more

As you drive by this place and look at it you definitely say to yourself "I want to go and check that out!" Aesthetically it looks great, and the train ride to start off was a big hit for my son. Being his first mini-golf experience I hoped it would live up to the look from the outside but the course itself was disappointing. The holes were completely unimaginative and vanilla. Hardly an obstacle was to be found. Not to mention, the price was definitely expensive for mini-golf, so try to find the local coupon that gives you $1 off. The only benefit after shelling out the cash for the first go-round is that you can come back and play the 'other' course (they have 2) for $5 later in the day. I imagine that the other course - which is visible alongside the first - is pretty much as uninspiring as the one we played. Have to say it was a letdown from a mini-golf standpoint, but the fact that it was my son's first time out made it fun anyway. read more

We had a great time with the kids (ages 5-9). The Gold course has a pirate ship & water falls. My 9 year-old scored 50 on all 18 holes. It's fun & easy enough for kids. I scored a 54, so it isn't TOO easy, lol. read more

Lost Treasure Golf - A green ON the pirate ship!! What fun! - Mini Golf Near Me - Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina

Our family had a blast at this massive, moderately challenging mini golf course during our OBX vacation. From the 'mine train' that takes golfers to the first hole, to the pirate ship and massive waterfall that serve as backdrops for the adventure, everything about this course will amaze and entertain your kids. There's a bit of a wait at the entrance, as golfers queue up for the train ride, but once you get to the first hole, play moves at a nice clip. There are two different courses to play, each one with its share of tunnels, water hazards, and obstacles. Worth a visit. read more

We just had the absolutely best mini golf experience ever. We started off with a ride to our first hole which our son loved. The holes were challenging but fun. The course is in excellent condition. Very clean facility. We will be back next year. Highly recommend this mini golf place!!!! read more

We really enjoyed our game of mini golf at Lost Treasure Golf. The course was a cute theme, but the holes were lacking. Each course was fairly easy so it didn't make for a very long game since we could breeze right through. The train ride was a fun addition to the course, & I feel like it may be suited better for families with small children than just adults looking for a game of mini golf. read more

Fun for the whole family! Wish there were more hand sanitizer stations, my golf ball ended up touching a cigarette butt and there was no way to clean my hands after picking up the ball mid course. Kids had a great time. read more

This location consists of two courses. I played through the Diamond Course. It was fun though not very challenging. The course is well-maintained and family-friendly. The staff members we encountered during our visit were mostly nice. The only individual we found some issue with was the train operator. He seemed less than thrilled to be doing that job. It was not an issue for me. However, others may find his lack of personality somewhat rude. I would likely visit again and would recommend it to others based on my positive experience. read more

Super fun! Prices at the time were $8.75 for kids and 10.75 for adults. They offered two courses (called Gold and Diamond, I think?) and you could come back later that day for $5 a person to try the course you didn't get to do. They had a line on Saturday night, but it went fast enough. Gold was the easier one for sure. In fact, if you do Diamond just grab a couple of extra balls in case you lose yours in the water hazards. Both courses were equally well worth doing and the tractor train/mining cart ride up there was a pretty cool addition to an already epic mini golf set-up. Well worth the fun money! read more

We came here for miniature golf. The place is clean and well maintained. After paying, you take the train to your course, either the hold or diamond course. This was the first time I rode a train on a golf course, so this was a treat. The courses are not difficult to play. The cost to play is $11 for each adult. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking was not a problem. If you are in kitty hawk, I do recommend this place for miniature golf. read more

This is a great course! The mining cart ride in the beginning was really fun, and the two courses (gold and diamond) have both easy and difficult holes to play through. The setting is nice, and there are some holes with cool little shortcuts you can use if you know where to hit the ball just right. The downside is that it can get pretty busy, and I always have an urge to hide somewhere on the mining cart route and jump out at people when they ride by. I'd recommend it. read more

Seemed a little pricey, but the place looks like it took a lot to make. The course wasn't overly challenging, but it was still fun. I think they focused more on the atmosphere, which is quite impressive! The course starts off with a train ride! I have never experienced that at a mini golf course! Overall it was a lot of fun. Definitely recommend. read more

This place is SO much better than the mini-golf at the Timbuk II shopping center in Corolla! There are 2 courses, but you don't get to choose which one you play. Also, if my son played with a plastic putter (vs. a real one), he was free. Sure! And this is the first mini-golf I have been to where you take a train up to the top! Neat! We all had a great time. read more

The ride up to the first hole is the best part for the kids we took mini golfing. Three little ones under the age of 5 had a blast riding in the train to the top. We asked which course went on the pirate ship, and we were told to follow the gold course. The kids ran around and threw the golf balls in the hole without really using putters. It's pretty family friendly, but watch out for the stream by the pirate ship, you might lose your golf ball in there. We went in the off season. Maybe that's why it was only $9 instead of what others were charged. We also had our choice of Gold or Diamond course, and when we took the gold course, we DID go on the pirate ship. Others are right, the course was pretty easy, but the most fun was watching the kids enjoy themselves. read more

Fun course. We enjoyed the different arrangements in the setting (i.e. pirate ship, train, waterfall) that were built into the setting. Most of them do not play a role in the course which is otherwise pretty plain. A bit pricey as well but a fun night out while at the beach. Go early to avoid evening crowds. read more

I love mini golf and have played many courses.... This is one of the most fun! The course starts off with a ride up to the top of the "mountain" in a cool little mine train. You work your way through caves and waterfalls to the 18th hole. A cool little tip is to use an app called My mini golf scorecard. it takes the hassle out of balancing the score card. The staff is pleasant! I highly recommend it! read more

It's fun! Goofy, cheesy fun. Ride the "train" to your course, there are 2. Ours had a water hole (move ball towards the cup via stream) and a pirate ship. The course was clean and well maintained, the staff friendly. When you're in the mood for a round of mini-golf this place is a fine bit of entertainment. read more
