Very simple, not that challenging of a course. It is the perfect course for kids to play on. They have two 18 hole miniature gold courses to pick from or play both. read more

Certainly fun for someone's first time trying Minigolf. Not the most spectacular place, but definitely worth it if you're looking for a place to have fun with the family or friends. read more

$28 for 2 people for 1 game. We didn't get to choose between the two courses. The Train/mine cart was not available. All the holes were extremely basic and the water smelled absolutely awful read more

Wonderful mini golf experience, I even scored a hole in one (tho not on the mystery prize hole!). I love that they employ people with disabilities and have two different courses. Make sure you take the golf course if you want the pirate ship hole! Fun time with family! read more

exposed rebar? weird experience, some employees doing basketball moves while others lack a pulse, paid $85 (because they hate our armed forces) and after the 18th hole all of our balls had disappeared, most holes were missing whole sections of the walls so after losing multiple balls in the rivers we resorted to using human shields, a unruly clientele threw their golf club at another member of our party, the bathroom smells like orange gumdrops (weird smell for a bathroom), would've given 5 stars but when we got to the car our leftovers smelled bad. read more

We had a good time at this miniature golf location. The place was maintained very well and there was a nice ride up to the top in a train which the kids loved. The only complaint that I do have is that there are not very many obstacles. Each hole is basically a straight shot to the cup with a few exceptions. If you are looking to hit the ball into the front door of a miniature house or time your aim as to avoid the propellers of a windmill, this is not the place for you. It does have plenty to see though as you wind down from the top at hole 1 to the bottom at hole 18. There's a ship, a waterfall, a winding river through the golf course and plenty of bridges. This is not the best miniature golf course that I've been to but the kids had fun and it was nice clean fun. read more

This was a darling mini golf course that absolutely was the cherry on top of a fun trip to the OBX. It was $10/person and super cute. We loved the pirate ship! Also there's plenty of parking. read more

Who's the doofus who gave this course a 1 star review? Wow, I bet you're real fun at parties. Alright, first off, Yelp moderators, you need to update this. It's PROFESSOR HACKER'S Lost Treasure Golf. I damn near had to bust out a treasure map of my own to locate this on the Yelp Site. PROFESSOR HACKER'S. Got it? My kid sure as hell didn't say, "Hey look, it's Lost Treasure Golf" when we drove by it on 158. No, he always screamed "It's Professor Hackers!" Yes, as mentioned by...I dunno, the 16 other reviewers...there is a delightful mining car/train thingy that you ride to the top of the course. Have you ever been on anything like this at another putt-putt golf course? No, of course you haven't. So once you play at Professor Hacker's, it will ruin any other sub-par (pun intended) course you play. You'll be toodling around the course saying to yourself, "This is sorta fun, but where's the mining cars?" The kids love it. If the little ones play with an oversized plastic putter the game is OTH. Given the chance, I would try and do the Gold Course so you go through the pirate ship. Diamond side doesn't have much going on. So never stop searching, Professor Ephraim "Duffer" A. Hacker. Someday I'm sure you'll find a bevy of gold and diamonds and show them all that you weren't crazy. That is if you weren't eaten alive by alligators already. read more

We were excited to take our kids for a round of mini-golf. The woman working the counter was quick to tell us that they close at 8:00 pm even though their website clearly states that they close at 9:00 pm. So...we will not be stopping by this business again and will let our guests in our STR know that there are better options. read more

Super cool experience. My kiddos loves the choo choo train that takes you around. I love that we were divided from other families foe Covid reasons & we didn't have to rush getting out of anyone's way. Impressed with everything to see. We took 1000 pix! read more

Fun course for the kids, very fast greens, and expensive. My 8 year old loved the place because he got to ride a train up to the top and there are waterfalls and ships to explore. $11 for an adult and $9 for a kid. AND, you can't walk in with your kid...each child requires a paid adult. So you are looking at a minimum of $20. While the course is beautiful, all the holes play very fast. There are no real obstacles. Seems intentional to move people through quickly. I did wish the holes themselves were a little more creatively thought-out. They made up for it with the scenery, but we tore through the course way too quickly. They have two courses and alternate parties between the "Diamond" and "Gold" courses. So, that helps so you don't get stacked up on top of each other. Service was friendly, kid had fun. read more

I am not a big fan of golf, but this was a lot of fun. We paid about $22 for the two of us. There's a little train we had to ride to get to our course (there's 2 courses) as it starts at the very top. There was a lot of people at the course so we had to wait to do each hole. We didn't really mind the wait and used it as a chance to strategize how to hit a hole in one. It actually worked a couple times. It's nice that our ticket was also our score card so boyfriend and I kept track on who was more likely to be Tiger Woods (at the height of his career). As we made out way down the course, it does get more challenging. Some holes go though a cave, obstacles in the way, and raised terrain. There's one hole that affectionately call the "pimple" as it was raised when you hit try to get to the hole. Overall, the place is one of the best mini golf places I have been to. The course was expertly made rather than some half thought of nonsense that places try to overcharge you for. They also do a good job to keep the place clean. It also helps that I won on this course. ;) read more

Got assign the diamond course, Wish I got to play the gold course as well. It was a little higher price than most places but the vibes was good. And the train lol. read more

Just from the first impression, the establishment is the best looking mini golf course I've been to. They put effort into maintaining the cleanliness of the courses while making it a fun experience with the moving water and train ride. You have the option to try two different courses for $11 and the second for $5. We tried both and none of us regretted them. I would recommend trying the gold course for more of the funky strokes while the diamond is your more traditional mini golf. Both are just the right amount of difficulty for the beginner golfer. My only complaint is there's no par numbers next to the hole, which is something other minigolf courses I've been to have had. You can only find it in the score sheet. Not a biggie but maybe an extra step for future improvements. Overall: Experience: 5/5 Aesthetics: 5/5 Difficulty: 4/5 read more

One of the better looking and more exciting mini golf courses around. A nice mix of challenges, cool vibe. Staff is usually nice, even if its probably a different group each summer. I think I've been to at least 3 of the different Mini-gold courses around, this one is my favorite so far. read more

While the look of the course is great, the excitement ends there. The storyline is not continued throughout the course and is just confusing. They could have made it more interactive, especially with all the props they have. The train ride you can take to your course is more frightening than anything because of how broken it sounds. When they ask if you want to ride it, just say no. Since they have cool decoration, they assume they can be lazy with the actual course. But for people who actually go here for miniature golf, this is a boring choice. Most of the holes are similar with you shooting for a straight path. Where are the fun swervy, hilly, and blocked holes? Come on! Plus, you don't get to attempt a hole-in-one for a free game at the end. read more

This is probably the best miniature golf course I have ever experienced! I always come here anytime I visit the OBX. During my last visit, my boyfriend and I had a great time playing mini golf here. The price is affordable, the course is maintained very well, and each hole is unique and creative. The employees are friendly and helpful. We definitely enjoyed it here and would highly recommend it. If you're visiting the OBX and looking for something fun to do, Lost Treasure Golf is perfect! read more

Such a fun time! One of the biggest min-golf courses I have been to before. Not pricey by any means. Some of them were actually pretty challenging and more unique than most other courses I have been to in the past. Has two courses to spread out chaos and hopefully shorten wait times. Holes are pretty creative and there's a train to the starting hole which kids (and adults) love. read more

They offer 2 different courses. We were hoping for the Gold course with the pirate ship but we ended up on the Diamond course. It was 18 holes, which was a value for your money but our kids lost interest. It was crazy busy but only a 20 minute wait to get on the train that takes you to the 1st hole....oh yea there's a train! Its kinda cool if you're a little kid at heart like me! Not a bad experience, some challenging holes, good value, always fun for a family night read more

Went here with a party of 6 on a Monday night: 2 seniors, 2 adults, and 2 kids. $66! Vacation prices. It was fine, pretty standard mini golf. They have 2 courses, and a mine train takes you up to the starting point. The course isn't all that challenging, but the pace moves. It is well-maintained. The crowds came about 815 on a Monday night, so if you go after dinner, plan a bit of a wait. read more

I'm still a kid at heart in many ways so on my birthday weekend trip to the Outer Banks we decided to play a game of Putt Putt. I saw this Lost Treasure Golf from the highway by our hotel. It looked like a cool golf course. I understand that you have to make a lot of the holes easy for children but this was probably the most unchallenging courses I have ever played Putt Putt on. I thought for the price the course would have been more challenging. Nevertheless, we had a fun time. read more

I found this Golf Course in one of the Coupon Savers book and decided to give it a whirl as we were in town for a long weekend. It was Easter day and was pleased to find it open! With a $1 off coupon, it was $29 for 2 adults and 1 child. The train ride to the start of the course was a nice added touch and made a more memorable experience. The course itself was very modern and clean. Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our mini-golf experience here and even opted for the $5 second round. It may not be the cheapest option in the area but it is very nice. read more

Lost Treasure Golf - One of the best Mini Golf courses I've been too - loved the train ride! - Mini Golf Near Me - Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina

This miniature golf focused mainly on the aesthetic portion instead of the creativity of the mini golf courses. There are two courses the gold and diamond course. We were assigned the diamond course and was disappointed with the whole experience. All the holes were 90% the same. All straight shots on level ground. There was even a course where the balls were easily swept away into the water and into the pond and never to be seen again.... if you go on this course bring an extra ball with you. There was a pirate ship that you could play on but sadly that was only available to players on the gold course. Horrible experience would not recommend or go again. Only fun part was the train you take to go to the assigned course although there is a long wait for that. Price for adult 11.50 for a boring and unchallenging experience. read more

We have been going to Lost Treasure putt putt probably 15 or 20 years and this time will be our last. We have timeshares in June and August so we have come a lot. Our timeshare has free putt putt and we don't even play. Our four kids love going to Lost Treasures. Wife and I always go during the day when it's not many people because we don't care to play. We always walk around and take pictures. We have free putt putt at our timeshare and don't play. This year they told us only one could walk around in the group. We could have lied and said we were two groups but we didn't feel that was right to do. There are other golf places around so we will be going to those places next time. read more

Pretty basic holes, but a good set up. Very efficient, clean, and course is kept up well. Cute train ride at the beginning to start your journey! read more

This place was so fun!! My kids and I had a fabulous time. It started off with a short train ride to the courses. We did the Gold course which went onto a pirate ship, through a cave, and near the water. I highly recommend it. read more

For those who didn't know, this is a chain. We've run into them in at least 5 different beaches now. However, that's not a negative, the folks behind this know how to make a great mini-golf. Lots of hole variety. Two 18 hole courses. A cool story if your kids are the right age to follow along. The train ride looks cheesy, but does add to the flair of the place. Several trick holes that once you learn let you be the expert of the group. Overall I would say it's the best mini-golf in OBX. read more

If you are looking for a miniature golf location , this is the best. It starts with a train ride to the top of the course, which is very cool. There are multiple courses so you never feel pressured by players behind you. The facility is extremely clean and well maintained. There are not a lot of Obstacles like at other courses, but there several tunnels that provide shade on those hot days, which was a nice break from the heat. A must when in OBX read more

I always try to play mini golf on vacation so I fell into the tourist trap but, that's what these places are all about. You take a mining car ride to the first hole which I am sure is super fun for every kid who comes here and I enjoyed it too. The holes are well maintained but, be prepared for a slow go with all the kids playing day or night. I thought the holes were really easy and I would have liked to have seen a little bit more of a challenge but, the pirate ship and waterfalls were nice touches. The only reason that I am giving it three stars is because I thought it was really overpriced at $11.00/per adult and $9.00/per kid. read more

Fun backdrop for the evening with the big pirate ship and waterfall, but the holes themselves aren't that engaging. Also, there are many holes that are in covered tunnels that are swelteringly hot. It's not a bad course, but I would go when it's not too hot outside and have moderate expectations. read more

Very nice course and we also enjoyed the go-karts. Arcade is a bit on the expensive side and several machines were down during our visit.

I would give this course five stars if rating it just on the aesthetics. The condition of the greens and cups is pretty perfect, the props are well kept up, and the multi-level aspect with all of the "caves" puts this into one of the neater courses I've played. As for the actual golf part of it, most of the holes are minimally challenging - and as with so many courses, the balls all end up congregating near the same place if you don't hit a hole in one. We played all 36 holes, and there's not much difference between the Gold and Diamond courses, although I would probably recommend the Gold course if you're only going to do one. If nothing else, you get you play on the pirate ship. The train ride at the beginning was a nice bonus for the kids. There's a coupon for $1 off every game in your party if you visit the website. I just saved the coupon as a picture on my phone and showed it when checking in. If you play a 2nd round, it's only $5/person. read more

We had an ok time but I think it would have been better if we didn't go directly after a hurricane. They have multiple courses here so you don't get stuck behind people but the one course was damaged from rain so literally everyone was waiting all the time to go through 1 course. Overall it was tedious but at times fun. I think it's a little over priced. I paid over $60 for 2 kids and 3 adults to play putt putt. That's kind of ridiculous. read more

Almost every time my family visits OBX we like to play miniature golf. This has been our favorite in the area. The landscaping is nice, they keep it well maintained, and it is a fun course. My kids love the train at the beginning that takes you to the top of the course. All of the props and décor really makes it fun and stand out from the rest. It is only 50 cents more than their main competitor and well worth it. At the beginning of the course they have drink machines for you. All throughout the course there are nice benches and trashcans in the shape of barrels. This helps make it comfortable and clean. the course is tricky, but not so difficult children can't enjoy it. The workers were all pleasant and we did not feel rushed or bothered by others on the course. We definitely felt like we got our money's worth and we really enjoyed playing. Oh and if you were wondering...I won. LOL read more

The best part was the mining cart ride that takes you from the entrance to the beginning of the course. There are two courses, Diamond and Gold, but you don't get to choose your course. We were assigned the Gold course. Some of the holes were too hard, and some were just right. They put a 6-stroke limit on the course to keep play going, but I think play moved too quickly because we had to keep letting people go in front of us. There was definitely a back-log of traffic on the course, which just adds to the stress when you're trying to meet par! We went midday and it was still very crowded. Maybe we should have waited until the evening so it would have been cooler. Thankfully, there were vending machines at the beginning of the course (which you had to go all the way back through to get to). It would have been better if there was another vending machine towards the middle of the course. There was actually nothing special about this golf course in terms of decoration and theme, it was a tad disappointing. We did get a free coupon for Rita's Shaved Ice though! I would not visit this golf course again. read more

Our group of 6 adults came here for a friendly mini golf competition during our recent trip to the Outer Banks. Someone vaguely remembered as a child coming here and loving the train, so we made the drive from Corolla. In retrospect, probably not worth the 30 minute drive since there are so many courses in the area, but we made the most of it. I could definitely see how the kids would love the train - it is an element that sets this course apart from other courses. It also does a great job of controlling the number of people on the course and gives groups lead time to get started so no one feels rushed. The actual course itself was kind of boring. Like others have mentioned, there's not a lot that keeps it interesting - they're all very straightforward holes. Our group of 6 was able to take our time and play through in about an hour and a half. Boring course aside, this place had an impressive crowd when we arrived and as we were leaving - seems to be pretty popular, especially with the kids! Not sure I'd come back unless accompanied by some little ones, but it was a good time overall. read more

We are a family of 5 looking for some after beach activities, and came across this place. Cute theme, however it was very expensive and went really quick so if you are looking for a tourist trap this is the place for you. read more

My friends and I picked this golf location because of proximity and the fact they were open until 11 (it was about 9 when we first considered going). And the giant pirate ship out in front sure lures you in. It costs $9.50 to play which I guess is a little pricey but didn't bother us. The cashier then gives us our playbook which also happens to tell us which course we'll be on, although we don't realize this until after the awesome train ride to the 2 courses. Somehow everyone on the train got stuck on the gold course which caused some backup while the diamond course had no one waiting in line. The courses themselves were a little too easy. I thought they were supposed to get a little more difficult at each hole? A lot of them were basically a straight shot to the hole - no rock, no bump, nothing. Not at all challenging. Also the gold course didn't take us up on the pirate ship. Overall the experience was fun but considering how many mini golf establishments I've been to on various beach trips, this was pretty disappointing. The only redeeming factor was they played Michael Jackson hits which were enjoyable, but kind of weird considering it's a pirate themed course. read more

Cool landscaping and branding, but crappy putt-putt course. Each of the holes are very similar if not the same, and they have nearly no obstacles or dynamic aspects (windmills, loop-de-loops, trap doors, etc.). Unexciting and predictable.
