We only played arcade games we did not do the laser tag even though we should probably consider doing that sometime in the future. My kids are still a little too small to enjoy it. However, we played arcade games and my son had a lot of fun. The place is clean and the staff is very very friendly. We had a great time here and will definitely be back. read more

Great for a day away from the beach. The facility and equipment are fantastic. My kids love this place.

Very fun 10 minute sessions which didn't feel super short. They had 2 different levels or floors on the actual laser tag arena.

Not a place as a parent I would recommend, but of course kids love it. This is the second time that I have reluctantly came here because to me it is a money trap. If they kids had to spend their own money would they do so? On a gorgeous day at the beach my youngest insisted that she needed to try laser tag, something she had never done. Being the Dad who seems to always spoil and can never say no I said okay against my better judgement with previous experience. Location is around mile marker 10, but sorry that I don't have an exact as I forgot to look. It is behind a Dunkin Donuts. Plenty of parking and the lot was clean. When you have great parking and it's clean that puts a business in at least 3 range. Woman at front who helped was friendly enough, but even though no one else was playing tag she would not budge off of pricing, or provide a discount. Look for coupons, they are around in Sunny Days etc. Very pricey and in my opinion as an adult not worth $10 for 15 min of play. There is a small arcade in front as you enter. Everything was clean, even the restrooms. So again for me signs that it is well managed and would not think of less than a on par review. The briefing video earns applause because it is downright hysterical. Everyone must do this before entering to get your jacket and your code name...I was Flash. It's one size jacket fits all so if you have too young of children say 8 and under they will be big most likely. The Game Master remains with you in briefing and in the game to assist with anything that may come up. You can talk to them and ask questions if you wish. Once jackets are on you enter and attempt to shoot at other players and take out your opponents base. In this case it was one other player which really defeats the fun the less you have. It is two story so hint, hint if you want to do well have someone on your team try for base an the other get up top to attack from up top and protect your base. Total time inside is 15 minutes. Overall a place that charges this much does not set well with me, but again kids love it. Find coupons, or discuss group sales for better pricing. There were several areas that I pointed out that provide at least a on par review, to slightly above. If the game is full there is more fun to be had, so recommendation is to just say no if only a few as it's a huge wast of money. read more

OBX Laser Tag - Blue Base taken out - Laser Tag Near Me - Nags Head, North Carolina

Nearing the end of a week in Corolla, we needed a break from the beach and pool - this worked fine. My oldest was able to play a round of laser tag. ($9 seemed reasonable) while my 2 and 9 year olds played on the two moon bounces. The arcade is just a dozen or so games, but was just fine. I liked that they had pinball and Galaga - classics for mom. My high score might hold for a while. For $10 in tokens, we played for a while. The kid area had toys that were a little worn, but the moon bounces seemed okay. For $5, it got out all the extra energy. Met our needs for a day out. As long as you keep expectations basic, you'll have fun! read more

OBX Laser Tag - Inflatables - kids under 12 can play for $5 - Laser Tag Near Me - Nags Head, North Carolina

Dirty, poor customer service, over priced. 1/2 the place was out of order. Not worth going.

We had never been to a place with a laser tag area that was this large and had two stories. My husband, kids, and I had a blast with laser tag. The kids also enjoyed the arcade. read more

Get the 3 game package...better deal for $21+. Single play is usually $9. My teenage son loves it and we come every year at least 2x if not more. Its a Glow in the dark laser tag so don't wear bright clothes if you want to play for real ;) For little ones, there is enough arcade games to keep then busy. read more

Booked a party of 15 for my sons 8th birthday. Showed up to check in my group, after waiting 20-25 minutes for the register attendant to assist another customer was told to go to the party room. At this pony in time I was approached by another parent indicating that she had the room booked for her sons party. Spoke to the young lady at the front desk who notified me that they gave my time slot to someone who didn't show up to their scheduled party the day prior. When I asked for a refund of my deposit so that we could go elsewhere, she told me they didn't offer refunds and she needed to speak with her manager about what to do. After waiting another 10 minutes I was given the option to receive my deposit back or play laser tag and not have the party my son, his friends and family were expecting. Needless to say we will NOT be going back or recommending this business in the future. read more

Had a great time with the fiancé at this spot! The laser tag area was on two floors, adding another whole level of fun. Each "battle" goes on for about 15 minutes, and while waiting there are loads of arcade games to play! read more

Back when I was a wee shaver, we had this place in Baltimore called Photon. The gear weighed hundreds of pounds, the guns didn't work half the time, and everything was covered with this mixture of sweat and smoke machine goo. Kids today have it so much easier. I mean, you can *see* the frickin' lasers when you shoot! The gear is light and reliable! The arena owns a vacuum cleaner! Definitely a good stop on a hot day. read more

Tons of fun. Brought kids ages 6-14 and everyone had a good time. Wish the sessions were a bit longer but really no complaints. Good clean multilevel arena with nice modern working equipment. Great way to spend an hour. read more

Did this with my two of kids ... a lot of fun . Two levels so there was a bigger area . Better than other laser tag that we've done.

You watch a 3 min video, split into 2 teams (red & blue), then go blast each other while walking around a dimly lit, smokey 2 story room with walls.... just awesome! Drew is the best game master! read more

Friendly staff, good arcade games and Lazer tag is fun. A little pricey for a game but the equipment is modern and the play area is nice

This place is cool, we went on a rainy day during our beach trip. The laser tag guns and vests are new and work well. The "playing field" has good options for cover and different strategy offerings. We didn't play many arcade games but it appeared to be a decent offering. The staff was friendly. It is confusing because it's under the Gearworks Laser Tag sign but it's been renamed (and apparently greatly improved). read more

My daughter is ten and she loves this place. Employees are good with kids. Most popular laser tag on the beach so my only child has someone to play with. read more

We went to OBX Laser Tag to give the kids something different to do. The service was awesome! The young lady who appeared to be the manager was extremely friendly. The kids played one game of laser tag and I felt it was worth $9, it's much more expensive at other places we've been to. We will definitely come back again if vacationing in the area. read more

Gearworks is basically a big laser-tag place with a small arcade in the waiting area. The laser-tag games are fun, especially if you're in a big group and it's later at night when the place isn't too busy. The equipment is pretty good as well. You can sometimes get people who run around doing crazy things like trying to jump from obstacle to obstacle and hanging from 2nd floor balconies (there are two floors) trying to shoot people, but for me, that just adds to the experience. I'd recommend it. read more

clean. nice. open. fun. BUT an off-the-clock employee played with our group and completely took the fun out of it for our kids by using a weapon that was 'rigged' so he could shoot everyone (thereby making their weapons useless for portions of time), while his weapon was never knocked out when he was hit. The management said sorry but didn't offer our group any restitution. For a group of 14 people, it was bitter and a bummer. Overall, the place is a good, clean place. read more

Solid arena and arcade. The arcade sits back from the street, behind the Dunkin Donuts. The game arena is a spacious two level with plenty of vests and lasers for up to 20 players per team. The staff is helpful and the location is clean and in good repair. The arcade is a little cramped, but overall a fun the for the whole family. read more

We had a great time with our two games. We had a group of 19-29 year-olds and everyone enjoyed it. The playing area was spacious and had an interesting feature of "bases" for extra points. There is a "smoke" feature which is a little excessive and slightly uncomfortable. Other than that, it was a fun game for a decent price. read more

A definite must do. You will work up a sweat playing this. Make sure you buy the 3 game ticket.

Zero stars. I came here with my family and some big guy that calls himself the "game master" was rude to my kids. Really really low customer service. Avoid this place like the plague. A bit overpriced with the tickets. Don't buy any package deals. read more

This is a quality-run establishment that understands the meaning of customer service! All the machines are in good working order, the employees are OVER THE TOP conscientious, family oriented and polite. Our group of seven had a fabulous time there on Wednesday. Even our young grandson loved his first laser tag experience. They were all so nice to our three year old granddaughter as well! I highly recommend this for families from the very young to older folks who will easily access the facility on a nice elevator. Big thumbs up! read more

We didn't do laser tag, because we have small children. We came here because of the arcade and inflatable room. The inflatable room contains two bounce houses. My kids enjoyed themselves. The arcade section is very small, and most of the games were geared toward older kids. It was a good diversion for an hour before dinner. read more

Went with my family and it was really fun! The arcade was a little small but the laser tag part was amazing! We got there early and played two rounds by ourselves and it seemed to get more crowded into the afternoon. It was very fun and I will definitely be going there again! read more

Went down here with a 12 other folks earlier today. Was hoping to take advantage of the $25 advertised unlimited laser tag deal. Despite both the web site and the brochures right in front of their register claiming that all day was $25, they refused to honor the advertised rate. Went to destination fun down the road instead. $20 play-all-day, and the staff was exceptionally accommodating, letting us try out a bunch of different games. read more

We had so much fun today playing two games of laser tag with friends! Our game master was great with the kids and so friendly! We would absolutely go here again! read more

I saw a man take a dump right on the floor in the bathroom I didn't really like that.

My son had his birthday party here and both kids and adults had a blast! With 2 levels to spread out on and lots of places to hide, we had so much fun! What a great way to spend a rainy or hot day. Price was reasonable and we plan to go back on the Friday nights when they have play all night for one price. Definitely recommend! read more

This place was awful. The staff was rude, unorganized, and all around unprofessional. We were treated like we were a nuisance instead of paying customers. The equipment didn't work either. All around, it was an awful experience. read more

I have played at about a dozen lasertag centers, and this is one of the best. The course was very interesting and fun for all. The equipment worked great too, which is usually a big challenge at most centers. The gaming arcade was just okay, but overall, I would definetly recommend this place! read more

They fail to tell you that if a large group comes in they will take priority over unlimited play or any package (buy a 3 Game card). Good time playing but staff is selective in what they tell you. They also tend to be very rude and short after they have your money. read more

I would always go with my family to play laser tag. The employees are nice and help you in many ways. There is always multiple people there and you can choose your teams. They have snacks drinks to refuel. Arcade games for kids. They have a seating area for it somebody in your group feels like taking a break. I would recommend this for birthdays or just some fun. read more

Will not honor gearworks punch cards. won't be back. wouldn't cost them anything to let kids play. normally go about everytime we visit....not anymore. read more

If by wanting to play laser tag you actually mean you want to pay 23$ (supposedly for unlimited game play from 7:00pm-12:00pm) to wait for one game, have the equipment not work for you, not be able to finish the game, then wait around for the rest of the night for our group to be called to go back in while other groups go two and three times before you're even thought about being allowed back in. Then by all means go you'll have a great time. But if you're like me you'd rather watch paint dry. And in all actuality I would be willing to personally buy the paint to supply for drying then go back there again. The only reason they have one star is because I couldn't write a review without one. read more

Although the laser tag was good and the kids enjoyed the day, the management and operations at this place are a total joke. They do everything they can to rip you off including misinformation about pricing packages, they force you to wait for long periods between games (sometimes 30 minutes or more), and they try to force you into spending more money on arcade games and food. it's dirty and not very pleasant - I would avoid this place and find a better alternative!! read more

This was one of the worst laser tags I have ever played. As an avid laser tag player, I was most disappointed with the quality of this arena and equipment. I purchased a 3-game pass and didn't even bother to play the third game. The game starts with an extremely cheesy 5-minute instructional video that serves only to reprimand visitors who might want to have fun whilst playing. "The Chief", the video's host, reminds players that should they make any noise or move too much, the video will have to be restarted. Once the video is over, players enter the vesting room, where they are placed on a team and must choose from pre-selected code names. This was a huge disappointment, as picking names is one of the highlights of any laser tag experience. The vest selection is where the game is won or lost. Due to technical wizardry, the wearer of the blue "Napalm" vest cannot be tagged, resulting in much frustration. Even when the game starts, the arena is boring and symmetrical, with background music consisting solely of awful excuses for EDM. Once a player is tagged, they can still be tagged while down, which discourages any chance of escape and fair play. Should the untaggable Napalm choose to corner you, prepare to spend the entirety of the game losing point after point as the gamemaster looks on, reminding you that running will disqualify your team. All in all, a truly mediocre experience. In the future, I will take my laser tag talents elsewhere. read more

Went on Saturday of labor day weekend about 8:30 and it was crowded. Our group paid the special 7 - midnight price $17, and played 6 games (less people showed up after 10). They do allow a lot of players at the same time (maximum of 20 on each team) which makes it very crowded and not as much fun, but still a good deal when you get to play as much as we did. They have a scoreboard which you can see how your team did and how you did (you are ranked by your points). It gets hot and sometimes when you put the equipment on, it is wet with sweat. Gross! For spectators, there is an observation area to watch the action. Something fun to do once on vacation. I would rank it higher but think they allow too many players at one time. read more
