Safety is the priority for this experience so the entire crew spends time walking you through "gearing up" and what you need to do to progress from each challenge across the 5 levels. You start at the bottom and work your way up---as you go higher the challenges become greater. Every challenge is a puzzle to figure out and that's important because you CAN SUCCESSFULLY DO EVERY ONE! There are staff located on every level to guide you through each task so no worries there! Our favorite activity in Nags Head! (Other than the beach itself of course). Challenging ropes course but very safe and professional. Also love how there are many different difficulty levels; perfect for kids or wannabe Ninja Warriors!! Staff is very supportive and friendly. Second year in a row where we met staff member Ben, who watched out for us and encouraged us on all the obstacles. Makes the experience so much better. (Thanks Ben!) This is the one activity in Nags Head we'll be sure to do every year. Try it out!!! read more

The staff were friendly and helpful. There were 4 levels and each level has 2 courses. I had trouble at level 4. It was fun. Bring a bottle of water with you. Great place for family and group of friends, make some memories. You also get a great view of the water. read more

Came here expecting it to be like any other normal ropes course. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the staff went above and beyond and made my experience superior. They conduct a helpful training session so don't worry if you're not sure about the use of the equipment. Be prepared to be there for 2 hours....and pace yourself. This is not an easy course to complete. But it is a lot of fun. The only con: the price. It's $49 a person. read more

THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME!!! There are 6 total courses and any level can definitely make it through at least a few. I ended up doing the highest 4 levels and it was exhausting and super good exercise. This was a great place, and until we were getting ready to go I had 5 stars in mind for the review. Unfortunately, the camera equipment completely missed my son, and instead we got pictures of someone else. I would have taken my own photos if I knew this, but since they supposedly do it automatically I figured I could just have fun and look at the pictures they took. When I expressed my disappointment in this we were offered a bumper sticker. Great. $100 for a bumper sticker. Thanks a bunch. Sorry, but I will not come back here, the lack of any attempt to make it right was a huge turn off and ruined the experience for me. read more

Went Tuesday during the incredible winds. I am 50 and went with my 14 and 12 year old sons. Professional staff. Equipment is in great condition. 4 levels, each one harder the higher up you go. Staff connects you in and out of each level. I did the first two levels. My older son did all four levels. Some younger children did three levels with a parent. Photography was okay. I'd pay a little more for better photos. Everything was great. We'd definitely go again. One of the kids favorite things to do on our visit to the OBX. read more

I hate giving this place less than 5 stars because I have loved it the last few years I have gone! Unfortunately, I drove 30 minutes from Duck the other day only to find out that they were closed. There was no sign on the door, and no message on their answering machine. I posted on their Facebook after realizing I should have checked there first and explained my situation. They deleted my comment, despite the respectful complaint I posed. Their answering machine says very clearly that they are "open EVERY day" and there is a post on their Facebook that shows a picture of someone in rain gear that they are "open rain or shine". At this point, I'm just disappointed and surprised at the lack of customer service and coverup of a less than thrilled customer. read more

Went yesterday and had a blast. Our 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son loved every minute of it. We plan to make this a return trip. Can't say enough wonderful things about the staff, they were caring and considerate and went above and beyond for our kids. I knew going into it that it was an obstacle course but didn't realize there would be so many zip lines. The combination of obstacles and zip lining made for an awesome experience. The only negative is that there weren't many pictures. Had we known that going in I would have tried to take some of my own. I recommend having a camera at or near the ring obstacle since the background with the sound is so eye catching. Can't wait to go back next year! read more

The staff was so kind. They explained everything thoroughly. I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I was very excited for their obstacle course. I did one just like it in Oregon and got to the top level. But here I got a really bad migraine on the 3rd level and they did not hesitate to help me get off. Everything about FFAP is awesome. From the views to the course to the employees and the overall vibe. The individuals clearly work hard to make sure you have fun and make you feel welcome and included. That cannot be undervalued. It can also be as challenging or easy as you make it from holding on to your line to closing your eyes. It's all up to you. It's also super easy to spend the 2 hours here and so worth the money. Horrible service... before my daughter and niece started we specifically asked if they could be brought down if they couldn't continue. The staff said yes, there are multiple exit areas. Well, that did not happen. They both asked to exit multiple times and were NOT allowed. One of the guides told my daughter "you can stand there all day, it's fine by me". We talked to the manager on staff and he was not very helpful. He had a smirk on his face that clearly made us feel like he didn't care. Beware, don't let young kids do this course alone. read more

Had a great time with our family of four - 2 adults, a 13 year old and a 10 year old in mid-April. We bought passes online the day before, and it was nice to have a specific time to arrive. The check in, suiting up and mini training took about 30 minutes, then we had a full 2 hours on the courses. The courses were very challenging, but the staff was great and encouraging, giving lots of helpful tips and staying positive. It was certainly a big ticket item at $50 each, but definitely worth the experience. This was our favorite activity of our week long outer banks spring break trip. read more

We always love visiting First Flight Adventure Park when visiting the OBX! The course is made to challenge all levels. We went over Thanksgiving weekend and there was a little rain, but the course remained open and staff were extremely polite and helpful. The staff are very nice and helpful. Staff are very thorough and make sure everyone's safe. Man, this is a workout! Your upper body will be called upon to pull you up. Your arms will burn and you'll need a nap. Watch out for the kayak. We haven't made it to the top level yet. Would give it 5 except for the muscle pain (says my 10-yo who did the rating). read more

The kids climbed all around this obstacle course. It was challenging, but they enjoyed the activity itself. We took the last reservation time for the day (6:00PM - 7/15/16). My kids said the workers on the course were not overwhelmingly friendly and seemed more interested in getting off work a little early. I even heard one of them allude to that when we were returning the harnesses and helmets. read more

I am sure one of my sons will enjoy himself. But my other son decided when we arrived that he didn't want to participate. I made a 9:30 reservation. When I told them one boy decided not to do this they informed me I had to pay full price because I didn't cancel before the reservation time. Even though it was 9:20, 10 minutes before the reservation they said it was too late. Really? Very poor customer service. I would not have minded paying some kind of cancellation fee but this was never disclosed over the phone. I have been in customer service for over 30 years and have never heard of this type of policy without disclosure. If anyone in your party is on the fence DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION!!! Because they will charge you if they decide not to do it. Will not recommend this place to anyone and this is only because of bad customer service! Beware! read more
