Bottom Line: Three nine-hole miniature golf courses and bumper cars. In full disclosure, my husband and I played all three courses at Corolla Adventure Golf on an October weekend and literally had the whole place to ourselves. The weather was perfect and we had a blast. Now, had it been a hot and humid summer night with mosquitos, heat and big crowds we probably wouldn't have had as much fun. In theory I like the concept at Corolla Adventure Golf. Instead of having a single 18-hole golf course they have three nine-hole golf courses. I think this is a nice approach because sometimes you might have younger kids with you that are only going to hang in there for about nine holes. BUT, and it's a big but, another Yelper noted that you have to pay for all 18 holes. Ugh. I didn't notice that when I was there since my husband and I were in for all 27 holes. Anyway, the three courses are the Whalehead Course, the Fisherman's Course and the Wild Horses Course. We enjoyed the first two courses the most. Some of the holes were designed where you needed to hit the ball in the water and then the ball is carried downstream and back to the putting green. Those holes were fun because it was a lot of luck involved. Overall, the course was in good shape. We played on a Saturday in October and the price was $10 per person for all 27 holes which seemed like a decent deal for miniature golf at the beach. We did not try the bumper cars. read more

The basic premise is that there are three nine holes courses here and also a small (and I mean small) bumper car area. We did not do the bumper cars and during our visit here neither did anyone else except for the staff. Maybe when it's busy, on a weekend or more in season things are done with more order but my observation is that everything here is basically a free for all. You have to pay for at least 18 holes (i.e. two of the courses) and past that you can either pay for the third or you bring one of the coupons, which are everywhere online or in the area, for the third course to be "free". Now I say "free" because no one is watching what's going on or keeping track. Want to play the same course three times or pay for two and keep going on for another round or two or six? You probably could no problem. Everything is on the honor system. After the 9th hole of a course you just pick up your ball and do whatever you want. The two staff members were mostly sitting in bumper cars talking or I guess on their phones. One family playing in front of us said they were playing their 5th round. The courses are overall in good shape. A few holes are missing tee off mats and a few of the flag sticks looked like they're patched but the carpets are very fast and smooth. Some of the holes I guess could be classified as challenging but we had several holes in one in our group so by no means is anything here too tough. If need be on site they also have a fair amount of parking, restrooms and beverage vending. Pricing is $10 for 18 and you can play 27 for $15 or by bringing the coupon for the free third course. They do not have a website and their FB page has not been touched since last year. Certainly not the best beach mini golf ever but also certainly not the worst and it beats driving all the way to Manteo or KDH. read more

Took the family there for my Niece's birthday. You get to play any of the three, nine-hole "courses." Clubs and balls were fine and - surprisingly - the putting surface was high quality (it looked new). It was not too crowded, and the whole family enjoyed themselves. Nice! read more

Not the golf adventure we were hoping for. Filthy bathrooms with no toilet paper first thing in the morning! It was blazing hot and there was no shade anywhere. If you were thirsty because of the blazing heat, you'd HAVE to buy a drink because no one is using the water fountains. There was trash everywhere. The sign said don't walk on the rocks. But there were few paths to walk on and we constantly didn't know where to stand. One of the bushes was overgrown and as a left handed player, I had to back into the bush to hit my ball from the starting point. Definitely will never go here on any future trips. read more

The real name of this place is "Corolla Adventure Golf AND Bumper Cars". The miniature golf was good with several other customers; but the high light was the bumper cars. The three young grandsons enjoyed it; but, grand ma, age 77, did this for the first time in her life. She laughed and enjoying all the action. This is your pretty standard mini golf course. No frills and most holes are honestly pretty boring (just a straight shot), but they have cool features like the lighthouses and a miniature Whalehead club in the middle of the course. Also, what is really great is it is divided into 3 nine hole courses - perfect for kids of any age. You can do any or all of the 3 courses, and if you don't get to do all 3 you can get a rain check to come back later in the week. It's the perfect model when you have no idea how many holes you'll get through before the meltdowns begin (we miraculously got through all 27 in one shot!) No worries about little ones only being able to get through 9 or 18 holes! Lastly, do the bumper cars! We did it with 4 adults and 2 kids and the adults had just as much fun the 5 and 7 year old! I think they said they'd been around for around 10 years, but it really doesn't show. The place is super well maintained (well, except for one ball... plate that was missing). The courses are inventive, I guess. But what do I know? I'm not a minigolf course architect. Decent way to kill some time. The space itself isn't gigantic, so if you're a large group (or there are obnoxiously eager kids behind you), it can get claustrophobic. I write this review from the viewpoint of a person that just came here to use the golf section, I did not partake in any other area they had here. The pricing is decent for what you get here. $10 gets you 18 holes on their miniature golf course (if you pick up one of those tourist books and get there before a certain time, you get 27 holes at a discount). There are three different nine hole courses to choose from and it does not matter which way you go. The courses are cleverly designed to confuse you in a way to think that you could lose a ball easily on the course. It is quite fun and some holes make you think. I am sure that this place will be busy as the tourist season moves forward, but we were not pushed along the courses as we played our game. The staff was polite and accommodating to our needs. Visited for date night on vacation 2 weeks ago. The Good: Course was nice, well maintained, open late (we showed up at 10 minutes to 9pm) The Bad: The lady that we paid seemed like she hates working there. We were asked if we wanted 18 or 27. I asked her if 27 was half the same course again (I've seen courses at 12 and 18 holes but not 3 each at 9.) She repeated "18 or 27" with no explanation. Paid for 18 and she just pointed to the clubs over on the counter and started looking at her phone. - That's why it's 4 not 5. Also, apart from the 4-Star review there were a LOT of small children 2-4 maybe that weren't happy about being up that late. Additionally, there were about 5 groups of 6 high school/ college students launching balls between the two courses. You should probably go during the day or afternoon to avoid that going on. read more

Great place! The bumper cars were really fun and the guy at the register threw in a second round for free! Nice guy!! We played the golf course too and it was filled with fun decor that included horses, a large dollhouse and waterfalls. Gotta love miniature golf when there's a waterfall. The course was fun with entertaining obstacles and simple enough for all ages. The kiddos loved it as did the grandmas. Good to find something outdoors besides the beach, which was too cold. I had an awesome time playing the 3, 9-hole matches in a competitive tournament with my partner. The courses are about the same difficulty and fun for all ages. It can be busy so you do have to wait for the group ahead of you at some points but this shouldn't be too much of an issue if you go earlier in the day. We went around mid day and there were about 10 others on the courses and only had to wait a couple times. Would recommend this place as the top tier OBX mini golf spot! read more

$7 per person for 3 minutes and 30 seconds of spin zone bumper cars is a total ripoff (went so fast I asked the guy there how long it was). The kids like it but it's such a waste of money. Also, if your kid is under 3 ft. tall and/or 5 years old, you'll have to ride with them and STILL pay the full amount for each rider (this makes your 3 minute 30 second ride $14 for the two of you!). read more

The courses were cute and different themes that coincide with North Carolina. It seemed expensive since we have twin 3 year olds and we don't pay very often for them to play. As we returned our balls, I noticed that the pricing board said 3 and under are free. When I told the girls at the desk that my boys were 3 and my husband overpaid, they laughed at me and disagreed that they were 3. I told them I could prove it and one girl replied "Well too bad she didn't know". They then both laughed again. It was the weirdest reaction I've ever experienced and we just walked away stunned. This was a great course! I think that there's a little disparity between the courses though, because our competition saw a team have 6 holes in one on one course (that nobody else went on) while only getting one hole in one for their second 9 holes on a different course. Each hole was well maintained and had a good amount of challenge for people of all ages, and the whole place definitely catered to a tournament. In fact, we had 30 people playing in groups of 4 and 3 and it was absolutely perfect! I'd definitely recommend it, and I'm sure we'll be back again next year. My only tip/complaint is that playing at night is difficult because there's not much light. Corolla Adventure golf could definitely do with more lighting on some of the holes, since many are either entirely in the dark or just have lights that cast long, distracting shadows. read more

It's been a few years since we've been to Corolla Adventure Golf and I'm pleased to say that we had just as much fun as we did back then. I was amazed that the greens and the little buildings on the grounds were fresh, clean, and well maintained. All the signs were bright, the water features were clean, paths were clear and the features like the pirate ship, the lighthouse, the speed boat and the Whalehead building were immaculate - no chipping paint or rotting wood. Additionally, the restrooms were spacious and really quite clean. They still have the bumper cars and the vending machines. They also serve ice cream but, unfortunately, there is no place to sit. That's really my one minor complaint. We were hoping to have a treat and sit to add up our scores, but there are no tables, chairs... not even a bench. However, the attraction is close to some of the other shopping areas which makes it really convenient if you're staying in Corolla. The prices are now at $10 for 18 holes (adult.) We enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back again! read more

Very pleased. Bumper cars are a good twist on an old theme for children and teens. The course has a couple of questionable construction flaws but once you get over yourself it's enjoyable. :) Was there midday on a Sunday and the new-to-me sewage plant just south of it made for some severely unpleasant odors. So our experience here sucked for a number of reasons. Not least of which is that there systems weren't working so we ended up waiting for 20 minutes to pay and then had to pay cash as they gave up on their credit card machine. The place has three 9 hole courses which are all moderately interesting and a bumper car building. The bumper cars are for kids 5 years and older and are $5 extra per ride What I couldn't get over was the prices. $10 an adult for 18 holes and $8 a kid. Thank goodness we had one under two, otherwise it would have been $36 for 45 mins of entertainment. There's nothing wrong with the place, it just needs to be $6 an adult and $4 a kid in order for me to want to come back. There are better (more interesting and larger) places for mini-golf 25 minutes south in Kitty Hawk and surrounds. More options for kids down that way too. read more

I've tired a lot of mini golf places before and this place is the best. The holes are exciting and well kept. It's a very clean course and you can choose from three of the nine hole courses. Which is really nice if you play at a normal speed and don't have kids to slow play down. Ten dollars for adults which isn't bad. read more

New course with 27 holes. Very clean with a number of holes with blue water. Water holes all are accompanied with nets to fish balls out of water. Great tunes with an adequate sound system.
