Worst conditioned golf course I've ever played in 40 years! Crab grass fairways, horribly slow greens. Overpriced.

Extraordinarily unprofessional staff, high prices, and overall horrendous food. Do not recommend to any human beings.

Great course. Wind changes everything. Pleasant staff. Pace of play slow. The rangers are nice, too nice. Keep them moving!

We played four courses on our recent trip to the OBX and this course was by far the best.

Lesson learned. The covered/recessed balcony provided privacy from next-door neighbors and provided beautiful views of the sunrise/beach. Staff friendly and accommodating, breakfast offerings included egg items (scrambled, omelettes), meat (bacon chicken sausage/links), seasoned potatoes, cereal, breads,pastries/scones, Belgian waffle station (churro flavor was different), oatmeal, and coffee/tea/hot cocoa/juice, and fresh fruit. Coffee/tea/cocoa and citrus water station near entrance/front desk stocked 24/7. Beach is great for shelling/walking. I found the location to be conveniently located for shopping, food, Historic Corolla Village, Currituck Lighthouse, Currituck Beach Maritime Forest Trail Lookout (wheel chair accessible boardwalk to lookout; hiking trail through forest off boardwalk), and 4x4 beach access. If you're expecting to see wild Spanish mustangs, chances are slim and I recommend investing in a horse tour on 4x4 beach. Well worth the money (tours may be closed for season, so dbl check hours/offerings). If you're into sightseeing, you are ~ 1 hour drive to Bodie Lighthouse, Coquina Beach, and Pea Island. Hatteras is further south ~ 2 hours. I love visiting in the off seasons n and was surprised the number of businesses and restaurants still open during Thanksgiving holiday.

We came down in the middle of April so it was off-season and we had an early dinner reservation at 5:45 so there was barely anybody in there. (which I would say is the perfect time arrive because by the time we left, it was pretty packed.) The greeter and the servers were super friendly and attentive. They really take the time and talk to their guests. We ordered drinks and then the appetizers of the warm crab dip and the truffle fries which came out like within five minutes and they were both absolutely amazing. We've devoured them. I wasn't super hungry after that so I got the shrimp Caesar salad The salad was fresh and the shrimp was good (the tails were removed. Thank God cause some places don't do that) my husband got the fish special which was the tuna which he said was amazing. We then got dessert, I got the chocolate torte, and my husband got the apple puff pastry tart. They added a candle on my dish because it was my birthday. That was a nice touch. We weren't super impressed with the desserts, but everything else was amazing. We would definitely come back and sitting by the windows to overlook the water was a plus!

This place is dog friendly as the water bowl was provided for my canine buddy. Parking lot is small, so going there on a weekday is better.

I have done hundreds of reviews and given very very, very very few one star reviews. You basically have to work really hard to get one star for me. Mission accomplished. Also, my steak which was requested, medium came well done I will say our waiter was a nice guy. To add insult to injury, I think they put everyone with small kids together with us and we had small kids running around our table like we were at the playground. High-pitched screaming, and nobody did anything. My suggestion would be to turn the place into our nursery and don't serve food

I stayed at The Chesapeake with my work and their friends for a week getaway…read more This house is on the 4x4 beach and requires you to deflate your tires on a 4x4 vehicle (tons of fun)! Up one arrival, you notice the jaw dropping size of this rental/wedding venue! When you enter the house, you are quickly amazed by the giant double sided bar with a shuffleboard, fooseball table, and an electronic darts game. On one side of the room, there is a bathroom with three sinks and three individual stalls. Next to that, there is a makeshift gym (bring your own equipment). On the other side of the bar, there is an aquarium that looks into the theater with wall to wall surround sound. This floor connects you to the back patio/pool area. On the second floor, there is a chef's kitchen, a smaller kitchen, ginormous dining area, two patios, and a sitting room with a fire place. The third floor is the private honeymoon suite with a patio. This house has two wings with a first and second floor. All floors have a washer and dryer (4 washers and 4 dryers in the house total). There are 24 bedrooms in all and each bedroom had a full size bath, king sized bed, and a private patio overlooking the pool. Each wing has a bunk bed room sleeping 6 in each room. The back patio has two bars, two grills, two hot tubs, PLENTY of seating and lounge chairs, a ping pong table, a gated pool (about 5ft deep), and a large shaded area to host a wedding. This house is MASSIVE and apparently popular in the Outer Banks. Many of the 4x4 tours were stopping to talk about this house. This house is just a small walk away from the beach. This house includes almost everything you need. It has clean linens, towels, pillows, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. It also has a full sized kitchen with 3 coffee makers, 4 dishwashers, tons of plates and silverware, pots/pans...it's fully stocked. All you need is food, body wash, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, and maybe extra toilet paper as there is only one roll per room (though I did give everyone the idea to take some from the rooms that weren't being used). But that's not all! Don't no need to bring ice because there are a whopping 4 ice makers in the house as well as three refrigerators and two freezers. I can go on and on about how amazing this house is but I'll let the photos do the talking. And yes, there are wild horses in the beach!! It's a wonderful house if you can afford the whopping $29k for the week. Luckily, I was here for work and got to enjoy the beauty without spending a penny.

I got paired up with Marty and George. Two guys about my age who were visiting from Upstate New York. They were joined by their two sons and a daughter-in-law. We teed off at 7:30a with an overcast sky and temps in the low 70's just perfect golf weather if you ask me. There was no one behind us and no one in front so we were right on stride with similar games. I like the 5 different tee box options. The tee boxes are wide, grassy, well maintained and well marked. The fairways were wide with not a lot of trouble if you did happen to go wide. Even the 'out of bounds' was friendly. There is a fair amount of water but it does not really come into play except on four holes. Hole #7, at 143 yards over water will remind you of #17 at Sawgrass and the Island green. Hole #9, is a 450 yard par 5 & the Signature Hole. This offers the 'risk reward' option where you have a decision to drive it about 250 yards to a land bridge. You will then have about 150 to 200 yards over the water to the green. If you are fortunate, the pin will be in the front. If not you will find it's a very big green with lots of elevation changes. The staff is great and very friendly and welcoming. The green fee might be a bit on the high side but it's worth it for a great OBX golf experience.
