My mom and I were surprised that we would be able to hit up a winery on this vacation. We didn't expect one in North Carolina. We always seem to find one winery or distillery to stop at when we go somewhere. We stopped here and had a tasting. The tastings are free when you purchase a bottle of wine. Because of COVID, we were given a tasting tray with little cups filled with the wine. We sat on a couch in the main room. The gift shop has a lot of cool items. I purchased a couple bottles of wine. It was a nice place to stop.

Cute vineyard with free wine tastings at the moment. We were visiting from out of town during a hurricane. The staff was friendly and the place was quaint. If ever back in OBX, I would check it out again.

We did the Vineyard Voyage for $79/person. Upon arriving at the dock in Duck, we were greeted by the boat captain. Then, we took a 25 minute boat ride across the Sound to the vineyard and winery. Upon arriving, we then boarded a truck and were driven around the vineyard. We entered through the tank and barrel room. Then, we sat at a table reserved for us to enjoy the wine tasting in the tasting room. We tried about 7 wines, but it took forever. There was a lot of talkie talkie and stories...but I appreciated our hostess's enthusiasm. They have quite the variety of about 17 wines....white, rose, red, sweet...something for everyone. I thought the wines were OK.

I was surprised with staying in VA Beach that there weren't many open field wineries. They all seem to be in a mall. Anyway, we decided to venture towards the OBX on a Thursday from VA beach to Sanctuary. This place not only exceeded my expectations but also expanded my pallet a bit with grapes. The inside is not very big which is my only knock. If you buy a bottle you get a free tasting per person. We happened to visit on a live music Thursday which was awesome. If I can ever find one of these BBQ Sundae in the pics within CT that tastes like that I would be forever grateful. This is from a food truck and the winery doesn't serve it for full disclosure. Looking forward to booking our OBX next vacation in 2022!

Not a fan of sweet wines. The service was horrible and when I asked questions about grape types they very much told me they have 18 varieties of grapes. That is great but what type of grapes. They are not very nice at all. The wine was not great. I guess I am used to Washington and Oregon and of course California wines. Would not return for sure.

Relaxing. Free wine samples but not that packed here now. Tonight they have a music event from 18:00-. You can bring your own dinner. They have tons of wine for sure. Some bands are coming. Well, about wine, most of wines taste not that matured and rich but fresh and graplicious;) A young lady staff is nice.

Very good wine with a pleasant atmosphere. It was quiet when we first arrived, our flights were set up and a very friendly staff assisted us. This place tip toes the line of casual with elegant tendencies. Call first to reserve your spot and you will have someone awaiting your arrival.

Wine was really good. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable of the different grapes and blends that go into there wines. They grow over 9 different varieties of grape on site and offer a free tour on Wed at 1pm and free tastings. Great stop on the way to or from the Outer Banks.

Had a great experience in the off-season with our group of 100 adults, 65 kids. They provided two…read morerooms for us to use. Amenities were great, also the food and space. Accommodating to show us around including the direct access to the beach. Would love to come back again.

I originally reserved a 2 queen suite w/sofa bed and kitchenette, however, my husband "upgraded"…read moreour reservation to ocean view, which was a smaller room w/balcony (w/o kitchenette). Lesson learned. The covered/recessed balcony provided privacy from next-door neighbors and provided beautiful views of the sunrise/beach. Staff friendly and accommodating, breakfast offerings included egg items (scrambled, omelettes), meat (bacon chicken sausage/links), seasoned potatoes, cereal, breads,pastries/scones, Belgian waffle station (churro flavor was different), oatmeal, and coffee/tea/hot cocoa/juice, and fresh fruit. Coffee/tea/cocoa and citrus water station near entrance/front desk stocked 24/7. Beach is great for shelling/walking. I found the location to be conveniently located for shopping, food, Historic Corolla Village, Currituck Lighthouse, Currituck Beach Maritime Forest Trail Lookout (wheel chair accessible boardwalk to lookout; hiking trail through forest off boardwalk), and 4x4 beach access. If you're expecting to see wild Spanish mustangs, chances are slim and I recommend investing in a horse tour on 4x4 beach. Well worth the money (tours may be closed for season, so dbl check hours/offerings). If you're into sightseeing, you are ~ 1 hour drive to Bodie Lighthouse, Coquina Beach, and Pea Island. Hatteras is further south ~ 2 hours. I love visiting in the off seasons n and was surprised the number of businesses and restaurants still open during Thanksgiving holiday.
