    Observation deck for the brewery

We've been planning to visit this brewery since we started planning our trip to the OBX. This place was a little farther from where we are staying than we had hoped (Corolla) but we still had a great time. We were seated quickly especially for a table of 9 and our waitress was amazing. Honestly best waitress we've had this whole trip. She volunteered to take our photo, explained menu items, and was knowledgeable about the beer. I ordered a kolsch which was pretty good. I'm not much of a beer gal but I usually like the Kolsch style. I also tried their homemade root beer which was pretty good. The waitress was kind enough to let me order kind of a build your own sandwich. I'm admittedly picky and find it very nice when people accommodate it because I know it's annoying. Honestly the waitress made this experience for us. Food was good not great, but still really enjoyed our visit. Bonus: they have goats

This was our second visit to this spot and significantly worse experience than the first. The beer was ok, but there was lipstick on the glass and I felt slightly uncomfortable that when I said it out loud the waitress didn't address it. Even though there are many menu items noted to have been featured on Diners, Drive In's, and Dives we opted for a couple different items. We had the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles to start, and we split the Reuben. The fried green tomatoes came with a great roasted red pepper sauce that was pretty good, although in a plastic to go container. The fried pickles were beyond too greasy! The Reuben was pretty good, but needed more sauerkraut. The corned beef was really very good! The sandwich was a little greasier than I like it, but it was ok overall. We did get some andouille (which we also got the first time) and thoroughly enjoy that. If you are desperate for a stop, go there and grab some sausage, but it's not a fantastic tourist attraction like Guy Fieri once knew.

Finally got a chance to go. Walking in it was a bit dark but a very large open area. We were promptly sit and given menus, we ordered the beer sampler and a pretzel, all really good and Candy was our server and she was great. We decided to get the sausage sampler, and were blown away how delicious they were. Out of this world, took some home. If you love sausage you have to go and try it, you'll be sure to bring some home too!!

I just had to go here because as I was driving down the road I saw the goats. It is a big open space that has a rustic industrial vibe. They offer up some interesting beer and meats. They have a little cold case of prepared items and meats so you can go in and purchase to take home some of their specialty items. We all really enjoyed our food and drink here. Worth the stop.

Some really good eats here!! We stopped while enroute to OBX on a Saturday at the start of lunchtime, during the off-season. Got here just after 11AM and within an hour, the place was packed! It's a nice butcher/dining hall style restaurant that is also a brewery. Menu is really nice and prices are really fair! Service was great and very friendly as well as attentive. The items we ordered tasted amazing! They have this HUGE pretzel that comes with the sausage which was served very hot and was fresh, soft and delicious! Their sausages were AWESOME! So was the curried ketchup - YUM! Can't wait to return!

I know why the radish weeps...because it's stuck in this place. Came here in mid-April with a bunch of friends, and maybe the weren't ready for large parties or they were short staffed but it was just a super unpleasant experience. We were there almost two hours just trying to get burgers and beers. Tables that came after us had already eaten and paid before we saw our entrees. It was an excruciating wait because we were all kind of hangry. The beer was okay...I got the flight, but they were out of the two beers I had hoped to try so I had some substitutes. I did like the Black Radish and the Hefeweizen. The food was a mixed bag. Appetizers were okay. We liked the fried pickles and the sweet potato liverwurst. However, we had two orders of fried pickles and got one puny container of the dipping sauce. Not cool. Those of us who had burgers were disappointed. Full disclosure, the waitress said they had to cook them to 170 degrees when we ordered them and we didn't listen, so we were served hockey pucks on a plate. I guess that's a law in North Carolina or something (probably pushed through by lobbyists for the pork industry) but the burger was just very dry and not tasty, although the fried egg on top of mine was good. Fries were of such a low caliber that I didn't finish them. If you know me, you know they have to be pretty bad for me not to finish them. The sausages were of good quality and they were tasty, but nothing that would blow your mind and make a trip here required. The garlic sausage was SUPER garlicky. Don't plan on kissing anyone for a week after eating one! I will say all the servers were nice, but they didn't back one another up. Our waitress was MIA for awhile and another came by to clear plates and my friend asked for a beer and the woman replied "Oh, your waitress should be back sometime soon". Which turned out to be 10 minutes. Okay, if you don't want to increase your tabs, that's cool. Listen, this place seems to try hard so I don't want to bash it, but I would not return nor would I recommend it. This place needs to have a "Bar Rescue" or "Hell's Kitchen" makeover.

This place is a hidden gem! If you live within driving distance of the outer banks this place is well worth the drive. It has nice charm and is a quiet place. The menu is not the biggest but the food is great. The cheeseburgers are awesome and they are served on pretzel buns. The kids had some all beef hot dogs and they were really good as well as my wife's crispy chicken Caesar! Now to the good stuff.... The beer! I had a flight that came with 7 four ounce house beers for $10. 2 of which were seasonal. All of them were great beers. The weizen and ruby radish were my favorites. We purchased 1 liter bottles to go for $6.99 and when the bottles are brought back you get $2 off your next one! You can't beat that! Local craft beer rocks! The service was fast, attentive, and friendly! The food was fresh, hot, and very tasty! The beer was cold and fresh. Local food and local beer is the way to go! So glad we stopped here.... We will definitely be back!

We had a really nice experience today at the Weeping Radish brewery. We came in with a group of 9 around 1PM and they were able to seat us immediately. Our waitress (who's name I didn't catch) was probably one of those nicest and most attentive waitresses I've ever had. This was a very cool location all the way from the farm, to the brewing floor, and into the restaurant. While I wasn't exactly smitten with the beer, everything restaurant related was absolutely top notch. I absolutely loved the fried pickles appetizer, the Bavarian BBQ sandwich, and the onion rings. The others in our group seemed to really enjoy meals ranging from the Southern Belle Chicken sandwich to the Reuben. The menu that we viewed online originally only listed German foods but the one you're given when seated has many more options. I'm really glad we didn't let the online menu scare us off from this great restaurant.

This place is amazing. I am a big fan of the black radish beer especially. The service is always great and worth a drive if you're staying over the bridge in OBX especially since OBX doesn't really have any good eats. Having said that, they offer sausages you can grab and take away to grill/cook at home. The service is great and the place is clean. Highly recommend

    Soft shell crab special

Very interesting space.....Thats the first thing that caught my attention when we walked in. The beer was pretty tasty, the service was pretty good, but the food was the star!! I was lucky enough to get soft shell crabs, the special of the night, fresh from the pier of the waitress. For 12.99, I got 2, along with fries and coleslaw, and they were really good sized. I was really happy with the freshness, but even more so with the value of such a special item! I also go the sausage sampler, thinking the crabs would not be enough, and I was curious.....The kraut that came with the sausage was the best I have ever had! The sausage popped, like good quality sausage does and was very lean. I will definately be back to eat at this place again!!

I loved the original location in Manteo and was not happy when they closed their doors. Much to my delight, the new location in Grandy makes it easy to stop for a beer and a brat on the way to the Outer Banks. You can eat inside or outside on the wide open deck. We arrived around noon and took a table on the deck. Our server, Sally, was at our table taking drink orders within minutes. My wife had the "Yours Truli", a German-inspired wheat beer. I had the seasonal IPA that is brewed with locally raised hops that gives the beer a citrus flavor with some bitterness. Both of us enjoyed our beers, so much so that I bought a 5 liter keg to take to the beach house. So we ordered lunch and watched the dogs regard each other (they're dog friendly!). Among other things, you can choose from a one, three ir 5 sausage platter that comes with sauerkraut and a huge homemade pretzel. You can choose any combination of sausages that you desire - kielbasa, beer brats, andouille - to name a few. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! I love the store where you can buy cheese, sausage, beer and dessert! The staff was Frieda s helpful. This is a must if you're heading to the OBX!

Southern Belle w/ Fried Green Tomatoes

Solid 4 stars, easily. Service was wonderful, menu was pretty interesting, food was good, as was the beer. Took a pit stop here for lunch coming back from OBX and am glad we did. We split the sausage flight, and though nothing was incredible, it was fun to try the different types. I also had the beer flight. This was a great deal with a flight of 7 tasters for $10. Beer was pretty good, with my favorite being the lager. On to the food. They had both German classics, such as schnitzel, and American/southern items. I liked that they offer fresh veggies depending on when they are in season. Ultimately I went with the southern belle sandwich, which had grilled chicken, a fried green tomato and a red pepper aioli on the side. All in all no complaints with the food, very satisfying. Our server was friendly, charming and prompt. A+ for service! Worth a stop OTW to the beach!

If you stop at Weeping Radish, North Carolina's oldest microbrewery, then you are probably on vacation. Don't let this random location near the Outer Banks fool you. It is a brewery worth visiting if you are interested in classic German beers and foods. If the schnitzel doesn't fill the void in your stomach, you might venture outside to see the goats, which might fill the void in your heart. Faces that cute don't normally make an appearance at a brewery, but this is also a farm. It is a unique experience with classic beers. In a world full of non-Reinheitsgebot ingredients and "what's new?" it is nice to experience something traditional and well crafted.
