Zero stars. Horrible food, drinks, but the staff is beyond rude. I would post zero stars if I could

Waiter was an absolute disgrace. 0 smile on his face 0 work ethic and didn't care about us what so ever. This guy was full on rude and told my father to go look at the name of the place after asking what the name was so my mom could come meet us. Then they told me that I needed to go outside to get my own water. One of these waiters who was wearing a black hat and looks almost Mexican is the rudest waiter I've ever had and I wouldn't recommend this place because of this guy specifically! Besides him the waiters were nice and the food wasn't terrible for mountain food. I give a 1 star because that was the worst I've ever been treated while getting a meal. read more

Can't beat the location! We had dinner outside with a great view of Gondola One. Food is 3 stars. Queso was meh. Location is 5.

We ate here this afternoon, and our server Anna (from Croatia?) really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered some tacos and requested no Jalapeños but it still came covered in them. She got us the right tacos within two minutes. We've been having the worst service here in Vail all week long at various other restaurants and it was very refreshing to have a waitress that actually cares. After getting the right food, everything was fantastic. Right off the slopes. 10/10 will return. read more

This time we didn't enjoy our visit at "Los Amigos" I've been a regular customer since I was a teenager as my parents and I have been visiting VR at least once a year since I was 14. "Los amigos" has been our Apres Ski spot almost every time we hit the slopes, is a must stop, but this sunday was a different experience, first thing I see after ordering my appetizer and drink, is what it seems to be the manager (a bald tattooed guy) doing shots in the middle of the restaurant with an older waitress, very unprofessional and tacky, this guy was so hyperactive and acting weird, immediately he began asking every table if they were doing okay or if we needed anything, when he approached us the only thing I detected is this fetid smell of alcohol and dirtiness coming from him, it was very unpleasant and disgusting, I had to hold my breath cause I couldn't stand the smell, the older waitress continued drinking and waiting on tables. The only thing that came to my mind was to finish the appetizer and drink and leave the place, I didn't feel comfortable in that ambiance anymore, it was not the family atmosphere that's always been in one of my favorite places in VR. It's not a common thing that I write a negative review but this is a wake up call cause I used to love and enjoy the place!! read more

Went here for Christmas dinner with my family. There were some good as well as things the restaurant could improve on. First, the ambience was homey and fairly clean. Servers were attentive and could answer our questions properly. We were given chips and salsa, both of which were very good. Salsa had a nice salty and sweet flavor. Me and my brother ordered a virgin Los's passion which tasted very good. Right amount of sweetness and sour. We ordered the Dip trio for starters. Queso was horrible, I really didn't like it. Jalapeno bean dip was good, but wasn't spicy at all despite having pieces of jalapeno in it. Guacamole was okay, it needed some salt and lime. Onto the entrees. I got a lobster and grilled shrimp taco. Both were very good, but found the shrimp one a little underwhelming. It had only some shrimp and some sauce. I wish there was a little more to the taco since one was $8. The lobster one was very good, very crunchy and flavorful. Overall, pretty good and could improve in some areas. read more

I noticed a few reviews about poor service on here at Los Amigos, but I wanted to share what great service we received today. We had lunch there and were seated at a nice spot on the patio. Very quickly a storm blew in, honestly out of no where, and we very quickly needed to move inside, we have two little kids who were suddenly frightened by the wind and rain, but our server and several helpers swooped in and helped us gather the kids, plates, and all our drinks and relocated us inside as quickly as they could. They checked on us several times just to make sure the kids were warm and feeling better, everyone was so helpful and nice. Our food was very good--a mix of different street tacos all around and all were very tasty! We will visit Los Amigos again on our next trip to Vail! read more

This place was ok not the best in town that's for sure. Service was a little on the slow side Food was two steps higher then Taco Bell It took for ever to get refills on our soda. Only reason we went there is because our group really wanted Mexican. read more

Got seated right away. The hostess was an older lady who seemed a bit grouchy. But maybe it was due to people showing up, requesting a table and not having the complete party - so makes sense. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She always made sure we were taken care of. The reason I gave 3 stars is because the food is overpriced (expected in Vail) and the quality is ehhh. I had the lobster tacos and they were good - but I have had better at a lower price. Drinks are a bit outrageous. A house margarita is $20. We also had the guacamole bowl - again, it was just ok. Chimichanga was ok. Can't say anything we had was great. So you are paying for convenience since it's located right outside the gandulas. read more

The food, the service, the drinks! Come once and I bet you will be coming back for more. At least we do! Every time we are in town, we make it a point to visit this friendly place. Location couldn't be better, just at the start of one of the gondola rides up the mountain, and right in front of a very nice small water fountain. Mexican food that is always fresh: try: street burrito (a local fav), carne asada was delicious (and u can pick from like 8 different sauces to go with it). Fajitas are always good too. For appetizers, ask for the queso fundido con carne: tons of veggies in it too. Comes with small tortillas so you can make mini tacos. Unfortunately we haven't really left room for dessert so we can't comment on them but, if they are as good as the rest of the food...mmmm Prices are affordable considering their location. Beware!! Me my wife and her friend walked in around 1230pm for a margarita. There were 2 guys sitting at the bar that were trying to grab the ladies butts. When I confronted the two guys it almost turned into a fight and the bartenders and waitstaff acted like nothing was happening. It seems they let the "locals" sit at the bar and get drunk and harass the real customers. read more

Your typical dive Mexican (in the best way possible). This is an affordable option right in the middle of Vail Village, a rare commodity. Service was superb, Miss KK (a server there) is an absolute doll of a lady. A pitcher of margs and a queso or guac is perfect for aprè-ski. The picture is of my meal the other night. We've eaten at Los Amigos every year for over twenty years. Food and margaritas always satisfying. Nothing fancy. This year we preferred take-out. This was disappointing. They just loaded ENCHILADA ESPECIAL DEL AZUL right into the bottom of a cardboard box. No liner, plate or container. Just plopped right into box. This almost made sense for Quesadillas, but still pretty tacky. I was prepared to add a tip. This is most definitely not customary for take-out in normal circumstances, but these circumstances are not normal. I was startled to see that they added a take-out tip without any mention anywhere. My favorite Mexican spot in vail. Right off the gondola one. Ive been coming here the past 15+ years! I love the warm tortilla chips after skiing and their chicken burrito is a saucey shredded chicken log of protein great for fueling your body. Margaritas are good too. Nachos are epic. read more

Right at the base of the gondola, the bustling Los Amigos hits the spot with their chips and guac. As a California girl, I know a good guacamole when I taste one. For lunch, we then ordered two types of fajitas (chicken and beef) and a shrimp burrito. They were okay, but didn't quite compare to the Mexican food back home. The tortillas and beef quality need improvement. Los Amigos earns points for convenience and a lively atmosphere. It's always packed with skiers straight off of the slopes and provides entertaining people watching. You're going to get your fix of Americanized Mexican food here. read more

The best thing about this place is the view. Los Amigos has some prime real estate at the base of the mountain so that diners can see the skiers and snowboarders flying (or coasting) down the hills. Los Amigos also has some tasty margaritas. I ordered the prima margarita and the ginger margarita. Both were super duper tasty! My friend ordered the cocktail made with grape-flavored vodka and ginger ale, and she said it was a winner. (I love grape vodka and I'm going to try this drink at home!) For my meal, I had a steak burrito - the locals' favorite dish. The burrito was okay, but I'd asked for it without rice and beans and it was served with some weird orange sauce that I didn't like. My friend ordered the lobster tacos, and she really liked them (some friends of ours at another table also ordered the lobster tacos and said they were good.) Stay away from the queso (cheese dip) - it's yellow cheese and tasted powdery. I haven't had yellow queso in so long that I forgot to ask how it was made. (For the record, I prefer white cheese queso.) The free salsa is decent so load up on that instead. I would definitely stop by here again for the margaritas and the downhill viewing. It's also good for a quick, though not very tasty meal. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. read more

We were smart enough to have had made reservations ahead of time so we were lucky to have had an opportunity to eat here. We are a family of vegetarians and were so excited to know that they were willing to make us anything vegetarian. On top of that, I hate mushrooms but they were kind enough to make me my fajitas with just peppers and onions. This is a busy place with a family friendly atmosphere. Our waitress Ms. Oseleanna was AWESOME. We have been disappointed with service at all the other establishments we have been to during this trip but this restaurant has the friendliest and nicest staff. It was nice to see that the staff pitched in with eachother to keep the flow going. Ose was courteous, attentive and helpful. The chips and salsa are a must have. My husband and son got the street tacos and the fajitas were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience tonight. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time if you are visiting during the peak season. read more

I liked the street tacos but they were a little over priced. Also $5 for chips ugh .. All In all though service was not great, waitress was not happy that we were there half hour before closing and she made that clear, even though we were out before closing time. I love love love this place for lunch after a morning of skiing. Try to get a table toward the mountain side so you can watch all the skiers/boarders come down the mountain. We ordered the chips & salsa & guac. The chips a free refill (they're awesome). The guac is really good especially when you dip in both the guac and the salsa. For my entree I ordered chicken nuggets (yes off the kids menu). They're my favorite. They only come with 2 nuggets though so if you're starving order something else. The french fries that come with them are bomb. And if you have space for dessert, you MUST try the Oreo crusted fried ice cream. It's an Oreo lovers dream. The cinnamon sugar cone thing that it comes in is heavenly. read more

Nice Mexican style restaurant. Outdoor patio just below lift #1 with a great view of the mountains. Food was surprisingly very good. There were four of us and four different dishes. All very good. My wife's carnitas were super good. I had the burrito with shredded beef that was very good in flavor. Service was excellent throughout the meal. Refills ere there without asking. Nice. Drinks were well done and not at all weak. Skimpy selection of beers although you only need one that you like. Go again - yes for sure. read more

Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but have never had worse Mexican food at a restaurant before. This place was really, really bad. Tacos in stale shells. Filling (one steak, one chicken) cold and little taste. Bottom of shell soggy (like falling apart soggy), so I assume it was sitting on the counter for too long before brought to me. Half a spoonful of rice, slap of cold (and awful) refried beans. My wife got the mini tacos or something. Said they were horrible. Mango salsa that tasted awful. Chicken with little flavor. Kids' burger was horrible. Like McDonalds quality ground beef. I guess the fries were half decent... that's it. read more
