I did frequent Loop Nails b/c it is across from my building but I won't go back after my last experience unless I am in dire straits... Usually they do a decent (average) job but last Friday was the worst. My friend and I went in around 1pm and my nail lady rushed through the mani. She hurt me with her cuticle trimming and was very harsh. The nails looked good once she was done but chipped 1 day later!!!! UNACCEPTABLE! Also my cuticles were worse a few days later then when I went in. Needless to say I'll spend my $20 for a mani somewhere else, it's not like there aren't any other nail salons in Chicago. read more

Pretty standard Nail salon. Nice that it is in the loop to go during lunch on work days, they are usually pretty ready to handle the lunch rush too! Moderately priced... 16 for a regular manicure, 40 for a gel manicure. I have gotten both and was happy with the results both times. Clean enough facility, not anything like a fancy day spa, but not the same price point either. You can tip on a card too! read more

I had an enjoyable experience here. Needed a last minute mani/pedi before a business trip and searched desperately for a place downtown that actually had appointments open. Usually it's a tough call given my loop location but glad I found these folks. Salon is bright and cheery, and even with the extremely odd comedy show they play on repeat (of gags and pranks in the UK) it actually was a welcomed distraction...I am not a huge fan of having to talk to people while getting any spa services. Technician was however, quite friendly and very nice. Manicure lasted a good week and couple days (did not get the no-chip) and pedi is still going strong from going in about two weeks ago. It's definitely one of those "in-and-out" nail spots so don't expect a full body massage and chocolate strawberries fed to you by trained monkeys. read more

I went here for a pedicure and dip manicure. They seemed to have a little attitude. In less than a week my dip manicure chipped. Never has this happened when I've gotten a dip. My pedicure looks decent but overall they're not worth it. Don't go here. Save your money. read more

This is a legit quickie nail salon. For $15, you can get great value for a manicure here. I have always had a great mani over lunch. It's quick, they have a good selection of colors, do a great job and get you in and out (but don't rush you.) I've both made appts and walked-in, and been please with the services I've recieved here. Recommended! read more

This nail salon is right around the corner from my work, making it very convenient for an after-work pedicure with co-workers. We made appointments, but I don't think they were needed. The staff were ready for anyone who walked through the door. My friend had a pedicure, and I had a spa pedicure. I don't think the spa pedicure is worth the extra money, but it was very enjoyable. We also received manicures. I like that the same staff member does both services for you. You also get a great deal if you do the combo. Again, stick with the regular pedicure for a better deal. The best part about this place? The staff! They were so nice, funny, and quick. It seemed like everyone was having a fun time working. When I chipped a nail at the dryer, they fixed it willingly and quickly. As we left, we promised them that we would return for another pedicure soon. read more

I booked a manicure thru the Whittl app for $20 and was up-sold a spa manicure upon arriving. From the description I thought I'd be getting a longer manicure treatment with a tech who'd be attentive to details. The girl who did my nails rushed thru my cleaning and even thru the cutting of my cuticles. which she damaged severely. She cut too low and multiple times I felt itand jerked back. I wasn't going to write a review until looking at my polish this morning which is already chipping and bubbled on many of my nails. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend, nor will I be back. read more

If all I'd wanted was a polish change, I could have done it myself. For cheaper. And with less discomfort bordering on the painful. And probably done a better job. And it would have taken about the same amount of time. And saved me $38 + tip. Look, I don't go to get my nails done at lunch and expect luxury or pampering. It's supposed to be quick and relatively utilitarian. I get that. But a manicure AND pedicure in under 30 minutes? That's absurd. The lady barely touched my feet at all. And the acetone crap she sprayed my hands did not smell nice. And I'm sorry, but I generally appreciate it if my manicurist at least speaks enough english to understand when I ask her to make my nails a little shorter. I mean, that's relevant to being able to do her job. On the plus side, it was clean. They have a wide variety of colors. Lots of stations. read more

I was totally disappointed in the service I received today. I went and was told it would be a wait for pedi and dip. I said ok and went to restroom. When I cam back the nail tech was doing her nails and asked if I could come back on Monday because she had an appointment and had to go home after that. I wouldn't have been so upset except I had paid $13 for parking that I would not be able to get back. It will take a while for me to return after today read more

This place is hit or miss. Either they do a fair job or they are trying to frenetically ship you in and out like cattle so fast you won't know what hit you. Today my experience was the latter.... And he was in such a rush the he didn't put enough polish on one of my toes, so I asked him to add more and he made a face. WTF? Last time I checked I was a PAYING customer. There was another flubbed toe but I'm too much of a wuss and don't want to be looked as one of THOSE customers that I didn't say anything. That's fine.....it was reflected in his tip. This place isn't my first choice of places to get my nails done; I actually only went today bc I had a gift certificate. I would pretty much only come here if I was in a pinch...but that is all. read more

7/27/2016 Update: Drying stations desperately need to be updated. The fans take forever to dry because of how soft the air is. Still live this place but wish I wasn't forced to stay so long waiting for everything to dry. 6/2016 Always best to make an appointment. Walk ins are of course welcome but you'll always be served first when you do a reservation. They are great about if you come to your reservation early too which is nice. Every time I have come here, the service is fast, efficient and most of all great! They aren't too fast where you think they are just trying to get to the next customer, but respectably fast and do the work diligently. I have come in 3 times now for a gel manicure and each time takes 35 min and the manicures each have last 4+ weeks. Amazing! My new regular spot. They also offer weekly deals on their website! read more

This place is super efficient. They get you in and out and it's only $15 for a regular manicure! I walked in around 4:40 on a Friday and was out the door around 5:10. I didn't have an appointment and didn't have to wait at all. I've only been here once, but would definitely come back since it's close to work. read more

This is a convinient spot in the Loop for a quick manicure. I came in on a Friday afternoon since I had some time to spare. It was semi-busy for 4 pm, but was able to come in and get started quickly. They do have a lot of stations, and from my chat with my lady, she said Thursday and Friday lunch time is the busiest times for them. Color selection is standard - OPI from what I could tell. Basic manicure was $15+ tip so very reasonable for downtown. read more

I think this place rocks!!! I go straight to the owners Coby (or his lovely wife, Stacy when Coby is not there) and he is passionate about his work. Coby is great with the ladies, he remembers everyone's name, favorite colors and he treats us all like family! He is very experienced with multiple products and helps selecting what's best for each client. I was impressed with his willingness to experiment and strong commitment to being at the cutting edge of the latest trends. He intuitively shapes up your nails for the most flattering results... My hands never looked better! But we shall NOT forget about beautiful Cindy! She is Miss Friendliness the Master of Eyebrow Wax. I am ready to cry when I accidentally arrive on her day off... because she does the most precise and accurate job, giving my (otherwise round) eye brows, the Hollywood shape! Go Cindy!!!!! In other words, your nails and face are in great capable hands at the Loop Nail Spa! read more

First time there, my girlfriend and I walked in just because the place was next to our business meeting location. Clean and friendly until they started to speak their language. My girlfriend asked specific shape of nail to a male manicurist. He blasted and walked off middle of session. Very unprofessional. They didn't explain, they spoke with their own language. My gf didn't understand what was going on. Thank God I don't have to go back to the place anymore. Unfriendly and unprofessional place. Never again! Also very rough with cut cuticles. Medium range of gel manicure technique. Nothing to write about it. read more

I really was hoping this place was going to work out for me, and I don't like to post negative things about places but I've been researching nail places for the last week and I'm not really that happy about a manicure that I just got. I felt kind of rushed when I walked in to pick out a color. I wasn't standing there even a minute when the girl that was waiting for me to pick out a color came over and asked what I was looking for. If the area where the polishes were located was lit properly I could have picked out a color on my own without trying to decipher what I was really looking at. So I told the girl something in the pink family, not sheer and not fluorescent, but something a little darker. So she picked raspberry for me, which I figured that out after I walked outside. Sitting at the nail station the first coat looked much hotter than I wanted, but then she quickly brushed on a 2nd coat and what I possibly believe a clear top coat... Then ushered me quickly to the back for my nails to sit under the dryer. Once I got outside I noticed that my nails were also not cut/filed straight, but slightly on an angle and much shorter than I told her to cut them. I had been growing my nails out specifically so that they were a little longer than just the tips of my fingers, and she chopped off all my hard work. I mostly felt not listened to and rushed. I was in and out in less than a HALF hour. I walked here from work, about 4 blocks away, and I was gone from my desk about 40 minutes. I was expecting to be gone a whole hour. If I was going to come back, I would have asked the girl for her name since she didn't offer it to me. She was polite and did make some small talk, but I just felt like a task and not a valued client. I actually had a manicure at Robert Valentino's a few years back which was at this location at the time, by Robert himself, and I have to say that I really preferred his service to what I had today. ****update I got a very nice message from the management at the salon thanking me for my criticism and offering me a free manicure, which I have yet to use, but I decided I would go back and give them another shot since they really seem to care about their business. I went back today (1 week later) to get a polish change. My manicure from last week lasted until Tuesday without any chips, and even this morning there was only slight wear on a couple of my tips, and I really put my hands through hell. The lighting at the salon was much brighter. I was able to to pick a polish immediately, and I love the color! I'm very happy with the service I had today as well. I really liked that the polish I had lasted a long time and it never cracked the whole week, just the slight wear on my tips, I would be happy to come back again, and I might just get another polish change next week. I think I prefer to change the color each week than get the no chip mani because I like to change colors often! read more

I don't do manicures and pedicures. I had won a free mani/pedi, so that's why I was here. Of course, the price for me was a steal! Free stuff is fun. The interior is super cute and really spacious. When I heard the name, I imagined neon signs and a tiny room. There are so many stations, they must pack em in at lunch hour. My manicure and pedicure both looked great. And they give you a beverage, a magazine, and a chair massage. Talkative and friendly are not words I would use to describe the girl who did my nails. Not at all. But whatever, it was a nice experience and my "tips" looked great. Will be back if I"m in the area and can justify spending money on something so frivolous. read more

Oh I loved getting my nails done here. I swear my manicure lasted a good amount of time. My pedicure however lasted even longer. This was definitely the most rewarding thing from my trip to chicago because the pedicure stayed for so long. So whenever I looked down at my toes, it was a nice little reminder of my trip. Not to mention I am very particular about how I liked my nails, shape, length etc. So any place that can put up with my madness is awesome in my book. read more

Just got an email: Dear our royal client. 15% off simply just bring this letter coupon with you. Wrong wrong wrong...but I can hear the person saying this out loud which makes it even more hilarious. I expect a royal throne instead of those message chairs when I go in for a pedi today. read more

Not a very good experience. I needed a simple manicure with buff..what i got - is a lousy 10 min manicure where this girl could not even cut my nails normally. It felt like the girl who was doing my manicure tried to get rid of me and take the next customer. She massaged my hands for like 10 seconds almost without any lotion ... Really are you guys that cheap??? Never again... I do manicure once a month to keep it in a good shape.. But this is not the place for that i guess. They do have a convenient location... Crazy busy over there. But $16 ( $1 service fee when paying with card) for a simple manicure ...No thanks! read more

My work is around the corner, so I pass by this place coming to and from work. I started coming here just out of convenience and the fact that they have over a hundred no-chip colors (literally) and they have a wide selection of regular colors too. I've always left pleased and sometimes my no-chip would last up to 3 1/2 weeks! Then one day I came in about a year ago and I met Vanessa. She's super cute and friendly. When I get the no-chip mani I like to have my nails bake for the full 60 seconds before I switch hands, a lot of nail techs will skimp a little or try to hurry through it, Vanessa was amazing w.o me even having to say anything. Her pedicures are fabulous as well, my feet are left feeling super smooth and soft. Overall the place is clean, the staff is friendly and outgoing, pricing is moderate (but I totally feel I pay for what I get, especially when my no-chip lasts up to 3 1/2 weeks) and I've never left unsatisfied. I've seen some of the other nail techs and they're good too, but hands down Vanessa is and will always be my number one girl :) read more

It deserves minus 5. Rude, humiliating, very very painful. The nail person applied the acrylic to the sides of nail as well, and the nails looked really wide. I told the nail person that it really hurts when he files the acrylic from sides of nail and I can't continue. He said nothing he can do, but keep filing the gel from the sides of nails (really painful). I was called f...ing customer, and that I have a problem. "I am sorry you don't like. This is how we work", the owner stated, turned his head to the right and spat. read more

Loop Nail Spa - No Chip. - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I had a spa pedicure and no chip manicure done by Tony 3 days ago. The entire process was rough and not enjoyable. The spa pedicure consisted of masks applied to my feet and I was out of the chair in under 30 minutes. I wasn't trying to get a hardcore foot or calf massage, but Tony made it a point to make it feel as if he was wiping things on my feet as opposed to any other pedicure I've had where things felt a little bit in the massage range. The no chip consisted of him tugging my hand towards him, flinging it away when a coat was done, and him tapping my hand when it was time to switch, time to tap for more light, or when he wanted me to spread my fingers further apart (which he physically did one time, smudged that first coat, and again flung my hand away when he had reapplied). Didn't like his vibe, flow, or treatment of my hands and feet. I have been to this nail salon a few times before with wildly different results, and do appreciate the number of available spas and manicure stations, but after dealing with Tony (in addition to other past hit or miss experiences) I will not return. The salon has a nice selection of nail colors including every new OPI seasonal release, and the young woman at the front desk is always friendly and efficient. read more

Went in for a fill today and booked an appointment online which was pretty neat. The staff is very friendly and though I didn't need help picking out a color, I saw someone else being helped with it. I was taken care of right away and the service was very fast! Which is great because I was getting the fill over my lunch break and didn't have hours to spend relaxing. No, it wasn't perfect and I had a couple bubbles but they aren't very noticeable. The reasonable price makes up for it as well. The ambiance is nice, they have a nice interior and had wreaths in the windows for the holidays. They had Burlesque playing on the tvs (it's no SATC but still nice!). Overall great experience and I will probably plan to continue to get my fills here! read more

I am what you would call and experienced "shellac, gel, no-chip" recipient. I travel every week for a living and these manicures are a life-saver. I got a coupon in the mail to essential Nail Spa and went in for a no-chip. The girl that did my maniucure was super sweet and was a pleasure, however she really did a lousy job and one of nails peeled after 3 days. I know the owners would say I probably was doing hard work, touched some sort of acid (you shulnd't peel oranges, lemons, limes..) but I didn't. I was on a plane and in meeteings and the nail just peeled right off. The nail tech put the polish on WAY to thick on the nails and it just peeled right off. Beware- no-chips aren't cheap at $35 per pop and it sure makes you mad when it peel 3 days later for no reason. To the owners: You need to give your techs some professional lessons on applying the no-chip. I wouldn't come back and I live in the neighborhood..... read more

I have gone to this nail salon on and off for the last 5 years. It has gone increasingly down hill. I went and got a dip manicure and have gotten many before elsewhere. I will not be going back again. read more

I work really close and I have been coming to Loop Nail Spa when it was formerly Robert Valentinos, so around 7 years. They do good work, but this also depends highly on the nail tech you go to. I have been going for so long that I know mostly all of them and they know me. For the most part they keep their techs, which is nice, but also new one's do come and go. My go to techs are Kim and Cindy. They have been techs there since the previous owner and do very good work. They're professional, personable and good at what they do. Any service I receive whether it's a no-chip or mani/pedi always last. I also have had my nails done by Vanessa and Janet and they're good too. They have also been there for a number of years. I typically know how to gauge the best timing to go, which if it's a Thur or Fri your best bet is to get there either before 11:30am or after 2:00pm to avoid the lunch time rush (It can get pretty crowded). Mon-Wed the wait time is not bad at all. Even still when it's a crowd if you do not have a preferred tech they typically get you serviced within 10 minutes and you're usually out in 30-45 minutes, so the perfect lunch time nail spot. They have a lot of nail techs and stations so that helps. Their color selection of regular nail polish and no chip is HUGE. They're possibly the downtown nail shop that has the largest nail color selection I have seen. They always have the latest Essie and OPI seasonal colors. Their prices are comparable to downtown prices ($16 for mani and $40 for mani/pedi), which is typically slightly more (they also have coupons, like $5 off on their website), but for nails that look good and last, top notch color selections and fast, professional, friendly service it makes it worth it in my eyes. read more

I had a mani/pedi done here today and I had really been looking forward to some pampering. However, I did not find that here. They rushed through both services and my cuticles don't look much different than when I walked in and my manicurist hurt me a few times while he was doing them! The paint was also really gloppy coming out of the jar and thus kind of gloppy going on my nails. The file job he did on my nails is rough and uneven with many nails being shorter on one side than the other. Would not go back. read more

Also, they told me it would take 45 minutes to an hour, but my whole process took about 1.5 hours. I think I will go there again because they did do a great job and service was great. This is a pretty great nail salon for the speed and price of services. I got a spa pedicure earlier this week. The entire process, which was moderately relaxing, took about 40 minutes. I sat under the dryers for another 10 minutes or so and I was on my way. Called earlier in the day and made an appointment at 3:00 on a Thursday, and the place was not very busy -- there were about three other patrons getting various services done. Great color selection from Creative, OPI, and Essie. Polish is available for purchase (hit or miss on some colors but they will sell you the bottle they use to paint your nails if you ask nicely).
