Polish entirely peeled off 2 toes less than a week after my recent pedicure...the night before I was leaving on vacation! The tech had used Essie (their only white polish?!) despite my quality concerns. I returned the following week to request a touch up and was refused since it wasn't a no chip pedicure. My nails started chipping within two days of getting them done. I don't live close to the salon and they would close by the time I could make it to get them fixed. The filing job was terrible, barely cleaned or got the edges and now my nails are peeling and suffering from the rushed job. Definitely not worth the money. Staff was nice but gel should at least make it a week without problems. read more

Great place to go to get your nails did whenever you are in the area. I love that they have several nail techs available to overcome the lunchtime rush. Lots of colors to choose from whether or not you are getting no chip, or just the regular polish. The people are very friendly, I most specially love Rachel who added the extra bling to my nails. She was getting ready to get off her shift but was willing to stay an additional 20 -30 min so that my nails can look super pretty. She even offered to fix them in the event that the swarovski crystals fell off! Great customer service. I did take off 1 star though cuz the guy that did my fill ins cut my cuticle and caused it to bleed a little when he was buffing the nail. He was apologetic so no hard feelings, but that $hit hurt! Lol The price is a little pricey compared to other places not downtown, but thats exactly it. You are downtown so expect to pay downtown prices. But the service and results are worth the price. Make sure to check their website for a coupon during lunch time. read more

I confess I have only been here to have polish taken OFF, not on, but it's close to where I work and very inexpensive ($5, no chip removal). I came in at just after noon and the place was pretty full! I sat down right away, but again, no-chip removals are 5-8 minutes tops. They were efficient and friendly. It's a shame the only pictures I see listed are of ruined nails. I would like to go here for a regular manicure or pedicure, but only when I'm not in a hurry, and it's hard for me to part with Jo Salon, my usual place. The gentlemen who waited on me was great, even gave me a parting gift of cuticle oil and a coupon in a cute holiday bag! read more

I've been here four times now. I won't be going back. I've had one great no-chip, but three very disappointing ones. Waste of money. Update: these photos are from 1.5 weeks later. The nail color was applied so far above my cuticle that it looks like I've had the polish on for 2.5 weeks. It's already lifting and chopping. What was the point of even paying for this? read more

I really wanted to like this place, as I have had terrible luck with most nail salons in Chicago. I went here because it is difficult to find places in the city that do nail extensions. After about 3-4 days, I lost one of the nails by barely bumping it on something while I was cleaning. Within the same week, I lost two more of them. You can see in the photos how new they are based on how far they are grown out. They very clearly just were not put on properly. Then, when I made an appointment after work to go back and get them fixed, I showed up (early) and they told me they had given my spot to four other people and it would be a 45 minute wait. My friends and I all had bad experiences here - we won't be coming back. read more

I had a very good experience here. I got a no chip manicure at another nail salon in the Loop a couple weeks ago, so I needed to get it redone. I decided to go to this place, because it is directly across the street from the office I'm working in this week. Rose worked with me and she did a great job. My nails came out great and I liked the exfoliating massage at the end. The inside of this place wasn't as nice as the other place I visited (the UV dryers were built into the table at the other place and they used new tools on each person) and I really didn't like the yellow lighting, but they did have a TV on the wall, so it was nice to have something to look at. Also, the price for a no chip manicure here ($40) is more expensive than the other place I went to ($35) for the same service in the same area. I think if they lowered the price to $35, I would probably think about coming back more often. But my nails look great, so that is the most important thing. read more

A great place to get the nails down during the lunch time. Fast and decent services. My friend got a 10%coupon for me on Monday and she liked here. I was wondering if I needed an appointment before I went but she said nah. So we were there at 11:45 and got out 12:15 with dried nails. Nice! They have plenty staff during the lunch time so you wont' wait for too long to get the services. And the massage chair was pretty comfy. Everyone was very friendly and very efficient which tells me they know how to deal with lunch hour crowd. My friend did make a comment on no-chip manicure did chip after 3 days. They do have the wifi which is great for waiting for the nail polish getting dry. It is so convenient and reasonable priced. Definitely coming back soon. read more

Pedi was good enough for quick lunch break, but not great. Super sloppy pink and white. So sloppy, that I will now need to go to my guy by the house to fix them, and pay for it... again. Loop Nail Spa - Nicely and quickly done no chip mani - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I was minimally satisfied with my mani-pedi from Loop. The no chip application on my hands was the best part. Done meticulously and I love the colour finish. My attendant didn't speak to me but I saw most of them were chatty and friendly, which is nice on a good-mood day lol. $25 The pedicure I could have passed on. They called it the regular and maybe the real experience is in the spa pedicure, but at $70 a pop, I couldn't be bothered. A good scrub, a quick rub down and a new colour application was fine by me. No lotion was a fail though. $35 I got annoyed halfway- The guy who did my pedicure was rushing me to move to the hand station and as a result, one of my toes got messed up (and corrected) and I later realized my big toe was smeared (but not too noticeably thanks to the dark colour). I RECOMMEND- the no chip aka shellac manicure EXTRA TIP- umm tax fraud much? Teller punched in $25 for my services in the till, yet when I asked for my receipt they gave me a handwritten one for full charges ($60 before tip). Wow. No shame. If I gotta pay my taxes, YOU gotta pay your taxes. read more

This place has decent manicure, and that's what I'm usually here for. I don't have a high requirement for manicures, as long as they get rid of excess skin around the cuticles, and the nail polish stays on for a good 5 days (the normal one, not non-chip), I'm happy. However, I just went there for a pedicure and it's the worst I've had in a LONG time. The girl scrubbed my feet as if she has not had food in 3 days. No dead skin was off, and that's one of my biggest pet peeves. How do you not rub off any dead skin during a pedicure? The other nail place I usually go to on Chicago Ave, the girl always tries soooo hard to rub my feet that afterwards my feet felt like babies. NOT this place. Not acceptable. read more

Wish I could give them less stars. I will NEVER go back to this place. Honestly, the service is awful and they just try to rush you out. The girl who did my nails scoffed at me when I asked for a moment to pick out my nail color and tapped her fingers on the table as I looked through their selection. She did my nails in under 5 minutes and you could tell by the way it looked. The tips of my nails were see through and the bed of my nails were changing colors when I left...yes changing color. My friend went too and they had to redo her nails because of how bad they were. And she was still super unhappy when she left. I can't believe I still tipped her. I've never been so rushed and given such bad service. Anyone who reads this go to tres bien- They are amazing. HORRIBLE!! They call it 'no chip' and 'dip' but actually just do nails and then slather lotion in the end! No manicure services are offered, just buffing/ filing of nails, nail paint and lotion. Loop Nail Spa - Nail polish change for $8.00 - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I popped into to Loop Nail Friday around 2:30 at the advisement of my manager. There was a decent crowd in there, but I was seen by Ann without an appointment. Ann was very neat. She preferred that I didn't engage her in conversation, as her English seemed limited. Nevertheless, she was very polite (until she realized she had an appointment coming in shortly). Ann still did a great job, even though she picked up speed. Other techs in the salon came over to show me polishes that I should consider. They have all of the new trendy colors, and a solid selection of essentials (pinks, reds, neutrals). Unlike most people, my nails did not last 4-5 days. They lasted through the night. After my shower, the chipping began (see photo)! It was such a beautiful color, I wish it could've lasted much longer! Ann was good, but I'd like to see what other techs can do. The front desk leaves a bit to be desired as far as friendliness is concerned. I'll give this place another shot, this time with an appointment. Stay tuned... read more

Loop Nail Spa - Great color! Wish it lasted a little longer. - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I really gave this salon a fair shot but cannot go back! I ran in for an eyebrow wax after work. The girl appeared to be in a hurry which bothered me but didnt deter me. Unfortunately (and mistakes do happen) she got hot wax IN my eye. She panicked (and so did i!), ran and got a manager but tried to immediately wipe the wax off my eyeball....NOT the right way to handle this, in my opinion. She hugged me after and said they would not charge me. I left there very upset and luckily my eyeball was not burned but my lower lash line was! I waited about a month to go back, thinking they would remember me and when i walked in, i was pretty much ignored. I decided to try a pedicure because i was leaving for Florida the next day. The man who did my pedicure took about 20 minutes TOTAL...didnt give me time to soak and scrubbed my left heel to the point that i had a gaping gash in it, 2 days after. I must have had the start of a crack and the scrubbing wore the heel down and the crack occured....SO disappointed in this salon and its a shame that they arent even friendly. Some may overlook the poor quality if they are at least personable but i cant even give them that! Such a shame. read more

The only great thing about this place is the convenience. They are in the loop, so it's easy to stop in after work or at lunch. They are quick, meaning they will give you a manicure in less than 30 minutes. However, besides that, they aren't so great. You can make an appointment, but sometimes you still have to wait when you arrive. Their color selection is somewhat limited, and some of the employees are not very friendly. Since they are so speedy, they don't always do the best job, and you may walk out with smudged nails. Their prices are also a little higher than other nail salons in the area. If you are in a rush and desperate, this place will do. Otherwise, I'd get your nails done elsewhere. read more

Let me first start out by saying that the only color that matters in Chicago business is green except for the companies that are on their way out of business. With that being said, *coughs* yesterday, I walked into Loop Nail Spa and there were about five people standing around ahead of me. All 5 of those people were seated before me, which is fine because they were there first, right? So, I make my way up to the counter and I'm standing there waiting. The man looks at me without saying a word and then walks away. Naturally, I assume okay he's going to be back, right? Who'd think otherwise, because outside of his cold stare I had no experience with the business to think anything else. He proceeds to wipe off his table, put away supplies, walk back to the counter where I'm standing to grab something and back to his work station all without ever acknowledging me. Six women stroll in one by one and he greets each, ask them what they needed and instructs them to pick out their nail polish. I'm still standing there. I'm not invisible, but I feel like it. All six of those women are seated promptly in the available chairs. Multiple people on their staff look at me and make eye contact and no one says a word. I tell you it was twilight zone strange? I kept saying to myself they see me standing here otherwise they wouldn't look at me and turn their head. I'm a nicely dressed professional woman with money in my pocket so what's the issue? What could be the problem considering we hadn't exchanged a single word and I had already seen then greet other customers and treat each of them with the respect they did not have for me. I think I continued standing there because I was hoping that somehow I was wrong. The seventh woman shows up and she is standing right next to me and they immediately greet her and like all of the others ask what services she wants. :) Let me just say it shouldn't have taken me that long to figure out the fact that they were purposely ignoring me, because they did not want to serve me. In 2019, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but there was no valid reason or any previous experience that should have lead them to treat me that way. I have never been in that salon before. We did not exchange any words and there was no issues leading up to this, but ALL of the other patrons that they served before me were White. It leads to me to believe that they decided not to serve me because I am Black. I wish there was some other interaction that could have lead me to believe this, but the amount of time I was standing there, the fact they stood within a foot of me and looked at me while still refusing to serve me leads me to the obvious conclusion. So, you are probably wondering what did I do? After they served the 7th woman without acknowledging me, I turned around and slowly walked out of the door. I went to Presage Nails which is walking distance from their salon and I received excellent service. I will never step foot in the Loop Nail Spa again. Many of my friends have said great things about this place and the services they provide, but the friends who gave it rave reviews were all White. Me personally, I will be taking my green dollars and my brown body elsewhere! Thanks for nothing Loop Nail Spa - YOU are horrible! I live in the neighborhood, but I will never try your establishment again. read more

I wanted to enjoy my experience here since the salon is in my neighborhood. I went in for a pedi and no-chip mani yesterday given the $55 May special that the salon was hosting. The nail tech was very sweet, but accidentally sliced my middle finger with the nail file. The cut is very deep and painful. I tried not making a big deal at the salon because what was done was done and there's nothing she could do to heal it. She did apologize, but that was the extent of the remedy offered by the salon. I'm hoping it heals appropriately and that the tools were properly cleaned given how deep the cut is. I'll spare the yelp photo. I'm very disappointed and won't return. read more

The two stars is for the convenience, friendly service, and though the manicure lasted all but 15 min and didn't include buffing, it's still the best salon in my little area of the loop. I would give 0 stars strictly for sanitary reasons if I was able to do so. I wish I would have realized the following prior to my manicure but unfortunately, I didn't. The techs use pre-used tools that are being sanitized in a cup with blue sanitizing liquid. Ok, fine, this is somewhat standard procedure with fast salons like this one. However, half of the cup (and I'm getting nauseous as I type this) is filled with the skin from previous customers. HALF of the cup is white with dead skin; and this was the case with every tech I looked at! Fine, the blue liquid may sanitize the dead skin but this is absolutely disgusting! As my nails were drying, I watched a woman take the blue glass with tools used during a pedicure and put it on her table to work on another woman's hands. I literally watched the germs go from one woman to the next. Something needs to be done about this, if only to not disgust your customers. Not ok. read more

This is the first and only review I've ever left. I've been coming here consistently for about 6 months and have always had good service. Not too much conversation, but great quality manicures. Today I went in for my usual fill-in, I paid cash and planned to tip in cash because I've always waited to leave my tip until before I leave the salon. So after I paid and KC, JC?? finished my nails, I went and sat under the dryers and he brought my things over for me since I did not get a no-chip (I had to ask him to bring them). When he walked away, he stormed up the stairs and said loud enough for me to hear, "I can't believe people don't tip these days!" I've never experienced a manicurist act SO unprofessional. I was extremely offended and uncomfortable, and it is not a part of my personality to have said something to him. I will not be coming back here even with how close it is to my work. I was in dire need of a polish change the other day but didn't have time after work, so I walked over to Loop Nail Spa on my lunch. They did a great job. I was expecting a hole in the wall judging by the prices listed, $15 for a manicure, and was pleasantly surprised. The salon is pretty big, I doubt they get packed too often as there are plenty of stations. I called to make an appointment, which they gladly accepted, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have to. The nail polish selection was huge. I chose Wicked, because I got a free ticket to see Wicked that same night (yes, I'm that lame). The manicure was quick but not rushed. I liked that they use little fans to dry the polish faster instead of the UV lights (they have been linked to skin cancer). I'm excited to find a place close to my office to get a quick manicure that's also well done and inexpensive. read more

I was in town for work and I decided my hands and feet were in need of pampering. When I sat down, I thought the place seemed a little "tired" so I was a little nervous. At the end of my services, however, I was very impressed. I thought they did one of the best jobs I've had in a while. I opted for the no chip mani and regular pedi. Typically, when I explain I like my nails short and round, they still end up being squared. Well, that is not something I had to worry about here. They did a great job, and I will return for services when in the area. My only regret is that I did not get the name of the lady who did the work, as I know it often comes down to the person doing the nails. If I find out, I will update my review. read more

Yes, 5 stars for the price (it's downtown, people), convenience, timeliness, friendliness and the no-chip service. Been here twice now, 1 with appointment, 1 without; in and out in under an hour. I opt for after lunch rush-hour "traffic" (around 2p) but from what I heard, they are able to pump polished people out of here even in the busiest of times. The prices are about the same as suburban spas, which is amazing considering the location. No-chip manicures are the cheapest in the downtown area and they do a fantastic job...if you haven't had one yet, treat yourself. You'll never go back! read more

But that was the past. Lynn is no longer there and I have since had 2 terrible experiences at Loop Nail Spa. If I make a reservation for 1pm I shouldn't have to wait until 130 for the manicure to begin. I get it, the place is MOBBED during the lunch rush but that is why I call and make a reservation!
