We took my in-laws out to dinner for their 50th wedding anniversary. I was hoping we could catch the sunset, but it was too cloudy that night. We were sat outdoors under an umbrella in case of rain. Our order consisted of calamari, tuna melt with fries, chicken katsu curry, and two smash burgers. Kalani was our server--fantastic service! We asked about dairy in the curry, and Kalani double checked other items for us without us needing to ask. Overall, wonderful atmosphere and great staff; okay food. This is a really nice resort, but parking is an issue if you are not a guest. Each of the Lagoons in Ko 'Olina does have "FREE" parking, but it is limited and there are often long lines to get in. (from early morning to closing around 7) The Ko 'Olina Harbor has pay parking for $17 ($15 plus a $2 fee), and is a scenic 10 minute walk to past the lagoons to Longboards Grill. The parking makes it hard to justify as a place to meet. However, combine with a day at the beach and it's perfect to gather for a cool drink and a snack. We enjoyed the Ahi Poke Nachos, but agreed it was a bit too heavy on the Eel Sauce and Mayonaise. We ate here a few times while we stayed at Marriott Ko'Olina and the staff (Marilou, Melissa, Roxane and Natasha ) are one of the friendliest on the island. They offered to take our picture and shared how grateful they were to have us there. Upon the first return, they knew our orders, which shows great attention to detail. We just have to give a shout out to Geri, our hostess, and Marilou, our server. My husband and I just decided to "play tourist" today and head down to Lagoon 4 for a little bit of R&R. After checking in at the Ko Olina Beach Villas Resort, we were starving and on the hunt for some nearby food without a wait. After calling a few places with 1-2 hour wait times, we called Longboards at the Marriott. It was just a short walk away, and we were told there were no wait times, so we headed over. Unfortunately, once we got there, we found out that there actually was a wait due to our party size and what seemed like a few parties that had just arrived, so we decided to order for takeout instead and sat at the beach for a nice picnic. - Prickly Hard Lemonade - Stiff, fruity, and tangy! Perfectly refreshing for a hot sunny day. - Island Fish Tacos - Much bigger than expected, and with HUGE pieces of tender fish. Ask for tartar sauce to dip! - Kalua Pork Sandwich - Packed to the brim with tender pulled pork and veggies! BBQ sauce could have been spread a little better throughout, but that's an easy fix. Def a messy entree! - Garlic Fries (upgraded the side on the Kalua Pork Sandwich for this) - Cripsy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Def recommend upgrading your side for this! The pork Kahlua nachos need to be stepped up, the nacho sauce and canned salsa are not good. My kids loved the cheeseburgers here too. They do not take reservations and is in the Marriott compound. It is their casual outdoor restaurant with a bar. We were not staying at the resort. My father is in a wheelchair and from the boardwalk we took the ADA ramp that was open. Most people could walk up the stairs. After a 30-minute wait, we saw most people were doing takeout from the bar and getting food quickly. We decided to go that route. The takeout took less than 10 minutes to get two sandwiches and a kid's meal. Prices are what it is in this area of the island. The food was fine but nothing too special. It is a meal and was quick which is a huge challenge in Ko Olina. However, now the gate on the ADA ramp was locked. It is locked to leave and enter. There is no way to open it without a Marriott hotel key. Well, we don't have a key and are stuck. Again, the stairs are open for people to come and go but not the ADA ramp. We leave my dad at the gate and head back to Longboard and ask how we get out. They say you need a key..........girl at the front said she go get a manager. We waited 10 minutes with no manager. My husband went out to the boardwalk and asked a guest if they could help us. Unreal. Of course, now our food is really cold. First and last time I eat at Longboards. read more

The bar stays open according to the posted business hours but they cut off food whenever and for no valid reason. The mango pina coladas reminded us of fresh mango juice we get back in India and it hit the spot. We couldn't even taste the alcohol and it went down like juice. Totally worth it. *First and last time review* Someone else posted right before my post-- they nailed it. The views are absolutely stunning. I think if you're coming here for a smoothie, tropical iced tea or maybe just the coconut shrimp as a snack, it's totally worth it. The actual food is meh.. service is very slow. Took us 10 minutes to get salt and pepper. Didn't end up eating the burger anyway.. I give that 1/5 was truly awful. Tasted like a frozen reheated patty. The pork sandwich was "ok" about a 3/5 edible. Now the coconut shrimp were pretty good. Super crispy, large and flavorful. We give those a 4/5. If you're not staying at the Marriot, do note valet parking is $20 before 4pm. There isn't really anywhere near this place to park. Yikes. Good: Beautiful sunsets and conveniently located (for Ko olina lagoon 3 and 4 if you forgot to pack food for the beach/lagoons). Service is really great here and we really liked our server. Bad: so many to name, unfortunately - flies everywhere nonstop, sun in your eyes, and food is really really bad. Ugh, I feel so bad writing that, but it's true - my 2yo toddler can make better nachos. Everything tasted store bought or worse!!! We couldn't even finish anything because we felt like puking. We literally had to order smoothies to take the bad taste out of our mouths and get out of there asap. I ate at Longboards during my stay at the Marriott Vacation Club in Ko Olina. There is a bigger restaurant, and smaller huts around the pool area. During my afternoon of swimming in the awesome pools there, I needed some food. I ordered my food at one of the huts - the one nearest the pool with a slide. The man who helped me was very friendly and gave great customer service. I ordered the Kuala pork nachos, fries, and onion rings. The onion rings were a little soft, and fries were average. The nachos came out deconstructed - chips, meat and toppings were separate, so you can arrange them yourself and it probably helps it from getting soggy. The nachos were really yummy! Of course it is a little pricey, but that is what you get when you stay at a nice hotel and have convenient poolside food. read more

They have a happy hour from 2:00 - 5:00 pm daily. We tried the AYCE brunch (3.5 stars) because we had a coupon. It included scrabbled eggs, steamed rice, bacon, Portuguese sausage, breakfast, potato wedges, pancakes, miso soup, pastries, and toast. They also offered discounted cocktails during brunch. I tried the Asian Wings (4 stars), Buffalo Wings (3 stars), Nachos (1 star), Garlic Fries (3 stars), and Onion Rings (3 stars). My favorite drink was the Frozen Mai Tai (4 stars), which I preferred over the regular Mai Tai (3 stars) on the rocks. The S.O.S. (3.5 stars) was a sweet punch. I've had better versions of the Lava Flow (3 stars). The Summer Collins (3.5 stars) was a refreshing and not as sweet as the other cocktails. Since we ordered from here several times, the quality of the service varied with 2 star, 3 star, and 4 star experiences. Very over priced at $17 and some cents. I got their gluten free French fries that are baked instead of fried, which cost more for gluten free at $9. Nuts that they cost more for being gluten free when they are saving money on oil. They do offer gluten free buns but I didn't not try a burger.
