    Ribeye
    Joe R.

Roy's was our second restaurant in Hawaii for our honeymoon. We walked across the street from Aulani to the lovely country club/golf course where this restaurant resides. First off I gotta say that more restaurants should do a bowl of seasoned edamame instead of complementary bread. I could not stop eating these, they were addicting. Our waiter was wonderful and the service was great. The food was delicious for the most part save for my wife's ribeye. It was a bit of a miss in my book. It was way over charred, but my wife didn't seem to mind. Our surf and turf cooked sushi rolls were really good. My meal, the bacon jam scallops, was also inventive and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience outside was lovely with a great view of the pristine Ko Olina golf course at Twilight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All and all I would love to come back here should I find myself in Ko Olina again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Made lunch reservations for our anniversary at Roy's Ko Olina and was amazed by the service, view and food presented.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were warmly greeted by the hostess who wished us a happy anniversary and were given the option to sit indoors or outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We chose indoor and were seated promptly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was pretty empty and we got a table by the window where we had a nice view of the golf course.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server Bianca was super nice and gave us recommendations on the menu. We had the Crab Cakes, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Chinatown Chicken Spring Rolls and the Honey Mustard Charred Beef Short Rib. Portion sizes were good and we were thoroughly surprised by how good the Spring Rolls and Beef Short Ribs were. The spring rolls were hot and crispy on the outside, but was a little different because it had a black bean sauce underneath which was a nice surprise. The beef short ribs were so tender and filling when paired with the mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. At the end of our meal we were presented with a complimentary chocolate soufflé which was a surprise. The soufflé had a nice firm exterior with a nice soft soufflé on the inside and molten chocolate. What a perfect way to end the meal. Amazing service and I look forward to coming back again!

Service was great, food... Meh... Not worth the $650 for 4 people. The appetizer Brussel Sprouts were good. Chocolate Souffle was good. The Scallops were good. The cab rib eye was over cooked, we had them take it back. The stuff shrimp was meh. The appetizer Butterfish was good, the appetizer smoked ribs were not fall off the bone & meh.

My family and I came to celebrate my MIL's birthday for Sunday brunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was not busy and lots of space to sit at. We had a nice view of people golfing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The hostess was very nice and sat us quickly. She also showed us where the restroom was. The service was on point. He was very friendly and explained the menu very well. He also recommended us what food were good which we ended up choosing. The food/drink runners were also great! The kids menu was amazing!!! They had a cute appetizer set that came quickly. The food portion was enough for my children and they loved it. It also came with a dessert after. I got the ahi burger which was flavorful. We always get their assorted appetizer (that is enough for 3-4 people) and their brussel sprouts! I can not go to Roy's without ordering their brussel sprouts. The past times I went there, I would order their chocolate molten cake which you would have to put in a order ahead of time and that is really good. I love coming to this location because of service and their menu.

    Prime Rib Sandwich

We came here for my brother's birthday, almost make it a tradition every time we're in the area and it sucks to say that Roy's has fallen off. For lunch I ordered a prime rib sandwich which came out overdone. The bread was soggy and not toasted and the fries I had to switch out because they were regular as opposed to garlic fries. Our server seemed like he didn't want to be there, even though he came off with a nice demeanor it seemed like he was overworked and didn't really give me good vibes. Only saving grace was the matcha creme brûlée which is why I give this location 2/5 instead of 1 star. Which was once a tradition is now more of something we have to move on from. Hopefully Roy's can turn it around in both service and food.

Roy's Ko Olina is one of our go to spots for date night whenever we're visiting family, and it never disappoints. The service is consistently good, and we always love when we're able to sit out on the lanai. The restaurant itself isn't anything over the top visually. It definitely matches the golf clubhouse vibe of the area. That said, the food is always the star here. My partner never strays from the Plantation Paella, and for good reason. It's packed with flavor and incredibly satisfying. I always go for the honey mustard short rib, which is rich, tender, and full of bold, delicious flavor. The drinks are solid as well, whether you're in the mood for a sweetened iced tea or something to take the edge off. We always finish with the macadamia nut tart for dessert. It takes a little time, but it's absolutely worth the wait every single time. Overall, Roy's Ko Olina is a reliable favorite for a relaxed but memorable date night.

Normally, we go just for a meal but this time it was my bday and we were in Oahu...So husband took me to Roy's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside to enjoy the views and get some vitamin D since we are not getting any younger.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a Lent Friday so this was the pace to go for meat free options. Delilah our server was nice and attentive. We had the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail for dessert. I had the butterfish and my husband had the macadamia fish entree with Clase Azul tequila while I had 2 lilikoi mimosas.

My bf made reservations for us to come here to celebrate our anniversary and this instantly became one of my favorite restaurants. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to sit out on the balcony which overlooks the looking golf course.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The night we came, we had someone playing live music by the bar[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the entire staff we've encountered was super friendly and outstanding! They served us seasoned edamame upon us sitting down, which was tasty. We chose to go with the butterfish as our appetizer and it was amazing! I almost wish I ordered it as an entree but kinda glad I didn't as I enjoyed my scallops so much! My bf got the lamb and was really impressed with it. I personally don't care too much for lamb as it often has a gamey taste, but the lamb was seasoned very well and didnt taste gamey at all! They did give us the dessert menu early as the waiter mentioned it takes about 25-30 minutes to make, so we decided to go with the Mac nut tart. The tart was really soft and yummy and it was definitely nice that they gave us a complimentary crème brûlée for our anniversary. My bf and I are definitely going to come back!

Golden hour prix fixe course 3 - Chocolate Soufflé, Raspberry Coulis, Vanilla Ice Cream
    Keala S.

We made a reservation for a Thursday night at 7:30 pm. It wasn't too busy, and we were seated outside. The atmosphere was nice - soft lighting, not noisy, and you could see the golf course a little. We ordered: Golden Hour Prix Fixe - Hands down the best deal on the menu. For about $100, you get a full 3-course meal that's very filling. The hamachi and rib appetizers were rich, and the pickled veggies balanced everything out perfectly. The filet was cooked to order with gorgeous grill marks and paired with flavorful roasted veggies. The real standout was the potato and cauliflower galette--so unique and delicious! Dessert was the chocolate soufflé made to order. It did take about 25 minutes after the entrée, but honestly, the time flew by. Baked Brie en Croute for Two - So good! It comes wrapped in puff pastry with honey, poached apples, and mac nuts for crunch. A generous portion, definitely shareable between 2-4 people. Beni's Philly Roll - Not what you'd traditionally expect, but delicious. The bonito flakes added a fun texture, and the rice had a seasoned, slightly brown color that really stood out. Service was excellent throughout the night. After appetizers, we were given moist towelettes to clean up, our waters were consistently filled, and they even offered tea and coffee with dessert. Food came out perfectly paced. They also thoughtfully packed our leftovers in a to-go box and bag. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, the staff went above and beyond. They surprised us with banana pudding tarts decorated with "Happy Anniversary," which really made the night special. This also ended up being a surprise proposal and the staff were able to film it for us. And we are so grateful! The food was delicious, but the true standout was the service--warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They made our anniversary dinner one to remember.

Roy's is just a short walk from Aulani Disney Resort. It's located next to the Ko Olina Golf course. We celebrated my Birthday and my wife had made a reservation for my whole family. Roy's made it special by assigning us to a private room. Our server, Kerisa, was very nice and sweet. She gave us the house special menu as well as their special drinks. The staff treated us very special and attended to our needs. I ordered the 16-oz Prime Ribeye. It's huge in portions and the meat came in tender and juicy. They made it the way I liked it. My family enjoyed their dinner as well as my grandson's kids' meal. At the end of our dinner, Roy's gave me a birthday treat by handing me a plate of brownies and ice cream. Roy's made this special day with a nice dinner.

What time does aloha hour start?

    3:00-5:00

What is their wine corkage fee?

Appears to be $25 per bottle with a two bottle limit.

Can I wear a plain black t-shirt with nice jeans, black shoes and all black hat?

I'm not sure what the actual policy is for attire but when my family and I went to dinner one of our guests wore a plain gray tshirt with jeans and sneakers so I'm pretty sure you'll be ok.

What time is their happy/aloha hour?

When we went in December, the aloha happy hour was 3:00-5:00 pm. Please contact the restaurant to…

How formal should I dress for dinner time, is a form fitting black dress with heels too much?

I’ve seen super dressy and nice casual every time I go. I love to dress up, don’t get a lot of chances and Roy’s is my excuse. Your outfit sounds lovely-either way you will feel comfortable.

    Do we need reservations?

It would be a good idea, particularly if you want a window table, which I recommend.

    Is there live music?

Yes, there was live music on the outside patio area....great guitarist!

    How casual is casual here?

It's next to a golf club and the inside decor is slightly worn. Men- I would "dress up" with a aloha shirt at the most. Ladies- sundress at the most. Hope this helps

The menu has changed to a more tapa style. We went with our two young children & they were very accommodating. We ordered a bunch of stuff but most notable was the Ensalada Salad, Croquette Cordero, Taco Raisu, Karaage Pollo, and for dessert, the Piña Borracha. We ordered some pork and steak skewers. These were ok, I would skip these next time. A little burnt. My favorite was the Ensalada Salad. The crab was sweet and the salsa opaca was so refreshing with the apple foam. Was told to smash the crisp on top and combine it with everything and that took it to another level! So good that we ordered another one. The price of this was so affordable too! The Croquette Cordero was like a mini curry ball with chimuchirri sauce. A little heavy but if you love curry, this is for you! The Taco Raisu surprised us. The taco meat was so flavorful!! Even though we were stuffed, we kept going back for more. It's like a deconstructed taco & you use the lettuce as a wrap. The Karaage Pollo came with a Cucumber Escabeche. It was so tangy and refreshing, which perfectly cuts through the rich, savory oiliness of the fried chicken. We got the Piña Borracha for dessert and that had a coconut cake, coconut lime mousse, banana lilikoi curd, and pasted pineapple on top. Amazing!! Great way to end the night. Everything was top notch. You can tell they put a lot of effort into each dish. Can't wait to go back!

We ordered the fixed menu for 5-6 people, and let's just say... they weren't kidding. We ate until we couldn't anymore and still left with enough leftovers for another meal. Everything came out hot and one dish after another, so there was never a dull moment. Now for the food... the edamame was a little too shy on seasoning. One of us packed it up for tomorrow's work lunch to give it a second chance. The fried noodles? I'd probably skip those next time. They just didn't stand out compared to everything else on the table. A couple of things to know before you go: there's no A/C, so it can get a little toasty. Our biggest battle of the night wasn't deciding what to eat--it was defending our food from the flies. They do have battery-operated fly fans for the tables, but they were all being used, and we were told a few weren't working. It would be great if they had more available since they definitely help keep the flies away. Overall, great company, good food, excellent service, and free parking? No complaints there! We'd definitely come back with the fly fans of course for back up.

(Im overdue with the review so forgot what pizza it exactly was) but i remember this was good. It was in the happy hour menu is all i can remember. - wings but unsure about the goat cheese dip. I prefer plain ranch - the kids pasta was good. Well, one kiddo loved it while the other didn't. So it depends on preferences on this one. I will say i did taste it and it was meh... - another kiddo got the shoyu noodles and its plain. So if you got a simple palate plain jane child, they will like this one. For drinks, it depends on taste and preferences. I was bummed on this one. Mainly looking fwd to the drinks and it didn't satisfy my tastebuds. It was too twisted, fusion, modified etc. i prefer a mai tai a plain old fashioned mai tai without the fixings. The orange foam was too strong it overwhelmed the dark rum im used to and prefer. So i decided to try the ube rey instead which was much better but still not as much to my liking/preferences. Went back to Aulani a but bummed and decided to get another at Aulani the next day instead and I will say, i liked it better as it followed the more traditional way of making it. So if you prefer traditional ways, this may not be for you and if planning to drink, simply keep with the simplier generic drinks, wine or beer. If you prefer to try different ways and flavors, then you will love this. Service was great and our server was attentive at all times. Thank you. Ambiance was good but outdoor seating may be a bit of a nuance due to flies swarming around you often. The swinging table fan helps but are still annoying plus the tropical heat also didn't help.

Excellent food with super service and a great location just across from the Aulani and Four Seasons…read moreresort areas. We enjoyed the convenient location and tasty food - the crème pies are amazing and it is so clean and comfortable!
