Smoked Chicken, Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs, Pork Adobo

We tried the Da Crawfish and Crabshack's (Kapolei) $9.99 weekday Lunch Specials that they offer from 11 am - 3 pm. Huge disappointment. First, the actual plates aren't close to the portions pictured in prior reviews. We ordered the Smoked Chicken which was more like "Skimpy" Chicken soaked in vinegar. The Pork Adobo was drenched with "sweet/sour sauce" which left a lasting aftertaste in your mouth. The Pork Ribs were actually the closest to previous pictured plates - tasted like "salt and vinegar" instead of "salt and pepper" - still skimpy (little meat covering huge bone inside)! Their "garlic noodles" had so much garlic that I'm sure that Vampires and Draculas will stay away from me for a week. The rice tasted like "day-old refrigerated" rice which was microwaved. I becomes solid if not eaten immediately. So shame. I can't imagine the other selections are any better so I'll just refrain from returning again. I would not eat this food even if you gave it to me for free. I believe you'll get a bigger bang for your buck by using the BOGO coupon at Loco Moco Kapolei located in the same mall.

We popped in for a fast meal. Our time was limited. Service was fast and the staff was very attentive. Great ambiance knowing everyone are here for the same reason ....Seafood. We all took advantage of the lunch special $9.99 bowl. We had the Shrimp plate and the Hamburger Watercress plate. It came in a timely manner. I got to say it was a home run. The food was good and we were in and out fast. I got to come back and try the Crab, lobster, shrimp, and.....

We wanted to take my son out for his birthday He wanted to go kicking Kajun at the mall but instead we took him here somewhere different and he liked it

$10 Salt & Pepper Pork Ribs plate lunch special. Expected this to be better after all the reviews. Was alright.

First time here to try out their popular $10 plate lunch specials. This is not your typical fast food plate lunch spot... waited 30min for our take-out. Unfortunately, rice was undercooked in 3 of our plate lunches today. So disappointing because the main items were decent... but rice makes the plate. Plate also came with noodles mac salad (good) and thin noodles (not sure what this was). This place was busy so I hope your rice issue gets resolved.

Came here before and really enjoyed the seafood, so had to come back! Honestly, this spot is way better than places in town when it comes to portion size and price -- definitely more bang for your buck. Only downside? The service. It's a bit lacking, but I get it -- they're always packed and probably know the crowd will keep coming regardless. Still, for the food alone, I'd absolutely return... maybe do takeout next time to skip the wait. Pupu lobster and poke bowl are my go-to appetizers -- can't skip those. Tried the wings this time too -- not bad! Pretty sure we ordered Combo #3. Our total came out to around $150 plus tip, which isn't bad at all for two people considering how much food we got. Good grinds overall. Worth it.

It was busy and I guess it was worth the wait especially for these lunch specials!!!!

We had never tried this place before but wanted to try the $10 lunch specials after seeing them online. We tried calling in the order but consistently got the busy signal for 20 mins, but it was christmas eve so they might have just been busy. After a while we got ahold of them and placed our order on the phone. When we got there to pick it up, it was kind of confusing where to go. There's no one at the front to greet you so we just wandered around and eventually realized you have to go to the bar to ask for your food. We got the smoked chicken and the salt and pepper pork ribs. The smoked chicken was good and had a slight smoky flavor, but was pretty much a standard bbq chicken. The salt and pepper pork ribs were really good and were super flavorful and crispy with a good amount of meat on the bones. The plates come with rice, mac salad (with spaghetti noodles), and some plain spaghetti noodles that were maybe just tossed in olive oil? We thought that was kind of strange, I think a fried noodle would have been better. The mac salad was pretty good though, it was fun and different with spaghetti noodles rather than macaroni. Overall I think it was a great value for $10 but I don't think we'd come back. Glad we got to try it though!

The service was fast and the noise level was minimal. The food was delicious and the waitress was amazing.

First time here. Service was good and the combo#2 lobster garlic butter was the bomb to me. The flavor was there. The best part to me was the bowl it came in. Not a bag or on the table. So I never get messy just eat right over the bowl. I'll be coming back.

Friendly staff. Good food. Reasonable prices. Need to return to try the rest of the specials. There was a long wait for our order I guess it's because the smoked chicken.

The food is good. Service by Lauren was phenomenal and knew 5 minutes into ordering she was worth 20% of whatever the bill would be! She was fast, polite, kind and professional. It was a Thursday evening so we had a choice of seats but a half hour later it was quite busy. They have plenty of TVs for sports playing on mute simultaneously with music playing. Tabled are plastic with metal chairs and rolled paper to easily clean up after each meal. Your crab shells and waste is easily tossed in the metal bucket. The sauce was too spicy for my wife and her friend that covered the crab so they asked if they could add more to minimize the spice which they fulfilled however it cost me an additional $4.50 for each sauce but the food was so good I tipped on the $9 we thought was for free. Next time we will ask ahead of time the cost for any changes or up-charges before we agree to anything. I love the raw onion with the marinaded steak and poi! It's delicious. The serving size was larger than last week. The bill for the 4 of us with tip was $183 to include 2 whiskeys.

Da Crawfish is not your seafood in the bag restaurant. The food is served nicely plated. Except if you order a combo, then it comes in a bucket. We shared the shrimp platter. 20 shrimp in garlic butter sauce (market price). Displayed nicely on a platter, the butter garlic was nothing special. Also shared the sweet potato fries. It had a light crisp on the outside, and tender inside . Good taste. Two thumbs up. Our server was apologetic for the restaurant opening late. Posted time is 11 am. We got there at 11:30, they opened at a quarter to twelve. The had a staff meeting. Ambiance was open with painted murals throughout. They had a number of TV screens set to different channels. Also, had loud background music from the bar area. Lots of echo due to concrete walls and ceiling. Sweet and smiling server did a excellent job. Enjoy

Food was great! Medium wasn't too spicy so next time I'll up the heat. Great service. Music was a little loud but a very chill atmosphere!

Ask the Community - Da Crawfish and Crabshack

Do they have gluten free options?

    Yes I believe so.

    Is #1still $29.99?

Not anymore, combo 1 is now at $39 + tax.

Do they have private rooms for small events?

    Not at Kapolei restaurant

Do they allow substitutions for their combos? I just wouldn't want to waste the crawfish.

They do for a small fee.

Is this an all you can eat crab place?

No it is not all you can eat, hope this helped

Hi- do you allow guests with service dogs?

Do they take reservations? If so, how many days in advance can I make one?

You can make it on the day of thank you

I know it usually depends on a persons appetite but how much people does the king crab combo feed? Is everything 1/2 pound? The #5 looks really good but looks like you can feed at least 4🧐 thanks for the help I'll definitely be stopping by this…

The #5 combo feeds about 6-10 ppl it’s 1 pound of snow crab 1 pound of king crab 1 pound of lobster a whole Dungeness crab 2 pounds of shrimp 2 pounds of clams 2 pounds of crawfish potatoes sausage and corn

Are the combos meant for one person? I assume the combo #5 is for several.

The combos are for one person. However, there is enough seafood for two people.

I know what market price means. How to know how much before I get there?

The best way is probably to call ahead as market price changes frequently.

My girlfriend and I are planning to go on a trip and go to Kapolei. Is this place near adventure tour spots? Can we easily find it from Coral crater adventure Park? Also which dishes do you recommend? Thanks

Yes, absolutely! It's pretty much in between Wet n Wild water park and Coral Creek, both of which are easy to navigate to. There is also K1 Speedway (indoor go karts), Paintball Hawaii, and iTrampoline not too far away. Hope that helps!

As this place is located near the water, there were thousands (not kidding) of little gnats flying all around us. The bartender remade my drink three times and even after covering it with a napkin, somehow the gnats still got into the drink. We spent most of our time trying to shoo them away from our face. It took them a while (about 15 minutes and many apologies later) to finally close the windows and doors. I am not sure why they did not do this sooner as the staff let us know this was a major issue during the rainy seasons. The service was great, they comped some of our bill after we told them we'd just take the food to go. We had already ordered and did not want to cancel the entire order. Needless to say, we will probably not return as it was not a great experience. They need to do something to keep the bugs away during the rainy/stormy seasons. Giving this place three stars as the food was awesome. Thank goodness there were no bugs in our to-go containers when we got home. The fried rice, pork chops, and fried chicken were amazing. The spicy garlic furikake chicken is crispy, saucy, n' brings the heat. Give a good amount of pieces. The braised shortribs are so juicy, tender, n' flavorful...a must order. To add even more flavor, the chili peppah watah makes everything next level with a slight kick n' tang. The egg Mac salad is a nice balance to the whole meal. The food ordered shows up in plastic containers and every table has a huge bottle of Chili Watah... staff is friendly and quick. In terms of food I went for the Garlic Furikake Chicken with a side of Mac salad. The portions are enormous here, enough to cover a couple meals! Taste was great, especially when you add some of the Watah to it. I ate as much as I could, but probably ate only three quarters of the dish. Later in the evening I was still full, skipping dinner. It's a good spot to go in Kapolei for some Filipino-Hawaiian Grindz!

Long Overdue: My First Time at Azuma's (And Why I'm Already Planning My Return)…read moreOkay, I have to be honest with you all -- I've been sleeping on Azuma's. For months, people have been telling me about their dried aku, and I kept saying "soon, soon." Well, soon finally happened, and I have nobody to blame but myself for waiting this long. Now, before I go any further -- yes, I forgot to take photos. I know. I know. But here's the thing: the moment that dried aku hit the table, all my food blogger instincts went completely out the window. It was just me and that fish, and nothing else mattered. The dried aku was everything the hype promised -- deeply savory, with that concentrated, almost smoky flavor you only get when something is made with real patience and skill. The kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Absolutely ono. No notes. Next time -- and there will be a next time, probably very soon -- I'm going in for the laulau. I have a feeling it's going to be just as worthy of the word-of-mouth buzz. Watch this space. Azuma's -- go. Just go.

To put it into perspective, there was a flash flood warning during a storm this week and I still drove 40 minutes just to pick up takeout from them. That's how worth it this place is to me. The portions here are insanely generous, especially for the price point. You get so much food, and the quality never feels compromised. The fish is consistently fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, which is why I keep coming back year after year. Their service is also incredibly efficient. You can tell this team really knows how to run a tight operation. They stayed open and adapted throughout COVID, and that ability to pivot and keep things running smoothly still shows in how quickly and reliably they handle orders today. If you wanna sit inside, I urge you to come towards open or with the expectation to wait a bit. You sign up on the clipboard outside and wait patiently. The good news is that they turntables extremely quickly. Places like this are rare--great food, great value, and a team that clearly cares about what they're doing. I'll always make the drive for Sushi Bay, and I genuinely hope they stay open forever.

We had to wait 1.5 hours on a Saturday lunch rush! The service is really good and they do try to make sure you're taken care of, I guess people just constantly order and stay forever. The fish quality is good for this type of restaurant. I probably won't return unless I'm in the area and definitely not during weekend lunch rush!
