Just had my mom's surprise bday party here in their upstairs mezzanine area and it was amazing! I booked with Tessa and she was very helpful (and patient because I reply very slow lol). The booking was very straightforward, they don't charge a space rental fee as long as your party spends at least $1000 on food and drinks altogether. It doesn't have to be on one check, as long as it all adds up. We were able to decorate the area a bit for the party. Of course if you plan on partying here be wary of making too much of a mess or damaging things. Kiki then helped me preorder all the food for the party, and she also assisted with the surprise. Ashley was our server for the night and she did amazing! I was bothering her and Kiki and asking them questions all night and they were so nice and patient the entire time. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, it was as if they were family friends :) the speed of service was great too. I know we put the bartenders to WERK but the drinks still came out in such a timely manner. Finally, the food and drinks were BOMB. I've only been here a couple times before this, so I got to try a lot of items i haven't before at the party. Everyone was raving about the food! So many people who haven't been to DB grill before said they found their new spot. And if you like to drink, they have something for everyone. My grandma kept asking for more soju cocktails . The only thing I would warn about is that the AC is poppin upstairs, so bring a jacket. I would give 10 stars if I could. We love the DB grill crew!!! read more

**DB Grill was a mixed experience for a get-together with friends.** The food was actually pretty good overall. We tried the wings and poke nachos, and both were solid. The portions were good, the prices were decent, and it's the type of menu that works well for sharing with a group. Service was okay. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but they were efficient. Parking was good, and the overall vibe was chill, though it did get a bit noisy. The biggest issue was the condition of the restaurant. The place felt pretty run down. The floors were very dirty, the seats were torn and patched with electrical tape, and the windows were so dirty that we actually thought the restaurant had shut down one day when we were walking by. The bathrooms were also pretty gross, even for a casual bar/restaurant. I wanted to like it more because the food itself was good, but the cleanliness and upkeep really took away from the experience. They definitely need to do a better job maintaining the place. I'd probably only return if I heard they had cleaned up and refreshed the entire restaurant. read more

I haven't been here in a while, but all the food is still delicious and the service was good. Our waitress was very sweet. We came around 8pm and it was pretty packed, but we got a high top table and the food ended up coming out fast. We ordered the spicy ahi poke - they serve their poke with sliced onions and it's sprinkled with Hawaiian or alea salt, once we started eating it we couldn't stop. We also tried the pork belly Sisig with a poached egg. This had tons of flavor and we finished it all as well. The kimchee fried rice looked super good so next time we'll come back ready to eat. If you haven't been here I recommend stopping here for happy hour or to grab some late night grindz. You can't go wrong! Went here during happy hour for a girls night to celebrate my aunty's birthday. We got there when it was pretty empty on a Tuesday night but by the time we left, it was packed as a party of 20 came by. The service was good considering the girls were having a busy night. I just wished they gave us the pitcher of water earlier, they gave it to us towards the end when we were nearly done. The food is always a winner here. We all shared the Kampachi Kama, kalbi, kimchee pancake, tofu salad, poke nachos, and lechon. Everything was delicious! I only got a picture of the kampachi kama but that might've been one of my favorites. It was cooked to perfection because it was so moist. I feel like Kama usually comes out dry but I really enjoyed the dish! Although I didn't get it, my friend got the watermelon lemon drop and that sounded so good that I got a non-alcoholic version of it and it was a nice little treat! Out on vacation. Two families with all different tastes and expectations. We wanted to try this place. When we arrived the dinner room looked like a few tables or possibly a party had just left. Service was okay but very inconsistent. We often had to order drinks two at a time because the wait between service was longer than expected. The bigger issue was the gratuity. None of us were informed about it, and it showed up on the receipt. I now see here on Yelp that it says the gratuity is optional, but that was not communicated to us at the restaurant. When I asked the waitress about it, she said, "Oh, it's on the menu." I didn't look at the menu at all and was just snacking on what others at the table ordered, so I never saw that. A simple heads-up would have gone a long way. The amount wasn't the problem -- we were actually planning to tip over $100. Transparency is. If it had been explained upfront instead of appearing on the bill, the tip would have been bigger and we likely would have returned. Unfortunately, that won't be the case now. read more

I have no idea what happened to this place but if I was the manager I would be ashamed to call this restaurant my own. They have not been keeping up with the maintenance here and you can clearly tell. Their ac is broken and it is hot inside, their booths seats are all torn up and some they taped it up with duct tape, walls are all banged up and chunks of paint and drywall or coming off, the restroom door knobs are loose, and if you look at the ceiling oh my god so much dust EVERYWHERE!!! They should be closed down for this! Its been a long time since I've been here and I remember this place used to be nice and the food was good. Came here for lunch this time. Always a hit with the family. We first got turned into DB grill many years ago. It was the go to place for lunch. Everyone loved it so much, we had DB grill cater a huge promotion party. Fast forward almost 5 years later and it's still just as great! Granted, we've only been ONCE "after hours" which was fun and full of sake, food and laughs! More often - we are an early bird dinner crowd. Draft beer options are typical. The Bulgogi tacos are a consistent menu choice. As is the duck fat fried rice. Oh, and cannot forget the crispy Mandoo. I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place before. We don't go here as often as we used to but every time we do it's always a 10/10. The menu is Korean inspired and we always love everything we eat. It's a prefect place to get some food and drinks with friends or even a date night. The service is great and they always play good music which is a plus. We ordered the kalbi, mandoo, korean fried chicken wings and fries. I have no complaints about any of it. Stumbled upon this little spot for dinner one evening and we were very impressed with the food. A fusion, Asian tapas place, this restaurant serves little sharing dishes. Food came out really quickly and service was friendly.  -Kimchi Fries (5/5) - these were mildly spicy which I loved, comes with waffle fries, spicy mayo, and kimchi slices. I loved this!Pork Bao Buns (3/5) - they were just okay for me, I felt like the meat was a little too fatty. The bun was soft and yummy -Sizzling sisig (4/5) - The portion was a little small, but very delicious. Came out on a hot sizzling plate with an egg. We squeezed a lemon on ours and it was delish.  -Poke (5/5) - Tasted really fresh, and a large portion for sharing. -Boom Shrooms (4/) - I surprisingly really liked these! What a fun place to watch sports! We went for happy hour (3pm to 6pm) and got to watch game 1 of the World Series. While cheering, we got to eat some tasty appetizers - fish dip, kampachi kama, lechon, and Korean pancake. All very delicious and perfect for eating while watching. The ambiance is a place where you can relax & talk story talk long stories or just reflect by yourself or even get closer to your loved one. Waitresses are very friendly & hip to today's styles. We tried out DB Grill to celebrate Rani R.'s birthday. Since we got there in time for Happy Hour, we filled our table with some of that menu, plus regular menu fare: Fish Dip, Korean Garlic Fries, Tofu Salad, Duck Fat Fried Rice, Sizzling LA Kalbi. Since there were 2 of us eating, we have leftovers for days, after eating our fill. All of the food was super flavorful and the service was awesome. While DB Grill falls into the sports bar category (think big tv's all over the walls), it's still family friendly and versatile. While we enjoyed our meal, we noticed a 3 or more generation family where the toddler enjoyed the food as much as the adults, older and younger couples, and some kind of "girls" night out celebration, complete with balloons and fanfare. Parking is easy at Kapolei Commons. If there's no parking in the closest lot, surely you'll find some anywhere else in the huge property. The hubby and I decided to do an impromptu lunch date... but couldn't figure out where to go! So we just kept driving and eventually found ourselves all the way out at the end of Kapolei. We'd been to DB Grill once previously for a party, but this would be our first time just the two of us. We weren't super hungry but were looking for something lower carb-ish. When we walked in, I saw a dish on another customer's table that looked good, and found it out was the Beef Bulgogi Bowl. The Beef Bone Soup caught my hubby's eye. And of course, we had to order the fried Calamari. The Beef Bulgogi Bowl was a sweet shoyu marinated beef on rice with bean sprout and watercress banchhan on top. It was a nice size and reasonably priced at $13. The Beef Bone Soup was on the larger size and also quite reasonably priced at $20. Lots of big bone beef shortrib, mushrooms, daikon, ginger snd wonbok in a savory beef broth with a huge scoop of rice in the side. It was big enough to share, so much so that I only ate about half of the Beef Bulgogi Bowl and decided to take the rest home for lunch tomorrow. Calamari is one of my hubby's favorites, so if we see it on the menu, it's pretty much an automatic order. DB's version at $12 was a nice amount, perfectly battered and fried and piping hot when it arrived at our table. It was accompanied by an aioli that gave it a nice lemony caper punch! There was quite a few tables of 3-4 customers but the two ladies working took care of everyone in a quick and efficient manner. Man, all the food we had was delicious and packed with flavor, so grab a beer or a cocktail and enjoy the refreshing experience! My wife and I shared the kimchi fries, the tofu salad, the beef bone soup, and my personal favorite, the Duck Fat Fried Rice! My wife especially loved the kimchi waffle fries; it was everything we expected. Even the salad was special - they had peeled pickled cherry tomatoes on it; I didn't even know that existed. These guys in the kitchen do not play around. The portion sizes for each plate were huge, the ingredients were fresh, and the plate presentation looked fiyah! I even caught myself looking at my neighboring tables' food longer than I should have. The sports bar restaurant had a rustic yet heavy-duty feel to it. My partner and I were spending some time on the west side and stopped by this spot because we were hungry and felt like trying a new place. We got lucky to be seated during happy hour, and it was a pleasant experience! The host and server who helped us were very polite and laid back. We ordered the Korean French Fries which were topped with siracha mayo, furikake, and Parmesan cheese, as well as the poke nachos (Hawaiian style), and 12 pieces of their chicken wings (half KFC and half Garlic Soy). All items were a little salty for my taste but still very tasty, and good portions to share. It wasn't too busy but after about an hour, more parties started to come in. They have a few widescreen tvs set up around the venue and they also had a 2nd floor loft type of area. Overall, it seems like a good place for groups or to host a small party for adults. I'd like to come back when it's more poppin' or if there's music LOL. I'm a local hip hop artist myself so this venue seems like it'd be a fun vibe during the night time.
