DB Grill was awesome. Went family-style so we got to try a bunch of things. The wings and soup were standouts. Great energy all around. Good service. Will come back for happy hour next time.

Went here during happy hour for a girls night to celebrate my aunty's birthday. We got there when it was pretty empty on a Tuesday night but by the time we left, it was packed as a party of 20 came by. The service was good considering the girls were having a busy night. I just wished they gave us the pitcher of water earlier, they gave it to us towards the end when we were nearly done. The food is always a winner here. We all shared the Kampachi Kama, kalbi, kimchee pancake, tofu salad, poke nachos, and lechon. Everything was delicious! I only got a picture of the kampachi kama but that might've been one of my favorites. It was cooked to perfection because it was so moist. I feel like Kama usually comes out dry but I really enjoyed the dish! Although I didn't get it, my friend got the watermelon lemon drop and that sounded so good that I got a non-alcoholic version of it and it was a nice little treat! I definitely recommend this place for the delicious grinds and good drinks.

Great place for... Bridal showers, birthdays, or any special occasion. There's a private room upstairs overlooking the restaurant. It's a great area for hosting your next special occasion. Food: $35 per person Buffet style which included smoked fish dip, crispy mandoo, chicken wings, Kim chee fries, DB fried chicken, kalbi, and fried rice. Everything tasted delicious! Refreshing & Delicious Try the son of a peach "mocktail" mix of peach, lychee and pomegranate juice. $6.50 Drinks were purchased separately-server cashed our party out individually and was very pleasant. Thank you to my friend who hosted our friends bridal shower here. I would never thought to come here for a celebration, and I'm GLAD I did!

I haven't been here in a while, but all the food is still delicious and the service was good. Our waitress was very sweet. We came around 8pm and it was pretty packed, but we got a high top table and the food ended up coming out fast. We ordered the spicy ahi poke - they serve their poke with sliced onions and it's sprinkled with Hawaiian or alea salt, once we started eating it we couldn't stop. We also tried the pork belly Sisig with a poached egg. This had tons of flavor and we finished it all as well. The kimchee fried rice looked super good so next time we'll come back ready to eat. If you haven't been here I recommend stopping here for happy hour or to grab some late night grindz. You can't go wrong! The only thing I really don't care for is it can get pretty cold inside and the restaurant itself is kinda loud. More bar vibe and not the most comfortable.

Been here a few times now and food does not disappoint! Everything I've tried and eaten from here has been hot, fresh, with lots of flavor and really good tastes. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Great place to come with a group of friends/family to enjoy especially during their happy hour. Highly recommend!

Been here a few times and the food always hits. It's a break off of there original bar Cafe Duck Butt. All they did was keep the food and elevate it. Honestly, everything in the menu is delicious. From their duck fat fried rice, to all their bowls. Today I had some time on my lunch break, so went with a somewhat healthy choice. It's a little on the pricey side with certain things, but for sure worth it! Service is great with wonderful waitresses always making sure everything is going good. Their open restaurant really feels big with lots of seating and a great bar. Don't forget to try all their soju options and cocktails!

Food was bomb but service could've been better. They seemed to be severely understaffed and it was pretty packed for a Wednesday evening during their advertised happy hour. Just be advised you'll have to wait so don't come hungry. The food itself was worth the wait which is still why it gets a good rating in my book. The garlic shrimp is a must! Perfectly cooked and flavored.

Located at the Kapolei Commons, DB Grill has been here for awhile now and this is surely our favorite spot. Delicious Asian Fusion and local flavors, drinks, and a mezzanine for large parties ( reservations needed). Relaxing and comfortable dining, great menu choices, and friendly staff. Lots of parking, come and bring in the Ohana (family), they'll definitely enjoy it!

The vibe is really fun, especially for a night out with friends! The service is great! The food was okay but I don't think it was worth the price.

Out on vacation. Two families with all different tastes and expectations. We wanted to try this place. When we arrived the dinner room looked like a few tables or possibly a party had just left. Tables were messy and not bussed. Bar was nicely busy. We waiting outside for about 10 mins. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. Seemed a little short staffed. Our meals came and all I can share was my own food experience. I ordered the duck fat fried rice with an egg on top. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THATS GREAT AND WONDERFUL that dish was FLIPPEN AMAZING! I could have eaten the entire pot. It was comfort in a bowl. SOOOOOO FLAVORFUL. I was so impressed. There were a few missteps but none took away from the food quality, flavor and joy to my belly!

    Julyana T.

Not too impressed with the food taste. It seems to be fairly well liked by the locals though. The tacos are fine but not spectacular. The duck fat friend rice is literally rice fried with duck fat, without any protein. Egg is extra. As for my beef bone soup, the meats are cubed and feels like cooked separately. The broth has flavors but it feels like MSG/seasonings flavors.

This place was okay, we decided to go here last minute. We got the deep fried pork chops. It used to be sooo good. The kimchi fried rice was pretty good. The Kalbi was okay. Kimchi fries was pretty good. The service was great. It's a great place to get a drink and great bar food. The food just doesn't hit like it did before.

I know that DB Grill opened up awhile ago but I finally got a chance to stop in. We got the duck fried rice with egg and sizzling kalbi complete with draft beers. Everything was delicious! Great recommendations from the friendly servers. Generous portions of kalbi and that fried rice was killer! The interior was nice and spacious, they also have outdoor tables available. Solid place to check out in the weatside!

    What's a Banchan?

Banchan are small side dishes that are served along with your meal (like a side of kimchi!).

Aloha! Are there any dine-in options? Mahalo!

Yes. They offer socially distanced dine in. They will ask for your cell # and address to comply with Hawaii contact tracing protocols. Good food! Good service!!

    Is this restaurant dog friendly?

No - don't bring a dog. I think that would be very awkward with how the restaurant is set up

Can you bring your own cake for a birthday party?

Hi Alice, Cakes and cupcakes is fine to bring in.…

Do you have any Mother's Day specials this year (2019)? Do we need to make a reservation for a group of about 25?

Hi Tammi, My name is Steve Yoon. I am the GM here at DB Grill. Thank you for your inquiry about…

How much does it cost to rent the upstairs space for a private party?

Last time I checked (a few months ago) it was $100 to rent for a few hours. I suggest calling them to get the details and see if the day/time you want is available.

Is the $100 lounge reservation, refundable?

Yes it is!!! We either simply subtract from the overall bill or give you the $100 refund.

What time is last call for food?

945pm for all dinners weekdays and weekend; for Pupus, 1045pm on weekdays and 1145pm on weekends. Hope that helps.

Planning to dine during dinner with a party of 12 in your dining area. Can you accommodate?

Hi Lyric, My name is Steven. I am the GM here at DB Grill. I know we can accommodate your party…

How many people does the upstairs hold?

I just had a party up there and the max is 30 people

I'd like to reserve the upstairs space for a party of 12-18--is it ADA accessible for someone with a walker (is there an elevator?)…

Hi Suzanne. Unfortunately, it's not ADA and we do not have an elevator. Apologies. If you still want to reserve please call us to make a booking. Thank you

    Do they offer brown rice?

    I don't think so. Sorry!

    Is there happy hour here?

Hi Valerie. There's no happy hour at DB Grill. We've set the prices lower to basically make it happy hour all day and night!

Majority of the appetizers we got were good. - truffle fries..well...their truffle fries and cant really go wrong - taro dumplings (i forgot if thats what we got but they were good but not blown away either) - corn chowder was good - brisket pesto pizza? (Im overdue with the review so forgot what pizza it exactly was) but i remember this was good. It was in the happy hour menu is all i can remember. - wings but unsure about the goat cheese dip. I prefer plain ranch - the kids pasta was good. Well, one kiddo loved it while the other didn't. So it depends on preferences on this one. I will say i did taste it and it was meh... - another kiddo got the shoyu noodles and its plain. So if you got a simple palate plain jane child, they will like this one. For drinks, it depends on taste and preferences. I was bummed on this one. Mainly looking fwd to the drinks and it didn't satisfy my tastebuds. It was too twisted, fusion, modified etc. i prefer a mai tai a plain old fashioned mai tai without the fixings. The orange foam was too strong it overwhelmed the dark rum im used to and prefer. So i decided to try the ube rey instead which was much better but still not as much to my liking/preferences. Went back to Aulani a but bummed and decided to get another at Aulani the next day instead and I will say, i liked it better as it followed the more traditional way of making it. So if you prefer traditional ways, this may not be for you and if planning to drink, simply keep with the simplier generic drinks, wine or beer. If you prefer to try different ways and flavors, then you will love this. Service was great and our server was attentive at all times. Thank you. Ambiance was good but outdoor seating may be a bit of a nuance due to flies swarming around you often. The swinging table fan helps but are still annoying plus the tropical heat also didn't help.

Outstanding Food, Vibes, and Live Music!…read more Had an amazing dinner experience at Mahi'ai Table last night with two friends! We specifically came out to support our friend who was the musical talent providing the live entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, and the vibe was so good that we stayed all the way until 9:00 PM. Because we arrived during the last 30 minutes of happy hour, we immediately ordered a major spread of pupus from the Pau Hana menu. We shared the lechon style brussel sprouts, hand-cut fries, steamed shrimp & pork won tons, scallion bread, and fish tacos. Every single bite was delicious. I paired the food with a Hana Koa Roof Top Pale Ale from their local drafts list, which was crisp and excellent. After happy hour wrapped up, I moved on to the dinner menu and ordered the Half Pound House Burger and fries for my entree. The burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food and ambiance were absolutely outstanding, and the service was prompt, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. The noise level was perfectly moderate, letting us enjoy both the live music and our own conversation. We had a great time and will absolutely be back!

Underrated local dinner spot…read more The entry to this restaurant is so easy to miss because it's so narrow and it blends in so well with everything. I don't know if they want to keep it hidden, but I guess you could consider it that. We went in on a Saturday night with reservations and I highly recommend it since the place was full when we went in and more people kept wanting to come and eat. Service was great from beginning to end, I especially love that everyone accommodated my stroller and my baby. There were four of us and we each got something different, but to start I highly suggest the steamed shrimp and pork wontons and the lechon style Brussels - I would've double-ordered those for my entree if I could have! For entrees we ordered the garlic noodles, misoyaki butterfish, seared catch-of-the-day, and the burger. They were all amazing, and after we all started letting each other try we started making our own "flights" because everything just hit different spots and flavor profiles. In summary, this is one of those places that doesn't care about aesthetics, the decor is casual, but the food is soooo ono. They focus all their energy on food and service, and that makes a winner winner chicken dinner in my book.

Also, did I really want a Sonic burger? The answer was an easy no. Did a quick search and found this place which I had no idea existed but now I know they exist in an excellent way. People come here to drink, I'm not a drinker but there was plentynof alcoholic beverages on the back wall for your choice that it could be overwhelming. This is a bar with indoor seating and a World Cup game was on. I think there was outdoor seating but it looked like a different restaurant to me. We ordered dirty fries, a sweet tea, the simple smash, village smash, and sweet tea. I have to admit, I'm overly harsh on burgers but from the first bite, this hit right to me. The dirty fries were good also. We washed down that salt with their mildly sweet sweet tea. That's the only miss for me as I like deep sweet tea thanks to some time spent in Mississippi earlier in life.
