Off the Hook is right on the pool side so you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks seated right next to the pool. We stay at Aulani almost every year for our summer vacation and haven't eaten here too often. My son wanted to take us out to dinner so he decided that Off the Hook would be a good choice. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations and it's walk up only. As busy as they were, we were seated almost right away. We were in the direct sun for a little while, but when the sun was setting, it created a beautiful backdrop to our family dinner. Service was excellent and the food was very good too! Pricey? Yes! I ordered the Mickey waffles and the line and staff were all very organized and we were able to receive our food decently quickly despite how long the line was, which was expected. The slow-roasted prime rib in the French dip was a little under-seasoned, but tender, and the au jus and white sauce added a nice balance and extra zip. The bread was also warm and soft. A full bar is also available, offering refreshing cocktails, non-alcoholic specialties, beers, and wine. In the morning, order coffee and other drinks at the bar as well. I enjoyed the Liliko'i Splash and Pineapple Ginger Splash, non-alcoholic mocktails with my lunch. It was cooked and seasoned well and was paired with jalapeño mashed potatoes and green beans that complimented the fish well. I also ordered the keiki (children) spam garlic fried rice with an egg of your choice (I chose over easy). I found the keiki size to be perfect since I planned on snacking all day. I also ordered the Aulani special blended coffee drink and it was delicious. I think this is the only dining near the pool that serves specialty coffees. Service was friendly. Serving a today breakfast and a seated lunch and dinner, it's an easy spot to get in to with a decent menu. Their breakfast fried rice hit the spot. Absolutely delicious and love that it's become a staple breakfast food for us since moving here. For lunch we got the Cobb salad and the French dip. Both were good, but nothing to rave about. The French dip was fattier than I prefer and the au jus was a little lack luster. The salad, while pretty, made a big ol mess trying to stir everything in, and the capers were overpowering. The drinks at the resort really shine. We don't drink alcohol, so good mocktails will keep me coming back. Every one I tried was delicious. Service was on point. He was kind and helpful, and our waters never sat empty. It is outside, so it can be warm, but the views of the water make up for it, and you are under umbrellas. No table service. You order and seat yourself for breakfast. Breakfast closes at 10 and lunch begins at 11, which is when the bar opens and table service begins. Nice, relaxing place to kick back, have a drink and some tasty food. The staff are really, really nice and attentive. You really "need" to try the Maui-Style onion rings. They're fantastic by themselves! No dip or salt needed! The Mai Tai is delicious. The French Dip is really good. Perfect prime rib and Au Jus. I'm not a fan of swiss cheese and it was good. This is a place we ran into, which is next to the Disney resort with in the Ko Olani area in Hawaii. The food is pretty good. I loved my burger, a juicy beef patty, that was cooked just right. Mickey waffles were on my list while staying at Aulani. I did my research and the only spots on property that offered them were Makahiki during the Character Breakfast or Off the Hook. Seeing as my husband tolerates most things Disney but will put his foot down for an overpriced experience he would not appreciate, I opted for the casual dining at Off the Hook. The menu is straightforward. I ordered the Mickey waffles and the one egg meal off of the keiki (kids) menu. The cashier asked if I wanted the kids size of the waffle meal, which I did not think was an option but I asked what the difference was. She let me know the adult portion had 4 waffles and the kids portion had 2 waffles. Since we were planning on hanging out at the resort all day, I did not think I needed the additional carbs and opted for the kids portion, which turned out to be the perfect portion size. I opted for Portuguese sausage as a side for the waffles and bacon for the scrambled egg. The berries and potatoes were already part of the menu meal for the respective dishes. We also had the option of water or milk with the keiki meals so I opted for one of each. Thank you so much for not pushing the adult portion on us! I was going to use my MagicBand+ to charge it to the room but their scanner was down but they were able to scan my Aulani app to charge the room instead. Awesome! As their coffee/espresso machine was down during our stay, they were offering free drip coffee to all of the guests who were dining there. So my husband and I took advantage of complimentary coffee on both mornings while we were there. Win! Not only was their coffee complimentary, they put out flavored syrups, honey, simple syrup, all the alternative milks (oat, almond, & soy), half & half, regular milk, and heavy cream for guests to concoct their own coffee drinks. I opted to make myself an iced caramel honey latte and it was heavenly. We dined on the patio and had a serene view of the cove. My meal was just what I wanted. The sausage was savory and slightly sweet. The waffles were the perfect texture and the fresh berries were great. My husband's meal was what he wanted as well. The potatoes were really good and he liked the crispiness of the bacon. The scrambled egg was just what we expected. Aulani is located on the west coast of Oahu so the weather is warm and the water is calm. It was the best relaxing during our meal and watching the birds flit around before heading down to the pools and beach cove. read more

After we checked in to the hotel, we decided to come in for lunch. We had been here before and the food has normally come out pretty good, but this time was a little different. Two out of four of us ordered the catch of the day entree, and the first time it came out, my plate was completely missing the vegetables, and both of the ahi tuna were way overcooked. After we sent it back we got it remade to have a better cook and my order came with vegetables but was then missing the sauce. A little frustrating but our server was very attentive and made sure to remedy the situation quickly, and was very apologetic about the whole thing. The manager even came out to assure us that it wouldn't happen again and they are working to remedy the situation. We also ordered the salmon and a burger which came out with not issues, and both plates were clean. When my correct order came however, I still found my ahi tuna to be a little lackluster, but the vegetables were cooked and seasoned very well. Food was on the expensive side, but pretty much expected for a beach side Disney dinning experience. Still something to keep in mind, however, if traveling on a budget. In spite of this, the setting is very beautiful, and the staff is very kind and attentive to our needs, even coming back to refill our waters multiple times which was especially appreciated on a hot day. Maybe just a one off as our experience in the past has been very different in a more positive sense, but I will still come back to try some other menu items that looked pretty good. read more

In all the locations here the kids meal comes with a beverage and I have to remind them numerous times to bring one out. Servers were kind just slow.
