Great environment! Perfect sit down and chat restaurant for date night or time out with friends!
It was Saturday evening and felt like going somewhere other than our home kitchen. Decided to find a restaurant on the North Shore to help support them. With all the storms and flooding near by this little tourist town has caused a slow down in business. Found this restaurant on Yelp and made a reservation online. Made the drive over, it's located in one of the areas with different businesses that is walkable. There is parking in lots around them. The place was smaller than we expected, had a relaxed comfortable charm. The weather was comfortable outside so we sat on the covered porch area on interesting heavy well made chairs. Arrived early so the place was relatively quiet Staff were very attentive. Their happy hour runs between 5 and 6, took advantage of the lower rate on two items. Husbands ordered the hamburger which was very juicy and had tasty add ons. It came with garlic fries that were delish. The Tapas we tried were the Spicy garlic shrimp on rice, roasted Brussel sprouts and cauliflower dish. All were delish, be warned the Shrimp dish is very spicy, we ordered a little bread to cut the heat. All in all we enjoyed our dining experience at Maya's.
I enjoyed the happy hour menu. I do love olives so it was a win for me. We never tried the tacos before. I didn't care for these fish tacos. Next time I will try the others besides fish. Always love the staff super friendly.
I came here passing by, "Cholos" and didn't get to spend much time drinking the wine as when I arrived they were closing. Despite the time, we were able to get a seat and get a drink. Felt bad because whoever was working was the only one and she was running back and forth. I'd say if she weren't closing that it's a great place to have a wine and maybe get some quick bites. When we got the check, the book she used to provide the check was entertaining.
Come for happy hour! The small tapas are the perfect size! We split the dinner scallops, tapas paella, and tapas fried chicken. The food comes out pretty fast for the amazing quality that it is. Aiden was an excellent server and the atmosphere is calm & chill- perfect after a hot beach day. Reasonable prices have made this place a new favorite!
Maya's is a nice little local wine & pupu establishment . Their "happy hour" menu is great but the portions are very small, so you need to order a few to share. I have enjoyed everything I've order and the burger is amazing! When seated outside, you're facing a fairly busy parking lot. But it's not a huge bother or distraction. The only downfall lately has been the service. Lack of attentiveness, no water refills, no mention of any desserts, etc.
Decided to get away from the chaos at Waikīkī and drive north to Haleiwa to grab some lunch. We stumbled upon the north shore marketplace and noticed this cute restaurant tucked away in a corner. As soon as we walked over, we were greeted by the hostess/server and were immediately seated. I ordered the coconut lemonade and veggie sandwich(minus the goat cheese) with garlic shoestring fries. My husband ordered the fresh catch of the day sandwich with salad & their house white wine. Everything tasted divine and so fresh! The combination of their overall kindness and great quality food makes this an exceptional place to come to. Next time I'm back in Haleiwa I will definitely come back to support this wonderful little restaurant.
MAKE THE RESERVATION 2-3 days ahead of time! but they can accommodate typically too. the atmosphere is wonderful for a cute date night or dinner with friends. SO GOOD!! Drinks: spanish rose and rum cloak both 5/5! Food: patatas bravas were AMAZIN. the cheesy burrata dish was ok but wouldn't recommend. plate: the lamb pasta dish WHOA totally recommend. delicious!!!!
We decided to give this place a try for lunch. My friend had never been & im visiting so we went for it. We decided to order 2 different things so we could try both. Gyro - good flavor. Not greasy. Nothing to rave about BUT if you order this you won't be upset. I'd have it again. Classic Cheeseburger- great flavor. I really liked the bun. It was really soft and tasty. I think you'd be happy to order this. Fries are garlic fries but not dripping in garlic. It was a nice flavor and I felt like I could talk to people after! Parking - easy it's a big parking lot. Price - medium price. I'm on vacation so I expect to spend a certain amount on food. Service - our server was just lovely. She may have been an owner I didn't ask. But she answered all our questions & check on us enough that we didn't want for anything - but not so much that we felt invaded. I recommend this for a lovely lunch on the deck. 3.5 stars rounded to 4
Had an enjoyable evening out here with good food and good wine. Reservation-making was super easy online early in the week for 7pm on a Friday. They called to confirm that afternoon. We arrived a little early, but the table wasn't quite ready to turn so we browsed the art shop next door while we waited. We were seated and ordered a cocktail. They seem to be short on menus, so we had to share, but that wasn't an issue. We ordered lobster macaroni to start, i picked a couple tapas dishes and my dining partner chose an entree plate. They asked if they could just bring things out as they were ready and we had no problem with that. My Brussels sprouts came out first and they were the star of the evening. A little salty but absolutely delicious. The lobster macaroni had huge chunks of lobster. The night's special paella was available in two sizes. The saffron flavor really came through. I didn't love the clam but the mussel and shrimp were good. They have an interesting wine list with varieties and source regions not seen in many local restaurants. I opted for a Lebanese wine, which I'd never had before. It was a blend of mostly cabernet sauvignon, which is not my favorite, but it nicely stood up to the earthiness of my meal. Dessert was okay - they have two creme brulee options, which I ordinarily go for, but the banana empanadas just called my name. They (and the cheesecake) were good, but nothing I would crave again for next time. Heaps of free parking in the lot. Friendly service. Highly recommended!
Ambiance was cozy & service was excellent but the happy hour doesn't match with their website and their actual happy hour menu doesn't offer to many choices and the serving size is very small & so we ordered off their regular menu and $120 later we were still hungry. Their fall beer was interesting that it tasted like pumpkin pie rim with beer on tap. I am not sure if the 1.5 hr drive was worth it for us but we will definitely try other neighboring restaurants (Cholo's)

We ordered two items from the happy hour menu, the papas "fries" and the roasted cauliflower. We were going to order all the items, but I'm so glad we waited until one of the dishes arrived. I could not hide my shock. The papas "fries" came out and it was the most embarrassing thing I've seen served in a long time. The plate is tiny. Think tea cup plate. It was such a disappointment. I genuinely would be embarrassed to serve that, especially at the ripe price of $10. The cauliflower was really good, but again... I think we got two cauliflower pieces in total. This was also $10 dollars. I really wanted a comparison, so I ordered the papas bravas from the main menu. It was like ordering from a whole different restaurant. For $6 more dollars you get a much larger portion, actual goat cheese, chorizo, and cubed potatoes. The taste difference was also night and day. Happy hour menu feels like they're mad at you for even ordering off of it. I would have rather paid the extra for both of the larger portions than to pay more than half of the price for 1/3 of the food. This makes no sense. Just take the happy hour off. It is a genuine rip off and it gives this place a very bad look. All in all, I came excited and hungry. I left dissatisfied and still hungry.

Tapas, Drinks, and Five Drinks Later Maya's in Haleiwa is a gem. Give me tapas and drinks, and I am a happy camper. We came here to grab a drink and a bite while catching up with a dear friend. One drink turned into three, then five as we gabbed away. Clearly, we were having a good time. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance is super cute and inviting. We got the duck and buns to share, and they were lovely. We were more focused on catching up this visit, so I definitely need to come back and explore more of the menu. Good drinks, good bites, great service, and even better company. Sometimes that's all you need. read more

Recently went for dinner and they still have a great Happy Hour Tues-Sat (5-6p) and delicious food. $30 bottles of wine and other specials. Recommend making reservations on open table if you are having dinner there. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Ample parking and great atmosphere. read more

Showed up during happy hour. Delicious signature cocktail for the day. My husband says he had one of the best hamburgers ever. Fish of the day was delicious. Super friendly, prompt service! Would highly recommend! read more

Cozy cafe vibe found right in the market place. Came on a Thursday after the lunch rush so not overly crowded. Espresso martinis and food came fast. My friend was very happy lobster roll did not have celery lol and my fish tacos were nice and crispy. read more

Such a nice little quaint place for tapas & a beverage, (Wine Mostly)... lol. This cute little joint has both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend making a reservation on the Open Table App. Otherwise, you'll be waiting a pretty minute or wont be able to dine at all. We arrived around 6:30pm without reservations. Luckily they had an open table, But, we had to wait 15 minutes to space out time for our server. I'm glad this place does this. Keeps the integrity of service.. We ordered the Spanish Rose which was their take on the Old Fashioned... Very Yummy! I ordered the Stiegl Radler... Super Refreshing. Only had about less than 3% alcohol content. So, I kicked it up a notch with an IPA Wanderlust. We had the Lamb Empanadas and the Patatas Bravas.. Super Flavorful. The Lamb Empanadas had this sauce that was complimenting the whole dish. The Patatas Bravas Also went really well with my IPA Beer. I'm definitely coming back to try the other Tapas... I was too full to try anything else during this visit... Everything looked so good as the Server was bringing out dishes to other tables. read more

I know....the best kept secrets should remain a secret, but I cannot resist raving about Chef Lamont Brown's creative and delicious brunch menu. Though I've been to Maya's quite a bit for his dinner menu (The Maya's Burger), this is my very first time tasting his onolicious brunch menu. The Avacado Toast & Lobster Benedict are too die for, almost too pretty to eat. The service was great and the ambience was nice and chill. Mahalo Maya's! read more

2nd time around and again enjoyed ourselves. Sat indoors this time and that was nice. Sauted calamari was a little bland but everything else was good. read more
I went with a friend for a birthday lunch, and it was nice! We shared between 2 of us the fried Brussels sprouts, fish tacos, and baked burrata with extra bread. All of the food was flavorful. I hear the Paella is delicious but sadly was not on the lunch menu. We headed back to the restaurant to take it home for dinner later, but unfortunately they do not offer carry out. Nothing special was added for my birthday but it was overall a really nice experience with delicious food, peaceful ambiance and friendly service. Parking is easy in the lot and there is a good coffee shop next door for after dinner. Looking forward to trying next for dinner. read more

I already love the location, I saw an interview with the chef/owner once and he said he's a North Shore transplant and he wanted to give people something to come to after spending a day in the North Shore and not have to go to town or somewhere else and we NEED something like this. It's cozy, casual and still a place you can dress up for too if you wanna make it special. Staff was super kind and attentive and there's just good energy here. What we ordered: grilled octopus: cooked to perfect it's a great full bite, for us it did need some salt we ended up dipping it in the sauce from the patas bravas spicy chicken: very tasty but not spicy at all lol and i believe the puree that comes with the skewers might be the same or close to it as the one that comes with the octopus. cesar in madrid: we added the spanish anchovies which was a great choice. this was delicious no notes would definitely opt for this for any girl dinner special. lobster mac: also very good, chef also does not skimp on the lobster! can leave out the breadcrumb topping i know this is an elevation trend for upscale mac and cheeses i just never thought it needs it but that's just a personal preference. patatas bravas: without the goat cheese we are not a fan of goat cheese at all. these were so so so good and the first to come out of the tapas so it really set the tone for the night, neither my husband nor i could stop going back for more. Overall we both agreed we've found a true hidden gem. We got a table in 10 minutes. I wanna gatekeep this so bad, but I want it to stick around so I will be recommending it to everyone i know. Open Table didn't have anything until 7:15pm but we walked in at 5:30 and snagged some seats at the bar. It's the cutest little spot and I would drive right by without noticing it unless I knew it was there. Parking is easy in the Northshore Marketplace Happy Hour is the best from Tues through Sat, 5pm - 6pm - $7 Bartender's choice cocktail - $7 house red, white or rose wine - $7 Shishito Peppers - came without about 6 peppers, 1 was spicy - $7 Sauteed Calamari - could've been in a larger dish, made it look like a tiny serving. Lots of legs with white wine and lemon butter broth, came in a small dish with two pieces of crostini to dip in the broth And off the regular menu - $18 Baked Burrata - a large dish like Chili's size. The best thing we ordered. We asked for another serving of crostinis. It was so good. - $22 Hamachi Collar - one collar, good but had a little fishiness to it for Hamachi Kama. Liked the little salad it came with. read more
Even after living in Hawaii for as long as I did and always passing by this place, this was my first time dining here. I will say that this place holds a special place in my heart now because my boyfriend, now fiancé, took me here right after he proposed to me on Sunset beach to discuss all the details and planning that went into his proposal. He made the reservations and when we checked in and mentioned the occasion, the staff was so friendly & our host gave us complimentary champagne in celebration of our new engagement! So right off the bat, it was an amazing experience. Our waiter was also incredibly friendly and super helpful when it came to some dish recommendations. Everything we tried here did not disappoint. We started off with the hamachi crudo and the bone marrow. The crudo was light and refreshing and was super addicting. The bone marrow was equally as delicious. And I'm glad that the bread to marrow ratio was perfect because it normally isn't. We then ordered the scallop special and they were HUGE! It honestly tasted like an ocean marshmallow, not rubbery, seared perfectly, and just buttery. The grilled octopus was pretty good too, however I did find that some of it was a bit chewy. Lastly, we tried the potato bravas and it was honestly my favorite dish of the night, with the hamachi crudo coming in second. The potato's with the goat cheese was a perfect combination of flavor and I couldn't stop eating it. Overall, we enjoyed everything and all the food was just absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed that we were seated outside and near the beach at sunset while enjoying this meal. A perfect meal after a perfect proposal to end a perfect day! read more

Absolutely its in haleiwa so dress is casual anyway. Females in sundress or jeans and tank is fine

Yes they allow dogs and even provide water for dogs

Yes gift cards are available and they even offer digital gift cards if you cannot make it in person to buy for someone

I believe so! When we went in October they were taking reservation!
