Decided to do a morning outing to North Shore beach day to watch waves. Stopped at this little locals place for the second time. Love the feel of non touristy location with inside and outside dining. Order at the counter a they provide a number for your table. They have inside and outside dining out back. The outside dining is campy and I like it. Although we were seated inside, at the time we thought it was connected with a different business. We ordered a breakfast burrito for husband and I had the avocado toast and coffee. Really enjoyed my meal, nicely seasoned. The burrito was huge with country fries. This little gem will be on our list when in Haleiwa. read more

We really never come down to Haleiwa, so when we do finding other restaurants to eat is a must. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed Cafe Haleiwa food. I got their tomato Benedict special and just added the egg pouch and avocado. Such a really good combo. I love how the English muffin was really toasted on the bottom it really made it more savoring. I like their homemade fries but some of them weren't cooked all the way so I had to put them On the side. But overall we enjoyed Cafe Haleiwa food and atmosphere. read more

We tried Cafe Haleiwa today since we were in the area, and we had a good experience. Husband and I both ordered the loco moco. They ran out of mac salad, and I was able to sub in avocado instead, which I didn't mind. We both liked the loco moco and thought the gravy was tasted rich and savory. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and outdoor seating might feel more breezy and cool. The parking is located in the back. I think we went at a good time where we were able to find parking, but it doesn't bother us too much if we had to walk. You place your order at the counter, and they bring it to you. Everyone was very nice. The inside has a nostalgic feeling. It felt quaint and cozy. We also didn't want to wait very long for our food. If we're ever in the area again, we would stop by. read more

Hometown Haleiwa feel. So simple and easy going I loved the surfer vibe. Cute little self serve water and pre paid coffee station. The food may come out on paper plates but it is just sooo good. Really cute place. Thankful to my friends for taking me here! I ordered the chicken club sandwich to go and ate it in the car. We did wait in the restaurant and it was really hot lol Super delicious sandwich but a bit hard to eat! The lettuce and tomatoes kept falling out. I think it would be easier to eat in the restaurant, and in addition I would have liked more mayo, mustard and ketchup (condiments) which I could have asked for if I was in the restaurant. Very cute find in Haleiwa Town this morning. My husband and I couldn't decide where to go and randomly picked this cafe in the midst of arriving. Once inside we were greeted by the friendly staff and gazed at their menu for a hot minute ultimately deciding on huevos rancheros. Before ordering we noticed their specials of the day and found Steak Rancheros instead. For them not being an actual Mexican restaurant, their dish was pretty spot on! Better than what I've experienced at these so called taquerias. Even though the sauces they used were probably Herdez Chipotle Salsa Cremosa and Avocado Cilantro, the way it was presented and tasted was delicious. read more

A casual breakfast place in North Shore. When you walk into the place, you order first, then find your own seating inside or outside. There's plenty of seating. We went mid morning on a weekend so it was pretty busy. There were 10 of us and we waited for our food about 30 min. When we ordered they did say it would be about 40-45 min so that was great! They people are very nice and helpful there. The food was worth the wait. Big servings and delicious! We will definitely go back! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Me and my husband came in around 10:45, I didn't get my food until 30-40 minutes later. We waited a little longer and realized my husbands food was missing. I went back up to ask about it and the cashier forgot his food completely so we were only charged for my meal. I politely asked for a refund and the manager was super rude about it and didn't even care to understand the situation. We only got refunded for my meal, when it should have been both meals because of the wait time and the experience. Not to mention the food was mediocre at best and we wasted over an hour and a half sitting in this restaurant. read more

I miss the old Cafe Haleiwa - the clanking of dishes, a packed restaurant, eating on real plates, getting served. Now you walk-in, order food, put a number on your table. Then they bring you food in to go containers with plastic forks. I asked for water - I was told to grab some from a water dispenser pretty far from my table. The cups are also tiny. So I walked back and forth quite a few times during my meal. This might as well be a takeout place. Why do we even still tip the 20%? There is NO service. They just drop off your food, that's it. The only saving grace is the food... which is the same. Everything else is different. There used to even be a full espresso bar. The last two times I've been here they have only had iced coffee or hot coffee. I was raised on the North Shore and have been coming here for years. read more

Stopped by this restaurant on our way to somewhere to start the day and I must admit I wasn't super impressed with the menu. Ordered the Steak and Eggs which comes with NY strip steak, two eggs, and choice of home fries, rice, or beans and toast or tortilla. I thought the options for sides were definitely interesting and settled on the beans and tortilla. There was a lot of potential, but the execution just wasn't that great. It didn't look very appetizing and the taste of the food definitely matched the looks of it. The service was also mediocre, I mean I wasn't expecting too much from this sort of diner-esque spot but I still felt largely unattended to. I also didn't like that I had to basically go to an outhouse to use the restroom...an indoor restroom as one would expect to be attached to the rest of the building or off the main dining room would have been much appreciated. Overall, everything was a little below average, but I still felt that maybe 2.5 stars would be a bit too harsh so, 3 stars it is. read more
