I ordered the Wedge salad and added the salmon. I thought it would come cut up on top but I actually liked that it was a piece on the side, it was seasoned well and actually cooked perfectly! I was so satisfied with my meal. Our server was super nice and very attentive! Loved the vibe of the place, there's indoor and outdoor seating. My mom didn't love her meal but I think Stonfish is definitely a solid lunch option in Haleiwa!
I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The service was great and the ambiance is chill. My friend said his loco moco was bland though. I have the seafood Louie salad. Only thing I'll recommend for the salad is get the dressing on the side. It can be overpowering and I wanted to taste the seafood more. We also shared goat cheese wontons which came with a really yummy mango salsa.
Service- 5 Ambiance- 4 Food- 4 I visited Stonefish Grill yesterday. This restaurant is located in a very busy part of North Shore. This is another location I try to stay away from, but had to try this place! It's located in Haleiwa town near different shops and places to eat so navigating people on foot is the part of the headache of coming here. There were lots of space for parking right next to Stonefish grill when we were there. I was so happy to see they had many healthy choices on their menu. I decided to go with the Caesar's salad and my date chose the Prime Rib poke that was sooo good! What a great combo of protein, veggies and carbs. The Prime Rib Poke consisted of the house roasted prime, flash seared and cubed with sea asparagus, fresh tomatoes , white onions and soy based dressing topped with won-tons. Hey now!
My family went here for dinner after my sister's rehearsal for her wedding. She's actually never been to this restaurant, but I think she was just going off the reviews. I have to say that my review of this place definitely doesn't match what others thought of it. The service was good, they were attentive. But the food wasn't good. I guess since there were so many of us, they had a special menu for us where we had a choice of three entrees. It was either the salmon, lamb, or chicken. And we had a few appetizers like the prime rib poke and the calamari. The appetizers weren't too bad. Our meal came with either a soup or a salad. Since I can't do milk I got the salad. Pretty much everyone else got the chowder. The salad was okay. The chowder was not eaten by most of the people on my table. My daughter said the chowder tasted funny and my dad said the same thing. Next came the entrees. I was really excited for my salmon. It looked good in the pictures with a big piece of salmon over white rice with bok choy. Well it came out but the salmon was really really dry. It was hard to eat because it was so dry tasting. I couldn't eat very much of it. And in the middle of dinner, a small brown roach crawled across the table. From that point, I was done eating. We didn't take home our leftover salmon.
I'm watching how much I eat and I decided to just stick with an appetizer. I ordered the calamari and it was completely scorched, dry and it felt like it's been frozen in a bag for a year. One comes to expect somewhat fresh seafood on an island and we've always had really great experience in this restaurant. So it's a shame that this wasn't freshly sliced and prepared but even frozen ones can be prepared correctly. These definitely tasted like they've been frozen for a long time and they definitely overcooked it whether it was frozen or not. Even after removing the batter, it still tasted awful. We love coming here, but I'm wondering if they've changed chefs. My dessert was amazing. It's pounded Taro with vanilla ice cream and coconut milk. Definitely share it if it's available because it's very sweet. My friend had no complaints about his salad. Service was great.
Went for brunch with my husband today. Had the avocado croast. Only downside it could've been cut open and less lemon basil. Lemon basil was a bit over powered and due to the bread not being cut open it made it seem so dry. Minor fixes. Love the staff, super friendly. Breakfast days at stonefish are my favorite. Good food and get to listen to Jinna perform. She's one of my Ohana's favorites as she reminds of Amy winehouse. We will miss these places when we move to the mainland. Sunday mornings for breakfast is perfect as it's not too busy as everyone is out surfing.
The food, atmosphere, and waiter are all top notch. The restroom however... When you go, ask for "Lance" to be your server. He is absolutely amazing and very attentive to food allergy challenges.if you have food allergies this is absolutely the place to eat. Everything is custom cooked.

In February we came here and had prime rib for the first time and it was delicious and cooked so well. We decided it was our new place for prime rib. It was tasty and the price was reasonable. I was craving steak so we decided to head to Stonefish for dinner yesterday. We've eaten here since February but hadn't had the prime rib since. We arrived and it was a tad early for dinner so the place wasn't crowded. We sat outside which was nice because the weather was great. Lance was our server and he told us the specials but we told him we were there for the prime rib. He told us the minimum temperature yesterday was Medium. We prefer medium rare, and thats what we had in February, but we thought Medium would be fine so we ordered it. My boyfriend joked that someone must have left it in the oven too long which is why Medium was the only option. We also ordered onion rings and while they were good, they were overdone. It took 15-20 minutes to get our meal so not a long wait. The meat definitely didn't look appealing but we dug in. I really tried to like it and even told my boyfriend it wasn't bad but the more I ate it the more I disliked it. It was more done than medium and I'm not used to prime rib being put on the grill before serving. It really was a stark contrast between the one we had in February and the one we had yesterday. We even discussed if we even wanted to try it again in the future since it was so bad this time. Just not sure if it was an off night or if we just got lucky in February. Since all our food was overdone maybe it was a fluke. We'll likely try another location in Haleiwa that offers prime rib. On a positive note the weather was great and Lance was a really good server.
Lovely outdoor seating. On main road but intimate and cozy. A live music guitar/singer came out and was just right. I had the prime rib which was wonderful. Very large - enough for 2. Well cooked and the veggies were great as well. I had some raspberry vodka drink which I would love to have again and again. Very refreshing and perfect. Nice service.
My husband and I were looking to support a local business post Kona low flooding and wanted more of a sit down experience for lunch. This spot had a great vibe, excellent service, and good food. I had a crab cake salad, which was good--nice sized crab cakes, but a little too cakey if you know what I mean; I like mine mostly with crab and not too much filler. My lilikoi kamikaze drink was amazing though! My husband had the katsu-style fish sandwich and fried, which he enjoyed--the fries were yummy too. My daughter had the seafood chowder which was tasty, but I think could have used something to brighten it. All in all it was a great lunch spot!
The food here is enough to satisfy you! The portions are pretty large. The Miso Salmon was pretty good, but basic. Nothing crazy, i would probably try another dish when i'm back. The Seafood Chowder was pretty good! The service was amazing! Everyone was so sweet and attentive! Please make sure to tip them well :) The place was very beautiful. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating! such a beautiful place.
Stonefish is located in the Haleiwa Town Center, so there's lots of free parking in the lot behind. I came here for brunch on a Friday, and there was no wait to be seated. We were given the option of sitting inside or outside. I loved the wood furniture and plants that were used throughout the restaurant. For three of us, we shared the prime rib moco and malasada pancakes. The malasada pancakes are like no other, and it's a must try at this restaurant. It has the perfect malasada texture without feeling super heavy. The prime rib loco moco was a generous portion and paired well with the sweet malasada pancakes. Service here was friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend Stonefish if you're looking for a good breakfast spot with something for everyone. read more

We give it a 2 star coz of the venue; nice place with very beachy ambiance being in North Shore. The staff are friendly and hospitable but not very attentive. We're seated at the corner and forgotten. Now, the food-DISAPPOINTING! We thought it would be authentic fish since the name stands for it! We ordered Chicken and Fish sandwiches. The plating was nice and looks appetizing but the chicken were chicken tenders or chicken stick and the fish was those ready made breaded fish from Costco (at least it looked like it). What made the good taste good was the sauce. So, I recommend if you're really hungry and you don't mind eating microwave dinner and the family needs to unload and relax coz the place is vibing and has a long bar for adults. I'm just disappointed with the food. read more

After 9 days on the island, all I wanted was to sit inside, in the A/C, to eat. I'd love this place if only for that. However, the food was absolutely fantastic, too. I had the Reuben, which came with a salad. The meat was thick-cut and the sandwich was delightful. My daughter went with a salad without any protein added and enjoyed it. My wife does not now remember what hers was called, but was seafood on lettuce. Another excellent choice. Service was great. They were attentive, but scrambling. Short delay when it was time for the check, but the place was getting crowded by then. Need a sit down with some refreshing food? Give Stonefish Grill a go! read more

Monday Night Football was in full effect this late afternoon. I walked into a full and friendly bar. Thirsty and hungry from my beach day Stonefish Grill satisfied my appetite. The service is great. But we come for the food ofc and just the calamari that I ordered for starters was NOT IT. 10% calamari 90% batter had about 3 pieces of calamari then rest was all batter flakes everywhere... me and my bf ordered the loco moco and crispy hot chicken sandwich As a local from Hawaii in our opinion it's one of the worst loco mocos I've had .. 3/10 bottom of the egg was overcooked (as shown in photo) and the patty was dry . The sandwich was not crispy at all and just tasted like soggy chicken nuggets in a bun . Overall a like a 4/10 mostly for the service bc our server was very kind but food was not great. read more

Came here for lunch with a friend since it's not that busy at the time. We were greeted by the girls upon entering. The restaurant is pretty neat and cozy and I definitely love the vibes. I just ordered Caesar Salad and their 808 Cheeseburger. Actually it's not the best but it was good enough for my palate to enjoy the burger. Their salad is pretty fresh but I kind'a don't like the dressing. I end up not eating the whole thing. Back to the burger, I love the savory taste on it and I did appreciate the staff when I requested my patty to cook it rare as possible. I would definitely order this if I come back here. Prices are pretty high in here as tourists are their being number one target but I totally understand it. Suggested tip is totally crazy IMO. Will I be back? Not too soon. I'll explore more around. I had been in O'ahu, Hawaii, for several days, searching for a great fish meal. My quest came to an end at the Stonefish Grill on the North Shore. The atmosphere was perfect for a meal in a beach city. The hostess and the entire staff went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. We ordered the Blackened Ahi, which was fresh and delicious, and the nut-crusted fish. After tasting it, I knew I had hit the jackpot. The chowder was also exceptional. I look forward to returning to explore the rest of the menu. When you visit, be sure to tell them that Omar sent you. read more

Stonefish grill never fails. It delivers every time I go there with my hubby or with family. I like we can also walk around to the stores near by. Lance was our server and was superb. Two thumbs up! The ambiance was great with a beautiful Christmas tree. The food and drinks are amazing. I love this place when I sit inside and outside. I prefer inside at night and outside during the day. We were a group of 4 and one of us had the noodles with shrimp and 3 of us had the surf (filet mignon)and turf (lobster tail). It was a nice surprise to have surf and turf with noodles. They also have top shelf tequila 1942 so that was a plus! read more

Came here for a lunch on weekday. Ambiance was pretty clear and feels welcoming. Was greeted upon entering. The staffs were friendly and our server Mariah J. is so polite. FOOD. 6 Oysters - the current worst that I have. And they were so small too. Not appetizing so I let bandit ate the rest of it. Ahi Poke w/ Rice - no fishy taste at all which I am glad but no wow power at all. Pretty mediocre in my opinion. Loco Moco - (sigh) the patty is dry as I don't know what. Gravy is just okay. I will never order loco moco in here ever again. Service is good. Food is mediocre. Ambiance is great. Should I come back? I'll pass for now. This was our 2nd time here for breakfast & we loved it both times. Hubby had the Chorito Omelette this time & Da Big Braddah breakfast last time, which was his favorite since he's a biscuits & gravy kinda guy. I had the Spinach Bacon Omelette BOTH times because it was just so good! Even though we're both light eaters, an extra half spoon of those red fried potatoes would have been a plus bec they're so good too! As an artist, I love the decor and can feel the TLC, pride & creativity that went into this restaurant! Both times we went, there was plenty of available seating so we didn't feel the pressure to hurry thru our meal & coffee while Jazz was great at keeping our cups topped off :) We look forward to coming back for lunch before our time here is done since there are moretantalizing things we'd love to try! read more

Gluten sensitive mom+ kiddo and wanted to share the menu. Within 20 min of consuming gluten I get a migraine behind my eye and no migraines from stonefish grill! We ordered the fish sandwich to share and the kiddo ate most of it, which says a lot. We asked to season it with just salt and pepper, as the kiddo eats low FODMAP - and they grilled as requested. The bread looked and felt like a normal bun so we hesitated eating it, but I ate a portion with no issue. My husband ordered a salad with chicken and they cooked the chicken perfectly with just salt and pepper - for low FODMAP sensitive people (it seems they are able to accommodate) although we didn't request it cooked that way. We enjoyed our family meal and recommend it for GF or FODMAP sensitive people. I'm must note we do not have a gluten allergy so I didn't inquire about cross contamination. read more

Stonefish Gill First time eating here and let me tell you... that Roasted Chicken came out looking like it had been doing leg day for YEARS. The quarter leg was so huge I needed moral support. Meanwhile Kevin inhaled his plate like he was being timed. Man didn't speak. Not a word. Just vibes and chewing. The Prime? Flawless. You literally cannot mess up that cut unless you try, and they clearly did not try. We shared a Tiramisu that honestly made me question every Tiramisu I've ever had before. One of the best--dangerously good. Staff was on point, fully understood the assignment, maybe even extra credit. Love this place. Already planning my next attack on that chicken (might bring backup). The food came out hot & delicious. This was my first Poke Bowl so I was hesitant. But since I'm in Hawaii, I really wanted to try the local food. Our server, Jaz, was so good at describing how it's prepared. The restaurant was well lit and very clean. We enjoyed outside dining. Even with the heat, we had a nice breeze. We came the end of lunch time, around 3:30. We had an option of sitting inside or outside, we decided to sit inside. It was super nice inside with a nice ambiance. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, and had a training waitress assist as well. We got the lunch menu, where I ordered the ola boy sandwich with extra crispy fries. The fries were very unique and also delicious. The sandwich was good if you want an Asian styled fried sandwich. It has a slaw and eel sauce on it, which was good. Also, The chowder was so delicious. I would just a big bowl of it next time. Star of the show, would get again. We also got the loco moco. We were not a huge fan the flavor of the meat, very meat forward and not charred like other loco mocos we have had before. The rice and egg was good, but would probably try something else next time. Overall I would return again, especially to try the different menus. I really enjoy how they do different things depending on the time of day. read more

We enjoy the beverages (alcoholic and mocktail) and the food. The menu is not overwhelming but there are options for all. There is a separate gluten free and vegetarian menu. Be sure to snag both because the regular menu has some gluten free options that are not on the dated gluten free menu. Aloha! read more

It was lunchtime and we wanted to get out of the rain. We decided on Stonefish. We were seated quickly and the server was friendly. Started with the calamari which arrived hot and crispy - good appetizer to share. Given the reviews, I had to try the seafood chowder and it didn't disappoint. It was a good bowl of chowder and hubs noted it was probably one of the better ones he's had. Kiddo ordered the blackened ahi - she liked it but may be pricey at $20 for about 5 slices of ahi. She also ordered the rangoon which was served with a sweet chili sauce and a mango salsa. Goat cheese may be a strong cheese but it paired nicely with the mango salsa. Hubs ordered the prime rib loco moco - very hearty dish and full of flavor. I ordered the fish katsu sandwich - soft bun and a good sized piece of katsu. Reading this review was the most fun I have had on Yelp in a while.…
The service was very warm and loved that they had live music for brunch (the singer/pianist was very talented). Cool vibe inside and friendly wait staff. The food was ok. I wouldn't suggest getting the avocado toast as it was pretty uninspiring (could've really used some more seasoning- a sprinkle of some rock salt and Za'atar could go a long way). The Malassada pancakes were good (think fried pancakes) but could've used some fresh fruit on top or something (the table next to us got the banana pancakes which looked quite good) . The coffee was lukewarm and we sadly were never offered a warmer or refill. The fruit plate was great - the fruit was fresh and it was a bountiful spread (though greek yogurt would've been a nice sub for the banana-ish vanilla yogurt). The half eggs Benedict got rave reviews from my father-in-law (and love that they offer the half Benedict option). Overall, we had a nice experience and may have just not made the best ordering decisions. read more

I would like to watch the Super Bowl, is TV available and are there enough screens so everyone is not seated on top of each other?
The only tv's are at the bar (3 I think).and not a ton of seats. If you click on the interior pictures you can see the space and tv's.
We ate breakfast here 5 years ago and LOVED the crab cake Benedict. We loved it so much, we came back a few days later and were told it's only a weekend dish. We're flying back out next month and want to come by - is this still a weekend only dish?

Is the restaurant dog friendly?
Dogs are allowed on the outside area (patio). Service dogs for sure, but for regular dogs as long as they don't bark or cause a disturbance it should be fine! I would ask for an outside table when going!
