Finally made my way out to NS to try the infamous banana bread latte. It truly breaks me to write this as I had high hopes for it... but it wasn't the greatest. I will say that if you like your coffee sweet and like a creamier banana type coffee, this is for you. Buuut if you want that authentic local grammas baking kine banana bread, this coffee is not it. Note: Poor costumer service from the ladies at the counter. My little sister and I came here a couple of times to get coffees and matchas in the morning, and then an açaí bowls by mid-day the next. Ho'olana is the main coffee shop for the Ritz Carlton, meaning that you can expect a big line for that coffee rush in the morning. We got their iced strawberry matcha latte, which was really good, sweet, and had dairy substitutes available. We also got a banana bread and a muffin, both of which were okay, but not great. We came back the next day and got their banana bread latte was good, and has more of that caffeine kick if that's what you're looking for. We also ordered the açaí bowl, which was definitely pricey for the size, AND they ran out of strawberries, which was unfortunate. The açaí bowl was okay, but not worth the price for what it was. You can skip this one. The most notable thing, though, was the customer service. The ladies taking orders and preparing the pre-made food were very poor in customer service, help, and not willing to assist what-so-ever. They always seemed annoyed that people were ordering, and put a damper on the overall whole cafe experience. My grandma, who wanted to come here for her birthday in the morning, had additionally wanted to ask them what time they opened, as they had just closed, but instead of answering the question, or referring her online, they cut her off and said that they were closed, so they won't be assisting further. If you want anything other than a drink or a pastry, like a sandwich, then you should also expect a pre-made sandwich ALL with mustard and mayonnaise. All of them (is at least what they said when we asked if any didn't have that.) Thankfully, the view from the windows in the coffee lounge seating area makes up for some of the bad vibes. read more

I was hesitant to make the drive here because I live in town and it takes hours to get to the North Shore side depending on traffic. I was also hesitant because I heard about the drink from TikTok and was previously disappointed when trying another coffee spot that was raved about for the exact same drink. Needless to say, I decided to make the drive, hoping the coffee was just as good as everyone said it was. When I got to the hotel, I walked through the lobby and found the Ho'olana cafe. The people working there were really nice and greeted me as soon as I got into the line. I already knew what I wanted beforehand so I was pretty much in and out within minutes. I decided to try their banana bread latte and it was absolutely delicious! My coffee tasted exactly like a banana bread! There was no mistake about the flavor! I am a bit of a coffee snob and prefer fancy pour overs and third-wave coffee shops. That said, this place is fantastic! Their drip coffee is so full and flavorful (notes of chocolate and nuttiness). Their espresso drinks work very well with their espresso blend and are well balanced. My expectations are low for a resort coffee shop, but I was pleasantly surprised. We like to drive up to Turtle Bay on the weekend with our dog. We have enjoyed so many afternoons here with coffee enjoying the view. Today we arrived after they closed at 4pm and sat down to watch the storm. Kalei came up behind us with a giant pup cup for our dog and asked if it was okay. Maybe a little sweet for our liking but the flavors were incredible! The quiche was terrible. I read this in another review and tested it for myself... they were spot on. It was very dry. The crust was tasteless cardboard. Did not enjoy and for $14?! Not worth your money. The veggie lunch wrap was quite good as well, would also purchase again if I was looking for a quick lunch. Not sure if she was the manager or just a more senior employee but there was one middle aged woman who was not friendly or nice whatsoever. This is located inside the turtle bay resort bit locals love to come here and grab a coffee and chill a bit. Coffee drinks and good food with an unbelievable view of Kuilima Cove - not a bad way to start the day! I tried their PSL and it was good. I also got their egg white breakfast sandwich ($13) and lemon poppyseed bread. My friend got the breakfast pizza ($18) it was my favorite item! They serve it was salsa. It was definitely a winner! They have a meat breakfast pizza with sausage and cheese and eggs as well as a veggie one. We tried the veggie one. I used to come here before Turtle Bay renovated and it was called the Lobby Lounge. Oh my gosh - best coffee ever!! I had an iced latte with oat milk and mac nut with coconut. Another in our group had same thing but with vanilla instead of coconut. It was a dream! I'm a coffee snob. I have 2 top coffees and this is one of them. Super special. The staff was always friendly possibly aware I had recently rolled out of my bed and came downstairs to get my daily caffeine intake. You've got a counter with about three people working and a comfortable area of the lobby to sit. It's all counter service. I didn't try the food. Prices are a bit high but it's a luxury resort. The food is good and I here are several healthy options. They have a variety of cold items ready made like smoothies, overnight oats, chia pudding and such. The hot items are quickly reheated. The staff, like all the staff at Turtle Bay, are very good and friendly. My only ding is that their drip coffee is utterly weak and blah. If you want a mocha or such I've heard they are good but there should be at least two options of a dark and light roast on tap. read more
