808 Craft House has a decent atmosphere, but I was expecting a bit more given the location in Ko Olina. The ambience was okay, though it didn't quite stand out as much as I had hoped. The food was a mixed bag. The fish sandwich was overcooked and seemed to rely mostly on panko breadcrumbs for flavor rather than seasoning. The smash burger was good, but the patties weren't smashed thin enough to really deliver the crispy texture that makes a great smash burger. The coconut fried shrimp also tasted like a frozen product rather than something made fresh in-house. On the positive side, the pork tacos were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. They were flavorful, well-prepared, and showed what the kitchen is capable of when everything comes together. Overall, 808 Craft House delivered an average dining experience. While there were a few disappointments, the pork tacos helped redeem the meal. I'd consider coming back, but I'd likely skip some of the items I tried this visit. read more

When staying at the hotels nearby you will often hear about the monkeypod. The menu here looked better to me and I am glad we tried it. We actually were here twice within a week. Ask what the special is for the day since it's not always posted. Each time we were there the place was only about half full which is a shame since service was excellent and staff was so pleasant and attentive. Everything is open so you get the nice breeze and it's a relaxing vibe. My family wanted to go back to this place because they were here last year during their stay at Aulani last summer. I made a reservation on Open Table, but when we arrived, there were lots of open tables. We started with the pretzel, which to me was not worth $17. I ordered the Mochiko Chicken Cesar Salad and all three of my family members ordered Smash Burgers. They all really enjoyed their burgers and said they were delicious! I was looking forward to trying the salad! But when I received it, it was on the small side. The flavor was meh. It could've used more furiake and the chicken should be in bite size pieces so the salad is easier to eat. It definitely was not worth $25. Will I be back? One of my childhood friends came home to da 808, so we decided to do a small get together at 808 Craft House, as the the bar/restaurant was close to the Aulani Hotel (where my friend was staying). The restaurant has an open air, causal atmosphere, with several TV's for sports events. I didn't look at the menu as I was too busy chatting away & catching up, but my friend did the ordering & got several plates of Frrrrrrried Chicken wings, pizzas, & onion rings. Of course at "808 Craft House" they are known for their craft beers, so many glasses of beers were ordered that afternoon. Unfortunately for me, I no longer can partake in alcohol, but those beers sure looked refreshing. I was totally surprised about the parking situation for this strip mall. Why do I say this? Unfortunately at this strip mall, there is NO FREE parking at all (not the restaurant's fault). You have to use your smart phone & scan the QR code to pay for parking if you choose to visit any business on this strip mall property. I ended up paying $16.20 for 3 hours parking. I really wanted to like this place because I am a fan of visiting Ko'olina. I have loved this part of the island since I was a little girl. We visited this spot a little after the start of dinner time, but it felt like the restaurant was ready to close. Our waitress took a while to bring water to the table. We ordered the Mochiko chicken Caesar 's Salad , Steak Frites, wings and two drinks. The beverage I ordered was the 808 Craft Margarita. I am not a fan. I wish I went with a craft beer. The Fried Brussels Sprouts were our favorite, and it was not even close. The Portugese Sausage is a wonderful addition, and would be the reason that we return. As with most spots in Ko Olina, my main gripe is the parking--none of the restaurants validate, so you're paying by the half-hour just to eat. That makes it hard to linger and really enjoy. That said, we finally checked out 808 Craft House after passing it many times, thanks to a gift card from a friend. Monday evening was quiet, with the same football game playing on every TV. Service was polite and attentive without being overbearing. We started with a couple of beers and the hummus. It was fine, though I would've preferred more pita bread and fewer veggies on the side--pita would have elevated it. The hummus was quite thin. For my main dish, I had the hulihuli chicken. The glaze was tasty, but the star of the plate was the mango slaw--super flavorful and refreshing. On the flip side, the two scoops of plain white rice didn't add much to the meal. A garnish or light seasoning would have gone a long way. We would've loved to stick around for a few more beers and maybe even dessert but with parking running, it just didn't feel worth it. Great place for happy hour or a beer and some reasonably priced food near the hotels in Ko Olina. Lots of tables in an open-air, covered setting. If it's hot out, the breeze comes through. Service was excellent, from the hostess, to the server (Charity) and maybe a manager who stopped by to check on us. Select draft beers are $7, wines are 20% off, and well drinks are discounted (I can't remember the price). Theres also a discount on select appetizers and pizzas with 2 toppings. This is the happy hour special. They don't have a ton of beers on tap, but they have a lot in cans. I got the porter and my husband got the IPA (not on HH). Hubs loves a good smash burger and there was one on the HH so he tried it. I got the Bavarian pretzel with jalapeño beer cheese and mustard sauce, of which I'm a bit of a connoisseur. The pretzel and cheese were wicked good! The pretzel came out piping hot and was slightly crispy and buttery on the outside, with the perfect amount of salt and soft and chewy on the inside, just like I like it. The cheese was very tasty. The only thing is they never give you enough cheese, so I asked for another. Here's what the hubs said about the smash burger. The burger was overcooked (too crispy and dry) and it should have had 2 Pattie's for the bun-to-meat ratio. He said the bun was good but not for a smash burger. It was too big, not squishy enough. The fries were excellent! He gave the burger itself 2, which is what brought the review down. Worth trying this place, just maybe skip the smash burger. read more

The ribeye was cooked to temp and as requested for food intolerance needs. The burgers were amazing. Both came out on these super soft house made brioche buns. Just wow! I love bread, and I wish the ones I try to make at home came out like this lol. I also got onion rings with my burger. They were perfect. Not too much breading, and they were cooked well. Ive had them super hard at other places, so this was nice. The amount they give you in replacement of the fries may not look like much, but it will fill you up. Desserts we got the smores and the creme brûlée. I really enjoyed the creme brûlée. I thought the amount initially was kinda sparse, but it was good and turned out to be just the right size. The smores was ok. Im not a smores person, but the person who ordered it is. 808 Craft House is one of the newer location of the same people behind Waikiki Brewing Company and Cheeseburger in Paradise. With that in mind, it's a similar vibe and selection of beer and drinks, but the menu is a bit different. It's located in Ko Olina in the marketplace, on the left side when driving in near the train tracks. It used to be a pizza place we enjoyed, the windows/walls have been removed making a fresh air style place with outdoor yet shaded seating against sun and rain. There are other options nearby like Monkeypod, but this one feels a lot more casual for families or people just looking to grab a beer and watch a game. They have a bunch of seating, from bar and high tops, to sit down. They can accommodate groups of larger sizes too. The host staff was welcoming and friendly, as was the wait staff. Management is always great (cheers Nick & Joe). They have a full bar with wine, liquor, etc for cocktails. They primarily have Waikiki Brewing beers on draft but also offer a selection of cans/bottles from other breweries, local and national staples. The food here is excellent. They have pizzas and pupu, easy fun food, but also offer a number of plated meals. We had the benefit of going during a special event that really showcased the quality of what they can do.
