The best Italian, thus far! I'm glad we ended up here.. We walked in without a reservation yesterday around 5p and staff was welcoming. We were seated right away at the bar. Bartenders were friendly. I got the Pineapple Shrub mocktail which was refreshing. I ordered the Cacio a Pepe which has 2 kinds of cheese and fried prosciutto and made the noodles GF and lemme tell you... the BEST! Overall experience was incredible from start to finish. Hubby ordered the salmon funghi Alfredo and it was equally delicious! This is def a must!

Three cheers for Rigo!!! Hip hip Hooray! Hip hip Hooray! Hip hip Hooray! Everything from the entrance, sit down, greeting, selection help, dishes, and bill settlement was top notch! We had an amazing experience here and we just happened to stop by after visiting Leonard's Bakery. All of our dishes and drinks were fantastic (see pictures). If you are on Oahu and appreciate Italian Food, then Rigo is a destination you should schedule. Try to make reservations is you can; they are often booked solid. In a pinch, you can dine at the bar (still a wonderful experience).

Food: 10/10 everything was incredible. I have dreams of eating this food for the first time. The tacos were small but flavorful, pizza was incredible, the pasta was delicious. We can't pick a favorite. Service: It was busy but our server was attentive and always kept our table clean. Ambiance: Beautiful outside, beautiful inside. I saw some people dress down but this place is gorgeous. I'd definitely opt for dressing up. It is a little loud. Will definitely be returning.

Rigo Overall: Highly Recommended 5 of 5 Food: 5 of 5 Value: 4 of 5 Menu: 4 of 5 Ambiance: 5 of 5 Service: 5 of 5 Parking: 3 of 5 limited, lunch free, night $8 valet and street parking I've been coming to Rigo for years and I've always enjoyed their food. They are a Spanish-Italian fusion restaurant that specializes in tapas (small plates), pastas, pizzas and they have dishes that you can't find anywhere else. Their dishes are tasty and I recommend that you order 2-3 items per person. If you have a party of 3 and each person orders 3 dishes to share, then everyone can sample 9 dishes. They have a cool/hip interior design and the restaurant is packed on weekends. We've always had excellent service and the manager Jimmy, is very personal and professional. Again, highly recommended! I'm still dreaming about the carbonara with portabella fritta until now... When it was time for dessert I ordered another carbonara LOL Don't get me wrong the desserts were still very delicious, I'm not even a sweetie and I thought they were very good I'm actually a savory and so i opted for a savory dessert of carbonara I few dishes we tried included: Paella Negra - this is a delicious squid ink paella I never had anything like this before and I will order this again and again Crostini - like a Charcuterie Amuse-bouche, so darn yummmm pulpo, Mushroom pizza Vongole clams, carbonara with portabella fritto - omg omg omg this was by far my most favorite carbonara pasta I have ever tasted anywhere! I had to get 2 orders Lol bolognese Tiramisu It was a great ambiance with beautiful interiors and even beautiful venue for parties or work events! We were a group & we had reservations; i also brought my family and they loved it too!

Went to lunch at Rigo for my birthday and everything we ordered was amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are always the pasta. We ordered their lunch special- salmon shoyu butter pasta, plus the carbonara, the arugula and prosciutto pizza, and the arrabbiata pasta. The restaurant is very spacious with a mix of regular tables and booths. Our server was also very attentive and was able to give us good recommendations on what to order. 10/10!

We hadn't been to Rigo in quite a while so we thought we would revisit them. What a treat it was! Our server, Mickey, was very attentive and had great suggestions for us. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! My favorite was the gorgonzola rigatoni - creamy yet light and cooked perfectly. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

The ambiance was nice but the couch and lounge chair is really not good for fine dining. The food was pretty good especially the arrabbiata. The service was excellent we had a good waiter and waitress.

Rigo is a very refreshing Spanish-Italian fusion experience with many unique and delicious dishes. The staff were all very friendly and professional, would constantly check on us, and seemed like they genuinely loved being there. When we had menu questions, the staff were more than willing to answer our questions too, and were very knowledgeable in regard to the menu! All of the pasta was pretty amazing, but ESPECIALLY THE CACIO E PEPE! Hands down one of my favorite pastas i've EVER had. The crostini was cooling with a burst of flavors i can't even describe. I guess you'll just have to try for yourself! The cheesecake was okay, but was not exactly my cup of tea, I felt the taste was a tad bit confusing and bland. I also thought the tortilla was pretty good but the texture wasn't my favorite and a few bites were bland. The chocolate cassata was pure bliss. The arrabbiata was also so delicious. Definitely recommend! Overall, everything was great!

Made a reservation for 4 adults and 2 children and they were very accommodating. We were seated on a table with a couch that had extra wiggle room. Service was very attentive and all the staff there were very friendly. For appetizers, we ordered Patatas Bravas, Melanzane, Calamari Fritti, and the Garlic Parmesan Bread. All of the appetizers were delicious! I especially loved the Melanzane and the Calamari Fritti! The Melanzane had beef bolognese, jalapeños and eggplant with a side of toast. So flavorful and had a little kick from the jalapeño. Loved dipping the rest of the garlic bread in this spread. I was amazed at how tender the Calamari Fritti was! And the batter was crispy and paired well with the aioli. Wow I could polish off two of those plates! The Patatas Bravas was ok, not as crispy as I would have liked. For entrees, we got the Quattro Formaggi Pizza, Arrabbiata with Smoked Mozarella and Chicken, and Salmon Funghi Alfredo. The pizza was really good; Thin crust and full of cheesy flavor. Their pasta is so good and al dente! My favorite was the Salmon Funghi Alfredo. So creamy and the salmon flavor was subtle. Would get this again and again! The Arrabbiata was ok. A little bit too spicy for me and very tart tomato flavor but you can really taste the smoked mozzarella. I should've known it would be too spicy for me when it said it was a chili kneaded spaghetti lol. For dessert, everything sounded so yummy so we ordered the Crema Catalina, Basque Cheesecake, and Chocolate Cassata. Loved the Crema Catalina; it was their version of a Crème brûlée with a crispy caramelized sugar coating and custard. Yum!! The Basque Cheesecake was creamy and came with a yummy apple topping and Chantilly cream. The Chocolate Cassata was an ice cream cake that came with vanilla gelato, caramelized nuts and raspberry sauce. Loved the caramelized nuts and the presentation was beautiful. Overall really great place! Will definitely come back for their Al dente pasta and to try some of their other appetizers and pastas!

The casual yet upscale ambiance of the room has always been inviting. Great spot to enjoy cocktails Get there early if you need parking, space is limited. My favorite tapas - Vongole, crostini, calamari. Grilled octopus is my favorite but I've never been a fan of the sauce. Carbonara was rich in flavor but not enough guanciale or fried prosciutto to my liking. Missed dessert tonight but left fairly satisfied with the meal. Service was very good tonight , but service levels do vary. Good service really does change the dining experience here.

omgggg... lowkey feel like this review is looooong overdue because i go to rigo at least once a month. rigo has definitely become a place where i will have some cocktails and appetizers with friends casually, but also a place for celebrations and special occasions. rigo is also a place where i love to take family and friends who are visiting from out of state. i'd like to consider it my secret weapon with claiming i'm a foodie when i'm really just a girl who loves good food lol. service is always great and my favorite bartender, jakob is there! some must orders are the crostini, the alfredo, the bismark pizza... basically everything lol. they have this killer pornstar martini that is to die for. it has a coconut sugar rim and comes with a sidecar of prosecco, yum!!!! already dreaming about when the next time i'll be there! follow my foodie ig: smolgirlfatass

Tapas style dishes. Spanish-Italian menu with a Japanese finesse. Background: The Japanese restaurant group HUGE, runs 11 Rigo locations in Japan (each with its own unique menu to avoid the "franchise" tag). Building out the Honolulu location, they did not spare any expenses to bring the same quality of craftsmanship to Hawaii. Hence, a flashy red-mosaic Stefano Ferrara oven, handmade by a third-generation oven maker in Naples, to the Josper charcoal oven and grill from Spain. Likely the only one in Hawai'i. The Food: We settled in for a late Tuesday dinner and, reminiscing about our past trips to Spain, leaned into the Spanish side of the menu. We fired up the tastebuds with the corn mousse & uni. This dish perfectly captured the East-meets-West theme of the menu. Served chilled, light, silky, with a custardy mouthfeel and a subtle corn flavor As sexy as it looked, the uni's flavor got a bit lost in the mousse. The grilled pulpo was exceptionally tender and slightly smoky, paired with roasted potatoes and a bright tomato base. A classic Spanish dish that made us teary eyed for Barcelona. The salami jalapeño took the trophy for most interesting dish of the night. Baked spicy salami and cheese that comes bubbling hot in a clay ramekin flanked with toast points. I may have to supersize this dish for the Super Bowl. Not wanting to cause an international incident, we crossed the border into Italy and ordered the Lobster Risotto. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Creamy but not heavy, the rice infused with a wonderful lobster fragrance and the lobster ate sweet and tender. The clam caldo leaned more Japanese, with an aromatic, soothing broth touched with white pepper. Delicate yet flavorful. Excellent service! Warm and attentive. Limited parking in front. Happy Eating!!

Located in Waikiki along Lewers Street near Kuhio Ave. It's on the first floor sharing the same building with Oyster Hale and Genius Lounge. They don't have any affiliation with any parking garages, you're on your own. The inside is surprisingly big and spacious with bar and outdoor seatings, and high ceilings in the main dining room. The main theme is Spanish Tapas with mostly small or bite size dishes with a few paella and main entrees. Everything sounded good! "Pinchos" dishes is really just one bite. The Smoked Salmon was nothing special. It ate like a normal salmon with cream cheese. The other flavors such as dill, pink peppercorn, and orange did not come out. The Buñuelos Butterfish Fritter were good. Light, airy, doughy! nicely fried and seasoned. Didn't really taste much butterfish. The Tapas were a generous amount! The Shrimp Ajillo was flavorful with paprika and garlic. Shrimp was cooked well. The spice didn't come out from the dried chili peppers. The best was the Housemade Baguette! Warm, soft inside, crunchy outside. Better than at Vietnamese restaurants! Unfortunately, the dish and sauce was too salty--even for a person who likes more taste. The Octopus Ala Gallega was very good. Nicely grilled octopus to tender with a nice charred taste. Just needed some salt. Potatoes were good. Chimichurri sauce was flavorful. Generous amount of olive oil. The Uni & Crab Pasta was all right. I've had better. The spaghetti was a touch too Al dente. The flavor was very one note with the rich cream sauce and uni. There wasn't the sweetness from the crab. The cherry tomato was just there to be there for a bite. Would have been nice to get some acidity and sweetness throughout the dish. The Seafood Paella was very basic. Very disappointed with zero char on the rice. What's the point of the pan? It definitely needed higher heat. Everything ate like it was covered and simmered on low heat until the seafood was cooked. Very simple. The Ube Basque Cheesecake was good. Not too sweet, not too much Ube flavor with a light custard-like interior. Overall, this was a decent meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented, but needed some seasoning adjustments. Don't think I'll order the same dishes next time. The service was excellent. Very friendly, information, and attentive server. Comfortable dining area. Unfortunate it has no parking affiliation. I'll definitely comeback for their Housemade Baguette!

Simple order, #5…read moreone pastele (hot) and gandule rice, 1 small order of pastele stew, and 1 side order of bacalao salad, and 2 pastele lumpia. Hubs picked up the order and brought home lunch. Side note, the last time I ordered the stew/rice combo, it wasn't enough for the Mr, and since there was rice at home, he ordered the stew separate. I was in a meeting, and would enjoy my food after I was done. As I stepped out of my home office, I see hubs hardly at any stew, and I asked him if he was waiting for me to eat. He said no, and told me "if you want the stew, you can have it". Oh no, I know exactly what that means, so I offered him half of my pastele plate. He said no, and he looked bummed out. I knew I would need to reheat my plate, as it sat for 20 minutes before I got to eat it. While I was reheating my plate, I took a bite of his stew. I had to stop and look at the stew and it looked different. So I took another bite. The taste was ok (not like the amazing stew in the past), but the meat had a different texture. One more bite.....that's when I realized and then asked hubs, "Is that ground pork? Is that why it's different?" And he agreed, "that's what it is! ground pork!" The flavor was a bit off too, but the meat made all the difference. My reheated #5 plate was fine, a little bit salty, but just fine, no complaints. Finished up with the pastele lumpia, which was greasy (usually is unless its fresh) and asked hubs about the bill. Well, I understand inflation is a terrible thing for small businesses and consumers, but my jaw dropped when he said it was $50. And he wasn't a happy camper about the price or the stew. -Sigh- I don't give up easily on places I've enjoyed for years, so I will be back, eventually.

Outstanding. I hate to even write a review because I want Castro's to be the hidden gem that it is…read more I discovered Castro's on a whim of wandering around Hawaii. The location off the beaten path is what originally drew me in. The exterior patio seating with blue umbrellas made me curious. Once I walked inside, I instantly knew the Cuban food was going to hit. Not only did it hit, it exploded into space and I returned 4 times on my vacation and recruited family members to go multiple times as well. On my first solo visit, I was going in to strictly get coffee and then decided to give a main dish a shot which was the traditional cuban. Let me tell you - I wish my husband was with me as the portions here are out of this world. This dish came out on a colorful dish on top of a bamboo board with fruit galore! It looked like a painting that I shouldn't touch but rightfully did. Needless to say, I had a leftover box on day 1. I then returned more times and want to highlight the Monte Castro sandwich which I fortunately or unfortunately split with my husband. Unreal!! It was drizzled in honey, served on the bamboo plate, had double decker bread and a plethora of fruit and some picked veggies on the side. I don't want to say more because I want everyone to go and split this meal with a loved one. It is award winning deserving. For my 3rd visit, I had the papaya bowl and once again - it was fantastic and required a to-go box as well. I'm so sad to know I'll never get to try the tres leche French toast as my vacation is coming to a close and there are so many more items I wanted to try. Castro's knows how to do it and I really think all restaurants should take notes from this establishment. From the water guns to spray the birds away to the dining service experience to the quality and taste of the menu item - chef's kiss. Thank you, thank you!!! Best meals in Hawaii hands down. OUTSTANDING!!

It's a small place with some seating both inside and outside. Service was relatively fast. One of the staff didn't seem very friendly and rolled their eyes when we asked to make a change to our order, but aside from that everything was fine.

Standouts were the clam & sausage, he'e luau and hand cut ragu pasta. Service was friendly without being intrusive. Only wish the lighting was a little brighter as my old eyes struggled a bit. There is a back area with brighter lighting, next time we may request that. Wished we had bigger stomachs or more people so we could have ordered more bc so many dishes on the menu looked tasty! I really enjoyed seeing the John Young artwork on the walls - a mix of his well known horse and children works and some abstract pieces too - such a fantastic local artist. Highly recommend! Parking can be tough but is possible, just may have to walk a little. The parking lot in back is small with only a handful of spaces.

Looking to find a decent tasting Pastele. Decided to try Wat Get Kitchen. We ordered the Hapa plate. It comes with one pastele, gandule rice and bacaloa salad. My wife and I wanted to try the empanada. Unfortunately the fryer was broken. The Pastele had a good taste. The rice was ok. The Bacalao salad was made fresh as we were watching. Not a bad choice if looking for pastele. We were served by Cory. Funny and very personable. Enjoy.

Those items are probably their most popular menu items. I asked if Bacalao Salad would be spicy - no - it's more of a salty fish. Okay... let's do it! Wat Get Kitchen is mainly a takeout establishment. The free shared parking is much appreciated. The interior is not air-conditioned. Service is efficient and helpful! Thanks for your patience when I asked questions! I liked the Bacalao Salad! It was light, refreshing, and just right! There was a tangy-sweet dressing which can be served on the side if you won't be consuming it within an hour. The cherry tomatoes and lettuce were fresh! It was a pleasant experience!

Whoa! Amazing date night here on a Friday night!!!…read more Very romantic and intimate restaurant with outstanding service. Chisum was our server and he was just excellent. All of the server staff was super attentive. My husband and I both chose the prix fixe menu. It's $125. Every dish was excellent!! You have to get the squid ink pasta, truffle pasta and the lamb chops. My filet was also cooked perfectly. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu.

The restaurant validates parking, $8 for 4 hours, tip not included. For my son's 18th birthday he wanted to eat pasta. After looking at many Yelp reviews, we ended up making reservations at Taormina. Unfamiliar with the menu we decided to do the five tasting course. As of 4/22/26 the base price is $125 and depending on what you choose, there are some add ons. For example the carbonara was +$25 and the Ricci di mare was +$18. Food: the Focaccia bread was free and comes with free refills. The salmon with caviar was really good. It had the perfect balance but very small, about 1.5". The next dish was the baked abalone. That was also very delicious but two bites and it's over. At this point, we were starting to think we would leave hungry. The next dish was the pasta. We tried both the carbonara and the Ricci di mare. Both were very good. The carbonara came with freshly slices truffles and thick crispy pieces of bacon. Highly recommend for truffle lovers. I'm not a huge uni fan but surprisingly the Ricci di mare was also really good. Of note, the pasta in the five course tasting is half the size of the regular order. Even at half the size, I felt the serving portion was good. I felt satisfied but not full. The next dish was the main course so filet mignon and monchong. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly but I personally didn't like the sweet sour balsamic vinegar taste that was drizzled over. I would have preferred it to be more savory. The monchong was okay but a little overcooked for my liking. The portion size of the main course was good. Lastly was our desert but to our surprise, they brought out a nicely written happy birthday platter with half a lava flow desert and a small scoop of ice cream. My son really enjoyed it. The creme caramel was also good and reminded me of flan. Service: the waitress did her job but I personally felt we had better service entering the restaurant and being seated. She had no smile, did not offer any recommendations, and no small talk which is fine but noticeable. Our bill came out to $463.87 tip not included. Though we really enjoyed the salmon and abolone I'm not sure it's worth the price and the extra three bites. Next time I would just stick with the pasta. If we had just ordered the full order of pasta our bill would've been $195.

Came here for the drinks, wanting to come back to try the food and see the bartenders again!…read more Initially when I read some of the Yelp reviews that talked about the "NY/LA vibes," I thought to myself, "maybe I can skip out on this one." I'm your Cali girl, and you know we be bougie, hipster-esque, and fancy. But I'm also the girlie that likes uniqueness and different and unfamiliarity -- thus I didn't have too high of an expectation for this place. Boy, was I wrong. The drinks here were beyond my expectations. Bartenders were great! I felt like I made instant friends after my one drink. Huge shout out to Boo and Keisha! For drinks, I had the Viva la Matcha and Elevated Boca (per recommendation of Boo). I love Jasmine tea, and Viva La Matcha didn't disappoint. I smelled and tasted the floralness of the Jasmine, and loved how it was topped off with a matcha Pocky! The Elevated Boca is probably one of the best old fashion I've had. The couple next to me got a variety of food that looked amazing. I will have to come back to try the food. And I promised my Boo that I would. Bartenders were great. I came myself and sat at the bar. So I loved watching their interactions and mixology of drinks. Lastly, vote for Boo the Bartender! She's in a competition for a great cause. Proceeds go to an organization that brings awareness and prevention to girls bullying other girls! Link below! See ya ladies, drinks, and food next time! https://barboss.org/2023/boo-hooligan-2
