Now this is a sushi spot! the nigiris were so delicious and big portions was worth the wait. All the nigiris and sushi were delicious and made fresh. What I especially appreciated was that the server noticed that my first serving of shrimp tempura was a bit sad looking and without me having said anything, she brought me a replacement dish. That proactivness was really great and showed us how much the staff and chefs care about you having a good experience there. We came on a wednesday at 2pm and there was still a bit of a wait, but we are so glad we came because it was absolutely worth it.

I don't know how I've managed to not eat at Sushi Bay, but now that I've tried it, I can never go to Genki again! The sushi was so good and way better than any other "fast food" type sushi (Genki/Kozo). I couldn't believe how big the pieces are, and everything tasted so good. I was worried that the price point would be more than what I pay elsewhere, but I actually ended up spending way less! Service was quick once we got in, but we did wait about an hour on a Saturday right at lunchtime. I like the fact that you can see them making your sushi. Definitely worth making the trek to Kapolei from town. I already want to go again!

Came to Sushi Bay on a saturday and there was a long wait. I took that as a sign that its probably really good. After waiting 45 minutes we got seated but the food came pretty quickly. The raw fish here is pretty good while still being fairly affordable. It was nice to have sushi without breaking the bank. Will probably come back again but on a day without the long wait.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon at 1pm. I put my name down and was seated immediately, which is typically not the case on the weekends. I haven't dined here in a while and I didn't realize how much it changed. We were seated at the counter top but they do have some booths. It is a pretty tight area to navigate and sit in. Service was amazing from the hostess, server, and chef. 10/10 recommend Sushi Bay! I love eating here whether it be dining in or taking out.

Absolutely fresh fish every time we come here!!! Excellent customer service!!! Friendly staffs!!! We came around 1030am to sign in for 1100am opening time. We were one of the last two groups of customers making it into the restaurant for the first round. BYOB They didn't rush us at all!!!

Still my fave even after 7 years. Times has change not much seating for dine in. But there is sitting. But probably better if you just do a pick up. I ordered the mixed don and salmon skin. My two faves. The salmon skin is so delish. Mixed don was super spicy this time or I'm just not use to it anymore. The rice was great with it. There was a lot. Service is always served with Aloha. Parking in huge plaza shared by other restaurants and stores.

My go to sushi spot! If you're on the west side and don't mind waiting for a table definitely check them out. Or if you're impatient like me call ahead and place a takeout order! Saves you plenty of time and the food is still so ONO!!!

When I say I love Sushi Bay, I truly mean it. I've been coming here since they first opened years ago--back when I was still in high school--and it has stayed one of my all-time favorite sushi spots on the west side. To put it into perspective, there was a flash flood warning during a storm this week and I still drove 40 minutes just to pick up takeout from them. That's how worth it this place is to me. The portions here are insanely generous, especially for the price point. You get so much food, and the quality never feels compromised. The fish is consistently fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, which is why I keep coming back year after year. Their service is also incredibly efficient. You can tell this team really knows how to run a tight operation. They stayed open and adapted throughout COVID, and that ability to pivot and keep things running smoothly still shows in how quickly and reliably they handle orders today. If you wanna sit inside, I urge you to come towards open or with the expectation to wait a bit. You sign up on the clipboard outside and wait patiently. The good news is that they turntables extremely quickly. Places like this are rare--great food, great value, and a team that clearly cares about what they're doing. I'll always make the drive for Sushi Bay, and I genuinely hope they stay open forever.

Good food, fresh poke, everything fresh. Service was excellent and friendly. You'll be able to watch the workers rolling and making your orders in front of you. Lots of seating and place gets busy all throughout the day. I can see and understand why. Prices are decent for the portions given on each item. I love it here and need to come more often from now on. I'll be back for more, highly recommend.

I'm a big fan of Genki Sushi and haven't been to Sushi Bay since high school (over 10 years) so I wasn't sure what to expect but after my recent visit I totally get the hype now! I ordered the dynamite roll, unagi nigiri and the fried calamari and everything was so yummy! I really liked how the dynamite roll had avocado in it and I was so impressed with how huge the unagi pieces were for the unagi nigiri. The calamari came in a big portion and it was so tasty with the sauce too. The wait is a bit long, especially if you come during peak times but I think it's definitely worth it for the quality and amount of food you get!

You can NEVER go wrong when it comes to this place. Everything is made AND tastes so fresh!!! We love coming here & it's always great when we could beat the crowd and get seating lol Our favorites as you can tell; Garlic Salmon, Spicy Tuna, & their huge portion of Unagi. Their portions are out of this world. It's priced well and not ridiculous. Food does come out quite quick & is still made in front of you. My son looooves his Udon noodles.

We all try to work hard. Please step up your basic service. The local industry people will always be happy to take care of you.

I came here for the hamachi nigiri. I was told there was none. I asked the waitress to please double check and without hesitation she said "we're all out." It's fine if things are out of stock so I ordered other items. However, when people next to us who were seated well after us and ordered well after us got a plate of hamachi nigiri I had to ask our waitress what's up? She said she was mistaken and that they were out of the hamachi Kama (the cooked collar of the fish) and she asked if I wanted hamachi to-go but at that point we'd already ordered and received most of our other food. The waitress also said she'd check if there was miso soup. She never come back with a response. I had to ask the sushi chef about our unagi nigiri. He told us he accidentally gave it alway to the people next to us. When we got our last item the spicy tuna roll, it was mostly rice and there was more cucumber than there was fish (see pic). We also had to flag someone down for water. Service 101. This definitely wasn't worth the hour drive to get here from the windward side in traffic, and the 30 minute wait it took to get seated. This deserved 0% tip, but being in the service industry for many years I never tip less than 20%. I hope they realize I'm happy to tip 30%, 50%, or 100% for good service/ food quality/ atmosphere. Auwe.

Outstanding sushi for a reasonable price. I love the rice to toppings ratio here at Sushi Bay. Just immediately sign in on the board outside and the wait wasn't long. You order to a server and are handed your items. Lots of free parking because it's in a strip mall. ENJOY!

Ask the Community - Sushi Bay

Is this an all you can eat?

    No, it's all ala carte.

    Are you open December 31st?

Yes, we are open for take out, 10:30-5:45, dine in 11:00-3:00. We will be closed on New Year’s Day, thank you and Happy New Year!

    Do you offer gift cards?

    Yes they have gift cards.

Are you open on the 4th of July?

Yes we are, regular hours: take out 10:30-5:45, dine in 11:00-5:00 Thank you

Do you have eat-in dining and do you open at 10:30 on Mondays?

    Yes and yes

Are there special ours for New Years day?

So sorry just saw your question we were closed today.

Is sushi bay open on DEC. 26?

Yes, we are open from10:30-6pm. Thank you.

Open on Christmas days? Half days?

We are closed on Christmas Day, sorry!

    Dine in open?

Yes. Literally just came from there an hour ago and people were eating inside. Lots of people waiting outside to be seated as well.

    Is dine-in open now?

    Yes!!!

Do they sell their spicy poke and ahi poke by the pound?

I saw about 10 months ago you only do takeout. Is this still the case?

Yes, as of 9/30/21, they're still only doing take-out, and you have to have your order in by 5:45pm.

Open for Dine in or still only take out?

Still only take out. Dining room too small to operate with social distancing. Until protocols are lifted, we will be only take out, sorry!

How many days in advance should I place an order for a platter?

If it’s just one platter we can do it within 30 minutes or less for regular days. On holidays we would like an hour or two, but call in your order and we can let you know then how long it will take. We will make it as soon as possible. Thank you!

How many oz of poke is in the regular spicy tuna don? Also how many cups of rice?

What is the update on Sushi Bay being open during April? I've tried calling multiple times for 30 minutes. It would be nice if they left a message on their phone with any updates so we don't waste our time calling for nothing.

You can check GRUBHUB, they were on it last week for delivery.

Are you open for takeouts during the Pandemic?

They're only open for takeout orders right now.

Is sushi bay going to open for take out only for the month of April?

We are currently closed until further notice out of concern for our staff and customers. When the curves starts flattening, we will open for take out. Thank you for your question and be safe! I will update all yelpers on our opening date, thank you!

    Do they do take outs?

Yes they do. I would highly recommend calling in a take out order so you don't have to wait for a table.

Do you pay per roll? How much money would you typically spend here for a family of four-six people?

You pay according to the plate color! Same concept as Genkis. For average spending, it really depends on the person and how much they want to eat. I feel like an average person eats about $20?

Tye leads by example and goes out of his way to make us feel like family every time we walk through the doors. The food is phenomenal--we can never get enough of the Garlic Sweet Edamame, Honey Sambal Chicken Wings and the Mongolian ribs. The service is always impeccable. Thank you, Tye, for another memorable evening. We can't wait to come back next year! Frank and Denise ( Dallas Texas) 2026

First off I gotta say that more restaurants should do a bowl of seasoned edamame instead of complementary bread. I could not stop eating these, they were addicting.
