Place is close to home so we go quite often for AYCE. So worth it!! Good selection and dishes are tasty. Service is good also but can be busy which will slow things down. For around $35 AYCE, the quality is honestly a steal. The variety is solid too -- tons of rolls to choose from, plus fried sides, miso soup, veggies, and more. You definitely don't feel limited for the price. The AC is always bumping so bring a jacket if you're cold easily. Service is always quick and helpful, and the food comes out at a steady pace so you can keep the rounds going. My personal favorites? Anything with shrimp tempura and spicy ahi. I always ask for unagi sauce on the side to dip everything in -- it adds that perfect touch of sweetness. This review is based off of the Spicy Ahi Salad with Sesame Dressing, due to that being the only thing on the menu I have tried. The Spicy Ahi is great and I love how they diced the ahi up small! The lettuce is crispy and fresh, but I would love if a tad more was given in the salad. The dressing is so Ono and pairs super well with the spicy ahi! The staff when I walked in greeted me and was very nice! There are tables to dine in, but I haven't tried dine in yet! Ahi & Vegetable has quickly become one of my go-to spots since moving to the beach! I almost always get the Sumo Plate Combo, which is around $10, and it's such an amazing deal. The portion is huge -- I can honestly never finish it all. You get so much food for the price and everything is always fresh and satisfying. I also love coming here for their poke bowls, which are consistently good and hit the spot every time. Another thing that makes this place special is the staff. First time here and I must say, I don't know why it took us so long! I've seen this company at a few parties. They were providing their mobile services... So we always wondered what the store location would have. When you first walk in you wouldn't think this place would be an AYCE restaurant... but we seen the option on the door. At first we were just going to order bentos, but their AYCE menu we couldn't just pass up. One thing we did notice was that there would be a charge for my 1 year old who barely eats much... But one of the owners were there and waived the fee for my son. That may be a downfall to come back with my kids if I need to pay $11 for my 1 year old to eat a few strips of noodles. Hoping they can reconsider that charge in the future. As for the food, I could not complain! Everything was fresh, quick to be delivered and it was worth the price we paid. This is my second time here and slightly disappointed. We got there right when they opened and to be seated, you have to go to the front register to let them know you're doing the AYCE. The price and menu hasn't changed drastically. The quality of the food was consistent from the last time I came. The only difference was service. It took a while to get our orders. We put in the first order. You can order as much as you want at one time, but we were being mindful. That was a mistake. It took forever to get the first order and they wouldn't give us the menu again to place a second order until the first one came. But the orders were coming one by one so we were finishing it quickly. The mussels took the longest and we didn't get ours until maybe 45 minutes into the service. They finally told us they were backed up after we put in our second order. I understand that the kitchen can get busy and at least at the end when we left, they told us we still had mussels waiting but since they took so long they let us take it out. We came one time before this to try the AYCE sushi, and ever since then I have been dreaming of coming back! They offer AYCE sushi everyday 11am - 8pm, for $35/person. Everything is so fresh and so delicious. My favorites are the hamachi aburi nigiri and scallop aburi nigiri. They also have a Limited Time Menu (attached photo below) Our experience did start off a bit bumpy. We were first in line when the restaurant opened at 11am, and I thought we had submitted our orders on the laminated menu first. But the other 2 tables started getting their food first. My husband said he overheard the waitress say "table 1 (where we were seated) hasn't got any of their orders yet" to someone in the BOH. It took a while but they were apologetic and the food started coming. It was well worth the wait and I feel like the girls working today redeemed themselves. read more

Our favorite ayce sushi on island! From quality and price, how can you beat it? We prefer this location as there's a lot of parking and not as much traffic compared to their other location. No reservations, however they do have a sign in sheet which goes by pretty fast. Larger groups should go early as this location isn't as big as their town location. Their ayce menu consists of different types of nigiri, rolls, appetizers, and more. For extra, you can get sashimi and some other specialty items like ikura. We love the variety and the options versus only having sushi as an options. Their fried ika legs are always cooked to perfection and it's huge. Their fish is always fresh. The staff is always friendly, making sure we constantly had our waters full, and orders in. For the price and quality this is sure a win. Especially on the west side. Just a tip: If you pay with cash, it's a little cheaper versus paying the credit card fees. read more

Instead they gave me masago or tobiko. It's on the menu, but even when I ordered the meal at cashier the cashier didn't know what it was so I had to point it out on the menu. The fried calamari tasted of old oil, the aburi ahi had a chewy piece of fat through it that made it impossible to eat, the masago tasted old and fishy (in a very unpleasant way), even the agedashi tofu wasn't right. Came here yesterday to do AYCE sushi. Not my first time here but our first time we ordered their "otoro." They brought it out with our order and we assumed it was just regular ahi, and they upcharge $3 more for each otoro order. We ate it and it tasted good but it was definitely NOT otoro. We asked the server where our otoro was and they said "the red ones was the otoro." Otoro is usually a lot more pinker, I have never seen otoro RED. He said a lot of people confuse the ahi with otoro. Okay so many people make the same complaint and you guys don't think to do something about it? He offers to remake it so he did and brings back the same cut of ahi. I ask him again if that's really the otoro and he said yes. So I asked to see the regular ahi and he brings over someone else's boat to do a side by side comparison AND THEY LOOK THE SAME so we sent it back. I've seen older pictures of people buying otoro here and they absolutely do not look the same as the ones we got last night. Yeah it's only $3/order on top of the $40 you pay for AYCE but don't tell me to my face that this ahi is otoro. I'm still annoyed they even charged us for the first three "otoro" orders at all. My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant for a light dinner after doing some errands at the nearby establishments. It was our first time here, and we had no clue they have All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Sushi. We were stuck between going for the AYCE or picking from the regular menu. But then, our server, Alyssa, patiently helped us figure it out and walked us through the menu. Her chill vibe, and helpful tips made the decision easier. I opted for the Sumo Spicy Ahi Bowl with sushi rice which is surprisingly a couple dollars cheaper than the Spicy Ahi Bowl. The portion was generous, and the price was just right. Sometimes, I like my ahi shredded and with the perfect sauce, it had me hooked from the first bite and I just couldn't stop eating it. The cleanliness of the place added to the inviting ambiance and Alyssa's impeccable service deserves a special mention. She's attentive, friendly, warm, and always ensuring we had everything we needed, even during the dinner rush. We'll definitely be back, perhaps to try their AYCE option next time. Wife and I had a spontaneous drop in at Ahi & Vegetable Ewa Beach. We discovered that their All You Can Eat is offered every day of the week now. At roughly $35 per person, we thought you really can't go wrong with that price since our average bill at Genki runs about $100. By 11:15am, the restaurant already had (what appeared to be) some regulars doing the AYCE. First impression - the servers were nice and welcoming, and there was a comfortable vibe in the atmosphere. The restaurant is fairly small, with about 10 tables that range from 2 tops to one 6 top. We were lucky to get a 4 seater tucked away in the corner. Once the server came to our table, we let her know we'd be trying the AYCE and that we brought our own beers. She happily said "no problem, we're BYOB" and introduced the ordering system of marking the dry erase menu with our kitchen selections. At first, it seemed like there was a lot to choose from, but with the large portion of rice and fish per 2 piece, and being told we'd have to pay for the leftover food, at the end of the meal there wasn't much that we tried. One downfall is the primary item I wanted was already sold out for the day - the Hamachi Kama. This forced me to rethink what I'd be eating since the Hamachi Kama was the main part of my meal plan. Things we ordered: - Fried calamari: was soaked in oil, clumped & mushy - Miso soup: bowl was wreaking of dish soap :( - French fries - Baked mussels - Agedashi tofu - Nigiri: Hotate, hamachi, masago, tamago, unagi, aburi ebi, spicy ahi, salmon w/onion, ikura (add $3) The nigiri were all okay, except the tamago - I wouldn't order that again here. My wife loved the ikura which unfortunately came at an additional cost. The scallops were very plump and delicious as well. The hot items could've definitely been served better. The miso soup was delicious but it was not pleasurable to eat because the bowl had such a strong smell of dish soap. I mean, thank you for the clean bowl, but - yaaaa.... I was sad about the fried calamari being undercooked and in a few big clumps. It looked great when it hit the table, but as we tried grabbing the first pieces out, we seen it was stuck in clumps and just drenched in oil so the outside breading was falling off and it was soft and mushy. Very off putting! I should've asked for a remake, but we decided to just focus on the rest of our meal. To conclude the experience - it was just OKAY. I should've changed my mind and done ala carte once we were told they didn't have Hamachi Kama, but I gave the AYCE a shot since the price is so reasonable. The loads of rice used to make the sushi steered me away from trying more of a variety tho. What was listed above is all we got to try, partially because the time was going and we kept having to ask for a new menu so we could add items on. There wasn't any button on the table like the other location, so the time lapse between waiting for service delayed the process and we ended up calling it quits. On a positive note, the servers were really nice, that's always a huge plus for us. We'll surely be back to visit Ahi & Vegetable, but probably not for their AYCE. read more

What a pleasant surprise this place was. I've seen them open but opted for go to places in this area instead. Today we walked in thinking rice bowls only but I was wrong. Menu was big to me. A lot of choices from sushi, salad, and bento boxes. What we didn't know was it was an all you can eat sushi for 90 minutes. It's one of those things that if you know you know. We ended up not getting all you can eat as we weren't that hungry and got a sumo spicy ahi bowl (a special) and a chirashi bowl. Fish was definitely fresh and was really a good portioned bowl. Maybe there was too much rice as I had about a quarter of the bowl left with rice only. The server had a lot of patience for us. I like nice and respectful workers like that.
