Long time favorite to have a wonderful meal with good entertainment and a sunset viewing. Tried the Ko Olina tea: recommend asking for no ice and adding several sugars. This was our first time not really enjoying our meal. The coconut shrimp was cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The Asian salad came with a big chunk of pale chicken breast. I'm accustomed to shredded chicken and was surprised to have to slice up my chicken. We were meeting friends who live by Monkey Pod. They dropped a pin. Definitely a great place to eat while hanging out on the beach had the poki bowl, fish tacos and the Asian chicken salad, last night we had the hamburger and fries along with the tuna melt! So far we have definitely not been disappointed! The ahi poki bowl was off the chart good! If you like sushi rolls then this is one that is just deconstructed! I added an extra side of wasbi , my wife had the tuna melt and Asian chicken salad and raved about both, my sister in law had the fish tacos and also raved about them! But above all the great food the two ladies that served us Melissa and Marylou were the best waitress that we have had on the island so far! The service was definitely the best part of this meal. We ordered three keiki burgers and one fish and chips, upgraded to garlic fries - extra crispy. Well they were just extra oily - not crispy. My kids said the burgers were not great so I tried a bite, and they were correct (and my children are not picky) in saying it was just okay. My 9yo said the lettuce was the best part and it looked wilted and sad. Now we all have weird stomach aches, and this was our only meal today. Crazy that I paid $80 to not feel well. read more

Longboards is located at Koolina Lagoon 3 and is with the Marriott Hotels & Resorts. View of the beach is nice with open air, outside seating. We stayed at the resort a few times and when we are looking to grab some food and don't feel like leaving Koolina we would stop here. This place can get crowded and some nights they have live music so great ambiance. Most times we just order out and take it back to our rooms or eat by the poolside. Food and drinks are the normal resort prices. We normally order French fries and poke nachos most of the time because its really refreshing and a great pupu for the pool days. We had the Prime Rib Special and it was really good for the price. read more

We had fish tacos (which were sizable, and pretty good), the ahi sandwich (pretty good), and the special of the day, which was mahi mahi with a chipotle cream sauce (I think). The only reason that I think anyone eats at Longboards (located on the Marriott Ko Olina grounds) is because they are desperate for food and/or too lazy to go to any of the restaurants less than a mile away on Olani St. Which was exactly our experience when eating here - we had just arrived at the resort, it was 6:30pm and the kids were starving and we didn't have our rental car yet. Food: We order the Kalau Pork Nachos, Island Fish Tacos, Chicken Tenders, and Keiki Burger. With tip, the meal was $100. The food quality was about what you would expect if you went to the freezer aisle, picked up a bag of Tyson frozen chicken tenders, and heated it up. Service: The people were lovely, and the reason why this is 3 stars. Ambiance: At night, it's lively, likely because most everyone there at that time has spent the entire day drinking too much alcohol. It wasn't a place we wanted our kids to spend time. read more

We were walking along the jogging path and decided to try to order the fish and chips. The fish is Mahi-mahi and it's not fishy. There are four big pieces of fish with ample French fries on the side. The only missing piece is the malt vinegar. Service for the take out was quite a wait maybe because it was almost sunset. I was asked by another server and she helped me with my order on another station. This serving was good. I would definitely go back and try some other entrees. read more

After a nice time at one of the KoOlina lagoons, we enjoyed our lunch here. The food was excellent, the view was beautiful and we were seated quickly and served quickly. When I requested the check, our server had it ready. I had my credit card in hand but I always review the bill before handing it over. I took the check to look at it, and the server abruptly vanished. Meanwhile, the check contained multiple items we did not order, alternating between the things we did order, bringing the bill to double what it should have been. When she returned I politely pointed this out and she took it and returned shortly with a corrected check. I paid and left a normal tip. Maybe it was a simple mistake. However, the restaurant was not busy while we were there, and the dining selections we made were quite specific with substitutions listed on the check. The erroneous additions were not tacked on at the end or beginning but placed between our actual order items, and I think many people might have overlooked the charges if in a hurry. Again, maybe this was a simple mistake. But I'm sharing here in case others have a similar experience. Check your bill here. The food was excellent and the service (other than the check) was also good. Slightly expensive but it's a resort restaurant so you should be prepared for that. read more

We are here several times during our visit to Ko Olina..Fish tacos were so yummy!! Tuna melt was spot on made with fresh fish! We went one night to have the daily special spaghetti and it came out completely puzzled us, made with fettuccine noodles and some tomato sauce when I asked for marinera sauce they took my plate and dumped a scoop of marinera sauce on top of it! Kind of weird but whatever! Drinks were flat but didn't stray anywhere as an alternative.. I just like my Diet Coke! And it always tasted flat here. read more

Service is good, drinks are tasty, food is good... go for the ambiance and the view. And, maybe, if you time it right - live music. We had the ahi/poke nachos, which were yummy, and the shrimp cocktail, which was average. I enjoyed my Pina colada, and he liked his watermelon cooler drink. We loved watching the ocean and the sunset while listening to live Hawaiian music. On a sustainability note, it would be great if they could provide reusable cups/ glasses to those who are dining in. Long-term, it will save them money and save the planet's limited resources. Clearly, they have a dishwasher... and while the single use cups are compostable, there is currently no commercial composting in Hawaii, so the cups are going to the landfill where they'll produce methane. read more

Longboards--talk about location, location, location! The staff was incredibly friendly and truly made this a great experience to grab a bite while enjoying the ocean view. I opted for the fish and chips, and it hit just the right spot! Fried to perfection with a perfectly crispy texture. My buddy ordered the fish tacos and quickly polished them off! If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in for a bit. Getting a seat along the edge of the patio will immensely enhance that view, by the way. read more

Decided to dine at Longboards for a little early bird dinner/pau hana. Longboards is by Lagoon 3. We were able to scoop up a parking spot in Lagoon 4 and just walk over, which was much more ideal than forking over $20+tip to valet. Although we got there before the dinner crowd there were a good number of patrons dining and enjoying the live music. Cocktails were standard resort prices. Same for the food. We ordered the Chinese chicken salad and fish and chips. The greens and veggies were good on the salad but could have done without the chicken breast. It was rather dry and bland. The fish and chips was a huge order of battered white fish and massive pile of crinkle cut fries. There was a good amount of tartar sauce and ketchup that we didn't need to ask for extra. Overall, I'd say the beachfront views and laidback vibes are really what you come here for. read more

Ordered the fish tacos - Mahi. Tiny sliver of fish for the giant tortilla. And too much oil on the cabbage. Tasted okay. Side fries was a whopping $10. At least it was cooked well. Hubs got the kalua pig nachos. Choke chips, but not enough toppings. And they forgot to add the jalapenos. Worst part were the birds. They were so aggressive and ended up on the table grabbing food when I went to the restroom and the hubs tended to the baby. No discount/accommodations made for that. Little disappointing. read more

September 26, 2024 - Came in for dinner and caught the sunset too. We were promptly greeted and offered a choice of tables. Our server, Steph / Stephanie S., explained the pasta night offerings and checked with the kitchen staff to insure a choice was made without bell peppers. As the dining experience progressed we throughly enjoyed her smile. The pasta was tasty and filling (leftovers) and the meatballs were tender. The chicken huli huli was flavorful and so tender it could be eaten without teeth. Kelley O'Sullivan asked how everything was and we enjoyed a conversation and some laughs too. We are staying @ the Marriott Ko Olina and saw many people lining up to order so we figured we would give it a try. We saw the pork nachos at another table so we figured we would try. They were ok. I can't understand why they used the velveta type processed cheese instead of real cheese. They didn't have much flavor. We also had the Mediterranean bowl. It looked tasty but the salad dressing was off. It was too sweet. We finished off the meal with the mud pie. Once again, it was coffee ice cream and fudge. The flavor was off. Despite the issues with the food, the singer was great. The views and his entertainment was fabulous!! If you are hungry and staying at the Marriott, I would come here. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. If you are looking for great Hawaiian music and a great view, this is the place to come! read more

Great early lunch today at Longboards. Several fish sandwiches, a salad or two, a couple of Beef Stew, chicken strips, coconut shrimp, and a quesadilla entree. Great view of the bracket lagoon while dining and all the food was great, especially the ahi fish sandwiches. We took my in-laws out to dinner for their 50th wedding anniversary. I was hoping we could catch the sunset, but it was too cloudy that night. We were sat outdoors under an umbrella in case of rain. Our order consisted of calamari, tuna melt with fries, chicken katsu curry, and two smash burgers. Kalani was our server--fantastic service! We asked about dairy in the curry, and Kalani double checked other items for us without us needing to ask. Overall, wonderful atmosphere and great staff; okay food. The ambiance is great, with a relaxed atmosphere and views of the ocean. The downside is the "Happy Hour" which only lasts for 1 hour and applies only to drinks, not food. Also, the drinks are weak. Despite these issues, I still had a great time because I was on vacation! read more

Nice happy hour, overlooking the lagoon, daily 3-5 pm and 8-9 pm; $3 off draft beer and Tropicals, and live music, usually a local guitarist playing Hawaiian music and/or some Trop Rock. My hubby had the Castaway IPA from Kona Brewing Company (normally $11; just $8 on happy hour), and really liked it. I had the Longboatd Sunset, made less sweet, with less watermelon (normally $16.50; $13.50 on happy hour). Pretty good. But next time, think I'll go for the happy hour mai tai, or their famous frozen mai tai (bit on happy hour). read more

We just have to give a shout out to Geri, our hostess, and Marilou, our server. My husband and I just decided to "play tourist" today and head down to Lagoon 4 for a little bit of R&R. We got thirsty and went to Longboards for lunch and drinks. Geri and Marilou are the embodiment of the aloha spirit. So much fun! And the drinks and food were great too. We had the top shelf margarita with a li hing mui rim and some fish and chips. Whenever we want a break from the daily grind, we will head back down to Ko Olina and stop at Longboards. Service is quick poolside but when dining in it is slower only because it's busy. The drinks are great poolside but depending on the bartender not the sane. They do have the best view when eating there and live music in the evening Pulled pork nachos ate so tasty Cajun shrimp tacos were delicious. TL;DR: fast service and great fries! I ordered ToGo. Super fast service and got the meal within 10 minutes. Fish and Chips: the fish was nicely cooked compared to other places -- it was not too dry or soggy like a deep fried wet sock. The breading could have been better in my opinion. Though the breading was crunchy and browned nicely, it didn't add much texture or flavor. I ended up drenching the fish in tartar sauce like it was a sacrifice to be given to my tastebuds. The tartar sauce is just your regular average Joe sauce; nothing to write home about. The fries were great! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Lightly salted too, so great with our without condiments. Overall very filling for an appetizer -- I'm glad I ate it as an entree and didn't order anything else. I didn't order these but they were visually appealing: Coconut Shrimp (was butterfly cut) and Ahi Poke. We also dined at the restaurant too the next day. Seating is outdoors only. It's a bit of a problem because it is always windy, so our napkins kept flying away if not held onto and the plastic drink cups would blow and roll away once empty. read more

This is a really nice resort, but parking is an issue if you are not a guest. Each of the Lagoons in Ko 'Olina does have "FREE" parking, but it is limited and there are often long lines to get in. (from early morning to closing around 7) The Ko 'Olina Harbor has pay parking for $17 ($15 plus a $2 fee), and is a scenic 10 minute walk to past the lagoons to Longboards Grill. The parking makes it hard to justify as a place to meet. However, combine with a day at the beach and it's perfect to gather for a cool drink and a snack. We enjoyed the Ahi Poke Nachos, but agreed it was a bit too heavy on the Eel Sauce and Mayonaise. We came here after getting off the plane w waiting for our room to be ready, too bad they don't have the same salad they had last year, so we got the poke bowl and Kalua pig nachos. They deliver to your cabana which is nice. The drink prices are a bit high for the size but you're paying for the convenience and location. read more
