I love this place! I have had their shrimp, steak, and tofu and have enjoyed all of them! Their wraps are ginormous and I usually take half home. The spicy eggplant is incredible. It becomes so soft that it nearly melts in your mouth. It's a very casual spot with friendly laid-back service.
Tried Lona's Lil Eats for the first time...amazing!!! We went on a Friday afternoon, there was alone when we got there but they move the line very quickly! You order at the counter then go find a seat to wait for your food...it comes out super fast and the taste is fantastic!!! We had the spring rolls and a stir fry w/noodles...so good! And if you want beer or cider, you are in luck!!! We will be going back this week!!!
We've been back here since this review, but wow! Blown away by Lonas Little eats, I can definitely see why it is so busy. Atmosphere was popping!! Nestled in a little neighborhood, Lona Little Eats offers fresh asian-american food that I was made aware of through social media reviews and raves. I was particualrly interested in the giant spring roll like wraps that they had with rice paper, 10 out of 10 excellent I want all of them. The spring rolls are also to die for, I could eat them every day. We ordered take out yesterday with the spicy peanut noodle salad, the Five star platter with all the proteins, and the Lona-Q sauce - WOW. Love love love this place, wish it was closer, not closed on Mondays and Tuesdays haha! So good, definitely go check it out.

I'm always impressed by Lonas. This time I got steak bowl with Lona Q sauce. The cabbage was excellent today and cooked so well. I was a little thrown off by the cold steak, i was expecting it to be warm but it still tasted good! My all time favorite thing is their pineapple cookies. I want that recipe!
I've been to Lona's before, I love the wraps and plates. Today I tried the beef soup and chicken spring rolls. The order taker was kind and attentive. Restaurant was clean and love the eclectic environment with all the pictures and awards posted. Will most definitely be back and I highly recommend.
I got the spicy tofu wrap with a side of vegan fried rice and the veggie spring rolls! I really liked that they had quality vegetarian and vegan options and all of the food was really flavorful! I think the standout for me was the peanut sauce that came with the veggie spring rolls! The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly when I went to pick up my food!
Had no idea what I was craving on a saturday evening. Enter Lona's lil eats--my Savior. I was feeling something that would be both sweet and spicy, this delivered big time. This quaint little eatery is serving up some insane bites for all who enter. Perfect for a casual date night, take out. The mushroom dumplings were amazing. Packed with umami, and then boom! More umami! So delicious. The spicy sauce was great as well. The brisket wrap in the rice paper was so good. A bit smoky, good crunch from the greens. What tied everything together was that vinaigrette. A bit acidic, a bit spicy, and the perfect companion to the fatty brisket. I loved the rice paper wraps. Super light, but a great texture. Cannot wait to get back, i have heard rumors their peanut sauce is to die for. Well, i am willing to die for it!
I totally see what the hype is all about! The giant rice paper wraps are amazing, especially for people who might be on a gluten free diet or a low carb diet. It's not exactly the most fanciest of places, but they have plenty of seating inside and outside, and the countertop service is really quick and easy. They don't accept cash, so make sure you come prepared. The neighborhood doesn't seem that nice, but be vigilant, especially in the dark, and you'll be fine. There's plenty of free street parking, which is a plus!
I'm a sucker for some spring rolls. This is a spring roll lovers heaven! We got two order of the (3) spring rolls - chicken and steak. Both super yummy and bite size. Perfect appetizer. I wish I got one of the wraps. They are HUGE and look sooooo good. Next time! My daughter got the kids meal with chicken and stir fry glass noodles. They did have a kick to them. I would say it's spicy for a kids dish. But if your kid likes spice I'm sure they would love it! I ended up eating her noodles and they were DELICIOUS. I got her a side of rice because it was a 50/50 whether she would eat the noodles haha. She loved the rice and chicken. The shop was busy. We went around 1:30pm. Good line and pretty good wait. The kitchen as backed up. I wish they were on door dash for quick pick up. They do offer online ordering through their own sight tho if that is something you want. Service was good and everyone was friendly. The staff were constantly bringing out dishes and busing tables. For as busy as they are, they are quick with service. 10/10 I will be back and I will be getting one of those big wraps! I also saw they have hot tea by the pot! If we weren't getting it to go, I would of got one
Lona's is amazing! The wraps are huge & straight up delicious. I had the big Thai and it had so much flavor all in one wrap - absolutely incredible! I think it would be easier to eat without the greens but they're a great addition to the overall taste. I enjoyed the spicy cucumber salad as my side but the person I was with had glass noodles and those were out of this world. The entire restaurant is so cozy and everyone there seemed so genuinely kind! I cannot wait to go back!
This is the kinda place I could eat EVERYDAY . The kale mushroom dumplings were so delicious. Service was wonderful. They have several rooms to dine in or dine outdoors . A rather vibey hipster type eatery. Loved everything .

#Thankyouthursday shout out to Lona's Lil Eats for creating such an efficient curbside pick up experience! It is on the same high level as the food you offer and I appreciate that! You place your order online and will receive a receipt number. When you arrive they have at least 20 numbered spots along the street. Park call your receipt number and parking space number upon arrival and they delivery the food quickly! No double parking, no wondering if they'll deliver the food to the correct car... Food was excellent! Hot, tasty, fresh and healthy. Created my own wrap and ordered the steak potstickers. Delicious! I also ordered a side of hot hot sauce...ok it's beyond hot, this would be for a person who would participate in one of those ghost chili pepper eating contest, not for a person who just likes ordinary hot food. I will definitely return! read more
5 stars all around for the food and seamless curbside pickup. Just place your order, arrive and park in a marked spot, call in and inform them which number you are parked at. They will bring out the order within a few mins. Must try dishes: - the spicy tofu wrap with melt in your mouth tofu, satisfyingly chewy rice paper wrap, and a ton of salad greens and fried rice - the spicy eggplant side, this is super delicious and flavorful - crispy steak potstickers - create your own plate with tender shrimp, veggies and stir fried glass noodles The lona Q sauce is super sweet and the sauce that comes with the potstickers is quite sour so I wasn't a huge fan. Also the stir fried veggie side is just Bok choy, and the steak looked a bit dry so I would stick to the shrimp and tofu. Brisket is on my list for next time. read more
100 percent yes. This place is so yummy. Get a burrito with rice paper (great gluten free options). And some very yummy sides. The owner is super nice too! This has a very cute little out door patio too. Head here on a nice night and sit in the patio and enjoy some delicious food! read more
Curb side pickup done well. This place is handling the pandemic crisis efficiently.. There are numbered spots to park your car and they bring the food to you. This was on my list ever since the chef got the James Beard award. Very well deserving of the honor, I must say! The tofu wrap was so flavorful and delicious. Rest of the family got stir shrimp bowl with glass noodles which was amazing, Steak bowl was just ok ( steak looked a little dry) ; but the crispy and yummy potstickers and accompanying sauces made up for it. Best part of the meal was spicy eggplant side dish. Don't skip it- you will thank me later.... Will be back soon. read more

It was 2024. A warm February. My friends and I were in St. Louis for a night, on our way from Ohio to Kansas City for a writers conference. Two of us are vegetarians, one is gluten free, the three of us are food enjoyers and looking for amazing food. Isaiah found Lona's and we walked there from our airbnb. The atmosphere is lovely and while I was sure the shrimp pesto noodles would be my order, I changed my mind as soon as I saw the rice paper wrap. I threw my plans to the wind and jumped on that wrap, ordering the Big Thai. Reader, it was the right decision. Somewhere, Taylor Swift might've been planning on running for office and announcing it during the Super Bowl or something. But me? I was eating amazing food with my friends. Isaiah ordered the veggie sampler, Kurt another veggie wrap. We also got the mushroom dumplings. We were intrigued by the awards on the walls and pulled up the article titled "The Tenacity of Lona Lou" which was so inspiring. Our server, Foster, clocked Kurt's "poems" hat and started speaking poetry. By the end of the night, we'd each (Foster included) written 2 haikus. Super cool neighborhood shop. Really great vegetarian options if you're into that. I'm more into meat- just saw Top Gun too- so I went with more of a chicken steak lunch. Outcome will still be the same regardless- you'll waddle away feeling Top Gun stuffed. Food comes fast Good outside dinning Staff are friendly End of list. read more

We stopped by Lona's for lunch today and it was excellent, as always. Everything I've vet tried on their menu is wonderful. Their dumplings are our favorite. We love the both the beef and the mushroom dumplings. The employees are always so nice and they're one of the best parts every time we stop by. The whole place is cute and we love sitting on the patio when the weather is nice. I always love seeing the progress of their plants in the window between visits. Their brisket is my husband's very favorite, above any bbq place he's ever been to. The vinaigrette is definitely my favorite sauce and I always buy a few extra sides of it to take home! read more

Everyone had been telling me to go here so I thought it was going to be great. It wasn't great. It was good. When I got there they had sold out of everything including the large rice paper wraps and the noodles. Yay. They offered to make mine with glass noodles which were all chopped up and then heated. I didn't like it. Everyone was very nice though. read more
One of my favorite lunch spots. There's always something new to try! I always make my own huge spring roll (seriously you've never seen a spring roll this big) and it is always so tasty no matter what the combination. My favorite sides are the spicy eggplant and spicy cucumber salad they are so delicious I could just eat them by themselves. The inside is very cute and on a nice summer day the outdoor seating is perfect! This place is perfect if you're in a rush even when it is packed they get your food out quickly. My suggestion is if you're in the area stop by and make your own giant spring roll! read more
Food: 5 Stars Service: 5 Stars This is some of the best Asian comfort food you'll ever have and I also promise you that you won't find the same flavors anywhere else! The menu can be a little confusing, but whatever ends up on your tray will leave you wanting more. Their proteins are marinated in earthy sauces and layered on top of smokey and tangy vegetables. The combination of flavors are complex but not overwhelming. Be prepared for big portions and an unforgettable meal. :] read more
A delicious take on Asian fusion cuisine. Lonas Lil Eats, located in Fox Park serves up delicious and fresh food. Both the food and drink options here are phenomenal. Great meat and plant based options. The portions are well worth the price, and the quality is extremely fresh. The create your own menu allows you to create a meal that you will surely enjoy. Great spot that filled my Asian food craving! Ample street parking and outdoor seating available as well. We ordered the Sampler (highly recommend) with the spicy eggplants, which was the best thing on the menu. I love the sesame peanut sauce the best, but all the sauces are pretty great! The spicy cucumber salad is also delicious. The Lona Q was honestly pretty meh and wouldn't recommend. read more

With the weather melting away into spring, I have been venturing out more for to-go meals. Cabin fever led me to Lona's Lil Eats in Fox Park recently. And with each bite, I'm constantly reminded that their food is unparalleled in our city. I invited a former coworker over to enjoy a lunch on my deck to catch some vitamin D during the workday. We placed a to-go order together and I picked it up as he drove to my place from his Downtown St. Louis office. The ordering process was a breeze. (It also helps that we both have perfected our Lona's orders over the years!) When I got to Lona's, there were numbered parking spots for curbside pickup. All you had to do to get your meal was give them a call with your ticket number and the space you were parked in. In the blink of an eye, a masked employee wearing gloves came out with my food and placed it in the passenger side window. I felt totally safe with the process. On to the food. WowowowowowowowoW! The food at Lona's is beyond description. I cannot gush over it enough. Each time I eat at Lona's, here's my go -to order: - Build your own plate - Smoked Turkey - Spicy Sesame - Stir fry glass noodles - Side of spicy eggplant Then the key is, put it all in a big pile, mix it together and scarf it down. Be warned it can be quite spicy! But I love that. The textures of the meal are part of what make the dish even better. The shredded turkey falls apart as you pick it up with your pick it up with your fork. The glass noodles are like festive flavor-confetti in your mouth. And each eggplant spear is like a delicious steak-cut fry. Absolutely love this meal. If you have a big appetite, don't shy away from the dumplings. The mushroom flavor is the best way to start off any meal. read more
Quality: 5 Stars Fresh ingredients and flavors make this place one of my favorite small spots in STL! This spot is unique because it is the only place around that serves rice paper wraps (don't judge till you've tried it!) Quantity: 5 Stars I'm basing this review on a custom rice paper wrap. They give you enough to make a grown man full. It also comes with a side dish. Price: 4 Stars There's so much good here that the only thing I could say negative is the price. It might be too expensive to eat here all the time but it isn't unreasonable. You won't regret the money spent. Overall: Definitely an incredible find. The best advice for ordering is to make sure you get the rice paper wrap and glass noodles inside the wrap. For sides, go for the eggplant or cucumber salad. I was headed to St. Louis for a business trip and happened to see that the chef of a restaurant I was considering visiting was a James Beard semi-finalist! Needless to say, I had to visit and try Lona's for myself. I am happy to report that, not only was I impressed, I was blown away! Lona's is located in the south side of StL. If you don't know what you're looking for you could drive right past it. My visit was on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30pm. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. The interior and decor are very simple, yet modern with a very clean aesthetic. When you arrive you can walk directly toward the stand to order. The person who took my order was quite helpful! He took time to explain the entire menu to myself and my entire party in a very enthusiastic and honest way, even being sure to describe the various heat levels of each spicy option. Lona's is known for their signature Giant Rice Paper Wraps, its like Vietnamese spring rolls that are huge like a chipotle burrito. My friends each ordered one of those. I was in the mood for something lighter and ordered the brisket salad. Each entree comes with a side which was a very pleasant surprise! I also ordered s glass of wine which was another recommendation. My friend ordered the potstickers, three with mushroom and three with steak. My group could not leave without trying the pineapple coconut cookie! The server gave my group an order number to place on the table. With all of the food ordered my group went to find a table. The food was delivered VERY quickly! I was immediately impressed with the portion size of each dish. Each person at my table was immediately impressed with the flavor of the food. My brisket was very good and the smoked vinaigrette, that I was not originally going to try, was so subtle yet had great depth and was the perfect pairing to the brisket and wine. For my side I ordered the ginger peanut lime salad, a cabbage based salad, with a fantastic sauce. The potstickers are made to order. They were delicious and the accompanying sauce was very good as well. The cookie was so simple and complex at the same time; one flavor didn't overpower the others. Overall, the service was fantastic! All of the employees seemed happy and were working as a very efficient team. The food was fantastic! I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu; more than that, the sauces are very well made and complex. I highly recommend this 'lil' jewel of St. Louis! read more

We got the mushroom dumplings and two Create Your Own burritos. Both were amazing. I think I got the Big Thai Wrap the first time I ate here; that was also tasty. I was impressed how good the smoked turkey was! My sauce had a nice kick to it. It's a hefty burrito; I couldn't finish mine in one sitting. I love the unique fusion aspect of this place. Heard great things about this place and finally made it for dinner. Really cool Concept where you can get get whatever mix you want in a rice paper wrap (essentially making it like a delicious summer roll burrito), tortilla, or as a plate. My husband and I got 2 rice paper wraps-the preset Thai chicken and custom made a spicy tofu wrap with glass noodles and spicy sesame sauce. Both had delicious flavors and a good amount of protein inside. I preferred the Thai chicken wrap only because my spicy tofu wrap fell apart, which is the reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. However the Thai chicken wrap my husband got stayed intact and could truly eat it like a burrito. I still recommend the tofu because the flavors were excellent! All come with a choice of a side and we both opted for the spicy eggplant which I highly recommend! read more

Flavor gods have arrived in the form of Lona's Lil Eats! My favorite Asian Fusion restaurant & selfishly I don't want them to add another location in fear it won't be as amazingly awesome as it remains as a high demand, high quality delicious neighborhood eatery. Staff is friendly, like family (literally) always greeting regulars by name and knowing exactly what we order :) Food always superb & prompt. Dining available both indoors & out. Dumplings were as BOMB as they say! The wraps were absolutely huge! See the photos for the wrap-to-head ratio. They definitely were extremely messy, because they fell apart once you start munching but they are so worth it. I got the Big Thai Chicken Wrap which was a good amount of tangy, and my sister got the Spicy Tofu Wrap, which had an excellent peanut sauce. TLDR: the giant wraps are definitely worth it!! read more
My friend and I are huge fans of whole fish & when we saw it in the menu we had to order. It was expertly prepared with its salty crispy skin and succulent meat, filled with a spinach type filling that was tasty. The sides ordered were slaw and jasmine rice and they were fantastic. The dumplings with its spicy chili sauce were juicy and tasty. We also had the whisky drink ... watch out ... she is a sweet siren that can sneak up on you :) The food was fresh and wonderfully seasoned, I can see why this place has a James Beard Award! read more
The food was amazing. But, if it says spicy--it is SPICY, so keep that in mind. I love spicy food but my friend didn't enjoy some of our dishes as much because they were too hot. The person taking our order was very helpful and gave us great recommendations. The patio was very cute and there were beautiful flowers around. The inside was cute as well with bright colors. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The chef helped my dairy free roommate pick things she could have without any doubt. He knew all of the ingredients-because there wasn't a bunch of junk! :) read more
Wow Lona's Little Eats! Was around the area during Mardi Gras and got to eat here afterwards; holy cow this place was great. We got the seasonal hill noodle soup with beef brisket, the steak dumplings, the thai burrito and the eggplant. Wow this place was great! My favorite was definitely the seasonal hill soup with beef brisket. Great flavor, not too salty, a little kick, with a perfectly tender beef brisket; great balance of rice noodles and vegetables; probably one of my favorite noodle soups in the area. Chicken thai burrito was great! Good flavoring as well, chicken wasn't over cooked, great taste, not too over powering. Dumplings were great too, pan fried on the bottom to perfection, crisp but not overdone. read more

We had been yearning to try Lona's as it looked so eclectic and tasty. And it was! We were kindly greeted by the kind gentleman working the register and he explained the concept to us. We ordered the mushroom and beef potstickers to start. Not too bad, but I have had better potstickers. I probably wouldn't order them again, as I just don't think I'm a big fan of potstickers in general. For the main, we decided to try the 5-protein plate. It came with chicken, beef, turkey, tofu and two small shrimps. I thought the turkey was the best - clearly the best flavored meat. I didn't find the other proteins to be overwhelmingly excellent, but they were tasty. A bit on the cold side, and I'm not sure if that was by design or because the stuff wasn't fresh. The fried rice was pretty good - nice and hot, and went well with the proteins. The glass noodles were underwhelming, flavor-wise. I would not order them again. They were kind enough to let us try all the sauces and I really liked all of them except for the pesto one. The soda selection was great, too. The slaw was also fantastic! I'd probably go back and just get the 5 protein plate with salad and rice. Great service and overheard some awesome conversation at the table next to ours. read more

Ok so this is my first time eating at what I had hoped to be awesome ty food. I had ordered grilled chicken with stir fry glass noodles. Stir fry veggies. It was disappointing to get the most dehydrated grilled chicken . Also the bowel itself for the price would had been fine except it seem to be previously prepared food takin out of the fridge and warmed up like leftovers from the day before. Well you live and learn. Not my cup of tea. I can bring lunch from home and be better than what this was. Taste no better than the dry chicken I choked down. Has potential but not there. read more
Lona, Lona, Lona. Try something different and check this place out. Not as "earthy" as anticipated. Among other things, they offer Brisket, Chicken, Shrimp, and Steak. Cool atmosphere and sleek layout, placed nicely on the corner. APP game strong: Dumplings (mushroom-stuffed) tasted wicked; Sesame-infused sauce facilitates a prime dipping reservoir. Wraps taste even better, enclosed with rice paper. Revolutionary, its edibility almost questionable. Smoky Chicken all day! Love the rice paper membrane: less filling, more content vs. standard flour tortilla. ***Down-to-Earth place, literally. Simple and organic feel with your meal. Local beers available @ the mini-bar, which also features a large punch bowl of an unknown beverage...next time. Take your friends and family and experience the Lona way!*** read more
