Quaint little Thai spot located at the corner of Euclid and Maryland in the CWE. Have walked here several times for lunch. Seating is limited, offering options for both indoor and outdoor. They are quick and fast, friendly and reasonably priced. I expected more from than place with all the rave reviews but it's more generic Asian cuisine than heart and soul cuisine. There food is visually appealing but lacking something extra in the flavor profile. I can't quite put my hands on it. I've tried their fried rice and it was nothing special, actually it was not good at all, gummy, tasted more like white rice with soy sauce and limited msg amongst things. If you love spicy then you can definitely come here. I got the pineapple rice with spice level three and the heat was there! I enjoy spicy, and flavorful dishes so this was exciting. The fried rice was good, but unfortunately there wasn't any pineapple in the fried rice which I was expecting that sweet and spicy flavor. I see myself getting this again either way. My usual spot was closed today and I've been meaning to expand my Thai collection in stl. I ordered the PadSeeU with chicken and it wasn't too bad, the soy sauce was stronger than what I'm used to but I'm satisfied. I also got a Thai iced tea and decided to add boba to it. Very glad I did! The right amount of boba and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. Waiting for my take out order wasn't too long, it wasn't a very busy night (Tuesday). I LOVE Thai food and have tried many different spots across St. Louis, so I must say that Thai 202 was somewhat underwhelming to me. However, I think the menu is pretty reasonably priced, and the portion sizes were plenty big enough for me to have leftovers. I had the Pad See-U with chicken and no egg. It's just awful - as if it can get any worse. This may be my worst Yelp review ever. I was subjected to their food recently not by choice but because we were in the block my husband was hangry and needed something quick. He got the pad Thai. He got me the panang curry. Long story short: both were just awful to the point of inedible - as if they were both dumped with sugar and nothing else. Zero balance, just awful sugary taste. Just don't. Thai 102 was better than I thought it would be! I did an online order for in-person pick-up first, then did a takeout order the second time. The staff is nice. The space is quite small with pretty limited indoor seating, but it's very cozy and homey. Prices are fair. Service is standard. I've tried their Tom Yum with tofu and no mushrooms, their Tom Kha with chicken and no mushrooms, and their Pad Kee Mao with chicken. All dishes were ordered with maximum spice, which I felt was actually the perfect amount to both feel a mild kick while still being able to taste the food just fine. Both soups had a bit more sweetness to it than I was used to, but they were still quite yummy. The Pad Kee Mao probably has my strongest recommendation because of just how flavorful and texturally well-done it was; the sauteed onions, lightly cooked bell peppers that still have some mild crunch to them, perfectly cooked noodles, stringy egg, and jammy tomatoes came together so well. It's also coated in a nice sauce so it wasn't dry like some places make it. Everything was well-sized. I will say that my preference is to do an online order, because the staff doesn't ask which spice level I want in-person. Otherwise, I'm glad to have found a solid comfort food spot. read more

Second time here and today, I came here for lunch. It wasn't busy. Staff was very friendly. They greeted us by bowing, I love it! Veggie spring rolls were fresh, crunchy, umami + more delicious with the red sauce. Pork bun was rich flavorful, I love it! Reliable Thai Flavors For A Speedy/On-The-Go Meal Environment: A smaller restaurant that can sometimes feel a bit cramped considering the amount of traffic coming in and out (lots of to go orders, just like myself), but definitely a home-y, hole in the wall type vibe in the CWE. The staff is super friendly and they're always smiling, a good sign this food is made from the heart! The service is quick, order-to-food time is about 10 minutes at a moderately busy hour. Food: I tried the Basil Fried Rice with Tofu (pictures attached). I've tried the Chicken here as well, and it is good, on par with other Thai restaurants around but not a stand out. The rice here is cooked to perfection, little bit of bite, right amount of chew, and a little bit of crispiness for texture. The flavors are also good, but felt it missed some of the umami/complexity that other restaurants consistently bring-- may have to do with the quickness of the service and now allowing the extra minute to develop the flavors. The vegetables were crisp (maybe a bit too crispy/raw?). Their fried tofu was moderately crisp and at par for tofu at Thai places. If you like spicy foods, this place definitely hits on the spicy game though!! Rating: 3.5/5, a middle tier, reliable Thai spot. Can't put them in the 4 category until those umami flavors really really come through. They produce good food but I think the speed of their service may be a downfall. They have great potential and the extra 1-2 minutes to develop the flavors in the dish could make a world of difference. I've tried a few of their noodle dishes here and am not really a fan (other places do them better). I have tried their curries though, which are STELLAR (can't reflect that in this rating though because I didn't try it this time). I'll be back for some more curry (and an updated review) and also some fried rice if I need a quick meal! Definitely recommend as a lunch spot! read more

Our newest favorite place to eat in St. Louis! My boyfriend and I decided to stop in to eat here after touring Washington University in St. Louis due to its close proximity. When we walked in the ambiance was vibrant and welcoming, perfectly decorated for the holidays. The service was great and very helpful as well. There were many food options, however we decided to settle on the Yellow Chicken Curry and Pork Pad-See-U. We were truly astonished by how delicious both dishes were, especially the Chicken Curry. It was flavorful, the meat was abundant, and the spices were perfectly balanced. We also order Thai Tea which was perfectly sweet. All the menu items felt decently priced. The only small complaint I would have is that I wish the Pad-See-U had a bit more color to them for a caramelization/char. Also, they only give you one bowl of rice alongside the curry, and I wished we were given more because the curry was so scrumptious! I cannot say how much I love this place! I know some may say "not authentic" well, whatever it is I will settle with delicious! I love how they always follow special requests, without hassle or question! My wife doesn't like green bell peppers and without fail will request them to be left off. This is just about the only place that observes her request without error. They actually pay attention to patrons and seek to please! So, the pineapple fried rice is a winner. The cashed chicken is also beyond good. I love how the sauce that accompanies the cashew chicken isn't MSG based but thin and light instead. Stir fried (not deep fried) chicken breast that is cut unnaturally thin! I mention this because the thin cut is an homage to flavor! Chicken breast can be dry and not very flavorful but this cut allows the seasonings to penetrate the chicken and ends up with a flavor bomb in your mouth. Good stuff. I decided to check "express delivery" because we were really hungry but couldn't leave the apartment, and to my surprise, delivery was guaranteed in 30min or less, and it actually arrived in less than 30min during the 6pm hour! I'd even argue the best Asian food in the city.
