We have been fans of Pearl Cafe for years. We usually get takeout but decided to eat in tonight…read more The food was so fresh, full of flavor and piping hot. We started with the Thai butterflies, which are always a hit. Crispy and delicious. My husband ordered the Thai braised chicken and I ordered the Three Flavored Curry. Both were great! I typically order the yellow curry which still might be my favorite, but I loved all of the vegetables, shrimp and chicken in the three flavored curry. The regular spice level has a kick but is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the coconut curry sauce, but if you want more, you can ask for a higher heat level. While we loved eating in the restaurant for optimal freshness of food, be aware that it does get very warm in the building in the summer.

It's far out from the city and not in the main suburb areas either so it's more a drive out and I would expect prices to be less than St. Louis city or proper. Our orders: Drunken noodles with beef 5/5 spice (16.50): it was tasty just small portions Pearl Fried Rice (19.50): I liked how the basil flavor shined through, but again small portion Chicken Satay (13): The meat was good but the peanut sauce was too sweet. We are more partial to Malaysian style peanut sauces though. Next time, I would go for the lunch special (M-F 13.50) + if I'm ever conveniently near the area e.g. to/from airport
