5 star because 6 was not an option. Very skeptical when I arrived as there were more people waiting for carry out than there were eating in. Reading the extensive menu was a thrill and we wanted to try at least 8 things on the menu. Final decision the volcano fish and the crispy basil duck. We shared these after trying the extraordinary spring rolls. The fish was one of the best fish dishes i've had at any Thai restaurant, and I've been to at least 200-300. It was crispy nestled on a bed of lettuce and the sauce was delicious (only wish it was a little thicker so I could get more in each bite). The duck was phenomenal, with double basil, fresh sautéed with the pepper and onions and crispy basil on top of all. and buried under the duck was a surprise of crunchy asparagus. The sauce on this was perfect. I scraped the dish to get every remaining drop of this sauce over the rice (and I usually skip the rice). I live 11 hours away in Virginia, if I lived closer I'd be here weekly. read more

Great ambiance, service and food! Our server was very knowledgeable and had great recs too! I ordered the Pad Kha Pring - new to me, think a "dry" red curry. Slightly saucy, big umami punch with a chilli kick (personal preference). The green beans had the right amount of bite - not at all overcooked! Tong Phoon is one of our favorite Thai restaurants. My wife and I work nearby and it one of the places we eat when we want a nice meal afterwards. The service is quick and friendly and the food is always delicious. Make sure you explain your spice level, as you should with all Thai places. I don't mind a little but my wife doesn't have a tolerance and they are very accommodating. I'd recommend something but I like to mix it up and everything we have had has been excellent. read more

Started out amazing!! Their starter wild rice soup is so delicious and their dumplings were also amazing. My entree tasted great except I had what tasted/crunched like egg shells in my food. Let's start off the positive. I ordered takeout ( That fried rice with chicken) and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was prepared fresh and only had to wait about 10 minutes. Once I got home, the portion was generous, but the flavor was lacking. First time here and my son and I came to grab a late lunch. This is a cozy spot with a relaxed vibe. We shared the chicken rice soup and shrimp pad thai and each got the iced tea. The soup was unexpectedly delicious! The pad thai was solid, but my son said he thought it had a strong peanut flavor. We both really enjoyed the iced tea. Service was excellent with friendly staff. A true gem hidden on the Main Street through Fairview Heights. What a fantastic treat to find for lunch with friends! My order consisted of the Volcano Chicken and Cucumber Salad. Both of these dishes are fabulous and cooked to perfection. I washed the meal down with a Thai Coffee that is similar to how Vietnamese Coffee is made. What a sweet treat as well. This is one of mine and my daughters favorite Thai restaurants! On this particular trip I had the Pineapple Tangerine Chicken and upgraded the side to fried rice. When I came home and realized they made it wrong, I called and that person hung up on me at the middle of the call. I told him to check the camera and he refused. I asked for refund for portion made wrong and he refused. He also blamed me for the one make the wrong order, hence, got the wrong order. Moreover, he also questioned me for not understand him because he assumed that I haven't worked in the restaurant. On a server perspective, customers are always right unless you can prove them wrong, and don't cut in when your customers are speaking. Someone fired this guy please. Period. read more

And the prices are just too high for the quality anymore- $13 for ground chicken and rice soup?? I used to love this soup , it's the best when you don't feel the greatest but it's just not the same . The dry egg noodle bowl flavor was just not good - like it was missing something. Had a very "off" taste . This is the second time it wasn't edible. If I was dining in I would have sent it back but I wasn't going to drive back in bad weather last night . The people are very nice and service inside is usually great but lately my family hasn't enjoyed our food . It's too expensive to throw away and still be hungry. I spent $33 again for very disappointing food. This is not how it used to be. read more

This is the best Thai food in the country. Bold statement, but true. Pang's cooking and recipes are some of the tastiest that our family has ever tried. Our favorites: chicken rice soup (unbelievable), Bangkok Combo, Mongolian BBQ, Dry Egg noodle bowl, drunken noodle, Thai beef sticks, potstickers and delicious crab Rangoon. The sauces for the various meals are handcrafted by Pang, making every meal a pleasure.
