We come here regularly and never a meal that wasn't great. (The spice level does vary a bit so be warned.) I usually get noodles or the seafood medley. Everything is well cooked and tastes fantastic. My spouse has had a bunch of items and has liked them all, especially the red curry. We've tried several appetizers and they have all been delicious. Everything is fresh, hot/cold as appropriate, and arrives reasonably quickly. The dining room is always spotless and the last time we went, they had stopped playing the odd videos of a guy singing on beach! Those are so strange but I kind of missed them. Anyway, the service is fantastic! Everyone is unfailingly kind and attentive. Highly recommend! read more

Love to dine in. Foods so yummy and well seasoned. It's hard to good Thai food in the Midwest (I am new to this area so I don't know all the places). Their curry is good and their drunken noodles was my pregnancy go too. O My only real complaint is our take-out order is always wrong and has been so badly wrong we have decided it's not worth ordering online and it's only a dine in restaurant. read more

Great ambiance, service and food! Our server was very knowledgeable and had great recs too! I ordered the Pad Kha Pring - new to me, think a "dry" red curry. Slightly saucy, big umami punch with a chilli kick (personal preference). The green beans had the right amount of bite - not at all overcooked! The fried tofu was a great app. I mixed sauces on a whim (peanut tamarind * sweet chilli from the fried chicken) and loved every bite! Will dine here again for sure. read more

The service was great and the food was wonderful! They have fairly big portions for the lunch menu and they give you a small bowl of soup. Inside it's pretty even if the outside isn't. read more

I really like this Thai restaurant. The people are nice and friendly, and the food is made fresh to order & SO YUMMY! Portions are decent except for soup if you order for pickup. Somehow the portions are bigger when you dine in. Because of this, I try not to order soup except when I eat in. The curries are my favorite as well as the tom ka gai soup. I love it! read more

This is a favorite of my stepson and granddaughter. The potstickers were good and the cream cheese Rangoons excellent. For entrees, we shared some fried rice and noodles that were also very good. Haven't had Thai food this good in California. read more

A little expensive for the size of the portions but there was nothing we didn't like. We ordered takeout pickup and it was quite busy at 4pm on a Saturday. Food was handed over with a smile. Everything was well packed and highly recommend their curries, duck and wonton soup. Pad Thai needed a little salt. read more

Wow! Missing my Thai grandma in Ohio, so I came here to get some Thai food, hoping it would be as good as hers... they knocked it outta the park!! Thai tea, coconut soup and Laab Gai .... Amazing!! The staff here are super friendly, and will definitely be back!! read more

Tong Phoon is one of our favorite Thai restaurants. My wife and I work nearby and it one of the places we eat when we want a nice meal afterwards. The service is quick and friendly and the food is always delicious. Make sure you explain your spice level, as you should with all Thai places. I don't mind a little but my wife doesn't have a tolerance and they are very accommodating. I'd recommend something but I like to mix it up and everything we have had has been excellent. read more

Tong Phoon Thai Restaurant - Pineapple Tangerine Chicken for the Win! - Thai Near Me - Fairview Heights, Illinois

5 star because 6 was not an option. Very skeptical when I arrived as there were more people waiting for carry out than there were eating in. Reading the extensive menu was a thrill and we wanted to try at least 8 things on the menu. Final decision the volcano fish and the crispy basil duck. We shared these after trying the extraordinary spring rolls. The fish was one of the best fish dishes i've had at any Thai restaurant, and I've been to at least 200-300. It was crispy nestled on a bed of lettuce and the sauce was delicious (only wish it was a little thicker so I could get more in each bite). The duck was phenomenal, with double basil, fresh sautéed with the pepper and onions and crispy basil on top of all. and buried under the duck was a surprise of crunchy asparagus. The sauce on this was perfect. I scraped the dish to get every remaining drop of this sauce over the rice (and I usually skip the rice). I live 11 hours away in Virginia, if I lived closer I'd be here weekly. read more

We had the crispy fish and Spicy duck Both were phenomenal. The Thai iced tea was likewise excellent. Service was professional and gracious. We were eating out on the road for 6 weeks. This was one of two superb dining experiences. read more

You can tell this is a popular spot--people were already coming in by 4 PM, and by 5 PM on a Tuesday, the restaurant was about half full. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and the service was decent. The food was good overall; we especially enjoyed the flavorful papaya salad. The namtok and pad kee mao were moderately good. We'll likely be back to try more dishes! read more

Have ordered takeout and visited for dinner. Really tasty food. I love curry; the hotter the better. Second time I ordered extra hot. Was right amount of heat. Nice place inside with small bar. Server was nice. Prices were fair. Will definitely order from this place again. read more

Food is excellent. Service was quick and restaurant was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend!

We love this place. It's our go-to Thai place in the area. You'll spend a few dollars, but it'll be worth it!

All three of our dishes were great. Service was excellent. Clean, friendly, and delicious. Would return if we pass thru here again.

Started out amazing!! Their starter wild rice soup is so delicious and their dumplings were also amazing. My entree tasted great except I had what tasted/crunched like egg shells in my food. If there hadn't been egg shells all throughout my food, it would've be 5 stars. The only downside truly was the price, certainly an every once in a while pricing. We were one of two people there at any given time on a Sunday lunch outing. So that was nice and quiet! read more

The food was absolutely amazing. Tried four new dishes and each one was really, really good.

I ordered the dry noodle bowl with combo meat--the flavor is wonderful. I like just a little spice and the #1 level hits just right for me. There was quite a bit of meat and plenty broccoli, carrots, and mini corn. The service was fast and efficient. The restaurant was quiet on a Sunday night. I'll definitely return and try more menu items. read more

Let's start off the positive. I ordered takeout ( That fried rice with chicken) and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was prepared fresh and only had to wait about 10 minutes. Once I got home, the portion was generous, but the flavor was lacking. There was heat (I asked for level 2 spiciness), but the dish didn't have the flavor I expected or am used to from other Thai restaurants. For that reason, I would not return. read more

First time here and my son and I came to grab a late lunch. This is a cozy spot with a relaxed vibe. We shared the chicken rice soup and shrimp pad thai and each got the iced tea. The soup was unexpectedly delicious! The pad thai was solid, but my son said he thought it had a strong peanut flavor. We both really enjoyed the iced tea. Service was excellent with friendly staff. We wanted to order the mango sticky rice, but had no room. They also offer separate pricing for cash and card payments. We'll be back to check out more of the menu! read more

This restaurant is really delicious but can get expensive fast. I enjoy the dumplings as an appetizer. The Pad Prik King with the beef at a spice level 3 or 4 is my go to entree. I enjoy sauces and good flavors - that is exactly what you get here! read more

While searching for somewhere new to try, I had seen Tong Phoon had sweet sticky rice with mango on their menu... and they did not disappointment! It was so good! I ordered the spring rolls, drunken noodles, potstickers, and sweet sticky rice with mangos. FANTASTIC Thai Restaurant hidden in a strip mall!!! Plethora of dishes(each better than the next) served in a fashionably simplistic decor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Tom Yum Noodle Soup(NOT to be confused with the Tom Yum Soup!). Bring your friends, your family & definitely your APPETITE!! read more

Amazing authentic Thai food!!! A must try and we are loyal customers now!!! Thank you for being g in this area!!

This is my hang-out place after work and they have the best Thai food in the area. Their coconut soup is bomb, so is their duck roast. The spring and summer rolls are crisp and fresh, and has a lot of vegetables instead of just noodles. read more

A true gem hidden on the Main Street through Fairview Heights. What a fantastic treat to find for lunch with friends! My order consisted of the Volcano Chicken and Cucumber Salad. Both of these dishes are fabulous and cooked to perfection. I washed the meal down with a Thai Coffee that is similar to how Vietnamese Coffee is made. What a sweet treat as well. The location has a clean dining area and the staff are very helpful if you have questions. Don't be afraid to ask. Some of the most lovely people I have meet recently. read more

This is one of mine and my daughters favorite Thai restaurants! On this particular trip I had the Pineapple Tangerine Chicken and upgraded the side to fried rice. Everything I have had here has been perfectly prepared, and the fried rice is top notch. This dish is awesome if you are looking for something both sweet and savory. The staff is always friendly. You can tell they pride themselves in making sure customers are satisfied. 10/10 will be back again! read more

Have not eaten here in several months. Just had the Thai fried rice with chicken. Tasteless. I think the chicken was freezer burnt. very Nice folks that work there, but food quality is bad. Used to be very good. read more

Let me start with this - tong phoon used to be 4-5 stars for me. But lately our food to go has been not good. And the prices are just too high for the quality anymore- $13 for ground chicken and rice soup?? I used to love this soup , it's the best when you don't feel the greatest but it's just not the same . The dry egg noodle bowl flavor was just not good - like it was missing something. Had a very "off" taste . This is the second time it wasn't edible. If I was dining in I would have sent it back but I wasn't going to drive back in bad weather last night . The people are very nice and service inside is usually great but lately my family hasn't enjoyed our food . It's too expensive to throw away and still be hungry. I spent $33 again for very disappointing food. This is not how it used to be. read more

Had a great experience on a Sunday afternoon with a group of friends. No problem getting a table for seven and service was great. All the food we ordered was really great and tasted fresh. The menus may not have been accurate on pricing, but that could have been because of recent changes. Food came out hot and fast; big portions too! Nothing that really stuck out, just a great spot for some delicious Thai. Will definitely come back for more. read more

This is the best Thai food in the country. Bold statement, but true. Pang's cooking and recipes are some of the tastiest that our family has ever tried. Our favorites: chicken rice soup (unbelievable), Bangkok Combo, Mongolian BBQ, Dry Egg noodle bowl, drunken noodle, Thai beef sticks, potstickers and delicious crab Rangoon. The sauces for the various meals are handcrafted by Pang, making every meal a pleasure.
