    Crazy Tuna

I am so pleasantly surprised by this place. I've passed by multiple times and thought it was weird that they would serve both sushi and Thai food. Being from Okinawa, sushi is a staple in my world. I was shocked to find the ahi (tuna) very fresh and vibrantly red colored. The salmon on the other hand was on the verge of going bad in about 2-3 days. I recommend sushi that has ahi for the quality. The rice was dense and tacky which is not how sushi rice is supposed to be. But overall I would say this place and Sushi Tatsu in Fairview Heights is close if I'm just needing to satisfy my sushi fix close-by. I realize that I will not get true sushi unless I'm on the coast or back home but this place has a thumbs up from me. It helps that the owners are super nice; no complaints on service.

Best sushi place in Belleville/surrounding areas and one of my favorite restaurants in town at that. We always come for lunch (buy 2 rolls, get 3rd free), and the sushi is always extremely fresh and delicious. Spicy tuna roll and spicy crab are my favorite, although everything I've tried is good. Their pineapple fried rice is also to die for. The owners (chef/server) are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Even when they're extremely busy, you will be in and out within 30 minutes with a gracious "thank you" from the chef. Ps. It's so good that I actually hate Sundays because they are closed.

Sashimi for 1, notice the pepper flakes....spicy yeah!!!

Went in for a quick lunch on Halloween day and had the sashimi for 1, the fish was fresh and tasted great. The meal came with miso soup and I ordered a bowl of rice on the side. I asked for some pepper flakes for my rice and what I got kicked the sh.t out of the usual stuff in a shaker. The pieces could have been larger but were cut thick. Will be back.

From left: spicy salmon, salmon, tuna, crunchy tuna.

I have to admit, my partner and I have been driving past this restaurant for months now, wondering, "What the hell is a Sushi Thai?" We have company visiting this week, however, and we decided we'd go ahead and give it a try. And god, am I glad I did. I can't even remotely begin to understand what some of the other reviewers here have found to complain about. The sushi is very reasonably priced, and three for two is not a bad deal at all. We were given very generous portions of the sauce served atop the spicy salmon and crunchy tuna, which all three of us were impressed by. Typically, any sauces or dressings on sushi are sparing at best, but Sushi Thai gave us plenty of extra to dip the other rolls, as well. Speaking of the crunchy tuna, I'm already looking forward to going back there for another helping. I've found my new favorite place to get sushi, as well as my new favorite item to order. I can't wait to try their curry and tempura. Our miso soup was served in large bowls, hot but not scalding, and was practically the Platonic ideal of a good miso soup. I sort of found myself wishing that we'd been given the wider spoons that are often available, but it's hardly a real issue. The presentation was really great, too. The arrangement was so pretty -- with the sushi, ginger, wasabi, and drizzled sauce -- that I couldn't help snapping a photo (which is included in this album, now). Our server (who I think was one of the owners) was very friendly and attentive. We never went for very long without her topping off our glasses of water. The only problems I can see are the lack of parking and the lack of dining space, but this is something that would affect any small restaurant along 159. Our experience was quiet, peaceful, and both filling and tasty. Previously, Wasabi in Edwardsville was my favorite place to go, but I'm excited to have a fantastic sushi location that's a few minutes from my house instead of forty-five. I'm excited to eat there again.

Great sushi. The pad thai is no bueno. The place is just a window off the sidewalk. There's no indoor dining.

Great pad Thai. Also delicious spring rolls that are deep fried and have a savory dipping sauce.

The veggies still had a little crunch to them which is great. I asked for level 4 spice and boy ol' boy, my sinuses are now clear! I ordered chicken and added shrimp. I feel like I received a good amount of meat. My only complaint is my rice was very mushy and I'm sure it's because of the plastic container and drive time. I will stir fry the leftovers. Nice quantity of food for the price.

Finally had a chance to get some takeout. Everyone I was in contact with was super nice. But this "meal" was $45. I ordered 2 things for pick up and spent that much money. Don't get me wrong there are places I'd go back to for that amount but they were blow my mind amazing meals (even as takeout). These were, okay. Typical Thai takeout, nothing to say it was "the best". So while the food was good it was not $20 per item good. There Chili paste was pretty generic as well, definitely not homemade. So if you're looking for regular Thai food, and don't care about price, this place will help a craving but not worth going out of your way for.

They had some very nice pieces of Asian Art all throughout the place. The food was great. The presentation was exceptional. The soup was delicious. The spring rolls were delicious. The heavenly beef was very good. It was some type of beef jerky. The pad Thai rice was good with just enough spice. I asked for a 2 for the spice level. The customer service was great. Our server did a great job. I believe they said he was the owner. He checked on us often. He offered suggestions. He kept our drinks full. He was very personable. Additionally he had a wonderful since if humor. I left very impressed and full. Everything was reasonably priced. There is parking in front. The one area in which they need some improvements was the restroom. It needed to be updated to reflect the rest of the restaurant.

Seriously, I drive up and…read moredown Rte 157 and never noticed this little strip center that sits off the road and down in a hollow. It kind of makes it a hidden treasure and I'm glad that I found it. My visit was during a Saturday lunch and I was impressed. I started my meal with Fried Spring Rolls filled with vegetables and served Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. They were a thin crisp shell, that still gave a nice crunch when bitten into. The sauce was a accompaniment. For an entree I chose, Drunken Noodles and added Beef for my protein. I was torn between Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodle and when I asked my server, she said their most popular dish was Drunken Noodles. Then when I went to add my protein it was between chicken and beef. She said beef was her favorite add, so I went with her recommendation. Once my entree arrived to the table I was surprised by its size. It was huge. It was so big, it could have been a meal for two. Guess who had leftovers for lunch the next day. The noodles were flavorful and lots of tender beef and had plenty of veggies. My spice level was 3 out of 5 and I still was sweating along my hairline. Next visit I may have to scale back to a two. The service was attentive and the young lady who was my server, had a bubbly personality. I also had a young man who brought me my order, checked on me and I wasn't even his table. Now that I have found this hidden treasure, I will definitely be back. When: March 7, 2026 Why: Lunch
