We had a really good meal here. My wife and I split a steak hibachi entree, as well as three rolls: Fuji, Red Dragon, and Crazy Tuna. Everything was solid, and the prices were fair. The server was nice enough, though she was incredibly soft spoken, so I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. Nevertheless, that's a minor issue. I'd definitely come back. read more

The language barrier is frustrating. But the food is always on point. The miso soup was cold tho.

Never had anything like that before and I'm 71 years old. It's was awesome tasting and presentation was very beautiful. The service was great and the people who were in their taking care of us were very polite and we got serve served very fast and the food came out very fast and it was hot and very good and we go back and we would recommend this to anybody or to everybody. Thank you. read more

Excellent option in Belleville! We get carry-out fairly often but have enjoyed dining in a time or two. We love the shrimp hibachi- nice sized shrimp (not popcorn shrimp!) nice variety of chunky fresh veggies, both stin a delicious sauce. We love the Angel Hair Roll as well. They are always friendly and seem to truly appreciate our business, which is a bonus. read more

I've eaten take out from here twice and have yet to be disappointed. They even give you a super cute reusable bag. I LOVE it here. First time we had the chicken hibachi, queen roll and seaweed salad. It was all very delicious. The hibachi portions were great and my sushi roll was 10/10. White fish + Mango. I am typically a spicy tuna or even dragon roll type of person but I am so glad I tried something new! The ambiance is low light and pretty casual. The staff is friendly. The second time we ate here we had a southern crab boil with 2 crab + 10 shrimp and another shrimp tray. This was the perfect amount for 2 people. The crab boil was with Cajun seasoning and the shrimp was their mixed of all the options. Both were amazing and worth the price. It's hard to beat. Your favorite foodies will be back! read more

What's good, the miso soup. What's bad, seasoning and flavor. We got a chicken hibachi box and the Alaska and Spicy Crabstick rolls and they were very bland. Even their soy sauce wasn't very great. Also, the yum yum sauce, not very great. Everything except the miso was underwhelming. Not going to be going back unless it's for miso soup... read more

I love getting the take out from here. They have an online door order firm which makes it so easy and you get plenty for your money. I do wish they gave more options for sides as that salad just ain't it boss. But, that chicken and steak with the yum yum sauce will change your attitude for the day. Boom read more

Of the location sushi/hibachi places we've tried we like Hi Tokyo the best. Their delivery is always fast and I've never had a missing item. The food overall is very good! We've only had an issue a single time where there were thick (and a lot of) bell pepper strips in our veggie fried rice (not a listed ingredient). We love the angel hair roll and the clear soup is great! read more

Good food , the crab and shrimp boil was 34.99 well worth the cost and it had nice big crab legs , ten large sized shrimp , red potatoes , egg and sausages . I like spicy so I chose Cajun flavor. There was tons of seasoning and it tastes great ! The other flavors were garlic butter , lemon butter and mix . read more

First visit, was going to get sushi but got this lunch special instead. Crab Rangoon was sweet for my taste, soup was smoky, shrimp was PRE-COOKED, DRY AND LUKEWARM, "fried" rice was certainly not fried, just tossed with a little soy sauce to make it brownish with some scrambled egg thrown in. Hot green tea cost $2.95 and not much flavor. Doubt I'll be back to try the sushi based on the low quality of this lunch. Server was very nice. read more

Sushi is tasty and consistently fresh. Service is excellent as well. It's nice to a sushi place on the East side of Belleville.

I always love the subí here it's so good and the staff is great. My favorite is the pink lady roll and miso soup, but everything I've tried so far has tasted delicious. read more

I came here once by myself then I brought my kiddos and 2 of their friends for a girls' day. Both times the staff hav been very friendly and the restaurant is also very clean. The Gyoza is top notch!! We always get it fried and they do a great job with cooking it and it's filled with a delicious meat mixture. The Crab Rangoon is also good, not the best I've had as I don't like it so sweet but it's not overly sweet like some. The first time I came I got sushi which was good but this time I got miso soup and and Shrimp Teriyaki. I was pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the cooked veggies and shrimp and the sauce was not the gnawing teriyaki blend that too many use. The miso soup is packed with tofu, seaweed, and flavor. We got 2 lunch sushi combos and the goal lived it and it was a great deal for the price as well. They also shared a lunch beef noodle bowl. It was delicious, packed with veggies and meat, and a huge portion. For the price and quality, this is definitely worth a try. read more

Not impressed with this place. Sushi had a terrible color to the salmon. Crab Rangoon was stuffed with a weird tasting mix. Would not recommend this place at all. read more

Great selection, sushi options are awesome. Bentos can be iffy if you choose the shrimp (under seasoned) but not the worst. Fast service.

Came in late on a Sunday night and was greeted by a very nice and attentive server. Cool and modern atmosphere inside was enjoyable. Ordered some gyoza for starters and they were as tasty as you would hope for. I had several sushi rolls and my wife had chicken teriyaki. The sushi was really lovely and very reasonably priced. Presentation was fun and pretty. You should give this place a try if you want good, affordable sushi in the Belleville area. Staying open late is a big bonus for me as I tend to have late dinners. I will definitely come back! read more

Yum! I love this place. The sushi is fresh, made to order, and always yummy. My kids love the gyoza. The staff is kind, and you can tell they appreciate business! My husband recently got a crab boil and it was delish! I typically get a few rolls, as do my boys. The lunch special is great! read more

Great service and amazing food I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Belleville charm

Service was really great. Went in during lunch on a Sunday so it wasn't that busy. I was seated right away and given time to look over the menu. They have lunch specials 7 days a week so I found that to be really nice. I went with the hibachi shrimp lunch meal which came with rice and a bowl of miso. I also ordered the shrimp tempura roll. The wait on food was not long at all, another plus. First came out the miso which was typical miso, not bad, it's hard to mess up miso. It had a great flavor and was not too hot of a temperature. By the time I was done with my miso, my roll came out. The roll was really good. Well put together and the tempura was just right on the shrimp. Next came the main meal, which also comes with a side of ginger sauce and yum yum sauce. The presentation is the first thing I noticed, it was nice and not messy. The rice was a really good flavor and the shrimp and veggies were cooked just right. I'll definitely be visiting here again and I've already recommended it to others. read more

Good service affordable meals dine in and take out options available as well as family friendly.

Ate here many times always great food, service, and atmosphere would have rated a 5, however. Sitting on the long bench today saw a mouse run down the bathroom hallway to the spot where the bench meets th wall closest to the bathrooms, happened too fast for a pic. Quickly left, unfortunate as this was a great place... read more

I love the food here. I always get the hibachi. Good amount, great prices, and the hostess is such a sweetheart! Great sushi as well.

Very good service and food here. Been here a few times now and I believe it warrants a review. Probably one of my fave sushi places here. There isn't much to choose from in Illinois but this is close enough read more

I'm so confused by the good reviews. I was excited based on the reviews here and on Google. No offense but I wonder if some people just don't know what good sushi is if they think this is good. I got the red dragon roll and a spicy tuna as well as some yaki soba. They use that tuna mush instead of actual pieces of tuna which is such a disappointment. I'd rate the sushi a 2/10. The yaki soba wasn't anything to get excited about. It was at least edible. The entire meal felt like a complete waste of money. Lesson learned. read more

My boyfriend saw this new place and wanted to try it out. I was hesitant because the last time he chose a place it was disappointing. This place was not so. We were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant is smaller, but warm and not crowded or tight. We ordered teriyaki salmon, the Fuji roll, volcano roll, and infinity roll (no avacado). The salmon was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. The Fuji roll was good. My boyfriend loved it. The volcano roll was also very good. The infinity roll surprised me a lot. We were hesitant because we had never had sushi with bacon in it. It was surprising. Because I asked for no avocado the chef put salmon on top in stead. That mixed with the tempura shrimp, smokey bacon, and jalapeno created a mix of flavors that went together beautifully. The waitress was also prompt, efficient and very kind. This unknown definitely paid off and has become a favorite. We will definitely be going back again. read more

Lots of food for your money. Excellent potstickers and rice. Fast service. Good food.

Came here at the recommendation of my cousin and was completely thrilled! We frequent sushi all the time but Hi Tokyo happens to be minutes from where we stay. So it's even more awesome to be able to get sushi in a pinch. The rolls were very reasonably priced, they had hibachi and the biggest fried shrimp you have ever seen in your life. It's clean and the atmosphere is pretty sweet. It's not a big restaurant by a long shot but so worth a stop in if you get a chance. The sushi was fresh and it came out quickly. The service was great. We never really had an empty cup. We will definitely be going back. read more
