Ok, just moved to Belleville from O'Fallon and had a craving for Chinese food last night, especially spare ribs. I called 2 places out there, China Quick being one of them and neither had spare ribs at all. But, China Town did. I ordered Pork Lo Mein and Spare Ribs. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Their Lo Mein noodles were wet linguine noodles and hardly any pork at all. The spare ribs were over cooked tiny ribs with bbq sauce on them. I ate a few bites and was disgusted. None of it had any flavor other than cleaning solution. Horrible. Stay far from this place. I'll just Grub-Hub China King from O'Fallon from now on!!!! read more

Ordered from here via GrubHub for delivery. The oder consisted of 2 entrees and an order of pork fried rice. The order arrived with 1 entree only and some steamed rice not ordered! I called the restaurant to see how to remedy the issue. 2 employees, both accused the delivery driver of stealing the missing items. The bag was sealed shut with staples. Further more the bag containing the delivered items was not large enough to hold all item's ordered. I have patronized this establishment for 30+ years, through changeovers and ups and downs. Wow, came here and it's honestly the best Chinese I've had since moving to the Midwest. It's a hole in the wall, so don't expect much for looks as far as going inside to eat. I had takeout, ordered when I walked in. The service was super kind and quick! Only waited about 10 minutes for my food. Ordered honey walnut shrimp (had a little too much batter) but the flavor was totally there! They added broccoli and it added a little something to it! Cooked perfectly, I got a side of house fried rice and it was my absolute favorite thing from there! My husband received orange chicken and the portion was huge, probably enough for both of us to eat a single entree. He also got the house lo mein (where we're from that's considered chow mein) he complained that there was too much "stuff" in it like veggies and meat and not enough noodles. So maybe he'll stick to plain lo mein next time. Everything was extremely flavorful and the meal lasted us 2 days of meals and was just as great re-heated! Don't wait, just order. Not a fan. I don't do bad reviews. I chose this restaurant because of its reviews. The crab Rangoon was crazy garlicky which I was not expecting that. I got the Kung pao with beef. What I got home with is the kung pao chicken either way it was not spicy at all. Very disappointing. My husband got the beef curry again not spicy at all he was disappointed as well. Their eggrolls was probably a three out of five which is pretty good. their rice was good but their fried rice was Really good. All in all we will not go back but we will go back to the Fairview China King on Lincoln Trail. They are Outstanding. read more

The food was delivered with GrubHub. Food was delivered hot, however, the food is so-so. The mushrooms tasted like canned. My food had a lot, to much, of carrots and so the meal tasted like carrots over anything else. I probably won't be ordering from them again. I did, however, enjoyed the wings. read more

Please reference my 8/26/2020 New China review, which should of been posted here. This restaurant has a tendency to give old left over meats to their delivery customers, I know we're having hard times due to the covid 19 pandemic but to stretch a dollar by delivering old dried out pork and basically BBQ rib bones, and I do mean bones, with just enought dried out meat on the bone that you'd think you were chewing on pork jerky. I erroneously reviewed the wrong restaurant on the 26th, it's just that I was so disgusted with the food from my delivery that I didn't pay attention, for that I'm truly sorry as New China is actually one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. China Town on the other hand should be ashamed of the quality of food they send to their delivery customers. I guess they think because we're not there to complain that it's ok to just send us substandard food that most places would of simply trashed, anything to make a buck I guess. Well here is my one star rating and I personally fell it was well deserved, do better China Town, your delivery customers are just as important as your eat-in customers. read more

My family ate here for the second time and it was just as bad as the first. I'm all about second chances so we figured we would give it another try. We specifically asked for white rice with all of our food. Of course we received all fried rice which was extremely salty. Pretty much all the food was salty even the crab wontons. Not one bit of sweetness in the the sesame chicken just salt. 100% will never eat here again. read more

The restaurant itself is decently sized. I ordered garlic chicken and almond chicken. Both of my entrees were ok. Both of the entrees were lacking flavor and the rice was a tad dry. I can say that the crab rangoons were pretty darn good. I enjoyed those. I was pretty happy with their egg drop soup as well. I am new to the area and I plan on trying other Chinese restaurants before I go back to this one(if I do). The person that took my order at the counter was very nice. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The pork egg rolls were the best I've ever had and my wife and my lo mein was great.

Get the General's chicken and load it up with some hot sauce. Then get some of those crispy crab puffs and dunk them in some egg drop soup. That's what I do, and it's real good! This place is cheap but it has gone down in history as one of my favorite restaurants on earth. Good stuff. Good people. Good, cheap food. Consider me a customer for life! read more

The crab rangoon was probably the best I've ever had. The Mongolian beef had a weird texture. It was not good, will not be getting that again. The Gen Tsos chicken was good, pretty standard. Their fried rice was delicious. I'd go back and try other main dishes and get crab rangoon again. read more

I've been eating here since I was a young child. The quality has been unchanged. It's my favorite Chinese restaurant in the entire area. Lunch specials can't be beat- $6-7 with soup, egg roll, and crab rangoon. Their egg drop soup is quite literally the best I've ever had. My favorite menu items are general tso, beef and broccoli, chicken and broccoli, and moo gu guy pan. Service is always quick and great with extremely sweet waitresses. read more

Tried China Town based on yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. Lost a star from decor it is an Older restaurant desperately in need of an interior face lift however about the cleanest Chinese place I've been in. I stuck to basics for my first visit. Crab Rangoon was tasty and the Cashew Chicken delicious and too large for me to finish on my own. I'll be back soon. read more

China Town Restaurant has been our favorite for years. My husband does feel as though the HotnSour soup is a bit different lately though. Some of our favorites are: Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce, General Tso's Shrimp, Special Noodle Soup, Black Pepper Chicken, and their Crab Rangoon. When my grandson isn't feeling well, all he wants to eat is their combination fried rice! Food is hot. Portions are more than adequate. Lightening fast take out. Went in and ordered food to go and got home and opened the chicken wings. The order was supposed to be 6 wings when in actuality there were only 3 wings. They take the drummies off the wings and count them as an additional piece of wing. What a rip off. I will never eat at this establishment again due to them ripping the customer off. Everyone knows what a wing looks like and their wings were incomplete. I don't recommend this restaurant because who knows how else they cheat the customers. read more

Well I have been going to China town for 30 years. Sadly, the food has changed due to new ownership. Prior to about a year ago or slightly more it was the best Chinese in the area hands down. Now, the rice is barely fried, the crab rangoon is half full, they have removed everything from the egg drop soup (chicken, green onions, bamboo shoots, mushrooms) now it is just eggs. The pork fried rice has a sweeter taste to it now, the egg rolls are smaller and a different color which changed the taste. The new owners bought an established business and should not have changed so many menu items. I have continued to patron them despite the changes but I am far too disappointed to continue any longer. Them tying to save money has lost my business. My $150 a month will go to some other restaurant. Oh and I buy for 5 people when I buy and ask for several sauce packs and they do not want to part with the sauce for free. Actually told me I have to pay for sauce packs! read more
