Pretty disappointed. I ordered here to support my local restaurants. I ordered my favorite Kung pow chicken and it came completely wrong. It was supposed to have sautéed chicken, peanuts, and be spicy. The male worker hastily gave me food but it had my name on it so I assumed it was all good. When I got home, it was made with overcooked, deep-fried chicken, no chili pepper, and 6 peanuts ( I counted). Kung pao is a classic Szechuan dish, that is always spicy. This was mild. I seems he just used the chicken that was already cooked, instead of making the order correctly and cooking fresh wok-sautéed chicken with the traditional ingredients. My partner and I love take out and have tried a couple different places in our area. We just happened upon China Hing because we were near by and it was a pleasant surprise. They gave us 4 egg foo young patties while we thought we place a small order (haha). Everything we tried tasted different compared to our normal spot but was absolutely great. We assumed it was due to using better ingredients but I know everyone has different preferences when it comes to their chinese food, especially being from STL. The price is great. The food is always yummy and prepared well. There are gluten-free options, but they aren't marked on the menu. The service is always good. I am done! There have been several mistakes lately. Second to last trip I had to wait 30 minutes beyond the promised time of my lunch because "they have large order." In front of me. I was told the order would be ready by 1230. It wasn't ready until 105. Causing me problems with a virtual meeting. Despite the above problem and against my better judgement we tried them again. My wife sent in the order and asked me to pick it up. I get there and was told by young kid (probably too young to work) that I need to sign the receipt. Since my wife called in the order I assumed she paid for it. It seemed reasonable. The people in there were very short and essentially rushed me out before I realized there were no sauces in the package. I get home and there is no crab Rangoon that was ordered. The 2 St. Paul sandwiches were very greasy. This sandwich is one of the few things that brought me back. The lo mein in in a smaller package, with different noodles. Also the bean sprouts that we ordered were not in there. The egg rolls were good So at 1015pm we get a call that the order wasn't paid for. We paid the full amount over the phone despite the shortages and no sauces. We would happily have come in the next day to pay it. Getting the insistent phone call at our bed time was quite disturbing for essentially their mistake. Finally about 8 months ago we had a Karen delivery driver from there scream at my kid for our family ordering too much (we have 6 people her and frequently additional guests). We usually order chinese 2-4 times a month. Our orders are usually ~$100. We tip $20 on delivery. This was too much I called and spoke to the manager. Each time we've ordered, we must have ordered way too much food for two average people because we always get 4 extra fortune cookies. Amazing, friendly owner. Talk to him nearly every day I'm in Shiloh. Very consistent Chinese fast food. Reasonably priced. Great online ordering and able to customize the order down to removing items from each dish. Couldn't recommend more highly. I've eaten the chicken/broccoli hold the carrots and bamboo shoots, 1/2 portion white rice with extra sauce (all customized from their online ordering), add 6 packets of chili powder, and 2 crab Rangoons nearly every Tuesday and Wednesday for a few years and I'm still not sick of it. I have been ordering delivery from China Hing for at least five years. Every time I order, the food is fresh, hot, and the service is excellent. They provide very fast delivery (within 30 minutes). We have tried other Chinese food delivery options in the area and have decided China Hing is the best option. One star is being generous. From start to finish the employees practically screamed in Chinese in the kitchen. Customer service is terrible. When I say "dine-in" they brought me a bag anyway. They don't even have a soda fountain, just overpriced cans and bottles. The food, in one word "atrocious". If I burned the place down, I wouldn't roast marshmallows over the flames. (I will give them credit, the egg roll WOULD be good, if it wasn't frozen from Costco.) Let's face it, burning the place down would be an improvement. There's a broken down AC unit on top of a rickety wire stand, it feels like it'll fall at any second. The menu board looks like it's from the 1960's. The tables/chairs are new but do not match the decor, which feels 1980's. The place also needs a good cleaning. The place is a mish-mash of bad decisions. HEALTH CODE CONCERN!! I ordered take-out from here tonight, as I have about twice per month for the past 3 years. Every time I order, I spend an average of $50. Tonight, my wife ordered online, and stipulated "no vegetables" in my food. When my food arrived, it had vegetables (not a rare occurence, but not something I get upset about). I called to let them know they made a mistake, and to please correct the error. When the new food arrived, the delivery driver asked for my original order back. I have no idea why a restaurant would ask for food back, except to resell it to other customers, so I called the manager to ask. We had a verbal altercation where he repeatedly stated that was company policy. He could not tell me why it was company policy, and did not apologize for anything. Instead, he accused my wife of lying about specifying "no vegetables". Due to significant health concerns, I am calling the St Clair County health department tomorrow. Came here on our first night in O'Fallon (just moved from TX). Ordered to-go and food came out quickly but was clearly cooked to order. They have a large menu and I'll be excited to try some other things. Good value for the amount of food - my entree easily fed me a big dinner and a big lunch! You can see into the kitchen (something I like). The ambiance is meh - I would probably always stick to take-out. We ordered: Crab Rangoon -- pretty greasy even by crab rangoon standards. If you like the basic fried crispy with creamy good cream cheese then you're set. I think it was like $5 for 8 of them - good value. Sesame Chicken (came w/ fried rice & egg roll) - chicken was pretty good quality though I've had better. Sauce was just as expected w/ this dish. Fried rice had bits of pork in it which I enjoyed. Egg rolls were ok - also greasier than usual and pretty bland. I also got a side of sweet and sour sauce for rangoon dipping. My husband and I tried their food for take out last night for the first time, and we both liked it much better that China king. We ordered the pupu platter because we couldn't decide on an appetizer. The egg rolls were huge and my husband enjoyed them. The crab Rangoon was pretty good. They had lots of filling and were flavorful, but most of the filling was cream cheese with very little crab. I really enjoyed their chicken on the stick. The chicken is prepared char sui style and is a deliciously barbecued treat. My husband had their beef lo mein which, he thought tasted great and the portion size was very filling. I sampled the Mongolian chicken and their tofu (hot bean curd) dishes along with the vegetable fried rice. Both dishes were very satisfying. Both dishes were delivered hot, fresh, and well seasoned. The Mongolian chicken had a lot of onions, but still very good. I really loved the spicy and savory brown sauce that enveloped the tofu though. The vegetable fried was yummy and flavorful without being overly salty. I really enjoyed the generous amount of vegetables in the rice also. We ordered delivery this time, which took close to an hour to get to us ... which wasn't great but I'm sure they were busy. Big fat NOPE! It had a couple dirty tables and such but we figured it was okay. It was hot, bland and mostly celery and overly reheated fried rice. The soda machine which holds the water as well was pretty dirty. And moms bowl of pork chow main served on a bowl of super made three days ago pork fried rice had a piece of rotten meat in it. She couldn't spit it out fast enough and almost puked on the table. The staff was okay but I don't think they fully understood when we told them they need to check their meat for spoilage.
