When we went there after a concert at close to 11:30pm we have been greeted friendly but told that the kitchen had closed. I had to use the restroom so we had a drink there - they do not serve ice tea - one of the drinks I can drink since I do not Like fountain water produced soda - and they do not had any bottles or canned non alcoholic drinks. We checked yelp when we looked for an open restaurant which was saying the "eatery" is opened til 1am - but that only counts towards the open bar. So we left hungry :( read more

LOCAL is a great vibrant place to eat good food and have a good time with your group from work or friends. With fast service and preparation of food, you could even swing in together for lunch on a weekday. The large food selection was a very pleasant surprise and there is a good amount of drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) to choose from to match your meal. As long as you're ok with a place that's a bit louder, this would a pretty epic spot for a lively lunch or a later summer dinner. Steak frites were superb -- probably the best peppercorn sauce I've had in recent memory. Cooked perfectly according to my tastes. This was my second visit here but sad to say my rating has gone down for them from last time. It was our team's first night in the city. We decided to meet here for dinner. The service was not that great. We ordered our food and the server didn't even bother to give us napkins and when we requested they said oh I was on my break. The service industry has definitely progressed as I have never expected such an answer before. Maybe the employees are frustrated due to the lack of enough staff but still if you're in the service industry you have to be thinking about your customers. We stopped in here for dinner after our original venue was unattainable due to Cap Hill parking (if you're from Seattle then you know!)...luckily we were able to find street parking just a few blocks away. We had to joke once seated that in the later hours it must turn in to some type of club because the size and amount of speakers in this joint was absurd...not your typical "just dinner" establishment. This was my first meal when I landed in Seattle last weekend. I have to say, it was an underwhelming welcome meal. The music provided a nice atmosphere, but it was pretty empty for a Saturday. The food itself was a little sad and expensive in all honesty. I ordered this dark beer, that was very delicious, but that was the tastiest thing we received there. My partner ordered a cheeseburger, while I got the fish and chips. The burger was just okay, pretty standard, but nothing to brag about. The fish and chips came with one tiny piece of fish, with underwhelming slaw and fries that were limp and cold. The fish itself had a slightly fishy taste, with soggy batter, served lukewarm at best. The food was extremely overpriced for the quality that we received. The service was just okay. While the restaurant was empty, it seemed like the server didn't give her full attention to everyone. We tried to get her attention a few times as she walked by, she looked in the opposite direction or would look down at her feet so she wouldn't see us trying to flag her down just to get the check. Came on a Thursday after work during an NBA Finals game so was prepared to wait a bit but the 30-minute wait that we were quoted was actually closer to 20 minutes so that was the first win. Upon being seated, service was quick and very attentive despite the restaurant being quite full. It was also quite loud but that was expected. I tried it too and the mix of flavors really was good. For drinks, mom had the Blue Crush and though ice heavy, it was yummy and tasted like a vacation; I had the Spritzing Image, super refreshing for a warm day and bonus points to Local for having zero proof "cocktails" on the menu. Great spot for a chill night out! I came with a friend over the weekend, though we didn't need our reservation as the place wasn't too busy. As the weather was nice, we requested to sit outside on the patio. I ordered That Crispy Chicken Sandwich and fries, and let's just say it was true to its name. The chicken was crispy on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside, and it was flavorful despite not having much spice. The fries were equally crispy and flavorful, and overall complemented the sandwich well. The only reason I knocked off a star is because of the price. Nested in the middle of South Lake Union, this place is a gem. I went here last weekend to grab brunch. We ordered the fried egg enchiladas, which included two fried eggs, black beans, cheddar, tomatillo, cilantro, and feta. The presentation was fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed the zest and crisp of the radishes that came through the enchiladas. The classic eggs benedict was also a solid choice. It came with back bacon and hollandaise, poached eggs, and crispy potatoes. My favorite part about LOCAL Public Eatery was the sense of community. We went there during a Seahawks game, and the team camaraderie along with the fun atmosphere brought us all together. I'm excited to try the happy hour! Looking forward to my return trip. Needed a fast meal and decided to check this place out. The place was packed. Because it was at capacity, it was really noisy. Service was friendly, but a little slow. As I sat, I saw what appeared to be close to a dozen meals ready to be served, but I saw a lot of servers walking slow and not paying attention. I decided on a burger, I'll be honest, there was nothing special about it, It needed more seasoning, more bacon and more cheese. At almost $20, I would have much rather had $5 back in my pocket with a Red Robin burger. Speaking of Red Robin, bottomless fries would have been a great alternative to the child size fry portion these guys were serving. I don't drink, but I find people that do drink, tend not to care what food taste like and that is most likely why people are rating this place at 4 stars. The drinks were both strong and good. She also recommended some appetizers to start off with the tacos and the perogies. Both were excellent. The tacos were delicious and had a good amount of lime on them. And the perogies were devoured in a few second. The combination of the cheese, bacon, and onions is a great mix. For the main course I ate the Diablo burger and added bacon. It came with a side of fries. Both the burger and the fries were good. The burger was not that spicy but it has a little bit of a kick and the fries came out fresh and hot. My wife ordered the steak and fries. The first time she was brought her meal it was cold. It seems to have been sitting for a while. The waitress took it back and it was remade with fresh fries. Once it was remade it was very good but it took an extra 20 minutes. We tried the pie for desert and we're not that much of a fan but the rest of the food was great. There were sports on the tv and it had a young crowd. Stopped by here for lunch but I've been here a few times before just for drinking nights. This place is pretty good. The ambiance is nice and the space is huge so you don't feel cramped. They have a big drink menu and I find their drafts are tasty. I got food for the first time my last visit -- the Korean bbq bowl. It was surprisingly nice though the portion wasn't very large. Give the prices I probably wouldn't just come here randomly but when works paying I can't complain. The service here is great, I find that they are super friendly and attentive every time. REFUSES REASONABLE DISABILITY ACCOMMODATION! cked me out tonight with very little of an explanation. Apparently one of the staffers had complained that I'd raised my voice after misplacing my phone, but nobody even told me I was doing that on the night of the alleged incident, and my ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome mean I can't just detect that without being told -- especially in such a stressful situation as when my phone is missing. (I've also heard an even vaguer complaint about something I said about compensation in the service industry -- I can only guess it may have been related to how a high minimum wage like Seattle's means that smaller tips are fair.) I was given a phone number to call and discuss the matter, but it took 5 days before I could speak to someone and the other staff had apparently already been told I was banned for 3 months anyway. I've been advised to sue under the Americans with Disabilities Act. read more
