Dirty dirty dirty. The carpets are disgusting. I'm storing here waiting for breakfast now 25 minutes and there are only 5 tables with customers in the place. It's cold in here. People are just outside 10" away from the entry door smoking and the space stinks. Employees??? Still no food. Still cold. 25 minutes now!!! Stay away. Oh, I forgot to mention the breakfast I ordered which was $8.99 last time I was in is now $14!!! read more

I would have given 4 Stars but I think most of the menu items are just too expensive. The YELP single $ is closer to $$. That being said, I still would come here again & recommend it but don't expect this former IHOP with its bare boned decor & shaggy dog, thread bare "charm" to be a breakfast & lunch bargain. As I've mentioned in other reviews it seems like a noteworthy breakfast or lunch for $10 or under is hard to come by (at least in CA). Anyway, I liked that the colorful menu has helpful descriptions & photos of all the offerings. They look & sound tempting & pretty generous. The actual meal looked like the photo & it tasted very good. I had the Machaca Plate at 12.99. My friend ordered the Strawberry & Banana Pancakes w/a side of eggs. The pancakes were very good but you only get two for 5.99! I was eyeing the Super Stacker, a scrambled egg & chicken breast combo but it was $15.99! The service was friendly & the coffee was good. Located on PCH with a handy parking lot. The Loaded Cafe is a beacon for single diners, couples & families looking for homemade style meals & a casual atmosphere. We came in on a stormy Monday afternoon & it hit the spot. I can't afford to be a regular but I will be back. read more

If I could I would give it a NO STAR!!!LET ME SAY THIS PLACE IS HELLA DIRTY!!! How do you guys pass health expedition?! My husband and I ate here for breakfast. My husband had lipstick stain on his coffee cup, so he asked for a new cup, and the new cup crap on the handles which my husband didn't want to have them give him another new cup of coffee. My utensils were dirty, so I grab a new set from the table besides me, I looked to make sure it's clean, but YET AGAIN IT WAS DIRTY! The second set had food in between the fork and knife. Grab anther set (3rd set I'm switching) and it still have food crust on the utensils. WHAT DO YOU WASH YOUR UTENSILS WITH?! THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME EATING HERE!!!! FOOD: Got a waffle combo... waffles had banana and strawberries off the bat the bananas were brownish, so in my head I was not going to touch the banana. I had one bite of my waffle with a strawberry and let me say the strawberry taste OLD!!! Took ONE bite of my hash browns and it taste like shit! Hash browns and eggs were SUBMERGED IN OIL!!!! I BARELY TOUCHED MY FOOD BC I WASN'T HAPPY OR SATISFIED WITH MY FOOD. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO DENNYS!! FOOD AT DENNYS TASTE SO MUCH BETTER AND IS CHEAPER!!! read more

Went here several times and was good until this last time. We were seated directly in line with the bathroom, that was terrible and we thankfully were moved to a new table. Unfortunately there was a large bug on the ceiling that we noticed upon moving. I am disappointed since we had been before, but I will not be going back after that experience. read more

I first learned of this place with a visit to the Gardena location, and was sufficiently impressed to bring a group to the Long Beach one. I was ecstatic that this one was even better! The menu is the same, and the food was equally delicious (and affordable!), but I was especially impressed with the great service and friendly people. Special thanks to Luz, who was an exceptional server! I had my usual chocolate and peanut butter crepes (maybe a bit more chocolate would be good), but also tried the hash browns and pancakes. They were all terrific, and I love the extra buttery flavor. I will definitely be back! read more

Three issues I had today regarding this restaurant was the fact that I ordered a $22 dollar appetizer platter that should've included chicken strips but didn't get any...and I wasn't even notified at the fact that they didn't have any. $22 dollars is a lot for an appetizer they didn't have...I was better off going to BJ's Brewhouse. Secondly I had also order 2 plates of strawberry and banana French toast and wasn't given any utensils...we are on the road so it's very frustrating for us to pay all this money towards food that didn't even include utensils. Lastly, when I was picking everything up the woman had me waiting for my hot chocolate but she was clearly really busy socializing with other people, which is why she probably forgot to include my utensils in the order. This place is overpriced you'd have better luck eating at Jerry's on 7th street for breakfast! read more

Came here on a Monday and was able to find parking right away. When we walked in, the host greeted us and stated that the wait was 5 mins. One minute later, the host was able to sit us at a booth. I ordered the Swedish crepes and they were tasty (just like my friend promised). My son ordered a side of sausage and I had to ask 2 waitress for the order because he did not receive it with his pancakes. We were only asked once if we needed anything else before rushing us off to pay our tab. It was interesting as everyone around us kept getting asked if they were ok multiple times, they didn't seem to be rushed off. As far as the furniture, I think they need some updates and repair. It was a little uncomfortable as the customers next to us kept moving and bumping to the booth seat. I would like to try their lunch but I May have to order it since it's in a sketchy part of town. read more

I came here visiting from the Bay Area and I saw the reviews and thought this would be a great place for a family breakfast. I'm so upset I just left the restaurant, I was not satisfied with the food. My waffle was so soft seemed like it was not fully cooked. Also, the pancakes fell apart it was just a mess. I went to loaded with my family during the afternoon , and the staff seem short so I believe the lady that helped us was the manager she was quick and fast to seat us didn't ask us how many people just told us have a seat , she seem like she was in a rush to get us seat and to order which I didn't like since it was my first time there with my family of 4 . The food was great I loved it all , just our service I didn't like . I would come again I just rather have the waiter helped us not the manager is looked really bother and pissed and she shouldn't of took it out on us , if you're gonna be a manger and serve us you should really check your attitude before dealing with customers . I hope this gets resolve , cause I heard about this place from a friend . I will be calling corporate today to also tell them about my experience . read more

Our second visit to Loaded Cafe, Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach. Ordered one of the country breakfasts this time (country sausage with country potatoes). Really enjoyed the old-fashioned, southern-style, homemade flavor. Particularly liked the crispy potatoes with soft, creamy insides. My dining partner ordered an egg & fruit scramble w/cheese which was made just as ordered. Never disappointed with the taste and quality of the food at this restaurant. We've visited the restaurant one late weekday morning and a late afternoon thus far. First time we visited, our servers were both Kassidie and Joshua. This visit, Joshua was our server. He even helped me download Long Beach Transit's app to my phone. Above and beyond service, as well as excellent food here. read more

This marks the first time I've had a feeling of privacy in a diner. At Denny's, you can see the entire restaurant from any seat (which is perfectly ok, I'm jus' sayin'). Here, there was a feeling of privacy not present in most diners. Also, I can bring my twin toddlers and sit them on the inside of the booth, while my wife and I block them in by sitting on the outside. Veronica was our server. She was good - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I had the country style fried chicken steak and two eggs over easy. It came with hash browns, and two pancakes. The country fried steak was freshly prepared, and had a good amount of flavor. The sausage gravy was delicious. The eggs were good. The pancakes were some of the best I've had - there was the perfect amount of fluffiness and freshness. There are four types of syrups tableside to choose from. I also had strawberry lemonade, which was very good - just be advised there's no free refills. Loaded Kitchen Cafe was delightful, and I will be back to try other menu items. read more

This new place just opened a week ago taking over the existing IHOP location on PCH. They added new paint inside and out, new carpet, tables and upholstery, a new name and TA-DA they have a new restaurant. I had to try it out asap so I grabbed pops and headed over for dinner tonight. SERVICE: We were greeted with a smile and seated quickly. Service throughout the our meal was friendly, helpful and prompt. I spoke to another customer who has been here a couple times already and she said the service is much better now then when it was IHOP. FOOD: There is a L A R G E menu... eleven pages in all. LOTS of breakfast items but no more Rooty Tooty Fresh & Fruity here, no sir! Tons of pancakes, 8 flavors in all, INCLUDING Choco Coco Pecan AND sausage filled!! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lgAHk6OugOVx1EKJrIVAGw?select=CfOmNPRPj186F7JKpM3fIA#CfOmNPRPj186F7JKpM3fIA Eight different flavors of french toast and waffles. Ten... yes TEN different Crepes to choose from, not to mention the TEN different omelettes including a "build it yourself" option! BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE.... there are the 13 other "usual" breakfast items too, like ham, bacon, sausage, steak & eggs, etc, etc. The breakfast's ranges from $5 up to $16 for the T-bone steak & eggs. The rest of the menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, salads for lunch and chicken, shrimp, fish and pasta dishes, plus a couple of steaks for dinner. I choose the country fried steak dinner http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lgAHk6OugOVx1EKJrIVAGw?select=QHw8sUXlo-3lqSWtqUbyFg#8P0rThLDPMEZwjr1T3mnaQ and pops choose the pot roast dinner http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lgAHk6OugOVx1EKJrIVAGw?select=QHw8sUXlo-3lqSWtqUbyFg#Fu6boe_tC82MZDJ1Cf0Keg You know I was hoping for more from this new place. Dads pot roast tasted good initially, but when I went back to taste again later it seemed overly salty. My country fried steak was just O...K... probably better than Denny's, but still. The country gravy was under seasoned and "Meh", the potatoes had no gravy... NO GRAVY! What the..?? Honestly they were light, fluffy and tasted fairly OK on their own, but still, what are mashed potatoes w/o GRAVY? OVERALL: Total out the door including tip, $29 (ok, $28.99) not too bad I suppose when compared to what else is out there. While dinner did NOT impress me, I have a gut feeling this place is really going to shine for breakfast. However that remains to be seen. read more

My new favorite breakfast spot. Prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. You can order breakfast with a crepe for about $11 bucks and the portion can almost feed 2. It is very hard for me not to give this place 5 stars. I think the only thing is really the place itself- they took over a former IHOP and it still feels like an IHOP. I was a little skeptical coming in despite the good reviews. It's sort of out there and Long Beach has some amazing breakfast spots so I knew this would be a tough win for Loaded Kitchen. However, LK definitely didn't disappoint and blew my expectations away! First things first, we were greeted with smiles, everyone was friendly, and the service was wonderful. I loved the waitress and it makes me want to come back. But friendly people can't do it alone- you need good food! i went with the Crepe combo... it was a crepe with lingonberries, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. The crepe was absolutely perfect. I was very happy with it. I don't comment much on eggs or the sides but let me just say that my plate was polished off. I RARELY eat hashbrowns or potatoes mostly because they aren't good enough for me to waste my calories on. These hashbrowns just blew me away... seriously, they could have been the best I've had! Fantastic! I saw some of the photos so you probably know they give you a wide selection of hot sauces and it's fun to experiment with each. I really liked the green on a lot... I think it really added a lot to my scrambled eggs (not that they weren't good without the sauce). This place is a bit out there... the atmosphere might not match up to some other breakfast places but if you're just coming for good food (at good prices btw) then this is a place you should certainly check out! read more

My NEW Fav breakfast spot! My bestfriend took me for breakfast for my bday and my taste buds have been on another level since! She got the Blueberry Pancakes which she said were "O.K" but I got the the strawberry/banana Crepes with Cream Cheese (the cream cheese was a substitute and it wasn't an extra charge either which is always a HUGE plus. And I've gotta say they were PHENOMENAL. We also shared a Chilaquiles plate and it sufficed us both. And we're eaters. It was all good. The staff kept coming around to ALL tables making sure all patrons were good and weren't missed. There was a little of a wait time, but not too bad & worth it. Prices are also very reasonable. There's plenty of parking. If I could recommend anything, I'd be to get there early. read more

Ok... Loaded Loaded with what? Let me say I have always seen this place and drove past it because I didnt like the sign. Today I made the mistake of stopping by. While the service was great, I couldn't say the same for the food... Maybe they need a new chef and maybe someone else too do their purchasing. Food here isn't real. The presentation of some of the food probably didn't help as well. Hell maybe the menu is too demographically based on location? Arrived at 830am, we where seated away from everyone else, which if consider race it was interesting. We ordered, a machaca breakfast and country fried steak and eggs. Along with iced coffee and a regular coffee. I'll begin to break this down. Dish one (machaca) eggs and beef were ok. But then its easy too hide mistakes in a scramble. The meat wasn't juicy it was more dried and bland not really seasoned to taste other than that. The beans where watery fresh from the can just has bland as my bagged cooked rice next too it. My tortillas where thrown in a bag and microwaved. If you like that sort of thing then go for it. Now dish two I though would be better. It looked appealing. But the chicken fried steak was prepackaged processed. The gravy was powdered mixed with milk or water. The eggs had a shell left in. Mistakes happen but only the only thing left edible was the hash browns which seemed over cooked. The most annoying thing though was the waitress offering me a multitude of sauces and ketchups. Its 8am don't offer me 4 sauces and ask me to try your chicken wings and chicken strips. Maybe its demographically inevitable but I don't need buffalo wings this early in the morning... why would assume that. If your wondering about the coffee, don't. The coffee was also fake, powdered swiss mix. My iced coffee was also a syrup blend. IHOP used to be the establishment in this location. I'm not an IHOP frequent customer but I would appreciate it coming back. Some of the yelpers believe IHOP is expensive, if you cant afford an IHOP then you have no business going out too eat period. Also I cant believe some of these yelpers gave this place a five star review they don't know what food is or haven't gone out enough. Maybe they had some mythical magical experience on whatever plate they ordered that wasn't granted to me. A cancer patient with no taste buds would be disappointed in this location as well. What a waste of 34 dollars. The service was great, the location was clean. But food is not their business. read more

The food was good, prices were average, service was ok, but the overall experience could use some improvement. What rubbed me the wrong way was the "non cash fee" that is added to the check. I have never been to a restaurant that charged you this before even knowing if you're paying cash or not. The fee is roughly 4% - that's crazy. I'm going to report them. California has a law, California Civil Code section 1748.1, that prohibits businesses from adding a surcharge when a consumer chooses to use a credit card instead of paying by cash. read more

I ordered the supreme combo and it was just what I was looking for. $7.99 for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and a hashbrown. They have a big menu with many options. I don't know if it was just this location but honestly the food was not great. It was lacking flavor and to be honest being served on a metal tray feels so weird ? Just use plates!
