This was one of my favorite out-of-town dining experiences. My mom and I ate here for lunch/early dinner almost 2 years ago and I still think about the food we ordered. We had the lomo tacos and somvegan or vegetarian dish, I can't remember what it was called but every flavor was balanced so well! read more

One of the best, if not the best, restaurant in St. Augustine. Always a pleasure to dine here: creative and flavorful dishes, wonderful service and a pleasant ambiance. It may be hard to get a table but it's worth the wait. read more

Made Anniversary reservations. Fantastic experience. Food was phenomenal. Staff was amazing. Definitely recommend.

We have been to Peru and can say that this restaurant offers truly authentic Peruvian food. We had Ceviche Lima as an appetizer and it was great. The sauce was just right and had a little bit of kick to it. For a main course I had Tallarines Verdes with steak and the steak was so tender and the pasta extremely flavorful. It is a small restaurant and they were full so be sure to make a reservation. The service was excellent and friendly as well. We will definitely be back! read more

Simply divine. From the atmosphere to the service, we couldn't have asked for a better evening and meal. The pulpo was everything I hoped it would be and more and I hardly have words for the Paiche! I'll be dreaming of this fish for months. Our 1 year old almost ate all of it. We're thrilled St. Augustine has such a stunning gem. We'll be back for seconds and thirds. read more

I have been coming to this wonderful Peruvian restaurant since it opened. It has a wonderful atmosphere, great tasting food and their dishes have beautiful presentations. Because of Covid they are now only open, as of this week ,for take out .Please support local restaurants . They have a new menu take out that you can check out online. read more

My husband and I visited last night and enjoyed the chef's tasting menu. It was phenomenal and worth every penny. 6 courses for $50. You must request the tasting menu in advance but it is well worth it. Each course represented a region of Peru beautifully prepared and the chef was delightful explaining each dish. The wine pairing ($45) was also wonderful. We have eaten dinner here before and enjoyed it, but the chef's tasting menu blew us away. Great service too!!! A must for foodies in St. Augustine! read more

This place is everything I love about an authentic cuisine in a small town. The staff was very accommodating and personable. Quaint and small restaurant but full of detail. The chef is from Peru. Presentation was impressive. And most importantly the ceviche is out of this world. They serve it in a bowl with the leche de tigre in the center so you can sip spoonfuls if you want. That was my favorite presentation of ceviche ever. I also had the Aji- braised shredded chicken with a creamy yellow Peruvian chile sauce. SO GOOD. The drinks are also impressive, especially for just serving wine and beer. They make fantastic mixed drinks with Proseco. Highly recommended the Lima Mule. Great date spot! read more

Llama Restaurant - Delicious!! - Peruvian Near Me - Saint Augustine, Florida

Llama is the spot ...the spot for a amazing dinner that is truly from another world . The Lomo is dynamite ...the atmosphere is small but the experience is big I recommend llama to anyone who likes high quality food with an experienced chef who is not from where you are from Banging read more

Not my type of place, because I don't like the food that much and the setting is weak. Our favorite food was the pisco and horchata "Intermezzo," a free drink between courses that tasted like Bailey's. Unfortunately, the intermezzo changes regularly. My second-favorite thing was the flan, which seemed like one of the best I've tasted. Our other desserts, coriander ice cream and alfajores aftermath (dulce de leche-filled cookies), were pretty good too. The complimentary starter bowl of corn and plantains was good too. We shared 4 appetizers, and found them more interesting than good (as did my companion). Ceviche, pulpo (octopus, which was tasty but we disliked the sauce), causa trio, and anitcuchos (beef hearts, probably my favorite of the four). I also had a couple of their "Mimosas," the Pomarosa and Chichamosa. Again, they were more interesting than good: I'd prefer a regular Mimosa or Bellini. The only regular menu item that I'd repeat was the flan, which doesn't make this a good meal for me. Service was generally on a high level, but at the end of the meal my water wasn't refilled (something that happens to me all too often), and the busboy (?) laughed about the third time I asked him to repeat the ingredients in a dish. The setting is below average: it's loud enough to somewhat impede conversation at a two-person table; the chairs are below average in comfort; and you have to go outside and walk around to the back of the building to get to the clean but otherwise below average bathroom. 4 apps, 2 desserts, and 2 Mimosas came to about $100 for two. We would have spent more if we'd had entrees (and I would have eaten a bit more if I had it to do over again). Overall, I just don't like the taste of their food that much, and the setting and prices don't encourage me to go back there either. read more

READ PLEASE. I've eaten at the llama many times, but have never gotten service so bad. The waitress neglected our table and only did the BARE MINIMUM to serve us. Very long wait time for everything, and dessert took 25 minutes to arrive. Our favorite dish was WAY overcooked, and all we got in return was "our cook never cooks it like that." Just a general dismissive behavior from all the staff. VERY unhappy with this visit. Deciding on whether or not to dine there again. read more

We read the reviews and decided to make this our final meal in St. Augustine. We arrived at 8:30, a full 30 minutes before closing, but were told they decided to close early, even though their posted hours were until 9pm. I've got to question the chef/owners commitment to quality of service... if you post hours, keep them, or at least let folks you're closing in advance. read more

First time here. Place was very clean. Staff was pleasant. Presentation of all the dishes were outstanding. I also took several llamas home with me 5 of them. Well, close enough. $5.00 each for the key chain and couple of magnets. I will be back for the solid wood Llama that I want. But everything from start to the end was great. We will be back when we stop in Saint Augustine. read more

So I hear it's a good restaurant, looked at the online menu and seemed like it deserved a visit. Website says they close at 9. I walk in at 8.45.... tables are available.... bus boy looks at his watch.... waiter looks at his watch... hostess walks over to me smiling and I say 2 please.... She says we're closed ... SATURDAY NIGHT..... not even closing time ... they're not interested. Wish I had a business that didn't need customers... Will not be back... Their loss. read more

Arrived in St Augustine from Orlando and decided to get some Peruvian food, started with the Ceviche, it was very good and the presentation was excellent as well. I also ordered Lomo which is my favorite Peruvian dish, the meat was raw and cold and fatty. They took it back and returned under cooked again even though I said I liked it well done.the original Lomo Saltado is made with top sirloin, this was definitely not. Presentation-was nice and service was good as well. Don't like writing bad reviews but I'm just being honest. read more

Best meal of my life. Not only is the food exactly as you would get it in Peru, but the love and passion behind the recipes is there. We started with the Anticuchos and ceviche and the presentation was so great and omg the taste was incredible!!! Then we tried the Mar y Tierra and it was unlike anything I've had before! The combination of the Lomo Saltado over the pepper cream pasta. Incredible!! Then the dessert was made with my favorite fruit. Lucuma. It was a chocolate mousse with lucuma purée with the nicest caramel display. The chef and his wife are the sweetest and most thoughtful couple. I will always be visiting this restaurant when I am in town. read more

Beautifully #Fresh! Starting with delicious Pulpo, thinly sliced octopus carpaccio with hints of lime and drizzled with an olive aioli. Mussel ceviche shooters, dreams are made of this. After sharing Papas and lovly grilled and smoked beef heart, I went for the Zeta Capchi. A beautiful creamy Oyster Mushroom Stew with hints of Andean mint and peppers. Our table filled with Lomo, Costillo Seco and Aji. We all ate from each others dishes sharing and experiencing flavors some have never had. My sons beautiful girlfriend is Peruvian and she shared stories with every dish telling us of memories that the flavors and smells were bringing back to her. Truly one of the best culinary experiences in our wonderful little city. You don't go to Llama to eat, you go to experience and dine. Thank you Chef Marcel Adrian Vizcarra! read more

Literally the best food I have ever had- everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was also attentive- we will be back again and again.

I have been to Llama on multiple occasions and am happy to say that each visit is better than the last ... which is hard to imagine! The creativity displayed by the Chef is only matched by the incredible presentation and wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. St. Augustine has developed into quite a "foodie" town, but I know that I can come to Llama and consistently find something unlike anything else in our little town. The work that goes into each dish is truly spectacular. Llama is more than just a restaurant, it is a full dining experience unlike any other. read more

Our entire family (party of 5) thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience. This is a very small and unassuming building from the exterior. The interior is casual, yet elegant. Reservations are required and I recommend you call at least a week in advance. There aren't any tables and the wait staff do not rush you through your meal, so there aren't many seating times. All of these factors provide for an intimate and relaxing dinner. The descriptions in the menu are very modest, so we were pleasantly surprised by the flavors. The food is amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu (including the wine list), provided excellent recommendations, and answered our questions with perfect detail. We started with the Pulpo and the Anticuchos, which I wouldn't have selected without the recommendation of our server. We have never had octopus so tender, very delicious. Anticuchos is a traditional Peruvian street food. All I will say is these beef skewers are a must try! For our entrees we had Costilla Seco, Paiche, Lomo, Mar Y Tierra and Perihuela. We had not a single criticism. Every dish was fresh, tender, flavorful, and filling. We wrapped up our evening by sharing three desserts (custard, mousse, and humita) and were not disappointed. The flavor and texture combinations were impressive. We will definitely return to The Llama when we are in St Augustine again. Looking forward to trying the multi-course dining experience for two read more

I normally don't write reviews, but this restaurant deserves one. I have tried many Peruvians rest with no luck. However, after reading so many extraordinary reviews, I decided to try it. My husband and and I, were visiting St Augustine and found this spectacular place online. EVERYTHING was fantastic. The food, the atmosphere, the servers and everything in between was flawless. We started with octopus and ceviche lima... perfectly done, followed by paiche- white fish- and lomo. Both meals were cooked to perfection with spectacular presentation. The rest itself don't look eye-catching, but once you get in, you will be impressed. Another point: the meals were served on time. We did not wait too much for our meals. Llama deserves a 200%! read more

We went for my husband's birthday, it was fantastic! I'm an extremely picky eater, but loved everything! We had the Aji, Paiche and Zeta Capchi! I loved the Aji, sauce was light and creamy that went well with the chicken, potatoes and rice. I'm not a fan of fish at all, but the Paiche was really good it's an Amazonian arapaima, not to fishy taste and delicious! It came with fried yuca, grilled hearts of palm and plantains. The Zeta Capchi was a great stew loved the broth and mushrooms. We can't wait to go back! I'm just upset we didn't get dessert! read more

Amazing ceviche! Steak dish not so great. Not bad, just not great. Dessert presentation unlike anything I've seen before, smoky mountains tell a story. Draft beer was not cold. Let go to Peru, So, have you ever craved good authentic Peruvian dishes and you did not want to travel 2,731 miles to satisfy that craving. Well I have great news. Now all you must do is go over the Lions bridge of St Augustine and on your right, is a door that when opened it takes you to the heart of a Peruvian chefs dining room. Where you will find some of the most magnificent Peruvian dishes made. All made with love by a very talented Peruvian chef (Marcel Vizcarra). This is your chance to sit and enjoy a wonderfully crafted meal. Also an excellent chance to enjoy the hospitality and aviance of Peru. I had the Ceviche Lima (APP) , Macho (ENT), and Lgarrobina Custard (DES). The presentation of the dishes were spectacular. We were lucky enough to enjoy the culinary delight with two great friends. We all got different appetizers and shared our plates. It was a perfect opportunity to experiment with the different styles of food prepared. So, whether you enjoy Fish, Seafood,Beef, Pork, or Chicken dishes, or perhaps you are a vegetarian. There is certainly a dish on the menu to try. Let me not forget the corn. If you enjoy different varieties. They have I kinds of assorted corn served with their dishes... So, put that pass port away and call 904-819-1760 and make a reservation tonight. My husband and I just finished an absolutely divine meal here. The service, ambiance, and cuisine were the best we have experienced in quite awhile. Our server Radek was friendly, took time to explain each dish, and provided exceptional service. Every employee we encountered was polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Having worked in the F&B industry in the past, I noted how quickly dishes were cleared, tables thoroughly cleaned and reset, and the attention to detail each employee gave to their task. I had the yucca dips as an appetizer and wanted to finish each of the sauces with a spoon after polishing off the perfectly cooked yucca. My husband said he could eat the cerviche for every meal for the rest of his life. He also loved the Lomo saying he didn't want to eat anything else because he didn't want the flavor to leave his mouth. The Causa Chicken I had was light but incredibly filling. I decided to take home half of it to save room for dessert and I'm so glad I did. We were torn between the Lgarrobina custard and the chocolate mousse cake so we got both. The combination of the two was heavenly. Every moment spent at Llama was thoroughly enjoyable and every morsel was devoured. We will absolutely be back the next time we are in St. Augustine. read more

Llama Restaurant - What a better way to start your day!?! - Peruvian Near Me - Saint Augustine, Florida

Llama is an intimate welcoming space for 28 lucky diners to enjoy meticulously prepared and exquisitely presented Peruvian food. Reservations are highly recommended. We had an Amazon freshwater fish that was perfectly prepared, delicate yet meaty with its own dipping sauce. Three chausas--chicken, shrimp and octopus were flawless and a passion fruit custard cake presentation was over the top and I'd have eaten another right then. Go to Llama, be amazed. Service was spot on as well, really great, friendly and helpful. read more

Best international restaurant in St. Augustine! Went last night for dinner. Have not been there in a while, still as great as ever. The Ceviches are excellent, very authentic Peruvian. The beef hearts are absolutely delicious and you can't beat the presentation. Wasn't sure about mushroom ceviche, but it is a must try! Did not have entree, just had lots of appetizers, something we like to do so we can taste lots of different things. Give this small hidden gem a try you will not be disappointed! read more

My boyfriend and I cycle St. Augustine quite often and noticed the new restaurant. We stopped in to see the menu and decided to return for dinner. It was a full house so we sat at the bar. What a great experience! Amazing family run business, the food is delicious and so different from other restaurants in the city. We had a great time and can't wait to return. I couldn't disagree more with Miguel S. We had a shared appetizer, meal and desert. We were very satisfied with the portions. read more

Had dinner here the day after Christmas. I have to buck the trend here and just wonder what the hype is all about. Sure, the ceviche was tasty but everything else was underwhelming. Time to serve our meals after our apps was unacceptably long and the place wasn't near full. Entree's were all fair. We won't return. read more

I am Chilean and have truly enjoyed Peruvian food for quite some time, extremely underrated. My wife and I enjoyed dinner here last night and it was so good that we literally woke up talking about it. The service was phenomenal and non intrusive, yet our server was always there when we needed him or were running low on our amazing Chilean wine (great selection). All of this pales in comparison to the food. This was the best meal we have had in a long time and I can honestly say we enjoyed it more than Collage which is another great restaurant in the area. The restaurant does not have a full bar/liquor license beyond beer and wine, but it is seriously a must visit. read more
