Do it for brunch. Do it for happy hour. Do it when you're drinking. Do it when you're drunk. Do it when you want a BIG ASS plate of Nachos. This place is an institution. This is the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive. This place has veggie sausage. What more do you want? read more

It's hard to find good vegetarian biscuits and gravy. It's difficult where I'm from because Southerners don't believe in meatless gravy. That's like Jesus with no miracles, to them. It's difficult in Seattle because too often the biscuits are hard and the gravy has no flavor. But to quote Hot Pie, "You just can't give up on the gravy." Went here specifically for the biscuits and mushroom gravy and it did not disappoint. Moist biscuits and flavorful gravy. I've had the biscuit plate a couple times now and the quality is very consistent. read more

Lindas, I love you. Even the thought of you puts a smile on my face. I am a visitor to the Seattle area and spent one magical evening, and a fuzzy morning at this lovely establishment. I guzzled Tequila Grapefruits with wreckless abandon and still managed to keep my bar tab low. It took all of my friends restraint to keep me from throwing myself shamelessly onto the bartender, shit he was hot. In addition to being a bonafide 10, he pours a stiff drink. 4.50$ is pretty fabulous for a cocktail when it is 90% alcohol. God Bless that man. It's a shame I wasn't able to thank him properly.. Unlike last call when they turn the lights on and you realize who you're talking to wasn't as dreamy as you had previously though, Lindas is still wonderful in the natural light of day. Sunday brunch is amazing. Although I am a dive bar enthusiast, I am also a connoisseur of food and I know that more often then not the two do not live together in harmony. Lindas breaks the mold by serving delicious food. I ordered the Cowgirl Taco...It was perfect and paired with a 15$ pitcher of mimosa I couldn't ask for more. Our food took about three times as long as it should have to arrive, but I was smiley on champagne and didn't give a damn. I recommend you do the same - don't come in a hurry and get a nice morning buzz on. Whether you are in search for amazing food or drunken debauchery (or anything in between the extremes), Lindas has it on lock down. read more

Never disappointed at Linda's. Great vibe to hang out with friends and the food is always pretty good. THey also have a great happy hour. But, this place has officially become one of my favorite brunch spots because of their cowboy bloody mary. 1. It's a deliciously made bloody mary 2. it comes with beef jerky. If it's nice out make sure to ask for a seat on the patio! read more

I'm sick of reviewing San Diego things time to get back to Seattle. Before I headed out of town I was finally able to make it to Linda's for their brunch. I'm not sure why I never made it before, maybe I was too fat or too ugly or not cool enough anyways I met up with Michael O for some mimosas and breakfast. We were thirsty that day and went for the pitcher, OMG it was almost mimosa overload so much mimosas for two people, but have no fear like the troopers that we are we finished the picture, I mean pitcher. I went for the cowboy taco and I was thinking a breakfast taco for $7.25 what kind of taco are they going to give me??? Well the menu is a bit deceiving it should be call more a cowboy quesadilla or something it was no taco in my book, anyways it was big and filling but not a taco people. I say grab a good friend, head to Linda's, (get there when they open), grab a booth, order a pitcher of mimosa's and than sit there and relax with you friend until the pitcher is gone while others are stuck crowded at a tiny table. Oh and what ever you do, do not go to the ladies room, it's bad, you'd think first thing in the morning it might be clean and OK nope so not the case. read more

I've been going to Linda's for almost ten years. During covid, going out to their back patio for some drinks while feeling completely comfortable has been a gift! I was lucky and scored a spot next to a heater and I felt TOASTY :) read more

The drinks - decent to good The food - meh to aiiiiight The service - asldkjflakshgl;nvlkda;ldsa I was quite disappointed that they wouldn't make me a friggin' grilled cheese because it was before 3pm (and it was like 2:30) so I could dip it in my bloody mary! Is that not an amazing idea???!!! Well, it still hasn't been actualized because the waitress was too lazy to even ask the cook if he/she could slap a piece of cheese on some bread. I seriously would have fried it up myself on the hot, sun-kissed table we were sitting at had she just been able to get us some bread and cheese. BREAD AND CHEESE! It's so easy! I know you have it! We went here for some drinks before an event and did not feel very welcome. The bartender was not very friendly and it didn't seem like we could get here attention. After spilling a bit we needed to grab some napkins but after waiting ten minutes to get someone's attention, had to grab them of someone else's table. The drinks weren't bad and it seems like a place that regulars are treated pretty well but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. read more

Hipster, my ass. This is where the college kids go when they want to dress up and get sloshed. I wonder since when hipster meant waiting in six person deep line for the bathroom. And getting kicked out of the men's bathroom for being a girl? Ladies gotta take care of their bodily functions. Maybe I got used to all of the real hipster bathrooms in Victoria, where they have gender neutral water closets. Back to the real world in "my" culture. Drinks are stiff and tasty. I could only handle one. It gets really busy in here, half seated and half standing. There is a gently lit outdoor patio, kinda magical, and another area sectioned off with particle board for smoking. Breakfast is like bar food, because hellooooooo it's a bar, but hey everyone is sitting at this point and not in taking diuretics so at least you don't have to wait in line for the loo. read more

Decent happy hour. Love the outdoor seating. Came here late at night once and the food wasn't great. Overcooked chicken strips and tater tots are gross even when you're drunk lol. Bloody Mary's were delicious. I'll definitely give them another chance. read more

I like Linda's. I remember when Linda's opened and I hung out there quite a bit, but as my life and location changed, Linda's fell by the wayside for many years. I'm as surprised as anyone to find myself at Linda's all over again. Oh yes, there are much cooler places, newer, trendier and (the ultimate in trendy) LESS-trendy! But the staples keep 'em coming back, I guess. One of the most shining of Linda's stars has always been the 7-9 HH. Why more bars in the area don't break with the 4-6 10-close mold is beyond me. 7-9 is the sweet spot where I need a happy hour. Weekend brunch is reliable, comfortable and reasonably priced. Food and drink specials are always inventive, topical and well-played. The staff are lovely, fun and efficient. When weather permits, the back patio is legendary. Thanks, Linda's. I affectionately goose you. read more

On a warm summer night the back deck is perfect. Little smoking area just sprouted up last week (right behind it) after the management got nailed (again) by Seattle's no-smoking-in-public-places law. Decent benches and great for 6-8 friends. Plus I heard the word "Re-donk-ulous" for the first time since I lived with Matt from U-dub in LA. I miss everything being redonkulous. read more

This definitely falls into the category of a dive bar. I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar and one odd thing stood out to me. Either the bar top is about 2 inches too high or the bar stool is too low because I felt like I was reaching up to grab my drink. In terms of service, nothing more than what do you want and I will pour it heavy. I think I paid $6.50 for a Sailor Jerry and coke and it was definitely a double. Essentially just a light splash of coke. There are good and bad dive bars and this falls in the middle. Nothing special but if you are looking for very heavy pours this is your spot. read more

I've had good and bad experiences here. Last night I went with friends for HH and we had a great time. Lots of food items that are decent for cheap bar food while you're drinking. Not the best bar food you'll get in town, but it does the job and it's cheap during HH. The waitress was really nice and made sure we had a good time while we were there. I also came to Linda's after work last week and had the opposite experience. The service was not good, took forever to take our order and bring our drinks/food and the place was pretty empty. The waitress was not friendly and the music was loud and annoying. In the end, it's really just a grimy dive bar - how good of a dive bar? I'd say it's hit or miss! read more

Okay, so I tried the food at happy hour.. I must say if this place was more happy hour all of the time I could understand why this place is good. Shared a pitcher of (crappy) beer, fries and 6 sliders (3 each) and a shot of whiskey for 11 bucks (minus tip)... impressive! Love this place because it reminds me of King's so much, but it's much more convenient to hit up Capitol Hill than Ballard. They were smart in having two bars in different neighborhoods. Anyway, I've been here a few times, once for St. Patty's and once this past weekend for my bf's bday. Both times were pretty awesome. I do love this location too because it's right across from R Place AND Mama's so if we wanted to dance or eat, we could just walk a few steps across the street and BAM. The outdoor area is where we hung out both times because it's cool and there's just more space and tables. They will kick you out if you are intoxicated though, but not before warning you a few times. I decided to kick my bf out before the server could warn us for a 3rd time... He had enough and the server looked pissed so I didn't want to cause a scene so I escorted him out myself. Drinks are STRONG too! And cheap! read more

WOW. I am honestly shocked. I have worked as a Server and bartender for 13 years and if there is a person with empathy or understanding it's me. I walked in for a quick bite / drink before heading to a meeting. We sat for about 15 minutes. When we looked over at the bartender and server, the bartender was eating, and the server was on her phone. Another man walked into the restaurant and sat at the bar. They saw him too, but continued to eat, talk to one another and be on their phone. I finally looked over and gave a little wave....they saw me, ignored it and started talking to eachother and to someone in the kitchen, and were taking turns eating. After about 7 more minutes, I got up, said thank you for nothing, and walked out. They watched us leave. Still, the man at the bar hadn't been greeted either. It's very easy to communicate "I'll be right with you" or "I will be with you soon." The fact that they saw all of us (3 employees) more than once and continued to ignore us tells me they shouldn't be there at all. If It were my restaurant they would both be fired with no warning. That is truly unacceptable. read more

DIdn't get any food here, but it was a pretty chill place for happy hour. The beers were good. Unfortunately my friend and I ordered the same beer and he got the last glass and they had forgotten to chill the replacement keg, so I was forced to get a different beer. But it turned out alright as I ended up liking the other one better than the Founders. Definitely a low key chill spot. Pretty nice outdoor patio in the back with picnic tables and regular tables for groups or duos. read more

In addition to late-night sexypeoplewatching, Linda's also has brunch. I am brunch-obsessed, so I try to eat brunch just about anywhere I can ;) They have typical fare, omelettes, pancakes, etc.. but it was better than I was expecting and reasonably priced. I like Linda's because unlike some of the other bars on the hill (*coughCHACHAcough*), it doesn't feel nearly as uberhipstersnob/highschool- "I'm wearing the latest trendy outfit/hairstyle and OMG is that so-and-so from such-and-so band? He's sooooo hot"). It's more laidback... a place where if you strike up a conversation with a person you don't know, you might have a real conversation vs. a "wanna come back to my place tonight?" ...... I'm upping it to four stars because I really appreciate the $3.50 mimosas at brunch. It wasn't a weak mimosa either. The food isn't fantastic or amazing, but it's reliable and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. read more

First time there and was excited to order food. Politely asked to see a menu when the server got a chance (I was next in line and didn't want to hold up the line looking at the menu) was told rather rudely "I'll be with you next". I was given the menu and he was SUPER dismissive of me and rudely yelled "NEXT" immediately after handing me the menu....my friend was standing right next to me and was the next person in line...I get you're busy, but you can be nicer.. Edit: apparently rude/terrible customer service is the norm here! Good to know. read more

I love Linda's for what it is- and that is a no frills dive-y style bar nestled right in the hill. The inside is gloomy but roomy, with the requisite PNW look with lots of natural wood and references to Twin Peaks as well as a few arcade machines. It's pretty roomy inside and there is a back patio space as well. The food is good for standard bar food, nothing has ever knocked my socks off but honestly that's not why I go. Good drink selection, friendly staff. Has made for some really fun nights, especially if you wander to Hot Mama's across the stree! read more

If you dread the extremely long waits for brunch on a Sunday morning, Linda's Tavern is a great option for a quick brunch in Capitol Hill. I decided to order the special they had which was a Salmon Eggs Benedict with potatoes. I loved the hollandaise sauce which was on the rich side but it was well-balanced with acidity. The English muffin could have been crispier and it was hard to cut into it which is the reason for the four stars. The staff were very friendly and welcoming while we waited for our table. read more

No frills bar with yummy burgers, fries and beer. Great spot for after work and late night eats. Only issue would be parking.

You can tell this used to be a cool place before the hipsters completely overran it. Too bad. However, if that doesn't bother you, and neither does really slow service and listening to Spice Girls during your hangover brunch, you'll probably like it. The food was decent, and the prices were cheap. read more

Been here a few times, always enjoyed it. It's very much a typical dive bar. The seating arrangement is kind of neat since it's almost two levels.. more of a split level, for lack of a better term. Pretty hip place. Yeah, it's the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive, so they say, but don't really come here thinking you're going to channel Kurt or anything. Honestly, it'd be kind of depressing to come here for that reason alone. read more

Linda's was my first restaurant adventure since they have been allowed to open for dining. I was so nervous and it all went away after dining here. I felt completely safe and the staff was doing everything they are supposed to. They have areas roped off so noone will sit there and the staff was constantly cleaning. Like an idiot I got up to use the restroom and forgot to wear my mask, in a matter of seconds a waiter reminded me that I needed to have it on, I was so thankful for him being on top of it. The food was, as always, delicious and they even have a menu QR code on the tables! read more

Linda's is pretty cool I like the atmosphere because it's dark basically. Okay really though, if you need a fairly neutral venue to kick off your night, Linda's is it. Right in the middle of Capitol Hill and full of locals. They play good music and the drinks are fairly priced. Be sure to check out LindasFest! Great punk shows in the summer. Pretty sure it was a better alternative to block party this year. They're porch is KILLER! It gets a little packed with bros earlier in the evening. But if you hold out till later and start your night outside, you'll feel right at home. I like to try and grab a table and build from there. It's great for groups and late ninth shenanigans. I'd feel completely comfortable suggesting a work happy hour here too : ) read more

I've been to Linda's a few times, but the staff today were nasty individuals. The bouncer outside was reading a book during peak hours on a Saturday night, and was super rude while checking IDs. Once it came to closing time, they closed early (even though it was advertised as 2am everywhere). And the staff were very inconsiderate when informing the guests and basically kicked us all out. We came here on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. We sat outdoors in a beautiful garden area enclosed by brick walls. It was truly picturesque, and it added an earthy feel to the experience. I had blueberry pancakes and eggs, both of which were delicious. The waitstaff were helpful and polite and constantly refilling coffee and water. Unfortunately, our experience was soured by an inordinate wait time for food. We placed our order and waited about an hour for food to come out. We felt somewhat abandoned by our server during this time and saw her once around 40 minutes in, when she offered an explanation that multiple large parties had been seated at once. I'm certain she was being honest with us, but it was too little, too late. This review likely would have been 4 or 5 stars had it not been for this issue, which very much diminished our experience. I'll come back at some point and give the restaurant another chance as again, the food was delicious and I love the atmosphere and this was likely a one-time issue. read more

We came here expecting a happy hour but found out that they had recently changed their hours. We decided to still eat here - I ordered the Nachos with the vegetarian chili and was significantly disappointed. I've had nachos at several places and find it extremely difficult to mess it up. The vegetarian chili was extremely bland and the chips were also quite bland. The only flavor I could add was the guacamole and sour cream, which were given on the side, not with the plate of nachos. Both of those things, however, ran out really quickly so I ended up just eating a bunch of unsalted chips and bland dip. The service was also kind of slow, and the restaurant was weirdly lit and playing really annoying music. The food was also way too expensive and would've been even if the nachos were good. read more

Meh.. Decent service. Don't bother wasting money on the food; for the price point, you can do a lot better. The fries where overcooked, chicken strips were dry and chalky. the nachos were a joke, tastes like cafeteria food, just a bunch of beans, sprinkle of cheese. and side of guac? and some sour cream, and salsa? Didn't remember if it was happy hour or not, but i'd rather pay a bit more for something decent. Why bother serving food at all if its not up to par ? Then again, i should of known better to order from a bar, just like ordering hot dogs from a gas station and expect fine dining? Maybe my expectations were too high? The courtyard was really chill and had a inviting atmosphere, so I really can't complain. In fact i'm not, but just hope others would take fair warning not to set expectations too high.
