Parents were in town from Hawaii and mom was craving a whole fried fish. Looked on Yelp and Limon popped up on the feed. This restaurant did not disappoint. The whole fish was excellent and came with a delicious tomato based sauce that was light and didnt overpower the fish. The whole rotisserie chicken was moist and tasty (also went well with a side of chimichurri sauce). The Lomo Saltado was excellent as well, beef was very tender. We also had a side of fried plantains that had the right amount of sweetness. I ordered this on DoorDash and also went in and their quality was the same. If you're looking for a different type of ceviche, this one is very well made. They packaged everything separately when I ordered and put care in making sure it came the way they sent it. It was very busy when I had come but we still got a table right away. We decided to try out this spot for dinner due to many recommendations. It was dark and pouring rain but the atmosphere inside was warm and upbeat. Our host was friendly and quickly seated us. The place was bustling and the servers were rushing to serve all the tables. The downside to this restaurant was that the tables were small and compact. You get seated super close to the other tables where you can hear each tables' conversations. There is not much intimacy or privacy due to the seating arrangements. The server helped us quickly but seemed very rushed to get things done to help other tables, which I understand. The food we ordered were very delicious, overall! The yuca fries were a nice texture and differed from regular fries. The empanada sampler was great to share and it was very filling before our mains even arrived!(crispy on the outside and soft and filled on the inside) The macaroni looked a little disappointing because it looked like kraft mac and cheese but tasted pretty decent. The beef short ribs were tender, flavorful and juicy! The con to the dish was that the beans were extremely salty and we could not finish it. This spot has some decent food but it is on the pricier end! I have pretty mixed feelings about it but I can certainly say that most of the dishes we ordered tasted good. The food was delicious and very well done! We got the Lomo Saltado, which tasted good. However the beef was a tad bit overcooked/dry. We also got the Crispy Pork Belly Chaufa, which was even better. The rice to pork ratio we thought was a bit off though, as there was so much rice in the dish! Almost canceling our reunion with coworkers/friends due to bad rain today. But we made it. It was our first time eating at Limon here in Burlingame. But I had eaten in South VanNess in SF. I had a reservation at 12:30 pm but I arrived early. We got our table. I ordered still water while waiting for my friends. I was cruising the menu and they looked delicious. My friends arrived close to the time of our reservation. We ordered the empanadas sampler and drinks. Both friends had glasses of Rose Prosecco and I had a glass of Limon Pico Sour. My friends ordered the same Saltado Vegetariano and I had Picante De Mariscos. The server was nice explaining the difference from the Arros Con Mariscos. I settled with spicy taste (Picante) with steamed rice on the side. The food came almost at the same time. The Peruvian food was super flavorful especially eating it with rice. The staff were nice from the host and servers. I believe that was the restaurant manager who filled water in our glasses. We had the sauce spill on the table and the other guy was nicely wiping the table. The dining room has high ceiling and the space is large enough to entertain diners. Earlier I just noticed when I pulled the seat, it touched the seat of the other table but the man was nice fixing his seat. It was not a troublesome. My friends said they don't mind returning. First time trying this location, but a big fan of Limon overall. We've never been here for brunch, but had a good experience today. Service was good- they were busy, but checked in when they could. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, although the vibe is much cuter inside. I think I'd stick with dinner at this place, but their brunch was not bad. I had the chilaquiles- which were tasty! Having been to the SF locations many times in years past, my experience of the Burlingame location a couple of times now hasn't been quite as good for some reason. Interestingly enough, I've had several friends echo this sentiment. My most recent visit was for dinner with out-of-towners and we sat inside in by the corner window. One thing we noted was how smoky the restaurant was inside and the fact they only had one of the wide sliding windows open. It also felt quite cramped and chaotic inside the restaurant. Staff seemed always in a rush when they came by, whether it was to take our order, drop our food, or deliver our check. There also seemed to be something going on as one of the staff members kept climbing up on a stand by the front door not far from our table. As for the food, it was good overall, but for some reason, the meal felt overpriced given the experience. Pros: Tasty chicken and tapas, located in downtown Burlingame Ave. Cons: Restaurant ambiance and service felt chaotic, not as good as the SF experience which makes it feel overpriced. read more

It was a cozy ambiance, but also super cute and bright, and we got seated right away despite not having a reservation. The ceviche was so flavorful and bright, it was perfect as a complement to the lomo saltado, which was saltier and heavier and flavor. Both were delicious, and I definitely want to come back to try their other menu options. The beef in the lomo saltado was a bit chewy, but otherwise it was really good. I have come here multiple times and each time they have been very consistent on their level of service, quality of food, and ambience. I would highly recomment making a reservation if you want to come during prime dinner hours. It can get pretty packed, so to minimize your chances of waiting, just go online and make a reservation. It is pretty easy to do. Their food and drinks are always on point. Some of my favorites are their ceviche which is always fresh and pairs well with their taro chips, empanadas - my favorite is the mushroom filling, and rotisserie chicken that is cooked to perfection and is so tender and packed with flavor. I recently tried their rib-eye and that was cooked to perfection as well. You can easily get enticed by their menu and make the mistake of over-ordering like my family always does, but we don't mind taking the leftovers over since the food is so delicious.
