    Arroz con mariscos

Visiting a nearby business and I find this place. Saw they served Peruvian good...my favorite. And to my surprise, the food is really really good. Definitely come and support local family owned businesses. Romi, is very attentive. Silverware was super clean and shiny.....so impressed!

I spent last Halloween night at this club and it was nothing out of the ordinary. I understand that Halloween is not the best day to stay at a club in Burlingame but since so many people were talking about this event I thought it would be different. There were no more than 40 people and all of them seemed to know each others, which made the night even more boring. Drinks are too expensive for a place like this, over $10 for a rum and coke is more than what I am willing to pay here. I left after an hour to head to the Castro in San Francisco, which I should have done instead wasting my night at at such a lousy place.

Nice floor to dance on. Variety of music. Spacious and they have a seating available.

This place is small with a really low ceiling, not a good combination for dancing Salsa...I prefer a bigger dance floor for salsa.

La Ronda in San Mateo is a great find! The service was genuinely friendly and attentive from start…read moreto finish, and the menu is impressively diverse with something for everyone (though vegetarians may have fairly limited options). The restaurant was a little more than half full when we had dinner there on a Friday night and the ambiance is lively but not loud. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious, with very generous portion sizes that left us so full (with leftovers to spare). The ceviches were bright, limey, and tart in the best way, the chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the papa rellena was especially interesting (almost like an inside-out, deep-fried baked potato) with olives and raisins that were a pleasant surprise, and the lomo saltado was as comforting and dependable as it usually is. To top it all off, they even offer Peruvian beers, which was the perfect way to wash everything down. The location is a little bit odd but easy enough to find and park (there is plenty of parking across the main street in front of the BevMo if there isn't any directly in front of the restaurant).

I was skeptical when my coworker mentioned Peruvian food because I've BEEN to Peru for two…read moreweeks, and didn't like the food there. This place really changed my mind. If this place was in the Mall it would dominate. This place is a couple blocks away, kind of hidden on a main row. Coworker got the Tallarin Salteado which was basically a steak spaghetti and she liked it a lot. They give you complimentary bread, just beware the green avocado one is spicy! It does NOT look spicy, but it is! I got the La Ronda Plate which had 3 items: combination plate of fried calamari, fish ceviche and seafood rice or seafood fried rice....everything was really good and fresh. It had flavor and really was cooked well, unlike the seafood and rice I had in Peru where my complaint was no flavor. Heck, go here and it will save you the plane fare! Got their Chicha Morada, pricey at $6.95 with purple corn pineapple & spices, I would probably not get this again because it was kind of like a bland drink to me...instead I would get their passionfruit drink next time. Both of us got their homemade flan which was a 5/5! Would definitely come back to try more dishes in the future.

A convenient and tasty food truck parked (permanently I think?) outside the Harbor Village Shoppes…read morein HMB. We tried the quesabirria tacos, lomo saltado burrito, and fried plantains. The burrito was hefty, and everything was good! The quesabirria shells seemed to hold up their crisp better than many others I've tried. Our food came out pretty fast as well. They have a few tables in front of their truck in the parking lot, and there are bathrooms inside the shopping area for convenience. A great lunch option if you're in the area. FYI, they do charge a small fee for utensils.

Great Peruvian/mexican food truck! Fresh ingredients, delicious options, and filling portions…read morepresented beautifully. Some of the hot dishes can take a bit longer, but it's clearly freshly fried and always delicious so it's worth the minor wait. Lots of picnic benches in front of the food truck. Chicharron is chunks of crispy fried pork belly - great when you want some fatty porky indulgence. The red onions pair perfectly to cut through the richness, and the Peruvian corn nuts are a fun addition! Pollo Peruana is stewed chicken thighs. Tender and fell off the bone, but could've used a bit more salt. Still tasty with a nice side salad. Lechonada peruana is stewed pork belly chunks. Fatty juicy tender, and the pork comes on a bed of saucy fries for extra heft. I like to get it with extra salad instead of rice. Super good. I really need to come by on a weekend to try the anticuchos!
