I have been here a handful of times and this place is consistently good. The service and ambience is excellent and the seafood is even better. You can't go wrong with any of their seafood but the grilled Bronzino is my favorite. First timer, just came back from Liman Restaurant, great food. Loved the pan-fried mussels appetizer and loved the st. peter fish. It was so soft and juicy, exactly what I was in the mood for. The staff was very friendly too. For anyone who has ever been in Gambrinus, the decor is very similar, and atmosphere very cozy. The menu is smaller thou, but still very good. The deserts were not the best in terms of being original, but tasted great. Came here on Saturday around 4, closer to 5 it already got very crowded. The only con might be the prices, an entree goes for around $20-27 and Appetizers mostly start from $9 and up. Over all great experience. read more

As far as turkish food is concerned this is the best around. It is also the most expensive. Emmons and South brooklyn in general has a ton of Turkish options but not as tasty as this place. The quality of the ingredients is always top notch. The food is always seasoned to perfection and the service has always been excellent from my personal experience. In the summers this place gets busy, especially on the weekend. Try and make it out on a weekday and make sure to sample all the appetizers at Liman because they are excellent (especially good for groups) . read more

This restaurant offers valet service but if a woman gets there before a man with his wife then she has to wait longer to have her car parked. Our waiter decided he didn't like us so he sent another waiter over to continue, after we had already ordered. The food was okay but the atmosphere created by the waiters- who kept changing and then giving us reasons for the changes- was dreadful. There was an immense difference between the way we were treated and other- Russian people. The food took too long to reach us despite the fact we had small children with us. I have not enjoyed dining out more than my experience with Liman's. I just got home and was so happy, that I felt inspired to write a review. I am so tired of dining out at trendy expensive tasteless places, that try way too hard but forget what is most important- LOVE and simple seasoning. Liman's gets it, and understands that you have come to their house to eat. I have never had better service, and felt their pride. Hakki our waiter, and Ata who found our seat with a beautiful view where the perfect mix of accommodating, recommending and knowing when to let us be, to just enjoy the moment... I cannot praise these two enough. Now let me get to the food... I am not easy to please, but also do not think it is asking too much to have well executed and seasoned food when dining out. After all, I do not eat out that often and feel it should be a treat and good experience. Liman's exceeded my expectations and then some! I was so pleasantly surprised and will be back soon. My husband and I went to Liman's after hearing great things about the restaurant. Initially walking in the hostes wanted to seat us between the kitchen entrance and the bar, not such a great table. I asked her for another table and she rudely replied "now you'll have to wait over a half hour". My husband then asked her to speak to the manager luckily he was standing right there. He explained to him what happened, the manager immediately found us another table in addition the waiter over heard the conversation, stepped in and told us dont worry ill take care of you guys, and so he did. The manager and waiter were really nice and friendly, the food was really delicious, the prices was fairly good considering the fish was so good. All in all besides the hostes who was rude to us the place was great. We will defiantly eat there again, hopefully they will get rid of her by then. read more

Went to Liman on Wednesday for dinner. We requested a table that has a view of the water. The restaurant was less crowded than I thought it would be since it is a very popular place. But it was a middle of the week, on top of that a lot of people must be out of town for the holidays. We ordered eggplant spread and octopus salad for appetizer and Durado and red snapper for our main courses at waiter's suggestion. The food was delicious! Vegetables and bread was fresh. Fish was cooked perfectly. I was offered to debone my fish, and the waiter did a great job. Overall experience was excellent. Very attentive service and fresh food. My wife and I went there for dinner we ordered the mussels which were a bit sandy. The waiter took them back and brought us something else. We had the grilled octopus which was really good . I had the mixed grille my wife had shrimp kebabs which also was very good . The view is very pretty since its on the water , The service was fine the place is clean. Looking at these pictures makes me think we were ripped off. Our octopus salad was delicious, but very little octopus was on the plate. Our Turkish phyllo and cheese appetizer came with only 4 (5 pictured) and they were 2/3 the size of what's pictured. We first ordered pan fried mussels for our appetizer, but after crunching a mouth full of sand and shells, we sent them back and got the phyllo cheese app. Our entrees were delicious. I joined some friends for a birthday celebration the restaurant was very crowded and noisy but the staff handled everyone very professional . We had a table in the outer room facing the water it was very nice however very noisy . We planned on getting dessert, but again we tried and couldn't get anybody's attention. The funny thing is, the restaurant was empty... it was early, but they were all over their regulars. Great unique ambiance inside makes you feel like your in a fishing boat but I prefer seats on the water but make sure to make reservations because very busy place especially when the season starts and weekends . This is my absolute favorite place to eat Mediterranean food! The food is authentic, delicious and the service is superb. We have lots of good memories in this place, we took our families there a day after our wedding, we celebrate anniversaries and birthdays there and we always bring friends and family there when they come to visit us from out of town. I love everything about this place, the decor (the place is decorated with fish nets and other sea oriented items), the smiling faces, the taste of home in the food, the area (we usually take a stroll in the marina next to the restaurant - its both beautiful and peaceful). FYI: Lots of parking but they also offer valet parking (don't give up, we never used the valet, we always find parking after a few minutes) On weekend and holidays we call ahead and make reservations - this place is very busy! read more
