I love this place! We went to the aquarium near here after riding on the subway for almost two hours to get here, hung out at the beach for a little bit, and were so hungry and ready to eat! I got chicken tenders and fries, the chicken tenders were very good, a little bit too much crispy part though. I don't mind that part though I loved them. My mom got the lobster roll and she also liked hers! After we finished our food, we were ready for dessert and we got soft serve ice cream, yummy! I loved the ice cream and the food. The vibe of the place was great, nice music playing and tables to sit at. The people were kind, I think the girl taking our order was new because she was asking her coworker about how to open up the cash register and stuff, but she did a great job! I had leftovers of the chicken tenders and I ate them the next day. Sadly, I did throw them up but I don't think it had anything to do with the food or quality of it, I was motion sick and had already been looking at my phone for a while (don't worry I wasn't driving.) One of the first places to stop to eat or drink if you're coming up from the Aquarium entrance for the Boardwalk. I was there early during the week and they were really the only ones open besides another sit down restaurant. They do have some seating here but it's first come first serve. I don't understand the subways. Running the streets with 2 teens and a small child had my nerves on level TEN. We ended up at Coney Island and I was in need of an adult beverage and a snack while the kiddos frolicked in the sand. Everything was great specially the lobster roll and shrimp, the calamari were not as soft and lacked flavor and the clam strips that felt like fried flavored flour with no filling. I wouldn't order them again. Coney Island is not famous for its high quality food and Nathan's is probably the most popular option but since I was looking for something different I found this place online and the overall experience was good, is good to have alternatives rather than average pizza slice and hotdogs. Situated right on the Coney Island boardwalk, Paul's Daughter is a ginormous walk up food stand serving up seafood and beach food favorites. Even though this is a predominately walk up style restaurant, they do offer a few tables and chairs for patrons to sit and enjoy their food. The counter layout is pretty straight forward, with several registers where you can order the menu. With that being said, there is only 1 place on the far right where you can order the raw clams (near the shucking station). Service: 4/5. The staff at Paul's was friendly, quick and efficient during our 4th July visit. We were able to belly up to the raw bar counter and order the entire menu, with our food coming out shortly after. At peak hours, lines can get a little hectic with not always the best sense of organization, but that can be said with any walk up restaurant on the boardwalk. Food: 5/5. Serving up all of your favorite beach foods, Paul's Daughter goes a great job in execution. On our lunch visit, we ordered a few corn dogs, clam strips, fries, calamari and the the raw cherry stone clams on the half shell. As to be expected, the fried foods were tasty and enjoyed by all. Perfectly friend and with generous portions. The highlight of the meal were the raw cherry stone clams. Shucked fresh to order, the clams were ginormous in size and offered a great eating experience. The clams were firm and steak like in texture but with a sweet and salty taste that some may say is more palatable than raw oysters. At $19 a dozen, not a terrible value when considering the touristy location. I was expecting this place to be pretty average based on the reviews, but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit! We ordered a dozen cherrystone clams, the lobster roll, and the calamari. The lobster roll had great flavour, the calamari had nice spices in the batter, and the cherrystone clams were actually really great - much better than ones we've had previously in Manhattan for happy hour at a place known for them. There are some nice benches with umbrellas on the side, with workers wiping the tables in between every guest which was great. We got another order of fried clams 10 minutes later. In case you don't realize, I'm saying they were excellent. 2. Then we got some beers. They have craft beers, and regular beers. Me and that Kavanaugh guy like beer. The beer is cold, and tastes good. I like drinking it while looking at the ocean and eating fried clams. 3. The hot dogs are solid, because it's tough to fuck them up. If you're only looking for dogs, I'd go to Nathan's though. 4. The dude next to me got a lobster roll, which looked surprisingly good. Not worth the time our couple of bucks. Food: Had some Corn Dogs and Lemonade. Corn dogs were OK. Not even close to the best I've ever had. Lemonade was tasteless. They should have squeezed some fresh lemon into the machine and added some sugar. It was watered down and almost tasteless. Based on these two tester items we decided to spend our money elsewhere. One of my favorite bar/restaurant on the boardwalk in Coney Island. A good amount of seats by the bar for those who prefer taking a break from the sun. I personally prefer standing in the sun and rest my drink or food on one of the many tables in front of the restaurant. They have a good selection of draft beer along with many other selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage. My favorite has to be their blue moon and you pay around $6 or so for a drink. Sweet deal! I absolutely love their golden friend shrimps, potato knish, fried calms and french fries. Good quality of food, filling, rather inexpensive and most importantly no long wait.
