Great service and food!! A true gem on coney island. The shish kebabs are fresh and delicious

Today me and my friend stopped at Petes clam stop the food was amazing. The pork kebab was so juicy and my friend said the chicken kebab was very tasty as well. The price per kebab is $10 so beware if you're on a budget however it was worth it. The service was good. It did take about 10 to 15 minutes for the kebabs to be done. The ambience of the place was not quiet so if you're looking for something quiet, then this is not the place because this is Coney Island area where they have rides and it's like a theme park. read more

I recently made a review abt how the food was good but they treat their employees like crap and fire over any offense and overwork and underpay the staff one worker confided in me. The vibe sucks it's always loud and smells like burnt smoke the atmosphere is just weird the manager is terrible my soda can had MOLD on the top and they just wiped it off and gave it back to me like what . This place sells everything and everything is good , I enjoyed a 32 oz Stella and some chicken kabobs . The kabobs were good with some bbq sauce on top and the beer was cold and refreshing in the summer heat. The service was fast and friendly considering they're super busy . I've clams at Pete's before and they were always fresh and expertly shucked. Their oysters were even better. The woman shucking them not only knew what she was doing, but threw away at least four oysters that didn't meet her standards. The six she served up for me were stunning. Set up shop near Pete's for the Mermaid Parade this year and went back there repeatedly for snacks. They were absolutely on their A game--everything was delicious! The clam strips were tasty, the pork shish kabob was perfectly tender and seasoned, the fried shrimp was nice and fresh (the batter was nice and light so you could really taste the shrimp), and the potato knish with onions was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. This is no longer Pete's Clam Stop. It's under new ownership. The menu now consists of fried calamari, pizza and other unremarkable things. You won't get seafood here. Nor is this place on the boardwalk. The clientele? Old barflies who probably drive the pretty waitress crazy with harassment. In all fairness, what you would expect in Coney Island. Let's face it - a classy destination Coney Island ain't. There is one clam dish at the "New Pete's", baked clams, and I'm sure they're good, but when we went there, they didn't have them. That's right - didn't have clams. With no other seafood options on the menu, we left and opted for Nathan's on the boardwalk (note here that the one on Surf and Stillwell is better). If you are looking to get shit-faced, however, and party with guys past their primes but full of stories, this is your spot. It would have been great if the new management had kept the Pete's menu. Six clams pulled from under the ice and shucked right in front of you for $6.50, includes lemon wedges, choice of tabasco or red-hot, and you can hit up a bit of some old horseradish from a community bowl. The only place I'll go for Coronas and oysters in Coney Island!! It is a cash only spot with 4 tables and chairs on the inside and outside seating as well. They also have a bathroom to use. They offer different kinds of beer and other variety of food like chicken fingers, fries etc! I always get Coronas and oysters! read more

My second visit in 7 years, friendly staff and oysters are fantastic. We also had the fried clams which were better than any ever had, not greasy, wonderful batter, and generous portion. Very clean, only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the washroom which could use a serious overhaul. A great plus is a nice selection of local craft beers. read more

This by far my favorite place in coney island ! They have a great selection of food, the oysters and clams are fresh and chucked right in front of you and it is only a few steps away from the beach. Came here to cap off a day at the amusements with my daughter. I got a half a dozen little neck clams on the half shell..price was fair, clams were fresh, but the horse radish was not hot at all. The food left a ton to be desired, maybe this is Brooklyn local cuisine but I would definitely suggest trying anywhere else. Had some tasty, cheap oysters here on a hot Saturday afternoon. We had come looking for fried clams, which they don't have, so these were the next best thing. We felt a little strange eating raw shellfish from a shack like this one, but all but one of the bivalves tasted perfectly fresh. These are some of the cheapest oysters in NYC, so I think that we would definitely come back if we were in the neighborhood again. read more
