There is a serious swing of reviews here. Either its love or hate with little in between. I'll be the middle guy. I've dropped by here a few times for a cold beer after a race on the boardwalk to cool down and relax in the sun. They have a small but decent enough beer list, from Coney Island pilsner to Bud, to Kona Big Wave and a few others all under $10. Also, some canned beers such as High Noon and Goose Island IPA. I skip eating here as most of the menu is unhealthy but they do have some healthy things such as a few salads and fruit bowls. I've found the service here to also be ok. read more

This was my first time here and they had similar choices to the rest of the boardwalk but also some unique items like the shrimp tacos I had. My friend ordered the chicken tenders and fries which were good and the fries were fresh cut and crispy. The food came out quickly and we were able to snag a table since people were leaving. I loved the shrimp tacos they were big and stuffed and the flavor was delicious just a bit messy as I ended up with sauce all over my hands! I also enjoyed the coleslaw that cane with it but it could have used a little pepper. Would definitely come again. read more

I ordered a cheese omelette, which had zero cheese in it burnt and served over a bunch of undercooked potatoes ordered a side of curly fries under seasoned and overdone. $25 later it was disgusting. The loaded fries were $10 but they came with A LOT of fries. The nachos were $11 but they were cold. You can grab a bite here if you're hungry but it's overpriced and poor quality. Most of the restaurants look like they have basic burgers, hot dogs, etc. that are overpriced. The drinks looked good but expensive. A small beer $8... This is by far the BEST spot on the boardwalk in Coney Island. The quality and freshness of the food is excellent. I had a fresh salad (with mixed greens, not romaine or iceberg). My husband and son had chicken tenders and hand cut fries. We also had a watermelon/feta/mint salad. Everything was DELICIOUS. On a busy day, we were able to order quickly, and our food came right out. I wasn't able to partake, but they have creative mixed drinks and frozen drinks. The cheesesteak was the worst thing we've ever been served at any "restaurant". The whole sandwich was cold, the bread was completely stale and the meat was clumpy and dry and cold. It tasted like it was made yesterday and just sitting around. This was a terrible excuse for a sandwich especially for $15. They also have the "suggested tip" set at 20% and tell you to sign, so if you're not paying attention you'll get robbed for a tip and no one is even serving you. read more

We were hungry after watching the hot dog contest and decided with the crazy lines at Nathan's, we needed something different. We come to Coney island quite a bit and noticed that this place had reopened with a new name. Hey let's do it! We went inside and were greeted by the servers moving around at a feverish pace. The decor is simple, clean, nautical, shrimp shanty with its white tables with splashes of royal blue. You pretty much can sit anywhere, order from the table and pay in cash or you can walk up to the counter and pay with cards. Mixed drinks were a little pricier that I expected,, but beers were priced okay. We decided on a beer, a soda, and a order of fish and chips. Everything is cooked to order so it took about 15 minutes for the food to come out. The fries were actually really good it was cut potatoes! The fish was pretty decent but it needed to be in the fryer a little longer (there was a little residual wet batter) so I ended up taking half of the food home for the next day. All in all, this was great! Our whole bill including the tip was under $30. We know we can pick up something tasty when we come back over the warm months. Thanks guys! read more

I've been wanting to try out this place for a while now and I have been here twice (once just for soda) and recently for the steak tacos and the blue Hawaiian drink. In the two times I've come here, the staff has been rude. They are not friendly at all. The steak tacos were not very good. They have flavor but the steak was very rubbery and hard to chew. The blue Hawaiian was very good. My reason for wanting to try here was due to the fact it looked like such a relaxing place to visit. I recently had two deaths in my family and decided to come to coney to clear my mind. I will try here again but only for drinks. I don't think the food is worth it. Tried to have a large private event but the management refused to work with us on pricing for drink packages. Poor customer service. The group drink packages were overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. This is too bad. The location is great and our group previously held events there with the prior management that were a success. I had a terrible experience at this establishment. I visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and ordered a lemonade and a Philly cheesesteak. When I placed my order at the counter, the server tried to add his own 20% tip without my consent. I sat at a table but had to get up to grab some napkins. When I returned, a gust of wind blew my $16 sandwich off the table before I could even take a bite. I cleaned up the mess myself as the staff watched without offering any help. When I brought the incident to the attention of what seemed to be the manager, he callously informed me that I would have to pay for another sandwich. Great place to hang out on the boardwalk and slam 8 dollar Coney island beers.there is also additional seating in the rear and restrooms. The staff is friendly and very efficient, lines do get long but what the hell Coney island is crowded. The bartender was horrible. There were only two people waiting ahead of me and he managed to take about 20 minutes with them. Flirted with the first customer (an older lady). Then for the 2nd customer he concocted an unsolicited, unnecessarily complicated drink that involved putting mini marshmallows on top and roasting them...except he aimed the flambe gun towards the customer and fired it. Thankfully the gun wouldn't light and he had to take it elsewhere to do it. Was rude and brusque when he got to me (probably because he was embarrassed about his ineptness). Repeatedly ignored my request for a plastic fork. This is not the only establishment on the boardwalk that serves cocktails - would highly recommend going somewhere else.
