Sooooo we make this trek all the time mainly for the frog legs but always get hot dogs also. Also they have a sweet older gentleman that is like a maitre D & personal waiter. There's just nothing like a Nathan's hot dog. It's obviously not upscale dining, but it's classic, comforting, and exactly what you want it to be. I've been here countless times. I love their chili cheese dog and the corn dog nuggets, but you really can't go wrong with a regular hot dog topped with sauerkraut and mustard. They used to have an orange cream milkshake that I loved, please bring it back! I can't be too critical of the service, especially during the summer when the line can stretch nearly into the street and the staff is handling a thousands of orders. That said, a handful of times, I've had employees go out of their way to be especially friendly and helpful, which I always appreciate. Very disappointing experience at Nathan's. On a non-busy day, no line whatsoever, we waited over 40 minutes for our food while our server, Luis, repeatedly assured us it was coming. Unfortunately, the order never arrived. After finally escalating the issue to the manager, the solution offered was to refund the order and then give us the opportunity to place the same order again--and pay for it again. After already spending 40 minutes waiting, this was far from an acceptable resolution. Mistakes happen, but what truly matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. I ordered 2 plain hot dogs, 2 chili cheese dogs, 1 chili jalapeño dog, and 3 drinks -- somehow it came to $63. I asked the cashier for my receipt and my order number, and she just said, "I'll call you." She kept taking orders, and instead of starting my order first, she kept preparing smaller orders from people who ordered after me. I understand my order was bigger, but when you're first in line, you shouldn't have to watch 3 other orders get made before yours even starts. After waiting around 15 minutes, she finally called my name. When I checked the order, one plain hot dog was missing. I politely told her I ordered two plain dogs, but she immediately got defensive and insisted I only ordered one. Since she never gave me a receipt, I had no way to double-check. Instead of checking the register or reprinting the receipt, she just argued about it. She also handed us our drinks without straws and acted annoyed when I asked for them. To make things worse, my wife needed to use the restroom, but the doors were closed. When she asked about another restroom, the manager overheard the conversation and simply said they were open, even though they clearly weren't, then walked away without helping. At that point, I ended up walking across the street to White Castle and ordering two burgers just to replace the missing hot dog from my order. Honestly, Joey Chestnut ate 63 hot dogs in about 10 minutes. I seriously doubt whoever was helping me would've even prepared them in that amount of time. For a place as iconic as Nathan's Famous, I honestly expected much better customer service. The employee looked like she didn't want to be there, and the whole experience ruined the excitement of finally visiting. After a cold trip to the aquarium, we decided to stop by and grab a late lunch. A short line and a few standing and sitting tables on the side. We ordered 4x original hot dogs, 2x new englands, 1x lobster bisque, and fries. We had the sautéed onions and sauerkraut on the side and we were given an ample amount! The hot dogs are big, and satisfied our appetites but weren't really anything special. The soups were such large portions for $10. I had the lobster bisque, and it was decent - buttery and viscousy. The hot dogs and the bisque were definitely filling. It was a trip down memory lane, used to visit another Nathan's more as a child but haven't done so in many years. We went to Coney Island today, very excited to eat at Nathan's hotdogs. The food was fantastic, after we finally got it. The order peocess seemed rushed. It seemed obvious the cashier didn't eat there. We got our food piecemealed, they forgot our water and ranch. Asking for it was like asking for gold. The first manager just walked off, after asking me three times what I wanted. Ranch is not hard. Diana, the other supervisor said her name was terry (who actually knows). Being honest they were both just rude. Despite the amazing food, I would never return. In all my trips to tourist locations, I don't think anyone has been that rude. The Nathan's at the New York, New York hotel in Las Vegas, NV DOES NOT compare. My daughter and I shared a hot dog with raw onions and sauerkraut, and we added mustard and ketchup. We also got chili fries with crinkle-cut fries. Everything was really good. The chili cheese on the fries had lots of flavor. It was so good that my daughter, who usually doesn't like hot dogs or fries, actually ate both and liked them! We also had orangeade, which was really refreshing and had just the right amount of ice and soda. A little tip: the kiosk line wasn't really faster. There were only two screens, and the reflections on the screen made it hard to see. The ordering system was a bit confusing, and it seemed like everyone, including us, was learning how to use it. I noticed people in the regular line ordered ahead of us and got their food almost right away. The service was kind of mixed. Some people who ordered after us got their food first, while others who ordered before us had to wait about 10-15 minutes longer. Nathan's is right on the boardwalk, so there are no tables or seats. It's 100% overpriced and touristy, but you can't help but still line up with everyone else. There are two lines: hot dog on your right, burgers and seafood on your left. We opted for the classic and got into the right line to order. I had the Jalapeño Bacon Cheese Dog ($7.99) and Loaded Onion Rings ($7.99). They give you lots of jalapeños, but they're raw so didn't add much flavor. The hot dog was just a basic hot dog really. I did enjoy the onion rings as they gave a good amount. Both items had me really full though, so it was a good meal. The boyfriend got 2 Plain Hot Dogs for $5.99 each, which is insanely overpriced when you think about how Costco's hot dog is only $1.50 with a drink.
