Talk about the cheesiest Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. Came yesterday to the Timeout Market on Ann outing and one of the places we stopped to eat at was Jacob's Pickles. I ended up getting the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. The sandwich on the corn bread was delicious. Pickled were tasty and that Mac and cheese was fantastic. Mexican crew who cooked the food were very nice and Colombian cashier was very friendly. We ate upstairs and had a good time there was no live music this time.
This was my first time ordering from here. The sandwiches are large, perfect for sharing, which is what I did. Prefers the honey chicken sandwich. Now, I'm not a pickle girlie, but I ate every last one on this sandwich, then chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried, the biscuit was moist and yummy the fries were gold as well. Service was fine and the area was clean. The meal is pricey, but it it a fairly large portion in regard to the sandwich.
Fried chicken was a bit dry and wish this came with an extra side of sauce. There wasn't anything special with the Caesar salad that would differentiate from other restaurants. Love the location, but would try another vendor next time.
Super filling, fast service and well worth the money. Located in a food court and easy to spot. My kids were able to split the smothered chicken biscuit with pepper jack cheese and their amazing Mac and cheese! They loved it!
OH MY GOOOOODNESSSSS So I went for a walk to Dumbo to get some Jacob's Pickles.... I ordered 2 bowls of honey chicken and one buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken was not Buffalo at all it was super sweet???!!!! WTH is going on? Did they not know what Buffalo chicken is????? 4/10 rating I will say the chicken was good but guess what they were lacking in the honey chicken which was $17.00 plus tax??? THE FREAKING HONEY!!!! WTH!!!!!!!!!! I'm pissed off that I paid $34.00 plus tax for honey chicken and no HONEY!!!!!! If I do go here again make sure you check your food before you leave to make sure you are getting your money worth!!!!! When I first went here they loaded the chicken with honey and the bread( the biscuit) would be soaked NOW THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!! Again the chicken is good the lack of honey not in the bowl is pure ridiculousness with loads of pickles????? I was very unhappy with this very expensive purchase!!!! This is over $54.00 plus tax... The service was ok The ambiance is cozy My rating is 4/10
The service at Time Out Market makes ordering different food with friends convenient. You don't have to get up from your seat, and on a weekday night, there was plenty of seating. It wasn't too crowded or loud. I deconstructed the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, since it was so big. The biscuit wasn't soggy with sauce, and the cheese complemented the biscuit's flavor. I wish there was more of a cheese flavor. The chicken was also crispy.
Delicious, hot and fresh food! Great portions for the price too. Order at their counter, find a seat, and wait for your number to be called. The food came out fairly quick. The Mac and cheese was the star of the meal. So cheesy and creamy! The chicken was a little overly breaded in my opinion. However it tasted great and paired perfectly with the pickles and biscuit.
This was a solid restaurant in the Time Out Market. Food came out quickly and freshly hot. Delicious honey chicken and pickles. I was a bit disappointed by the biscuit; it didn't really have any texture. I would still come back for their chicken and would love to try their mac & cheese next time.
OMG!! Was this place delicious! We've been wanting to visit since we saw it on IG. And we were not disappointed! The meals were hearty, and absolutely delicious! Cannot wait to visit again to try out their chicken and gravy! My wife and I agreed that next time we'll share a plate as there was so much to eat! Especially with their side orders being amazing! We were able to sit alongside their clean counter space which was a treat in itself, as we were able to watch the employees making the food from scratch! It was amazing to see how efficient they were! If you love chicken you DO NOT want to miss this spot! See you soon!
We were hungry while in the area and also wanted to check out the market as well. While perusing, Jacob's Pickles caught our eye. We came on a busy weekend so it was hard to find seating. The food took a bit of time as well (likely given how busy the whole place was). Overall the food was good but maybe a bit overpriced? Still enjoyed the experience!
After walking the Brooklyn Bridge, we decided to check out the Time Out Market. After making a full round of the food stands in the market, we could not help but to stop by Jacob's Pickles. It is an order and sit place. Just a counter top with a few counter stools. Since everything looks heavy, my friend and I decided to split a sandwich combo so we can have the best of both the sandwich and the Mac and cheese. We decided on the hot honey chicken sandwich and pickles. Our order were quickly taken and we sat down at the booth while waiting for our food. The Mac and cheese was freshly made to order with all the sauces ready to prep. It looked amazing as the cook prepare the Mac and cheese. He also assembled the sandwich and the sauces were amazing. I think we go the pieces of chicken that were made earlier because it came lukewarm which would be my own disappointment. I would order both again but that Mac and cheese is highly recommended. I would want to make sure the fried chicken is freshly out of the fryer.
Very happy with Jacob's Pickles at the DUMBO Time Out Market. Get ready for some very large portions. They assemble and bake all Mac & Cheese orders on the spot and create some interesting combinations, the Hot Honey Crispy Chicken combo is a huge win. The service is great, quick and friendly.

With so many delicious food stalls in here, I stumbled upon Jacob's Pickles as the presentation looked incredibly delicious. The Food: I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit Sandwich Combo with a side of Mac N Cheese. I can tell you, from the plates I see being served to others, you will be in a food coma right after the meal! The fried chicken itself was cooked to perfection. Nice layer of crunchy skin, and tender meat that just break apart so easily. The meat was also very juicy and flavorful. They had the Nashville hot seasoning down to a T. The Mac N Cheese was also a star player here. The pasta cooked well and the cheese combined together made it perfect. Right amount of gooey cheese that made every bite worth it. The Service: Service was great! Ordered at the kiosk and waited for my order. Wasn't long before I was called to pick up mine for to go. Staff are nice and friendly as well. The Atmosphere: Since it was a food stall, can't speak too much on it's own atmosphere. But they do have a bar area in front of their kitchen for you to eat. Not that much seating, so you may need to find another spot up or downstairs. Overall, 5/5. Chicken cooked perfectly with incredible flavor. I'd highly giving this place a try.

We are on a tour and decided to stop at Time Out. It was super busy, very packed, just too many people that we're used to! Lol However, we were able to get a seat at the counter. Food didn't take long at all. I ordered the chicken, chicken wrap and Mac and cheese. This was actually the best chicken I've had! Piping hot out of fryer, seasoned well and super tender. The Mac was also the best I've had from a restaurant too! read more

This was my first time ordering from here. The sandwiches are large, perfect for sharing, which is what I did. Prefers the honey chicken sandwich. Now, I'm not a pickle girlie, but I ate every last one on this sandwich, then chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried, the biscuit was moist and yummy the fries were gold as well. Service was fine and the area was clean. The meal is pricey, but it it a fairly large portion in regard to the sandwich. read more
Fried chicken was a bit dry and wish this came with an extra side of sauce. There wasn't anything special with the Caesar salad that would differentiate from other restaurants. Love the location, but would try another vendor next time. read more

Had a good time trying Jacob's pickles in timeout market! The menu is relatively simple so it was easy to order for those who have decision paralysis. Decided to get the chicken sandwich and made it a combo with waffle fries and Mac and cheese. Came on a weekday during lunch so the ordering was fast and it wasn't too crowded but the weekend is most likely a different story. Everything about the food was really good from the chicken to the sides even down to the pickles! The portion size is huge so you are getting a pretty good deal! The only downside is that the biscuit gets quite soggy so it is almost impossible to eat it sandwich style. Timeout market gets pretty busy so finding a seat was hard and it could get quite loud in there. read more

My sister & I went to Time Out Market March 30th on a Sunday, it was moderately busy. It was not too brightly lit in there just enough to make it seem as though you're at the actual restaurant. We opted to sit by the bar since it was directly attached to the restaurant. I came for Clinton Baking St. but it had the longest line so I decided to get Jacobs Pickle instead. I am familiar with their sister restaurant (Maison Pickle) but never tried Jacobs pickle. My sister ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Ceasar Salad with a lemonade which she fully enjoyed. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. The server asked if I wanted a side order of Mac and cheese instead of a full portion and I was glad she did. The side order of was more than enough, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish the full portion. It had a good flavor and was piping hot, just as it should be. My sandwich was honestly phenomenal! It came with two big pieces of chicken, evenly seasoned and the honey I added with each bite... just utter perfection. But the pickles.... they were the star of the show!! I don't even like pickles so that is very telling. They were tangy but spicy, I'm assuming they were made to complement the sandwiches flavors exactly. I wish I ordered a jar of it to go, I was that impressed with the flavor. I only wish the bun was built to withstand the huge pieces of chicken but that's only a minor flaw. When you're devouring this, you won't even think about that! The portions for the food served is quite large so it works for another meal later. We got the hot honey chicken and I enjoyed the flavor. I didn't like the taste of the pickles though but might be just me. They prepare the food at a reasonable time. At the Time Out Market, you have to find your own seating and bus your tray when you're done. read more

I had been here prior and didn't love it but I'm glad I gave them a second chance. The portion sizes are HUGE for the price point. Me and a friend each got a hot honey chicken sandwich combo and we easily could have split it. The Mac and cheese was so good - tasted super cheddar-y lol. The sandwich came with two huge pieces of perfectly fried chicken and the pickles added a nice crunch and flavor. Staff were friendly and the lemonade was great as well. Definitely would return. read more

So many choices at the Time Out Market. My friends and I were looking around for pizza but came across this place which had fried chicken. I Ordered the Nashville chicken (spicy sauce) said the spicy sauce is a 7/10 but is really good with honey so I ordered that and it was delish! I love a lot of my food spicy but the mix of spice and honey was soo soo good. read more
Jacob's Pickles was the only spot that caught my eye inside the Time Out Market. I ordered the Fried Chicken Caesar Salad ($15) and Hubs ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The salad was delicious but massive. It had 2 huge slabs of fried chicken on top with a side of a biscuit. I was able to eat what I think was a third of it. Hubby also went for some but was full from eating his entire sandwich. We also ordered a side of pickles which didn't really stick out for me. They were sour and crunchy as I had expected but not worth an entire side. So why did I drop some stars? I had to toss the remaining salad which hurt my heart and wallet. I wish they would offer smaller portions. As much as I would have loved to share the salad, the hubby wanted to try something entirely different. read more
While in NYC I decided to stop by Jacob's Pickles at Time Out Market. The market is the perfect location if you want the same great food experience as the main location on Amsterdam without the worry of long wait times and crowds. I was in the mood for the Southern Fried Chicken Ceasar Salad and it did NOT disappoint. The salad greens were plentiful, tasty, and fresh. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of batter with a crunchy texture. The ceasar dressing was creamy and full of flavor. And lastly, the homemade lemonade was good. If you ask me, I would love added a few more sprinkles of sugar to balance out the acidity. All in all, I regret not ordering the Mac and cheese, but do know I'll be back for that soon. read more

Wow wow wow this chicken n pickles was delicious. The chicken was tender, little crunch with the crisp outside of chicken with the honey was awesome. My girlfriend said mmmmm good about 15 times while eating. She loved everything especially how much pickles was given. - My girl said it is the best Mac n cheese she has ever tasted. It is damn near for me too and can't choose if it's #1 or #2 max n cheese I have eaten. It's really good. You can have for extra honey on the side which is awesome. read more

TIP: If you're ordering a sandwich for takeout, see if you can request that the bun be packaged separately so it doesn't get soggy. The size of my hot honey chicken sandwich was outrageously large and super delicious. There were two huge slabs of chicken and a very generous amount of pickles. The sweet to spicy ratio was maybe a little too high. This is a small nitpick though, overall it was amazing regardless and I would be happy to get this again. Service was quick. I came on a Monday afternoon and there was no line to order. I got my food after 10 minutes. The only reason for knocking off a star is due to the way my takeout order was packaged. I recommend that they package the bun separately as the bottom bun soaked up the steam from the warm chicken and the hot honey, and disintegrated by the time I ate it 5 minutes later. I got my order to-go despite eating in because I anticipated having to box up leftovers, and even that short period of time was enough to make it so that I could no longer hold up the bun and had to eat my sandwich with a fork and knife. I can't imagine how soggy the bun would be had I commuted elsewhere before eating. read more
Reminds me of Howlin' Ray's, in the best way possible. Inside Time Out Market, a curation of activities, the food market showcases meals that can skip a beat. While the walkways might feel crowded, it was actually slowing me down to analysis each stall carefully. The next thing you know, I was in-line to order one of the best fried chicken in town. A crispy battered chicken that is bathed in Nashville Hot Sauce can make all your taste buds dance. And of course, the pickles. The pickles are worth mentioning about because the acidity and crisp ties it all together. Though I was skeptical of the bread looking boring, it actually worked out in my sandwich - mac and cheese combo. Totally worth ~$23 for a combo deal. Note, the mac and cheese can not be upgraded in the combo deal, but the simple mac and cheese is still elegant. While you're at it, grab some spicy mayo when you pick-up your order, because there can never be enough sauce. Parking around this area can be difficult. I would suggest taking the subway, bringing your wallet to pay for garage parking, or your patience to look for street parking (basically $6 for two hours that is quite impossible to find). read more

The chicken was phenomenal, like I'm talking really really good...but gave me food poisoning. I know this because it was the only thing different I ate than the people I was with the whole day. Honestly great chicken but just make sure it's not undercooked or left out too long because I was cooked for 24 hours. read more

$15 for chicken sando and $9 pickles plus tax to $26 total Chicken sandwich was great. Crispy and great chicken breast portion size. There were only 6 or 7 pieces of fried pickles and the pickles piece was sooooo small. Pic for reference. Sorely disappointed since it was $9 which is outrageous. All the fried pickles pieces doesn't even cumulate to a general pickle size like the pickles on a stick size. It was like maybe half of that if even. One star deducted for the fries. I would come again for the sando but the prices went up from a few months ago. It went from 13 to 15$. read more

We opted ending our bus tour in Dumbo, Brooklyn instead of Coney Island. It was a beautiful day but hot. We entered the TimeOut Market for lunch. It was a food court and there were many food vendors to choose from. We ended in a Southern Comfort food. We sat right by the counter and we saw how they prepared and cooked the food. We ordered the Fried Pickles, Classic Mac & Cheese and Mushroom Gravy Smothered Chicken. In the beginning my husband liked the Mac n Cheese but later on he was tasting it was rich and spicy. The chicken was good but rich in gravy. It had a kick of mild spice too. We enjoyed the fried pickles for the first time trying it. We had the lemon drink in a tetra pack. We found their prices were expensive. The staff service was fine. If we will be in Dumbo TimeOut Market in the future, we will try another food vendor. read more

The pickles, man. Don't forget the pickles. I eat, maybe, 2-3 pickles every six months. They're not a common food in my household. But damn, these saturated cukes make me think that Peter pickling peppers posed a problem. Pickles should pepper Peter with propositions to pickle pickles because pickles perform perfectly when pickled. This place is worth checking out for the massive portions and great food. The best mac n cheese I ever had was at Jacob's Pickles in Time Out Market. The buffalo chicken mac n cheese was $14 for such a large portion, it took me both lunch and dinner in order to eat the whole thing. This was a good deal compared to the other food vendors in Time Out Market. Even though I did not try their signature chicken sandwich I know it would also be delicious because the chicken inside of the mac n cheese was out of this world! So tender and flavorful! I got their sweet tea as well. It was equally as impressive that it was all so good since we are not in the south. read more
I haven't slept the same since getting their Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese. I still dream about the cheese pull and how delicious this mac and cheese was. The penne holds the sauce and cheese so well and pairs perfectly with the buffalo chicken. I didn't get a pickle but I could only imagine how delicious it would be to have refreshing bites of pickle in between decadent bites of mac and cheese. read more

If you're in a bit of a pickle trying to figure out where to eat, Jacob's Pickles can be a reliable option. Their location at the Time Out Market operates very simply: essential options, quick service, pleasant conversation the whole way through. I ordered the chicken sandwich with sausage gravy and the fried Oreos. For $15, I was wondering how much could go into one sandwich. Believe me when I say you absolutely do get what you pay for. Two thick patties of chicken and a generous heap of gravy between what felt like an entire loaf of fluffy and rich biscuits certainly fulfilled me in terms of the value. The chicken was a bit salty for my taste, but it definitely held significant flavor and texture. The gravy also delivered when it comes to the sensory experience: I especially appreciated how milky and savory it was. Not too runny, not too clumpy. When it comes to the biscuits, I felt that they would excel as a nice Sunday morning breakfast. They did everything right when it comes to baking them, so if you take your time to bite with intention and to enjoy every chew I'm sure you'll find yourself in another place completely. The fried Oreos exceeded my expectations as well. From the looks of it, I thought they were going to come with a strong crunch as most fried Oreos (and fried foods for that matter) do. However, the bite was pretty soft and the entire thing almost melted in my mouth. That sensation along with the cool and sweet whipped spread completely changed my perspective on fried Oreos. I wouldn't be surprised if people came to Jacob's Pickles just for the fried Oreos. Overall, I think this place is certainly worth visit if you're not gravely concerned about your blood pressure. It gives cheat day, but in the form of a quick and memorable affair. read more
