Came here before catching a show at the Brooklyn Paramount, and was blown away by how delicious and filling the fried chicken and friend fish buns were. The first thing we noticed were how fresh they were - service was helpful and we watched our orders being made after we ordered (vs just reheating already made sandos). Then once we got the sandos - it made us laugh how small the buns were compared to the giant slabs of fish and chicken! Both were cooked perfectly and perfectly paired with the accompanyaments (the spicy papaya slaw on the chicken was divine). It is also conveniently located in DeKalb Market, so there is bound to be something that could satisfy each of your companions tastes if they mistakenly choose to pass this up. While they do have some reserved seating, it also means you can find somewhere to sit within the food hall. Will be back again!

First of all, I want to say how surprised I was seeing how this place is Halal, which I think is the one place in Dekalb market that provides such option. I had the 6 pieces chicken nuggets with spicy fries, and the outcome was amazing. The nuggets were big in shape, very filling and juicy; every bite was tasty. The fries had a great spice kick to it and were soft. However, ONE thing that need IMRPOVEMENT is the serving style. Being served with 2 brown bags like this, isnt a good representation of the place. At least have a box style like other competitors or something else.

This isn't your typical Thai spot - it's even better! I took a trip to the Dekalb Market Hall strictly for Baby's Buns & Buckets after seeing a few videos circling social media & I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to the rave reviews! Specializing in bao buns and yes, food that comes in buckets, I knew I had to get a bucket for the fatty garlic rice. The rice was immensely flavorful, and for someone who doesn't *love* white rice, I finished every grain of this garlicky, salty goodness. It perfectly complimented the fish & salad that came with the bowl, providing a nice contrast to the plain leafy greens. The fish was crispy and perfectly seasoned, reminding me of dishes my family has made in the past. What I love about this stall is that it isn't your typical Thai cuisine that most people know and love, there's a lot of aspects of it that are very similar to home cooked meals that restaurants don't typically serve (with an Americanized spin). You won't find your traditional pad thai here, and I love that every layer of the bucket has flavor. Combine great food with a great atmosphere (hello, the neon lights are beautiful!!) and you have Baby's Buns & Buckets. I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu, and can't wait for others to discover this hidden gem amongst the chaos of downtown Brooklyn!

I really enjoyed how cute and kitschy this stall is. I ordered the chicken nugget bucket. It came with steamed rice, cabbage carrots and greens. It was enough for two servicing Quite tasty and sauce wasn't very needed I actually really liked the flavor of the rice more than the chicken. I want to come back for the fried fish sandwich. Service is pretty great but not over the top. The cashier takes your order and patrons just wait until it's ready There is seating for up to three people at the stall.

Wowowow Baby's Buns has to take the top spot for best food stall in Dekalb Market. The food and service are equally excellent and I just love their story. Another viral business that deserves all the hype! My husband and I visited for dinner a couple of weeks ago and shared: - Baby's Bucket ($18) - probably my favorite dish of the night and a generous portion size for sure - Small chicken nuggets ($6) - Small fish nuggets ($6) - Fried chicken bun ($8) - Large papaya slaw ($12) - loved this fusion of papaya salad and cole slaw. Such a tasty and refreshing side Now I'm not sure if we were getting full or what, but the "small" sized nuggets felt like they had way more than 6 pcs in each order! (We didn't keep count as we were eating - if they threw some extras for us wow thank you we love you) The portions just felt huge and everything was so good. Loved both the chicken and fish - can't even choose one over the other. And of course the grilled honey pork in Baby's Bucket was mouth wateringly delicious. One of the owners took our order and she was so helpful and friendly. We can't wait to return.

Women owned and minority owned . I ordered the fried fish bun on the regular size bun and my friend got the fried chicken bun. The wait was about 5-10mins which wasn't long at all. The service was fast and she recommended us to get the bigger buns. Now let's get to the best part the fish was fish I think they just caught this fish today. The batter was seasoned. I like to eat everything as original so I didn't get any ketchup etc which it didn't need. The garlic chili sauce and garlic mayo was dancing in my mouth yummmm. Every bite the flavors was introducing themselves to me over and over "Hey my name is garlic chili sauce". The ambiance is chill cool it is located in a market place with several different restaurants. They have seats for you to sit down and eat . I recommend this restaurant I will be back to try the fish bucket!!!!

    The spot

the chicken is delicious hot right out the grease into the bucket taste no special flavor just plain chicken, but I don't understand they asked me do you want spicy fries? I say yes spicy fries taste like nothing but salt just they gave me 2 cups of one mayonnaise and one chili spicy sauce on the side. I would not buy it again totally pricey and not unusual taste. Taste it's like regular chicken that you fry and put no seasoning on it not like Thai chicken to me. Maybe I gotta go to Thailand.

Delicious food, large portions, friendly service. It's located in the Dekalb Market hall so table service is not the setting but the staff at the counter is helpful in explaining the different dishes and offering suggestions based on your taste. There are a few seats next to the shop with reservation signs specifically for Baby's Buns customers. As for the food here- it's well orchestrated and you can tell made with love. Flavors abound and quality is fresh. Chicken Sandwiches, Chicken with Rice and veggies bucket , pork and vegetarian (mushroom) options available. I had the honey pork with sticky rice ,so flavorful. The pork was slightly sweet and was more of a leaner pork belly - so damn good. We also tried the fried chicken with fatty rice. Seasoned and fried to perfection. Definitely get the Papaya SlawailI bought extra to go and ate all of before I even left. The food here is like home cooked Thai food that my friends grangrandparents used to make when I had playdates at their house. Comforting. The chicken is also Halal if you're seeking that. The food hall is quite noisy ,as it is in a basement but the atmosphere is cheerful . Depending on the time of day it can get quite crowded. Ordering ahead is available. When I checked in on Yelp I got an offer for a free drink.

Baby's Buns serves tasty, Thai inspired street food. The sliders are filled with juicy meat and served with fluffy buns. The coleslaw on the chicken slider was seasoned perfectly, neither too sweet nor to tart. The fried mushrooms are a great alternative as side to traditional fries, though they were a little too juicy inside for my taste. Service was on time for my online order, and the takeout box was perfect for transporting the buns and limiting mess in the busy dining area of the food court.

Absokutely loved this for a quick grab! The pork belly buns: 8.5/10 The seasoning tasted almost like korean fried chicken or bulgogi seasoning? Very good but definitey messy to eat! Fish bucket: 9/10 Pretty filling. Has veggies and rice, which really makes it a whole meal on its own!

BABY'S GOT BUNS!!! And they are tasty. Went to the Dekalb Market Hall and out of all the options there, Baby's was the only one offering free samples WITH sauce. So we grabbed a bite and it had us hooked. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the fries with their spicy seasoning were perfection. The chicken rice bowl sealed the deal. Thank you to our cashier who kindly took our order and prepared our samples. I'm so glad we gave Baby's a try. It was worth it.

My latest food obsessions include their fish nuggets and garlic chili sauce & their spicy Thai fries with garlic mayo. Chef's kiss. The fatty rice was ok but the Thai fries are really THE MOVE.

I think I possibly just ate the best fish sandwich of my life, Top 5 worthy for sure! It checked off all the boxes, texture, ingredient ratio, balance of sweet savory and spicy. I literally ate 2 back to back and came the next day for another. Either it's voodoo spells in the recipe or I'm just a gorging smuck. Run away!! This thing can possess your taste buds at night, Im ready to leave the wife and kids for whomever the hell is making this fish sandwich! Also I met the 3 sisters / owners and they were the dopest, kindest, sweetest souls! They got some of grams recipes doing magic! Show em some love!

Our group of 4 started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a few appetizers to share, namely: Som tum papaya salad and dumplings curry. For the main entree, my eyes caught the attention of clay pot mix-fried rice with shrimp, chicken, sweet sausage, and my partner chose shrimp pad thai. Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here; our food came in timely fashion, and the customer service is good as well, but it's probably not your place if you are seeking a more authentic Thai-style cooking.

PLEASE get the mango stick rice cocktail omg it was gone in like 5 sips because it was so good. The tuna ceviche was so refreshing and the sauce had a little kick to it which I absolutely loved! It was like a sprinkle of Thai on a classic tuna ceviche. Note the taro chips are a little thicker than a typical chip! The pork jowl wasn't as crispy as I expected but it was still flavorful and the portion size was huge, considering how it was an appetizer. We got pineapple lychee crispy duck, crab fried rice, and kana crispy pork over rice as our entree. ALL WERE SO GOOD! The curry for the pineapple lychee crispy duck was so creamy and flavorful, with the duck portion being huge and being the perfect texture. I loved that it was crispy and didn't get soggy fast in the curry. The crab fried rice was top tier as there were SO MANY HUGE CRAB PIECES!! You can definitely tell that it had flavors of seafood/crab.. they did not skimp out! And the kana crispy pork over rice was huge portion as well, but note that it was a big strong/saltier than the other dishes. For dessert, the pandan coconut pudding custard was SO yummy. We ordered quite a bit and honestly, everything was on point: · Lychee Thai Iced Tea & Yuzu Pop - both refreshing and not too sweet (huge plus for me since I don't have a big sweet tooth). · Moo Ping - solid start to the meal. · Salmon Mango (GF) - the salmon was cooked through (which I asked for), and the mango salad underneath was light and tangy. The sweet fruit with the savory fish worked way better than I expected. · Pineapple Fried Rice - came with shrimp, nice wok aroma, and that perfect sweet-tangy pineapple kick. · Pineapple Lychee Crispy Duck (GF) - duck skin was nice and crispy, and the coconut-based sauce with lychee and pineapple kept it from feeling heavy or greasy. · Branzino Chili Lime (GF) - came out piping hot, classic Thai-style sour broth that paired perfectly with the fish. No fishy taste at all, and the texture was tender. Even the drinks and dessert weren't overly sweet, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, really enjoyed the meal here -- flavors are solid, service was friendly, and you can feel the effort they put into the experience. Definitely coming back!

Pad Kee Mao (aka Drunken Noodles), chicken $15.00 Stir-fried flat rice noodle, bamboo shoots, garlic, basil, fresh chili, onion, carrot, string bean, bell pepper, long hot chili The flat rice noodle quantity was sufficient, but minimal and there were too much onion, insufficient string bean, two paucity pieces of carrot. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

It's a bit pricey, but damn the food is good here! Hungry Thirsty is not your regular Thai spot,…read morebut with more traditional flavors that truly pack a punch in spice. The restaurant is tiny, so be sure to make a reservation. As a lover of spicy food, the spiciness in the dishes really brought out such a great flavor. Since my friend didn't eat as spicy, we found a happy medium getting just slightly spicy dishes which were all fantastic. We ordered the Khao Soi ($33) and Pla Tod Nam Pla ($40). The khao soi wasn't too spicy, especially since the broth has a creaminess and the spicies are on the side before mixing, which you can exclude. The chicken was so tender, but did come with bone so this can be trickier to share. Then the pla tod really surprised me, but I can definitely see why it's the best seller. It is a fried branzino with a marinated fish sauce which goes so nicely with all the crunch. There are a few remaining pieces of bone, so be careful. The fish had a nice balance of fish meat and crunchy skin. If you're looking for a unique Thai spot, this is it. Also, perfect spot for spicy lovers too. They also offer a huge selection of alcohol.

Wait staff was attentive to dietary needs, exemptions and ensured our request was followed to a T. Ordered some Khao Kriab Pak Mor (dumplings) to start along with a pair of mocktails. And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.

My first time here and it was a great experience. It is Valentine's Day and we left with a cute little gift from them, beautiful gesture. Definitely coming back :)
