Having visited Junior's in Times Square years ago, we knew we wanted to try it out again! This was the original location, so we booked a reservation. The service was a bit slower than you would expect, especially as it wasn't very busy. The food was fine, but nowhere near how we remember it to be 10+ years ago when we went nearly every day on the trip. The roasted chicken was so dry you would hardly chew it. The salmon plate was good, but lacked flavor. Of course, the cheesecake was delicious. If you're looking for a typical diner vibe with a lot of history, make sure to try out juniors. I got the Catfish fingers & cheese fries. Yum! I was in Bklyn, on business & stopped by only for the Catfish bc Manhattan restaurant doesn't make it. I forgot to take a photo of her but she cover the round sitting area near the pastries . I think her name is Leylia but it on the receipt. I hope management informs her to be more attentive w/ customers bc I did want something else, but not after her ignoring me & another customer next to me. The food came out in a good amount of time because we were definitely hungry. Everything was cooked the way we had requested. Everything was delicious! The coffee was the only thing that can improve. I really enjoyed my dining experience at Juniors. I stopped in for breakfast today. I was greeted in a friendly way, shown to a table. The restaurant is old school and has lots of pictures and memorabilia from past years. I went for the corned beef hash and coffee, and they also brought out two complimentary small pastries for me. The food was excellent. The portion sizes are big, but beyond that this was one of the best corned beef hashes I have had - nice crispy bits of corned beef, poached eggs with a runny yolk, breakfast potatoes, and rye toast. Can't get better than that. Their coffee was also decent with a bold flavor to it. They play older tunes with creates for a nice atmosphere. We ordered a double chocolate cheesecake for my fam and it is definitely the highlight of desserts. I stopped and held a camera for some tourists and took their group pictures. This place is known world wide for that cheesecake. This is New York during the holidays and I absolutely love it! It was festive and everyone was in such a great mood. Our waitress was great; very friendly, answered all our questions, and made sure we enjoyed our meal. She put out Cole slaw, pickles and beets to munch on before we even ordered. The Brooklyn Old Fashioned was delicious enough I had to have two. The fried chicken was super crispy and very tasty. The pastrami reuben was straight out of a NYC Jewish deli, a savory classic. However, their ordering remotely process is deceptive. They made me pay for pickles that were actually included with the order -- so I actually got two orders of them. I asked for lean corn beef and I got sort of lean corn beef, but it was excellent tasting so I can't complain too much. The portions are huge and the prices are extremely high. This leads us to waste food -- which we don't like to do. There was no dessert on the menu! You can't order a piece of their famous cheesecake, you have to order an entire cheesecake which is over $65!! read more

I recently enjoyed a delicious Roast Turkey sandwich at Juniors. This iconic restaurant in Brooklyn continues to serve patrons near and far--whether locals or visitors. It was jam packed when I visited with holiday decorations in full display and a cozy, energetic vibe. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, it's touristy (mainly in Manhattan) and yes, it may not be high caliber food, but I have a soft spot for Juniors. As mentioned in a previous review, I was just a kid when my family and I would occasionally dine at Juniors for lunch and it has been in the same location for decades. Today's lunch at Juniors was impromptu since we were in the area. We snagged a comfortable booth and I noticed patrons from couples to large groups just having a good time including birthday celebrations. Our server was a delight and very welcoming. After answering a few questions, noting that lunch prices do not apply to weekends and trying to start the year off healthy, we both chose the Roast Turkey sandwich (sans cheese). As a complimentary gesture, our server brought pickled treats to the table: beets, Cole slaw and pickles. Delicious. The sandwiches (one ordered with a side of fries for a bit of cheating) arrived shortly. For $18.95, don't expect a humongous, piled high sandwich. While it was more than filling for us, the portion didn't match the price. (Hey, prices have zoomed up everywhere). My sandwich on Whole Wheat was quite good. Bread was soft, turkey (the Thanksgiving kind) was moist and delicious and we both savored it. A few fries to accompany the sandwich was a nice touch--steak cut, hot and without the salt that is sometimes automatically sprinkled on top. Overall, this sandwich was a winner and I'm not even a sandwich person. I couldn't help but notice the aroma of food being served to other tables--half chicken, burgers and the ever so famous cheese cake. A visual delight. We were told the bakery is no longer in house at the Brooklyn location therefore the complimentary mini Danish pastries brought to tables ended (an on going tradition that goes back since forever). I think the food is a solid 3.5 and the cheesecake (which we opted to not have) merits a 5. However, Juniors is one of those restaurants that offers a feel good comforting experience. Their Caesar salad is on point, & they also have matzoh ball soup & potato latkes. I don't usually get their corned beef or brisket, but those are also great here. They have always been expensive compared to restaurants serving similar fare, but since the prices at almost all places in NYC have gone WAY up, their prices are now pretty much average. The kitchen is clean. The seating is a little dated, but you don't care about that. You're in the place that you call Home to have the best comfort food around. Try the corned beef, hash, and eggs. It is some of the best. To be quite frank the menu is huge. I had the pastrami sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. I had a cheeseburger the other night typical diner food began every time you've been into it. You wanted to bite it again and again. I talked to a couple of the staff about how long they've been here and why they were still here and I agree it's because they get treated right I got a chance to meet the general manager at delightful human made me feel welcomed love to talk about the original the OG Jr's in Brooklyn and how special it is. D had their very first pastrami sandwich and went into a trance, shouting "leave me to my meat!" When asked what they thought about it. We were celebrating A's birthday, so some of the staff came over and sang Happy Birthday, sticking a candle in a slice of the funfetti Cheesecake. A was both mortified and delighted. yummy! we tried the red velvet cheesecake from juniors which was delicious!! tangy and not too sweet. I just wish the red velvet flavor were a bit stronger and there was more texture in the cake. it was a picked up order, huge cake and could serve a huge group. the restaurant itself is also kind of fun and you can peer inside and see them making and packing the cakes. Highly recommend this cheesecake if you get the chance to try it. read more

The original Juniors in Brooklyn is pretty reliable, with something on the menu to please anyone, and friendly servers eager to please. Portions are stupidly large, so don't order too much. Breakfast comes with complimentary rugelach, too. My only complaint is that the corned beef hash, which is a nice plate, was unfortunately wayyyy too salty. Who adds salt to corned beef? read more

So it was an amazing experience. I've been to the one in Times Square month not this one. This one opened in the 1950s. The ambience is great. It's got a lot of character. The host is very nice and very accommodating. We sat down and took a little bit longer than it should've to get coffee candidly. So if I have one complaint it was that the coffee service could've been better. But that's a small complaint. My wife had French toast and bacon and I had the Western omelette without the ham. It was amazing. It was really really good. The home fries were great. And the toast had just enough butter on it. My wife had the French toast, which was awesome. She really liked it. She was so full she didn't even eat all her bacon. If you're looking for a cheap breakfast cheap this is not your place. I think our bill was between 50 and $60 for two people. If you go for lunch, order the corned beef sandwich, and pastrami sandwich combo. Their cheesecakes never failed at this point! The takeout line is the move if you're OK with eating somewhere else because the line is pretty short and the service is really quick. The takeout area is kind of on the side but I promise it's pretty safe! read more
