Reuben

I looooove Junior's! It's just old-school comfort to me. The classic decor with all the celebrity photos framed, the vintage red decor. I dunno why, but it feels like home. Recently, I had the Reuben sandwich with fries and it stood out as a favourite; hot, packed with meat, served with Cole slaw, pickled beets and pickles. I don't like to leave without a slice of strawberry cheesecake. YUM! Service is always sweet!

Happy 41st for me! Got a nice carrot cake for my birthday. Love the cream cheese frosting, if I would change/add anything, I'd add walnuts and I could live without the raisins. Overall good cake.

D - Cheeseburger and a bowl of Split Pea soup
Rogel H.

Had lunch here with beau and we were seated right away. Not too crowded or busy. Our waitstaff Ayana was pleasant and friendly. Had a bowl of split pea soup which was very good and warm...my go to soup. Had their cheeseburger though it may look dry but juicy in the inside. Fries and onion rings are hot and crunchy. Placed two cheesecakes, chocolate mousse and strawberry, to go. Though the food is pricey they are quite good and came out fast. If ever in the mood for some deli sandwiches, burgers and cheesecakes with friendly staff, Junior's the place.

Decisions. Decisions.

Junior's Iconic Restaurants located Downtown Brooklyn, allows many options with its online app.You can definitely purchase anything on the menu for pick up and avoid these long long holiday lines. You can order baked goods for delivery, pick up, or make dining reservations online. I arrived to pick up a cake yesterday and the online app made it soooooo easy. The app enables me to personalize my order, pick up our cheesecake, and keep it moving. People were in and out quickly. We ordered a double chocolate cheesecake for my fam and it is definitely the highlight of desserts. I stopped and held a camera for some tourists and took their group pictures. This place is known world wide for that cheesecake. This is New York during the holidays and I absolutely love it! It was festive and everyone was in such a great mood. The staff asked me if I was walking or driving so that they could bag up cheesecake to meet my travel needs. I'm taking an Uber, so they bagged this up and secured it like Fort Knox. Awesome customer services at the front counter. See you next year.

Chicken Alfredo with garlic bread

I recently had a less-than-satisfactory experience at your establishment. The chicken Alfredo with garlic bread I ordered lacked quality - the chicken was rubbery, the noodles were not served hot, and I was dining in. Before being seated, the table required cleaning, and there were multiple empty tables. The water served prior to ordering had a distinct tap water taste, which was unpleasant; it went untouched. The server was attentive to our needs during the ordering process, but the food fell short of expectations. Can you explain what went wrong, Junior?

Junior's in Downtown Brooklyn is one of those classic New York institutions where the nostalgia hits you the moment you walk in. Between the vintage photos, the red leather booths, and that unmistakable old-school diner energy, it feels like stepping into Brooklyn history. One of the best things about Junior's is how enormous it is. You almost never need a reservation, even with a big party. I've come here many times with my family and other families with kids, often after attending children's events at nearby City Point, and they always handle large groups just fine. It's incredibly kid-friendly, and the menu is so massive that even picky eaters can easily find something they love. The deli classics are solid: nothing fancy, but always comforting. The portions are gigantic, and the service is quick and friendly. But, of course, you come to Junior's for one main reason: the cheesecake. Rich, tangy, and dense, slightly browned on top. NY-style[1]; truly iconic. If you ever need to bring something to a party and don't know what, a Junior's cheesecake is a foolproof option. They offer a huge variety: original, strawberry, raspberry swirl, chocolate fudge explosion, pumpkin pie, red velvet, chocolate mousse, cherry crumb, Brooklyn crumb, devil's food, white chocolate, and more. And if you can't decide, they have a sampler of 18 mini 4-oz cakes. When in doubt, grab a couple of their smaller 6" cakes and make everyone happy. Whether you're visiting Brooklyn, corralling kids after a City Point outing, craving something sweet, or just feeling nostalgic, Junior's remains a beloved, reliable, and delicious classic. I can't think of Brooklyn without Junior's. ---------------- [1] NY-style cheesecake is characterized by its graham cracker crust and a filling made primarily with cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and sour cream or heavy cream. Italian-style cheesecake uses ricotta instead of cream cheese.

10/24/25- Picked up a Dubai style cheesecake.. OMG!.. my first time trying this brand of cheesecake -.. and won't be the last-.. Assuming it was going to be way too sweet.. I was totally wrong-. Perfect flavors on each level.. Think I better get an extra to serve for the holidays!.. If they could make a vegan one- I know my oldest would devour it..

Something Different from Junior's in BK. Beef brisket with potato latkes. Comes with au jus and chunky applesauce.

Get the Something Different! It is so good. Yummy brisket sandwiched between two large potato latkes. Chef's kiss . I have ordered this several times and it never disappoints. It is a hefty serving & can feed 2 people.

Junior's Restaurant on Flatbush Avenue is a throwback to the soda shop days of the 1950s. They serve one of the best chocolate egg creams I've ever had. Our waitress was great; very friendly, answered all our questions, and made sure we enjoyed our meal. She put out Cole slaw, pickles and beets to munch on before we even ordered. The Brooklyn Old Fashioned was delicious enough I had to have two. The fried chicken was super crispy and very tasty. The pastrami reuben was straight out of a NYC Jewish deli, a savory classic. We topped our meal off with a slice of Juniors Original Cheesecake, which was outstanding. The neon lights on Juniors exterior are very inviting and draw you in. The interior decor seems pretty original, giving Juniors that old school NYC vibe. They have a few locations, but Brooklyn is the original, with tons of character to show for it.

Great food service and classic spacious diner ambiance. This is the original Juniors location 75 years ago! Excellent menu and bakery choices !!

Tim C.

The lights don't just glow. They shout. Red neon letters, spelling "RESTAURANT BAR," cut through the haze like it's 1950, while the gigantic sign with a clock vaults "JUNIORS" into the Brooklyn skyline. That marquee leans over Flatbush like it owns the corner, because it does. Inside, the smell is rich. Butter, sugar, hot coffee, and decades of old stories hang in the air. This is Junior's. They don't call it the most famous cheesecake in New York for nothing. Opened in 1950 by Harry Rosen, Junior's built its name the way Brooklyn does everything: with quality and repetition. It's an icon of Brooklyn. You came here for birthdays. For first dates. For a slice and a soda after a Dodgers game when Ebbets Field was still a thing. Politicians make campaign stops here. Celebrities drop in. If you've lived in Brooklyn, Junior's is in your bloodstream. Oh my God, that cheesecake. You pick the cherry crumb. It arrives in a clear plastic clamshell container, bold and undignified, like it knows it's a superstar and doesn't need a plate to prove it. The cherries shine. Glossy. Dense. Not syrupy sweet, but close. On top, a bit of grit and crunch. Then the main course: thick, creamy, soft without collapsing. Not overly sweet. More dairy than dessert. This isn't whipped fluff. It's firm, structured, substantial. The crust, graham and butter, anchors everything. You taste each part. You get cherry, that dense, sweet smooth cheesecake, and just a little bit of crunch. With every bite, you end up a little shocked at how decadent this is, savoring each bite before you take the next one. Behind the counter, the bakery cases glow like championship trophy cabinets. Red velvet, Chocolate swirl, Plain, Strawberry, Key lime, and so many more varieties. You just know that they could make 500 slices on any given day and still run out. People call this cheesecake legendary. Rich. Dense. Iconic. Unmatched. For once, the words aren't overselling it. You eat it, and you get it. This is a legendary slice that will always stand the test of time.

All good, nice food and service. Ambiance is good................................................ Recommmended place to visit and celebrate special days

10" Devils Food Cheesecake

Junior's absolutely lives up to the hype. This was my first time at the original Brooklyn location and it felt like stepping into a classic New York institution. I ordered the combo Reuben, and it was exactly what you want from a place like this--well-executed, no gimmicks, just solid, old-school deli quality. The sandwich was nicely griddled with a great balance of corned beef and pastrami, plus the right amount of kraut and dressing. The onion rings weren't my favorite--they had a thicker batter style, which just isn't my preference--but they were still cooked well. The service was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and efficient without feeling rushed, which really added to the overall experience. I also tried one of their specialty cocktails (Electric Long Island Iced Tea), which was strong but smooth--definitely something to pace yourself with. Of course, the main event is the cheesecake. I took a couple slices to go, including the Devil's Food Cheesecake, and it absolutely delivered. Rich, dense, and clearly made with consistency and care. You can tell why this place has the reputation it does. Overall, Junior's isn't trying to be trendy or reinvent anything--and that's exactly why it works. It's a classic New York experience done right. I'd definitely come back.

This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. I ended up only eating about half of my burger and took the rest for lunch the next day and it held up well.

The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. Apparently there is more than one location in Manhattan. The inside reminded me of a classic diner. Comfy and with a pretty cool vibe. We all slid into a booth and looked over the seasonal offerings along with their standard menu. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. A friend and I each got a soup to start our meal, along with sharing a Potato Pancake. The Matzoh Ball Soup and Potato Pancake were good, but not great. However, I enjoyed the Pork & Cabbage Soup enough to take home a quart. For entree, we shared a Deluxe Meat Plate that was quite delicious. All three pierogi flavors were great, but the short rib was my favorite, followed closely by the mushroom & sauerkraut. I also really enjoyed the grilled kielbasa, but sadly it was served at room temperature. Lastly, the stuffed cabbage is not usually my thing, yet I liked this version. Once again, it was served barely warm. Thankfully, we finished on a high note. My friend really wanted the Challah Bread Pudding, which was moist and tasty. However, the lovely waitress advised us strongly to try the Medovyk. This Ukrainian layered honey cake had a wonderful texture, not too creamy or sweet, with a great walnut flavor. We were extremely happy with her suggestion. We also really liked the diner vibes that felt warm and inviting. This was so close to a five star review. The main reason for the deduction was the temperature of our food being served. Hopefully that problem will be solved on my next visit.
