Lassen & Hennigs is an establishment that serves as a Deli/Bakery. There are two locations - the other is on Water St. In DUMBO & this one is on Montague in the Brooklyn Heights section of BK. Lassen & Hennigs on Montague is walking distance from Downtown Brooklyn (ex. GAP Outlet, Banana Republic Outlet, City Point, etc.) & is close to the Promenade, other eateries & Brooklyn Bridge Park. Lassen & Hennigs sells hot & cold food, breakfast, lunch dishes / sandwiches, has a fridge food section, has a fantastic selection of desserts & baked goods, etc. Staff are friendly, proivde you w/ prompt-enough customer service & ensure that the line moves quickly - items can be purchased w/ in minutes. Stopping here for lunch & after work to pickup food, coming here w/ coworkers to pick up goodies, purchasing baked goods....you name it, & for years, it has been done at Lassen & Hennigs. Select Sandwich w/ Soup Combos, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken & Rice have all been good. There are so many fantastic desserts that we have had - Red Velvet Cupcakes & Cake, Carrot Cupcakes & Cake, Blueberry Cupcakes, Vanilla Cake w/ Chocolate Frosting, Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, Tarts, etc. Lassen & Hennigs is where I go to get Apple Pie Dessert for Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner, I have purchased Celebratory Cakes for Holidays, Birthdays, etc. Lassen & Hennigs has something delicious for everyone. Mon. - Fri. - 7am - 9pm Sat. & Sun. - 7am - 8pm lassenandhennigs.com @lassen_and_hennigs

Solid if pricey deli with a large selection of pastries, sandwiches, and other premade foods. We were in the area and stopped by for brunch, and I tried the L&H express ($12.95) and a bacon egg and cheese ($7.50). We also got a peach danish / pastry ($3.95) and hot coffee ($2.75). The L&H was a huge sandwich and very flavorful! Ingredients tasted fresh and was made well with a lot of meat. It tasted a bit like a burger haha. The BEC was also great - the eggs were cooked well and fluffy, though the sandwich could have used a bit more seasoning. I also loved the peach pastry! Not too sweet and very flakey. Service was friendly and the checkout line was efficient. The only downside was not having a place to eat it -- there were picnic tables outside but it was a cold and rainy day. I'd come back again!

Classic Brooklyn bakery that I love to patronize when I'm on this side of town. Highly recommend the red velvet cake! That's what drew me here over 20 years ago and that's why I still come back. Also recommend the pumpkin cheesecake and other flavors. The desserts always taste like they're baked/prepared fresh and are delicious. There are no seats so anything you get is going to be a grab and go treat. Upon entry, the bakery counter is to the left and the refrigerator and register are to the right. The middle aisle has items that don't need refrigeration. The store is small and is usually crowded with at least 10 patrons at a time. 2 thumbs up, will always come back and highly recommend

So many fun options in here! The black and white cookie is a classic and always worth getting when you visit. The potato salad is also wonderful! Plus, there's a fun assortment of drinks to wash down whatever you get!

I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast before heading out so I decided to stop by Lassen & Hennigs for a bite to eat. This family owned business has been in operation since 1949. They have baked goods and soups galore. I ordered an egg sandwich on a roll and it was really good. I'm glad that I decided to give them a try.

I waited for about 45 minutes, while waiting I picked up my chips and a white peach ginger ale. I also talked to the girl in front and she explained that you can get your sandwhich on a hero or roll. I ordered a chopped honey turkey with onions, pickles, lettuce and mayo. The guy who made my sandwich was soo friendly and patient. I just put my trust in him to hook it up lol. He also asked if I wanted to add the chips and I did. Overall my sandwhich was better the next day after it firmed up. The flavor was good but the texture was soft, mushy and just not what I want in a turkey sandwhich. It ran me about 12.00 and it was worth the experience.

If that's not the most Brooklyn thing ever, I don't know what is. Same sandwiches, different blessing. Everybody says order the pastrami, so I listened like a grown man should. Then came the beef brisket on rye with a cup of au jus for dipping... and brother, that dip should be studied by scientists. Pure perfection. I went with two friends so were able to try three different sandwiches and to be honest, they were all just alright. The food: Roast Pork Special- Fried Eggplant, Provolone, Broccoli Rob- The texture of the pork came off a bit dry, the eggplant was good but kinda gets lost in the sandwich so if I literally had it on it's own I would have appreciated it more but who eats fried eggplant by itself? The rob was nice it added a nice crunch but didn't offer that much flavor. Giuseppe Special- Eggplant parm, meatballs, melted mozzarella. I couldn't get over how soggy the bread was. It was like wet paper towel to me. Soggy bread and everything kinda tasting the same made it underwhelming. Nicky Special- It just tasted like salad in between bread. There was so much veg, that was the main thing I remember in that sandwich.
