I want to be clear - I still love Bagel Pub as a chain of bagel joints, but on my most recent visit to the Park Slope location I have to confess to being a bit let down. At first, things seemed normal. There was a line at the counter, I put in my order at the counter and then paid at the cashier station. The bagel I got was delicious and well toasted. The strawberry cream cheese was fantastic and I'd get it again. So what changed? Well, two things really. First, I had to wait for quite some time to get a seat, and when I finally did, the back of the chair felt like it was going to fall of if I leaned back. So be careful with whichever chair you pick to sit on. Second, service was...gruff at best. Almost everyone I interacted with on my most recent visit looked annoyed to be there. The only exception was the guy who took my order. Everyone just looked...annoyed. It really felt unwelcoming. Again, I am happy to visit Bagel Pub again in the future, I just hope the reception is better next time. read more

Terrible service and major food safety concerns I had a awful experience here. First off, it was nearly 90 degrees outside, but it felt even hotter inside the shop because the AC was completely off. Second, the customer service was awful. The girl taking orders was flat-out rude--after taking my order, she literally told me to "move" instead of politely asking me to step down. By that evening and into the next morning, I had severe diarrhea. In that kind of heat, dairy like cream cheese spoils incredibly fast if it isn't kept cold. I overdid it a little bit by getting sun-dried tomato cream cheese, an egg, and onion, lettuce, and tomato. The bagel ended up quite packed and ended up being a juicy, slippery mess. There are plenty of options for what to add to a bagel - I suggest looking at the menu before you get there to have a solid option cause there is just too much to look at in person. They've got some good options for vegetarians as well. They were super busy and quick with their orders. The staff were super friendly too. I got a ABC Omelette Breakfast Sandwich which was warm and delicious. Great flavors and warm and chewy ingredients. I was also very impressed with the Lox #2 Bagel. The capers, onions, tomatoes, scallion cream cheese, and fresh lox paired superbly together. Always great bagels from bagel pub. Their bagels have gotten more expensive recently, but they're still my go-to for a solid bagel in the neighborhood. One of my favorite things is that they have a whole wheat everything bagel which is so fun! They almost always have a line but they're quick. The seating inside this location is limited but there's generally pretty quick table turnover or there is a bar area where you can sit or stand if you're just one or two people. what a wild experience !!!! if I could give a 0 I would I go order French toast , worker had no idea what that was , asked if I wanted a French toast bagel, then told him no thanks it's on your menu right next to pancakes. I look at my coworker and felt like I was in lala land. my coworker orders a bagel and a cookie. after we eat and leave we head back to our truck then my partner tells me something is in his mouth then we hear a loud crack out of his mouth. he then looks at me and says I think I cracked my tooth. after 30 seconds he proceeds to tell me now that his "tooth" feels like a razor blade few seconds after he pulls out a thin piece of metal out of his mouth. then says he felt something wierd when he bit into his cookies but thought it was the jelly! all in all he found a piece of metal in his took that stabbed his gums that made him bleed. The ambiance was great. The artwork was funny and bagel themed. Great spot to sit outdoors or indoors. The noice level was nigher than average, but you could still hear your dining partner. We ate there yesterday morning, the morning of a holiday weekend, and it was busy but the staff kept things running so smoothly. Our order was accurate and was finished relatively quickly, considering how busy they were. The day before, we ate at Liberty Bagels but we determined this restaurant was elite. The selection of spreads was amazing. I love how it's set up the way a gelateria is. My only complaint that keeps this from being a 5 star review was the issues I had with ordering online. I tried several times to pay to complete my order but it wouldn't let me. It made the wait time a bit longer since I spent time trying to order digitally, but the line moved pretty quick.
